The Binder

Galatians 5:1
1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Watercolors, acrylics, oil, and pastel all have beautiful colors, but what makes them possible isn't the hues produced. The thing that gives them their personality, and their existence, is the binder. That part of them that may have no color at all in some cases, gives them substance.

In other words, its the unseen part that holds them together. The binder gives Watercolor its transparency, acrylic its adaptability, and oil its light. Just as The Lord grants us righteousness, strength, and light. The very One that made us, holds us together.

He also gives us the strength to hold it together, regardless of the canvas He chooses to place us on. God did not cause the battle, but He chose the battleground. An much like an artist painting on location, He knows what the final masterpiece will look like.

An artist will sketch people and things around him, but only he or she decides what goes in the picture. Do not allow the circumstances of your situation to overwhelm you, or to shape you. Allow God to shape you in your circumstances, but know that He is the One crafting you.

What you face does not define you, holding to The One who is with you while facing it does. Know that He has bound you up in the cleft of His heart, and nothing can rob us of our victory when He hold on to Him! So allow Him to paint you in your situation today, and know that you're not backed into a corner, but a display of The Master's work!

Eddington Family, Justice, and Coffee

Sam started seeding the two stories for the groups that would form the "evidence" which would "convict" the Professor. At least in the eyes of the art world, because we didn't think we could stop him otherwise. This really bothered Michael, as the man was behind the murder of the Uncle of his fiancé.

Rather than focus on what we couldn't do, we did what we could, headed back home. It seemed uneventful, but the plan no longer needed us. All we had to do was protect the original artifacts that got us into this mess.

When you're so focused on your Plan, you forget something, having a plan doesn't mean your opponent gives up on his. Sam and Michael knew that, some how I lost sight of it. Until I ended up in a hospital from something more than food poisoning.

He tried it with Otecko too, but he's a much pickier eater. I know it sounds petty, but how did I become the punching bag of it all? I was contemplating this when Michael walked in.

"The Professor pulled something. The government was forced to force us to hand over the artifacts. Otherwise the Czech Republic would have withdrew their Ambassador."

"So we've lost? I get shot, I …" he held up his hand to stop me. "Relax, we actually won. The Professor thought he would get them home, away from us, and take them. We don't do things that way. We watch what we give up, and we put conditions on them."

"Not only are they on permanent display in the National Museum, they have to be authenticated every six months, by a rotating group of experts. Sam got that put in, to keep the Professor's hands off."

"So he won't try?" Michael winked. "No, so he will. On top of Sam's longer plans, we're adding some honey for the bear to try. If we can catch his hands in an attempt, we can arrest him for something. Then I can give my bride a really good wedding present, justice for her Uncle."

Family, justice, and coffee are important to the Stefaniak family. We would get the Professor, we had paid to high a price not to. The battle wasn't over, but we could see the light of day streaming in.

A Smile And A Song

Exodus 15:1
1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake, saying,
I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

Revelation 15:3
3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

These two verses mark the first and last time that a song is mentioned in Scripture. Each a song to God, each a song of victory and praise, and each mention a Man Of God.

In this case it was Moses. In the case of my life, when it comes to a song, it's Kenny Pruitt. Because of him, a song has been part of my days, all of my years. Which is funny, considering I can't carry a tune, but he always could.

I wasn't there early on, but I believe Dad just always sang. I don't remember a time that didn't involve, either a song, or him writing one. That part fascinated me. He could write a song, it seemed out of anything.

All of them, were like the ones in these verses, a praise to The God he loved, and taught me too as well. I can mark the periods of my life with lyrics. Each hold a special moment for me.

When I was little, it was him singing other people's words. There was the old song Lily Of The Valley. A little later, it was Stroll Over Heaven With You, and a recitation honoring his Dad. I love recitations because of this song.

Next, How Great Thou Art, and The Lighthouse. An yes, Kenny Pruitt is who taught me to love Kenny Hinson. Though that only took hitting the play button on the tape.

Then were his words, the songs Dad wrote I'll never forget. From Stumbling Blocks to Stepping Stones, to Our God Will Provide For His Own, each unforgettable to me. Every song, not only a praise, but a unique representation of Dad. He didn't plan it, but it's true.

In The Reason For The Chain, Dad showed his passion, for God, and for the ministry. Bishop Dean Livingston preached a masterpiece of a Message on the Apostle Paul, and Dad penned one of my favorites of his songs. Kenny Pruitt never kept a big organized file, just a small songbook with handwritten lyrics, the tune came from his heart.

How do you honor a Dad who's a singer and songwriter when you can't find a key, much less stay on it? You do what only those who can't in the presence of those who can, do, applaud. I've been cheering for my parents all of my life, learning, loving, and listening. A smile, and a song describe Dad about as good as anything could.

I didn't get your voice Dad, and you know I can't harmonize like Megan and Tyler. Still, neither one can clap louder or longer for you than me, they're too busy singing with you. I get to watch, listen, and enjoy the music. Happy Birthday Dad, we love you very much!

iPainting Windsor Castle

This iPainting is loosely based on the watercolors of Prince Charles of England. His watercolors have raised millions for charity.  Painters fascinate me, especially those who, while good artists, have other primary jobs, or interests.
