PEANUT BUTTER EGGS & Wilton Sprinkles Giveaway!

Peanut Butter Egg


You know it’s spring when the peanut butter and chocolate candy is in all the stores.  I love the store bought candy, but this is delicious and easy to make.  A great recipe to make with children also.  These make a great hostess gift.  Just put the candy in treat bags and add them to a basket filled with decorative grass.  Anyone you give share these with is sure to enjoy them.


PEANUT BUTTER EGGS


INGREDIENTS


4 cups powdered sugar


1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter


1/4 cup butter melted


3 tablespoons milk


12 ounce package milk chocolate chips


1 tablespoon Shortening


Sprinkles, optional


DIRECTIONS


Mix powdered sugar, peanut butter and butter, mix well


Add milk and mix to incorporate


Form dough in egg shape, (or balls or any other shape you can think of that would work.)


Place in fridge or freezer to set up, (about 15 minutes worked well for me)


In a microwave safe bowl add chocolate chips and shortening, microwave 30 seconds mix, repeat until the chocolate is melted, do not melt to long or you will ruin the chocolate.


Dip egg (or whatever shape you chose) in the melted chocolate and place on waxed paper until hardened. (If using sprinkles, place on eggs before they harden so the sprinkles stick)

Watergate Salad & Walther Glass Bowl Giveaway

Watergate Salad


Thank you for stopping by for the month o’green.  Our final green recipe is a Watergate salad.  My family enjoys this salad as a dessert, but I have known people that use it as a side dish.  It is also a great warm weather picnic dish.  Just make sure to keep it chilled.  Please stop by next month for April recipes and new book releases. 


Watergate Salad


INGREDIENTS:


1 can (20 oz.) crushed pineapple, in juice, (DO NOT DRAIN, YOU NEED JUICE ALSO)


1 package (3.4 oz.) pistachio flavor instant pudding


1 bag mini marshmallows (I use 10 oz. bag)


1 tub cool whip, thawed (I use low fat or fat free 8 oz. container)


DIRECTIONS:


Mix first 3 ingredients in a large bowl until incorporated.


Mix in cool whip.


Leave in fridge for at least 1 hour, serve chilled.

NEW FanFiction: Death Angel The Amber Brown Files

I have a bit of a surprise for my readers today. I just posted the first chapter of a fan fiction book I wrote some time back. It has NEVER been published anywhere, and I wanted to give you all the first look at it!

ZUCCHINI BREAD & BIA Cordon Bleu Butter Dish GIVEAWAY

Zucchini Bread


Keeping with the green theme, I decided to use zucchini this week.  It is such a great smell when the bread is cooking, and with the temp. still cool, at least where I am,  this is a perfect recipe to warm up the house.  I love to serve still a little warm with a pad of butter.  A slice of this bread, curled up in a blanket with a cup of coffee and a great book, like IF I WERE YOU SERIES.  It’s a wonderful thing!!!


ZUCCHINI BREAD


INGREDIENTS:


3 cups shredded zucchini, approx. 2-3


1 2/3 cup granulated sugar


2/3 cup vegetable oil


2   teaspoons vanilla


4  eggs


3 cups all-purpose flour


2 teaspoons baking soda


1 teaspoon salt


1 teaspoon ground cinnamon


1/2 teaspoon all-spice


1/2 teaspoon baking powder


DIRECTIONS:



Heat oven to 350°F.
Grease bottoms only of 2 (8×4-inch) loaf pans with cooking spray.
In large bowl, stir zucchini, sugar, oil, vanilla and eggs until well mixed. Stir in remaining ingredients.  Divide batter evenly between 8-inch pans
Bake 8-inch loaves 50 to 60 minutes ,or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans on cooling rack 10 minutes.
Loosen sides of loaves from pans; remove from pans and place top side up on cooling rack.
Cool completely, about 2 hours, before slicing. Wrap tightly and store at room temperature up to 4 days, or refrigerate up to 10 days.

Tips:  you can add ½ cup chopped nuts and or ½ cup raisins.
