PruittWrites … A New Adventure

It is with a lot of excitement that PruittWrites.com is sharing their latest iteration. Growth involves change, and our goal is to continue to experience both. As a result, we are pleased to announce that PruittWrites.com is dropping the.com portion of our virtual presence.

Over the last few years the web has been changing. The pandemic highlighted the effect an online active presence can have for content creators. It also highlighted something else, an effective online identity is less connected to a static website than ever before.

A business needs a website, but an individual voice needs an online hub. Of all of the content creators I visit, I seldom arrive at a website. An Instagram page, a YouTube channel, these are today’s hotspots.

The goal of PruittWrites is to speak into the needs of those who connect with us. To be relevant we must change. We look forward to announcing more facets of our new online presence in the months ahead, but for today I would like to share three things.

The first you know, we are sunsetting our current site. Second, we are continuing to publish new books while also exploring video and audio projects. Thirdly, we invite you to join our virtual mailing list.

PruittWrites will always be writing and sharing images, but we feel this will allow us to do so in a better format. Please write us @ pruittwrites@gmail.com and let us know which of our categories you want to keep receiving. Whether that’s historical, art appreciation, the holidays, or our inspirational pieces, they’ll be arriving to you in our new flexible framework for the 21st century.

With Me In The Winepress – Ephesians 1:20-22

Ephesians 1:20-22 (ESV)
20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,
21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.
22 And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church,

In one sense verses twenty through twenty two are a continuation, but in another Paul gives us a word picture of Christ. God’s Spirit raised up His body and sat down in power. The Bible says God is a Spirit and has not flesh and blood, and that in Him we live and move and have our being. That He is not confined to one location, but is everywhere present and nowhere absent.

So God in the flesh sat down not physically to the right because The Word says that the fulness of the Godhead bodily dwells in Jesus. Here right hand, as it did throughout scripture, is a representation of power. Christ sits in Heaven on His throne in power just as Stephen saw Him before his death.

His reign is above every throne, king, president, government, and office spiritual or physical. All is beneath Him, every power. Because of this, and that He is our King, He is over all things to the Church, meaning there will never be a problem greater than our God. As Paul would say in another place, He will supply all my need according to His riches in glory. His riches, no matter what I am facing, He has what I need! We are His, and He is ours!

I can’t help but quote one more song that has given me comfort. “When the waves are over my head, they’re under His feet.” At times I get afraid, at times I get overwhelmed, and at times I need Him to carry me. Like Simon I may feel troubles attempt to pull me under, but also like Simon I feel a hand reaching out to lift me higher!
