(I'll also be giving away an Evernight gift certificate, so be sure to enter the Rafflecopter at each stop!)

A chance encounter in a hospital waiting room between twenty-two year old Will Messina and sixteen year old Josiah Pinkerton ends with a gift of a stuffed dragon off the hospital gift cart and a memory neither of them can shake.
Five years later, when a lonely, buttoned-up Will ventures into a gay club, he spots a pale, leather-clad specter with violet eyes tracking his every move. Will realizes he’s being watched by the grown version of the boy who’s haunted his thoughts for years.
Joey recognizes Will, but he’s no longer the sweet, brown-eyed boy worthy of Will’s attention. He’s damaged and defective and lives in a different world than Will now. When his childhood crush makes his way across the bar, Joey doesn’t have time to decide whether to be enchanted or dismayed because, unless he turns and runs, those worlds are about to collide.

Guest Post: Cody Kennedy / Slaying Isidore's Dragons
Hi, Everyone ~ Happy Easter!Before you go pigging out on chocolate... you'll regret it later - you know you will... I have a special no-calorie treat for you!Cody Kennedy is letting me give you all an exclusive look at a never-before-scene (scene..get it?) excerpt fromSLAYING ISIDORE'S DRAGONS!

In this short excerpt from Slaying Isidore’s Dragons, Declan wants to know if Isidore will consciously commit to being his boyfriend. Isidore is hesitant because he doesn’t believe he is worthy of Declan’s love. Alternatively, when Isidore does commit, Declan mulls the responsibility he has taken on.
Declan whispered against Isidore’s lips. “Will you let me love you, Isidore? Hmm?”
“I am not worthy of your love,” Isidore whispered back.
Isidore’s words tore at Declan’s heart. He looked into the eyes that he’d come to regard as his own personal chartreuse diamonds. “You are. Please say you’ll be mine,” he whispered.
“This is....” Isidore cleared his throat softly. “A dream.... One I do not wish to end.”
“Say yes, and I’ll make sure it doesn’t.” Declan kissed Isidore’s lips again. Isidore cleared his throat again. “Oui, yes.”
Declan kissed his lips one last time before straightening up and smiling down at
him. “Are you always so stubborn?”
Isidore’s brows shot up. “I am no more stubborn than you.”
“Think again. I had to ask you five times. You got me beat, hands down.” Declan
pecked his lips again.
Isidore looked away with a shy smile. “Perhaps a little, then.”
Declan grinned. “Come on. Bed.”
Isidore climbed into bed first. “May I be the big spoon?”
Declan laughed softly as he climbed into bed. “Why do you want to spoon me?” “It will be better for the stitches, and I wish to hold you.”
“Okay.”
Isidore cuddled behind him and snaked an arm around his waist. Declan yawned. “Mmm, you’re always so warm.”
“This is unusual for me. I am more often chilled when I sleep.”
“See? We’re good for each other.”
“I am beginning to believe we are.”
Declan listened to Isidore’s breathing even out as he fell asleep. He hugged
Isidore’s elegant hand to his chest and prayed he’d made the right decision. His repertoire of caring for living creatures consisted of one goldfish won at a school fair when he was five, one stray cat who preferred to remain stray, part-time pet sitting of their groundskeeper’s blue heeler in Ireland, and sprinkling food flakes for his mum’s giant angelfish every morning. The goldfish had died after a mere three weeks in his care. Bleak. Now, he had Isidore. Isidore, who had suffered monumental horrors, came with a mountain of serious problems, and could hardly hold himself together on a good day. Are you nuts, de Quirke? Has to be love. It has to be.

Awesome, right? And, there's only 4 more days to wait, but keep scrolling because Cody has been kind enough to give us a link to Chapter One (the whole chapter) right now!

Moments / Through The Dark

MOMENTS / THROUGH THE DARK
Harry set the lantern down and looked at his boots.
“Those Goddamn Brown Boots”.
He could still hear Louis’ voice. The name had stuck. He’d no idea how the entire fandom had learned the term because it’d been uttered in a private moment between the two of them in the dressing room of the AMAs moments after winning Artist of the Year. They’d also won awards for Favorite Band and Favorite Album, but Artist of the Year was the one that caused Louis to make a heated detour after accepting.
“Harold, shed those goddamn brown boots you insist on wearing and peel those skinny jeans off your ass before I rip them off myself.”
Stolen moments.
All their intimate moments were stolen except for the few, precious weeks a year when the entire band was given time off and they could go home, to the house they secretly shared.
It was supposed to be one of those stolen moments. Twenty-four blissful hours between concert appearances, alone together on Aogashima, a tiny island, formed by volcanoes in the Phillapine Sea, only reachable by helicopter or boat. The pictures Louis had shown him were lush and green, an oasis in an otherwise chaotic life that was never their own. Only the helicopter pilot had known their true destination, not their manager or even the other boys in the band who thought they were just laying over for an extra day in Tokyo.
Louis had flown ahead first – their contract forbidding them to travel together for insurance reasons. That was a year ago. Before the phone call that changed Harry’s life forever.
Before the eruption.
Harry surveyed the stark landscape and the ash that now whitened Those Goddamn Brown Boots. Somewhere, mixed with what was left of Aogashima, were the ashes of his one and only true love. He dropped to his knees, dragging his fingers through the white powder, trying to grasp it in his hands to no avail. His tears caused poofs of dust to rise in retaliation of being disturbed. There was nothing left of the island. Nothing… yet, to Harry, everything was here. In this dust lay his entire life, his future, his dreams and he wished he could combust and become one with the ash, but how could he burn when he was full of tears? He choked on airborne particles as sobs wracked his body.
A firm touch on his shoulder caused him to jump. He’d allowed them to come along only because they’d promised to stay on the boat and give him time alone first. He turned to shout at them but their ravaged faces reflected his pain and he understood. They’d loved Louis, too. Not the same way he did, but with the same intensity.
He placed his hand over Niall’s and hung his head. One of them, he thought it was Liam, started singing, “Ohhh, I will… carry you over… fire and water….” He felt two more hands on his back. “When the night is coming down on you, we will find a way… through the dark.”
----------------------------
Sorry fellow Flashers – had to do it. You all started talking about whether it was sand or snow and I saw ash. Then I saw the black skinny jeans and ‘Those Goddamn Brown Boots’ – and it was canon - I truly had no choice - especially with all the stuff going down in 1D-world this week when we fans are having to face the possibility of losing one member of the band. Will they find a way... ?
------------------------
3/29/15: Update - Not that anyone will EVER believe me, but I wrote this the same day the picture was posted, which was Monday 3/23/15. BEFORE Zayn left. BEFORE Liam sang Through The Dark and cried. Nothing was going on with 1D the day I wrote this! I swear! Helena can vouch for me.
------------------------Oh, and Aogashima is a real place! It’s formed by a double volcano (a volcano within a volcano). Only 200 people inhabit the island and most of them live on the north end outside the caldera (which is at about 1:00 in the picture). The volcano is still considered active though it hasn’t erupted since 1785. Check it out: Aogashima

Bonus extra: For your listening pleasure, here are the two songs that inspired the title ;o)

Not A Single Word
I wasn't planning on ever posting this, but after having to go through my entire Blogger history trying to find an accidently deleted scheduled post, I've learned my lesson. Pages are MUCH easier to recover if they've actually posted, so therefore, I'm posting this - if for no other reason than I just don't want to lose it.
These two characters need to stop talking to me! Or maybe I need to stop everything else and start listening to them.
I had ZERO intention of doing a story for this Flash Fic picture. ZERO!!! I have way too many irons in the fire as it is.
But they won't shut up. I don't mean the guys in this picture - I mean my homeless guys, Tommy and Shane. These guys are just actors, acting out a scene from Tommy and Shane's story, which is below.

Not A Single Word
“If he hadn’t whimpered, I’d have passed right by him.”
Shane couldn’t stop gazing at the tiny creature trying to wiggle out of Tommy’s big hands. Tommy had found the pup in a trash bag next to one of the retail plaza’s big dumpsters. Shane rested his head on Tommy’s shoulder and nuzzled his nose into the puppy’s warm fur and hummed.
“He has that puppy smell, doesn’t he?”
Shane hummed again and nodded. He lifted his head and looked at Tommy.
“Oh, no. I know what you’re thinking, Shane.”
Shane smiled. Tommy always knew what he was thinking. It was one of the reasons he loved Tommy so much. Shane abhorred talking because of his stutter, but with Tommy, talking was seldom necessary.
“We can’t, Shaney, I’m sorry.”
Shane had never had a pet but he’d always wanted one. What kid didn’t? He heard the remorse in Tommy’s tone, though, and knew it killed him to tell him ‘no.' As much as Shane wanted this dog, he wanted Tommy to not feel bad even more. He forced a bright smile and nodded his understanding.
“I mean, we can barely feed ourselves, you know that.”
Shane nodded again.
“And what if he’s a barker? We can’t take that chance. We can’t draw attention to ourselves.”
Nod.
“And what about when winter comes, huh?” Tommy’s voice rose with intensity. “What if we have another winter like last one and we have to go to a shelter just to stay alive? What would we do with him then? We couldn’t just leave him and we can’t take him to a shelter!”
Shane would rather die than spend a night in a shelter anyway; he hated them, but he simply bobbed his head as the puppy continued to nuzzle Tommy’s beard.
“I wish you wouldn’t argue with me about this, Shane. I mean, I’d like to keep him too, but we just can’t.”
It would take way too much effort to tell Tommy he hadn’t said a word. Instead, Shane occupied himself by taking the pup’s paw between his fingers and studied how tiny and soft it was. He practically jumped out of his skin when Tommy huffed disgustedly and shouted.
“You’ll have to be the one to train him then! It’ll be totally up to you! He better not piss in the tent, either! And you damn sure better make sure you clean up after him outside, too! I don’t wanna’ be stepping in dog crap if I have to take a leak in the middle of the night.”
Shane looked up at Tommy's angry face and smiled. Tommy’s brow unfurled and he visibly melted for a second before regaining his gruff demeanor.
“I hate how you twist my arm, Shane. I think this is a huge mistake, but we’ll try it your way. If it doesn’t work out, the dog will have to go. I don’t want to hear a single word out of you.”
Shane grinned and nodded.

Dance With Me

Dance With Me
He slapped a hand on his ankle in an effort to keep his foot from flipping; the twitch revealing his nervousness.
Picking a piece of lint from the finely tailored trousers and tracing the perfect crease down to the cuff, he pinched it for good measure. He’d already managed to scuff the black and white zoot shoes that had been dropped by messenger at his home this afternoon. A sealed note had been attached to the garment bag, instructing him to pair the shoes and trousers with the starched white shirt, also enclosed.
Checking the clock on the wall, he swallowed. He’d be here any minute - the dashing man who’d brought his brand new, 1935 Dusenberg Model-J into the garage yesterday and proceeded to hover over Rodney as he analyzed and found the source of the expensive car’s oil leak, while the spice of his cologne mixed with the smell of grease and gasoline.
To Rodney’s shock, the man did nothing to hide his attraction, instead, going out of his way to make comment after comment of thinly veiled innuendo. “I knew the moment I laid eyes on you, you’d be able to… handle my leak. You’re good with your hands.” As Rodney wiped said hands and bent under the hood to make his final inspection, the man bent with him and whispered in Rodney’s ear.
“Dance with me.”
Rodney looked at him as if he were insane. It was unheard of. Not to mention, they obviously had nothing in common. The man’s eyes glittered with arousal. Okay, maybe one thing….
“I know a place.”
Now, as instructed by the note, Rodney sat alone in a dance studio lobby. He stilled his hyperactive foot again and fantasized about how it would feel, to press his awkward, mechanic’s body full-length against Thornton’s and dance.
“You must be special.” The dance instructor startled him out of his daydream. Rodney had forgotten he was even there. “Thornton bought out my entire studio tonight. Paid the fees for an entire class of students even though I only had six signed up. He paid those people triple the cost of their class not to show up.” The handsome young man made a show of eyeballing him up and down and jacked his brows once when done. “We go way back, Thornton and I. Grew up together. Only two gay men in this backward little town, so we have… history… but we were never more than a convenient hookup for each other. Says he found you in the city, but you don’t look city to me with those tats.”
The snick of the door latch rendered Rodney’s answer unnecessary as he stared at the gorgeous man who’d just walked in. Thornton was dressed to the nines and Rodney’s heart thudded and snakes slithered in his belly. Never had he seen a man as attractive or one who stared back with such naked hunger in his eyes.
Thornton crossed the room in three easy steps and held out his clean, smooth hand.
“Dance with me.”
---------------------------------------Love this picture, but not thrilled with my take on it, but since I didn't post what I wrote last week, I figured I'd better post this week. Can't wait to see what everyone else did, though. Come check them out with me here!

Guest Post: Helena Stone / Little Rainbows
I'm pleased to have Helena Stone as my guest today! Welcome, Helena!
~~~
Thank you, Jaycee, for welcoming me to your blog today and allowing me to share my novel, Little Rainbows, with your followers. Since you are at least partially responsible for that book existing, I thought I’d remind you – and tell everybody else – how it all started.
Many people dream about one day writing a book and getting it published. I remember having thoughts along those lines when I was about ten years old and read a (Dutch) book written by a young girl about her experiences in a sanatorium. That book, combined with Anne Frank’s diaries, encouraged me to keep a journal. The daily entries served two purposes. First and foremost they allowed me to start developing my writing muscles. But they also convinced me that neither my life nor my writing was interesting or good enough to ever share my words with others.Flash forward about forty years. I’m on Twitter, interacting with friends - two of whom are published authors - and I make the following, in my mind, innocent remark: ‘You know how they say everybody has at least one book in them? I wonder if that’s true for me too?’Next thing I knew I’d signed myself up to NaNoWriMo and was hitting my keyboard every single day just to make the minimal word count of 1666 words. I think it is safe to say nobody was more surprised than me when I actually ended up with a story by the end of November 2013.A few months and several rewrites later I discovered a competition for BDSM writers online. I entered my story, not because I thought I might actually win the publishing deal on offer, but because my story would be looked at by a professional editor if it was good enough to make it through the first round.The fact that I’m writing this post as part of the promotion for Little Rainbows indicates that not only did I make it through that first round, I also ended up with a contract. You would think that a year is more than enough time to get used to that idea but for me it all still feels like a dream. Not only did I indeed have a story in me, others deemed that story good enough to share it with the world; how crazy is that?
Since I started writing I’ve discovered it is quite seductive. I can’t imagine not writing anymore. Given that eighteen months ago I couldn’t imagine ever writing anything longer than an email or review, that’s quite a shock to the system. But maybe it is like Heather and Jason discover in Little Rainbows - once you develop a taste for something it is not at all easy to leave it behind again.
Blurb: When Jason Hudson and Heather Staunton first meet they are young and sure they are wrong for each other. As a result they spend a summer admiring each other from a safe distance.Twenty years later Heather is coming out of mourning, having lost her husband and Dom eighteen months earlier. Jason, now the owner of an exclusive sex resort on the west coast of Ireland, struggles with the loss of his desire to dominate.Jason’s resort is about to celebrate its first anniversary and party planner Heather has been hired to create the perfect celebration. Their reunion comes as a big surprise to both of them.Old and familiar attraction, battles with new and conflicting emotions as Jason and Heather work together to organize the ultimate BDSM event. Overcoming the issues between them isn’t the only obstacle Jason and Heather face. In the background lurks a threat both to Heather’s independence and Jason’s livelihood.
Excerpt:Heather. A smile appeared on his face as he remembered the sweet and innocent girl she’d been twenty years ago. The woman who’d just walked into his club couldn’t be mistaken for anything but the grown-up version of that girl, although he’d be hard pressed to call her innocent now. She still had those honey coloured curls tumbling around her head in wild abandon. Her big, almond-shaped eyes had stared into his, filled with a combination of wonder, depth and sadness. Jason shook his head, he had to be imagining things. He didn’t know—had never known—her well enough to recognise those feelings.
She’d certainly grown into her body since he’d last seen her. And she definitely knew how to fill a pair of jeans. Just one look at her arse in those trousers…well, the stirring had been a surprise after all those months without the sensation.
Restless, he got up and stalked up and down the balcony.
He had to stop these thoughts. He was supposed to work with Heather, not fantasise about her. He was a grown man, an experienced Dom, not some drooling teenager getting off on mentally undressing her. Still, what were the chances of meeting her again like this? Surely, such coincidences didn’t happen in real life? His past had just walked into his present and was scheduled to work with him this fortnight. Two weeks during which he could get to know her again, provided he could convince her to stay. As it stood, the plan was for her to be here for a few days and then return before the event started. If he played his hand right though…
No.
He raised his head to the sun, hoping the warmth would sooth his fevered thoughts. What was wrong with him? Just because he hadn’t seen the woman in twenty years didn’t mean he had to lose his mind over her. He might once have said that if he’d ever… He wasn’t going to pursue that line of thought either. For fuck’s sake, she’d lost her husband and partner, who had probably been her Dom as well, not too long ago. Even if she didn’t look like the typical grieving widow, he had no doubt he’d seen pain in her eyes. He had far more pressing problems to deal with right now than a sudden infatuation with a memory. Like how he’d get through that weekend without exposing himself as the fraud he’d turned into. Or how he’d ever find his way back to what had been such an important part of his life for so long.
Even if Heather hadn’t been recently widowed, seducing her would have been a bad idea. There were a few exceptions, but in general, fucking somebody you had to work with only led to unnecessary complications. He had a party to organise, a business to sustain. He needed to keep his eyes on the ball and off his balls, and Heather’s arse, and her beautiful green eyes. He had to stop his mind from creating these images unless he wanted to set himself up for a one-way journey into endless amounts of pain.
Helena Stone can’t remember a life before words and reading. After growing up in a household where no holiday or festivity was complete without at least one new book, it’s hardly surprising she now owns more books than shelf space while her Kindle is about to explode.
The urge to write came as a surprise. The realisation that people might enjoy her words was a shock to say the least. Now that the writing bug has well and truly taken hold, Helena can no longer imagine not sharing the characters in her head and heart with the rest of the world.
Having left the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam for the peace and quiet of the Irish Country side she divides her time between reading, writing, long and often wet walks with the dog, her part-time job in a library, a grown-up daughter and her ever loving and patient husband.
Jamie could be the answer to what Ethan’s been missing his whole life–someone to depend on. But with the two competing for the same scholarship, things suddenly get too hot to handle. And if Jamie finds the strength to go for what he wants, he isn’t about to settle for what he needs.
Release Day for Strangers In The Night
It's been kind of a long journey getting here, but I can finally say, it's Release Day!
My first published piece, Strangers In The Night, is officially out there. Before the day gets completely away from me, as it so easily does these days, I wanted to at least document it for myself.
It's not the first piece I wrote, I'm still trying to finish self-edits on that one, but it's the first to be officially published. And it's the one I'll probably forever be able to say was the most fun to write. I still can't believe that first, nerve-wracking Skype session between Helena Stone and I ended with the beginning of this novella. We wrote it in eight laughter-filled days that I'll cherish forever. I can't even tell you how grateful I am to have Helena to share this experience with.
I spotted this picture somewhere the other day and I had to laugh out loud. It's so 'us' today. (I'm the bigger one on the left). The two of us are proud of our little story and want to take a bow and say, "ta daaaa!" As her husband pointed out when he saw this photo, we're also "going out on a limb." How true. Like these little creatures, we're a bit fragile, bracing ourselves for the first unkind words that we know will probably come - if not now - eventually.
But for this one moment, I'm just going to hold Helena's hand and enjoy the ride. Ready? 1-2-3...
Better Late Than Never
Better Late Than Never
“This has been the best weekend ever.”
“Yeah,” Kelly said, pulling on her boyfriend’s gray hoodie that was more dress than jacket on Kelly’s small frame.
“Hurry. The guys are waiting in the car. We have to check out at the main lodge by eleven a.m. and that’s like… ten minutes from now.” Brittany shoved her trademark stocking cap on her head, backwards as usual and snatched the cabin keys off the table before taking one more glance around. “Got everything? Let’s go.”
She waited by the door. Kelly stood rooted inside the now-dark cabin. Brittany looked at her. “Kel? What’s up? You ready?”
Kelly looked like she wanted to say something, but she continued to just stare at Brittany with a strange expression on her face.
“Kelly? Are you okay?”
Brittany’s words seemed to snap Kelly out of whatever funk she’d suddenly fallen into and she nodded. Brittany seized the opportunity and grabbed Kelly’s hand, pulling her toward the door at the same time Brad honked the car horn.
“Come on! We’ve gotta’ hurry or they’ll charge us for an extra day. The guys will go ballistic!” Brittany dropped Kelly’s hand to lock the cabin door and turned to follow Kelly down the steep staircase to the road where their boyfriends waited in the car.
Kelly waited for her where the steps ended and broken concrete paved the rest of the way. As Brittany drew along side, Kelly grabbed her hand and pulled her close, pressing her soft lips against Brittany’s, whose opened in surprise.
“I wanted to do that since the moment I met you,” Kelly whispered.
Brittany looked at Kelly in shock before turning her back to the waiting car of boys and pulling Kelly into her arms, kissing her with abandon.
“Then what took you so fucking long?” she whispered, pretending she didn’t hear the sound of two car doors opening behind her.
