CHOCOLATE BUTTERCREAM FROSTING & Loire Glass Cake Stand Giveaway
This week’s recipe from Rae is Chocolate Buttercream Frosting! Keep stopping by on Monday’s when we’ll have a new recipe and giveaway posted! 
CHOCOLATE BUTTERCREAM FROSTING
Ingredients:
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup baking cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups confectioners’ sugar
3 -4 tablespoons milk
Directions:
In a large bowl, cream shortening and softened butter with mixer. Add the baking cocoa and vanilla extract. Slowly add in Sugar. Beat well, being sure to scrape the bowl to get all ingredients incorporated. Add milk 1 tablespoon until you get the consistency that you want. Beat until fluffy. (I USUALLY LET IT MIX FOR A FEW MINUTES TO GET IT REALLY INCORPORATED AND FLUFFY) Use immediately on a cooled cake for best results.
Just because Valentine’s Day is over doesn’t mean you can’t make your loved ones a great dessert. You can use any cake recipe or mix and add a homemade frosting that everyone will love. I made a cherry chip cake with chocolate frosting and added cherries to the top.

And yes, sexuality is a part of creating realistic characters, yet it’s something authors struggle with in their work. When is sex gratuitous, rather than furthering the story? And how can a character’s relationship and/or response to sex define them more deeply? Lisa Renée Jones will address when to include a sex scene, when not to, and how to insure it furthers the plot, as well as the characters within it. In addition, we’ll discuss when sexual tension is more appropriate than the act itself, and how to build that tension.

New challenges for romance authors and romance readers trying to connect on Facebook
What the new Facebook organic reach limits means — my take for anyone struggling with it…..many of us saw sudden massive drops in the reach of our posts. I dropped 90% in a matter of 2 days and nothing has changed that. MANY others are having the same on fan and business pages.
So what I’ve put together so far….my take for what it’s worth….
–LIKES are not real. People who LIKE your page do not consistently get your feed. They must hit GET NOTIFICATION. Most don’t know this and it’s not easy to find. If you don’t know you surely won’t find it.
–If your followers LIKE you – you have no way to reach them to tell them to hit GET NOTIFICATIONS
-If Facebook’s motivation is to force you to advertise your posts it’s flawed. I tried this and dropped $100 in 2 hours. It sent the posts to NON-FOLLOWERS who didn’t want it. They were some religious fanatics (I’m religious. I just mean people who think I’m a sinner for writing romance– My GOD created sex thus its okay by him FYI ). Anyway those people are not good advertising for me!
-You just plane can’t get to the LIKES so those people are just plane not REAL anymore.
-Statistics have surfaced that if you pay for LIKES from adverting your page not your posts you are driven to LIKE farms and don’t get results. I don’t agree with this. I watch my LIKES and they are quality readers. Problem? I can’t tell them to hit GET NOTIFICATIONS. SO…what good is getting the LIKE? We both think we are connected but its a facade.
SO…where does that leave us? Praying Facebook figures out how much this isn’t working quickly or finding other ways to connect with people we want to connect with. In other words, moving time and money to other resources.
