Inktober Buddy

Today’s Inktober word is Buddy. After eleven years of marriage, I both love my wife, and love spending time with her. We are not only in love, we love each other’s company. Marriages are not built on attraction, relationships begin there, but they are cemented by sharing your lives together. I have to say I love Ashley Pruitt more today than the day I married her.

Inktober Dig Deeper Reach Higher

To build higher, you must dig deeper than you ever have before. Today’s Inktober challenge was the word dig. Foundations are the support for skyscrapers, and they must be deep.

Giant sequoias are impressive, but their root systems are awe inspiring. Great accomplishments may result in an event, but they are founded on consistent days and nights of commitment. Faithfulness on the mountain’s edges, results in a summit experience!

I Remember The Night

Thirty two years ago tonight, my best friend Lucian and I received The Holy Ghost while Bishop Spencer McCool was preaching a Revival. Now, for those who are not believers, they ask what does that mean. It means, that God came into my life in a very real, and present way.

That doesn’t mean that battles are easy, it doesn’t mean that some days are not hard, but it does mean that I’m never alone. When I don’t understand, I have His hand to hold me. When I don’t know where to go, I have His guidance to lead me. Whenever my world is shaken, He is the tower that protects me.

Over those thirty two years, I’ve been called to the Ministry. I’ve moved to a new region, I’ve married, we went through the struggle to become parents, and I became a Father. During all of these things, there was uncertainty about the situation, but I knew that God would never fail me.

Because of my Faith, I have a bride to hold hands with. Because of my Faith, I have a child to hold. Because of my Faith, He holds me through the storms of 2020. I believe that we didn’t get here by an accident. I don’t think we’re a few generations from amoebas. I can’t see how civilizations rose without someone hanging the stars in place.

If you’re reading this, and you agree that the odds of us getting here by accident are too astronomical, then that means someone set us here. If someone set us here, the question is Who. I would point you to the only empty grave that is still empty after over 2,000 years.

Christ is Who He claims to be. This world didn’t get here by accident, and neither did you. His desire is to give us all life, and hope, just as He gave me all those years ago. This world is full of uncertainty, but some things are certain. God loves you, He loves us all, and He will do for you what He has done for me, if we only ask!

Inktober Ripcord

Today’s Inktober prompt was rip, so I went with ripcord. Many have heard the story of the parachute packer, even more know what happens when you use a parachute ripcord. However I’ve seen many times when a loved one was my ripcord.

People have launched me. They’ve been my ripcord into so many dreams that I would not have ever had the opportunity to try on my own. Help someone today, launch their tomorrow!

iPainting Eagle On Ocean

I love Eagles. This one was painted using Procreate. Of course when I think of Eagles, I think of the USA, and no I do not get into politics. A lot of people are like this Eagle on the ocean right now. They see shadows, and shifting waves, and no one knows where everything is going to land.

I will say this though, the shifting waves and shadows may reflect the Eagle, but they do not define it. It’s outline affects them, not the other way around. Regardless of what happens, we are still the country that everyone counted out in 1776.

We’re still the country where a log splitter became the Great Emancipator. Also, we’re still the country who saw farm boys, hicks from Tennessee like me, and people from Maine, California, and Iowa defeat Hitler. Men like Neil Armstrong, Jackie Robinson, and women like Helen Keller and Ella Fitzgerald. This great Eagle on the ocean, will surprise you, and soar higher than you may ever expect.

Inktober Chef

Today’s inktober warranted a little bit of color. Chefs are colorful in themselves, a little humor, a little salt, and a little time. A great recipe for life actually, and not just soup. When you season some ones day with them, it makes any situation more appetizing!

Inktober Sleep

Sleep is the Inktober prompt for today. This year has disturbed a lot of people’s sleep. It’s difficult to turn your brain off when your anxiety is so loud. Ever wish you could just go back to being a kid when everything was simple?

The truth of it is, back then wasn’t simple either. There were things we didn’t know, and that was ok. We we’re fine with not being in control. Maybe it’s less about our age, and more about letting go. What if we stop worrying about what we can’t do? It just may improve our sleep, and give us the rest and clarity necessary, to do what we can.

Inktober iPainting Coral

He placed beauty in every corner of creation, even in the Coral under the oceans, for us to discover. The Lord cared so much about you and I that He didn’t leave out one detail. What an amazing God, and He cares just as much about our needs today. If you have a problem, The Maker Of The Oceans is just a prayer away.

Inktober The Dizzy Gillespie

This Inktober they did a repeat prompt, Dizzy. So here’s a new iPainting of who I think of when I hear Dizzy. Mr Dizzy Gillespie did amazing things musically, but I first knew of him from the Muppet Show, yet I learned more about him as I grew older.

If you teach children, whether in school, ministry, or in something such as art lessons, never assume they’re not listening. It may seem that way, but little escapes them. One day something they learned from a tv show, may develop into a lifelong pursuit.

Inktober Trap Door

Today’s Inktober word was trap, so I drew a trap door. Unlike a trap, a trap door is a friend, if you’re a magician that is. It’s built into the act. It’s a way of getting out of some sticky situations.

God said with every tribulation, or trial, He would make a way of escape. If you’re in a battle, don’t ask if there’s a way out, ask God to show you the way out. He is The Door to any locked room, whether it’s a problem, addiction, or circumstance, He will always bring us out, if we ask. He will wait until the right moment, but at the appropriate time I promise you, The Door will open!
