Welcome Laurie London–Gorgeous mountains, hot vampires, and a contest!
Welcome Laurie London who is about to take readers by storm with her sizzling hot new Vampire series.
A quick reminder that the Olivia Cunning contest is live through Friday and we will have the talented Elisabeth Naughton and Shiloh Walker coming up this weekend!
Today's prize is a copy of ALL of these books with a holiday theme ALLURING TALES HOT HOLIDAY NIGHTS, Wrapped in Seduction, and Santa Baby.
To enter chat it up with Laurie! She is excited to tell you about her new Vampire series and believe me you WANT to know about this series. It's a very True Blood kind of edge.
Now onward to Laurie and Laurie's gorgeous view!
Since I don't really have an office and since a picture of my couch would be boring, here's a picture of my view when I'm writing on my laptop from the living room. It's looking east toward the Cascade Mountains as the sun is coming up, and that foggy mist is hovering over a bog behind our pasture.
Because my husband works from home, he uses the actual office. He says it's large enough for both of us, but who can write while listening to him talk on conference calls all day? I've got a computer armoire in the bedroom, but I feel too enclosed staring into a cabinet all day. Instead, I write from the dining room table in the middle of the house. Although the natural light is nice and I get good vibes from the color (see my whimsical Daniel Ng print), privacy is my main problem. My solution (other than heading to a local coffee shop)–a nice pair of noise-canceling headphones. I turn them on with no music which cancels out the ambient sounds of my family or I listen to music without lyrics. My husband and kids know that if I have my headphones on they can't pester me. At least that's the theory!
I'll start – Laurie — what music did you listen to while writing your first HQ Vampire book? And readers do you ever associate a book with music?
Cheers! And let me leave you with a glimpse at Laurie's first book.
BONDED BY BLOOD
Coming February 2011
Deep within the forests of the Pacific Northwest, two vampire coalitions battle for supremacy—Guardian enforcers who safeguard humanity and Darkblood rogues who kill like their ancient ancestors.
Now, Guardian team leader Dominic Serrano will be forced to choose between the vengeance he craves and the woman he can't live without…
Movie location scout Mackenzie Foster-Shaw has always known that she's cursed to die young. No one can protect her from the evil that has stalked her family for generations—vampires who crave her rare blood type. Until one afternoon in a wooded cemetery, she encounters an impossibly sexy stranger, a man she must trust with her life.
For Dominic, a man haunted by loss, Mackenzie satisfies a primal hunger that torments him—and the bond they share goes beyond heat, beyond love. She alone can supply the strength he needs to claim his revenge. But in doing so, he could destroy her…

My Write Place Is Wrong
by Olivia Cunning
I arranged a nice desk before a window with a nice view—if you consider a backyard in Nebraska a nice view—just knowing I was going to get a lot of writing done in my writing nook. The colors are soothing. The curtains romantic. The inspiration… nonexistent.
I've written a grand total of zero words in my writing nook. Here's where I write most of the time. In my recliner. It has massage and heat settings. Much more inspiring. Really all I need is a comfy chair, my laptop and some loud heavy metal blaring in my ears. I don't have a picture of me writing in my chair. If someone dared take a picture of that horrendous site, they'd probably lose an eye. So you'll have to settle for a picture of me with my debut novel, Backstage Pass.
Here's my writing partner 'Shortie'. No erotic romance writer should be without an eight-pound wiener at her side.
So technically my writing place is all wrong, but it works for me.
So let the commenting begin!:)

The room divider in front of my desk saved my sanity…and my deadlines.
Not only does the divider help keep my attention on my lappie, it also works as a great story board holder.
I LOVE books, (and skulls) and have them along almost every wall.
Meagan has a new release in January!

I hope you guys are enjoying are look into the den's of your favorite authors as much as I am!:) Today we welcome to Kate Douglas — and YAY — we have a copy of StarFire (her April release) OR Wolf Tales 11 (her December release) as a prize. The winner will get a choice of one or the other. To enter to win simple tell us where your favorite place to read is or just ask Kate a question or comment about on of her books. Personally, I think Kate's office would become my favorite place to read if I lived close to her and she would have me!:)
Kate as an awesome teaser video for the DEMONSLAYERS series HERE
Click HERE not on the cover to get a look inside Wolf Tales– I couldn't get the cover click to insert right.
Onward to Kate's cozy office:
These three pictures are of the three most important things in my office—my recliner and laptop where I write, my little bed on the floor where I nap when my eyes quit working, and my TBR stack! (Can't live without that!)
I am a clutterer—I clean the office really good after each project and it magically returns to its cluttered state within a couple of days, but I seem to work best amid all the mess. As long as my chair is accessible, the bed ready to lie down on and a book handy, I'm a happy camper.
There's also a second desktop PC with another printer for different projects, but this is where I spend upwards of twelve to sixteen hours a day. This room is on the third floor (sort of…it's actually five floors up from my husband's basement workshop, and only the second floor from the main living area, but we're on the side of a hill so it's mostly more like levels than floors)
Did I mention that husband is usually five floors down in the workshop or four down in the tv room? Probably why we're still married…and no, it's not a big house, just lots of up and down!

And there you it folks. Cozy inspiration. Let the comments begin!

Awesome Photos/post from Judi Fennell-office and fur baby
Today we have the talented Judi Fennell visiting and sharing her office. I think you will enjoy this look into her world. And big huge congrats to Judi on her starred Publishers Weekly review!
Read about the book here!
Today's prize is a choice of:
–A download of my books –either Hidden Instincts or Healer
–A gorgeous Snowflake ornament
–A copy of Alluring Tales 1 and 2
All you have to do to win is comment and believe me there are all kinds of fun things to comment about in this great post!
So Onward to Judi Fennell:
This past spring (before I decided to go back to work full time) we converted our dining room to my new office. Now I can have both my writing business and the running-of-the-home stuff in one location. Plus I get lots more natural light, which I'm finding I need the more I am in front of the computer screen.
So here are the pictures. I took some at night and some during the day for a better contrast. My view out my window is very pretty, but, sadly, you can't see it at night, and when I try to take a picture through the windows, the light is too bright. Not a problem I'm complaining about, btw.
Pictures need to be hung, a bookcase might need to be bought, and I'm still jonesing for that massage chair that we had to cancel the order for a year and a half ago (they kept shipping the wrong one then wanted $600 more to ship the one we ordered. Um… I don't think so.) I've found another one, beige, which will go nicely. Now to get Hubs on board with that suggestion after we just spent umpteen dollars on this… That might take a while. But in the meantime, I'm thoroughly enjoying this cheerful space.
My desk (obviously). See the lamp on the credenza? It's made of purple glass. I found it at Home Goods years ago and was using it as a salad bowl in my dining room. I plugged the hole with hot glue and it worked like a charm. So when it came time for a lampshade, all I had to do was remove the plug and voila! back to its original purpose. Oh, and if you look really closely, you'll see my tiara around the base of the glass vase.
I love this workstation. It's designed to fit a computer/monitor in the long middle section, but that's where I'm keeping my paper cutter and promo materials – all in one spot with a handy pull-down work center. Love love love this! It was the last piece to arrive and took me about 4 hours to put together. And it holds that blue glass genie bottle I found at Home Good recently. Love that genie bottle, but it was too bad they didn't have it in purple.
Vixen enjoying her favorite spot. And Pagan, the cat, enjoying hers. The chair is part of my dining room set that's going to go when I sell it, but I'm hoping to put a massage chair here. I may never have to leave the room! (There's a powder room right next door!)
I love this picture. A princess, a castle, a dragon and a unicorn. It's so me.
I love twinkling lights in trees. I still have the ones in my outside dwarf Alberta spruces that flank my front stoop. And I don't think I'm taking them down at all. In this tree I have a Christmas ornament my husband gave me. It's a Disney collectible – Cinderella's Castle and the coach. Supposedly you plug the attachment into one of the light sockets and the coach goes around the castle, but I have yet to see that work – and I've tried many a light socket. Oh well. I also have a mermaid in an oyster shell ornament given to me by my friend, Carla Faker when I sold my Mer trilogy, and a merman with a drink in his hand from my best friend from high school that she saw when she was in San Francisco.
Double doors to the foyer that weren't here two weeks ago. You can see more lights through the left one. I have two topiaries flanking the front door and, yep, they have twinkling lights in them. I have another silk tree in the foyer by the staircase that also has the lights. These were great when I worked my night job and didn't get home until 1 am. They were still on so I wasn't coming home to an entirely dark house.
and, the amethyst glass door knobs. I was so lucky to find a seller who had three pairs available (and those were the only ones I could find, so I'm guessing it was meant to be.)
And, of course, my favorite "corner" of the office. My desk corner:
