I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I’ll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died – weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn’t have to be alone.
That time in my life was terrible. It’s everything you imagine times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have her ripped away so suddenly broke me.
Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness – it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon announced their brand new ereader. She had no idea the Kindle was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it...Never happened.
Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to know my writing partner. I would have never gotten through those dark days without her unwavering support and guidance. There wasn’t a time she wasn’t there for me. For the first time, I used the hand offered. I know without question I wouldn’t be here today without her. It takes a special person to stand beside someone at a time like that. I will love her forever. I could go on and on about both of them, but I won’t and now you know a little more About Us.

My bad luck first started six months ago, when I discovered my boyfriend, Jason, had been cheating on me. I suppose if you asked my mother though, she’d say my bad luck had started two and half years ago, when I started dating Jason. My parents never liked him.

CLICK, An online Love Story

I first met my husband while wearing my pajamas.  Really!  No, we weren't at some kinky singles party.  I was sitting comfortably in my apartment and he was hanging out in his.  But, I will never forget his email introduction via an online dating service, which invited me to check out his profile.  It was sweet, endearing and intriguing enough for me to log on to learn more about him.  After a week of emails, followed by a week of phone calls, we met for our first date - a traditional dinner and movie outing.  Even before I opened the door to greet him, I knew he was "the one."  Considering he lived 30 miles away, I'm not certain our paths would have typically crossed.  But after nearly 13 years together - including 10 years of marriage (which in Los Angeles is apparently no small feat!) and two beautiful daughters, I have no doubt he is my soul mate. 
After my now-husband and I met online, I was recalling some of the hilarious experiences that I had during the whole online dating experience.  How could I forget the guy who started every story (no joke!) with “My buddies and I were out drinking one night.”   I decided to capture some of them in writing and, from there and based loosely on my own experiences, my novel Click: An Online Love Story emerged.  The entire story is told in emails between our heroine, Renee Greene, her three best friends and the gentlemen suitors she meets online.  The format felt like a modern way to tell the story that fit the topic, and allowed readers to develop an intimate relationship with the characters.
Clearly, I’m a big fan of online dating and find it to be a useful tool for young professionals who are busy working and finding it difficult to make the right connection at the gym, bar, coffee shop or grocery aisle.  I say, people today are “married” to their cell phones and laptops, so why not use that technology to really get married, right?While Click doesn’t end with a wedding (sorry for the spoiler!), during Renee’s road to happiness, we find many advantages to online dating.  My five favorite are:
·         On Your Own Terms – Online dating provides a relaxed, anytime and on your own terms experience.  Share as little or as much information as you want.  Avoid people you are not interested in.  Communicate at your convenience.   But, don’t send a message at 2:30 am.  Nothing smacks more of desperation than an email from someone trolling the Internet for a date in the wee hours of the morning. 
·         Multi-Tasking Enabled – Flirt while filing your taxes.  Chat and trim your nails.  Meet a mate while making breakfast.  It’s a well-known fact that women are great multi-taskers.  Take full advantage of that skill.  As Shelley, the over-sexed character in Click says to the about-to-try-online-dating Renee, “A whole host of hot and horny single men that I can review, chat with, judge and mock – all while sitting in my office looking very busy.  Maybe I should give it a try myself.”

·         Trade the “Meat Market” for the “Meet Market” – Now you can avoid the “meat market” scene of bars and clubs and instead enjoy a “meet market” – an international bazaar (but let’s hope not too bizarre) of prospective mates.  The Internet allows you to make an online introduction to thousands if not millions of people around the world.  So, if you want to meet someone in Katmandu, well then, can do!
·         Save Time, Money and Energy – Let’s face it.  Dating isn’t cheap.   It takes time, money and, likely your most valuable and scarce resource, energy.   With the “try before you buy” environment of online dating, you don’t have to meet for a drink, grab a coffee or sit through a long dinner only to discover there’s no physical attraction, you have nothing in common, conversation is lacking, etc.     
·         Rejection Made Easy – In Click, Renee gets an email from someone halfway across the world looking to meet someone willing to move for him.  After sending a polite and diplomatic “thanks but no thanks” email message, she proclaims to her friend, “It’s so much easier to reject someone over that Internet than in real life.  Score one for online dating!”   While rejection is easier for both parties when done online, it’s important to remember that people still have feelings.

Good morning folks!  I hope everyone is bright eyed and bushy tailed!  I still have red eyes, and aching fingers from two days of incredible fun thanks to the Tears of Crimson debut.  I can say that I've never had so much fun or been more mentally exhausted!  To all the people that came out to help with the event, and the incredible readers and friends that turned out, thank you from the bottom of my heart!  We had so much fun we've decided to make it an annual event.

If you're on facebook, we've continued the event over in a group because we didn't want people to ever have to go home.  It's open 24/7 with a fully staffed bar and coffee for those of you that don't drink.  Feel free to stop in and fill up on great conversation, and a lot of fun when the sun goes down too!

C T Todd grew up in south eastern Pennsylvania. Loving horror movies, books, comics and cartoons like Scooby Doo. A nightmare in 2008 sparked the idea for me to write the Neesa vampire series. Nature and hiking and hanging out with my friends are some of my favorite pastimes. I take my note book with me everywhere. I never know when something will inspire me. I like to write my book scenes right on location and visualize whats happening. Funny thing is, lot's of people have come up to me asking "are you drawing a picture?" "No I'm a writer, just visualizing." I answer and smile. Day and weekend trips are part of the fun of writing for me. Many great authors inspire me. I love indie books, there are so many good authors out there and I've friend-ed quite a few. I love my fans they are so awesome and friendly.

I was raised on the Outer Banks of North Carolina for most of my life before moving to the coldest place on earth – North Dakota.  :)    I am married to a wonderful hero of my own and we have two heroes-in-training and an angel daughter.  I work as a medical coder/receptionist at a local hospital, an usher for a local concert hall, a full time college student, and I am an active blogger/writer.I have always been a reader and discovered my first romance novel at the age of ten.  There was no turning back after that!  I stuck to historical/contemporary novels for the longest time.  Slowly, I broke out of my niche and delved into paranormal.  That has become my go to genre for the last several years.
In late 2012, I was notified that I had been selected to be an Avon Addict.  This is an exclusive group that Avon publishing selects to read and review books.  This was the catalyst that got my writing ball rolling.  I had tinkered with a blog but hadn’t really done anything with it.  Since I was reviewing books for Avon, it made sense to have my own place to do it.  Thus, Romancebookworm’s Reviews was born. 
I met a lot of new and wonderful people when I started reviewing and a few of them talked me into National Novel Writing Month or NaNoWriMo.  The purpose is 30 days/50,000 words.  That is how my debut novel, Everlasting Hunger was born.  I was so excited to finish my book, and then it just languished.  My blog exploded and there was no time to work on anything else.  My blog has turned into more than I could ever dream of and it has allowed me to follow my dream of writing.Check out my Contact page for the different ways to get up with me.  :)

Tears of Crimson Interview with Brandy Dorsch
TOC:  Welcome back to Tears Brandy!  Everlasting Hunger really blew us away.  So tell us, when will the second book in this series come to life?

Brandy:  Thanks for having me back to TOC!  I have seriously missed you guys!  I am currently working hard on book two of the series which I have tentatively named, Wicked Desire.  You guys get to learn that first!  I am hoping to have it out around the first of the year but sooner if the Muse moves me.  I will have a short story in an anthology called The Stroke of Midnight, come out on December 26th.  It will involve the characters from Everlasting Hunger.
TOC:  Halloween is a great time to discuss all our favorite immortal creatures.  Why do you think vampires have become the hottest trend of them all?

Brandy:  Honestly because they are sexy as hell and live forever!  Vampires draw on the things that we fear the most such as growing old, disease or fading looks and make them vanish.  The vampires have become such a hot trend because they are beautiful creatures with desire, wealth, danger and a sexual energy that draws people to them.  I think most people see past the call of blood to the desire for immortality.
TOC:  I don’t want to give too much away for those who haven’t read the book, but where did you come up with the idea of humans being drinks?  

Brandy:  I wrote EH during National Novel Writing Month last year.  I spent the first week of November writing utter garbage.  It made no sense at all.  My youngest son, Xander, asked me what I was doing and I told him that I was writing a book but I didn’t know what to write about.  He told me to write about what I enjoy reading.  He was right.  I started writing what came to mind and but couldn’t figure out how to make my characters different.  Xander asked me if I wanted a drink, a light bulb went off and my Drinks were born.
TOC:  Over the years we’ve seen a transformation in vampires from horrifying monsters into sexy desirous creatures that everyone wants to find.  Which do you think in the real world would be closer to the truth?

Brandy:  I think that if they were horrifying monsters they would have been found out a long time ago.  It seems to me that they would have to be able to blend in with us in order to survive for as long as they have.  We have seen over the centuries that some people don’t like those that are different so they would have found ways to intertwine their lives and culture with ours.
TOC:  Tell us a little more about your book, Everlasting Hunger.  Was it based on legends or just your own personal desire of what the vampire community could be like?

Brandy:  This book was all for me.  When I wrote it I never had any intention of publishing it.  Some amazingly talented folks read it and encouraged me to put it out there.  We all have to start somewhere.
TOC:  When you were writing Everlasting Hunger was there one thing that seemed to drive your creativity more?

Brandy:  Music.  Music seems to decide what and how I write.  I actually had chapters that flowed with whatever I was listening to.  
TOC:  Tell us a little more about your main characters in the book and how you feel they work within the story.

Brandy:  First of all, my characters answer to themselves and they make no apologies for it.  Ian Lochlan is CEO of Lochlan Medical and happens to be the oldest vampire in the Mid-west region.  He runs things and is co-owner of the vampire bar, Everlasting Hunger.  Vampires have come out in my society but there are always people who don’t like change.  Jasper is Ian’s right hand man and the general manager at the bar.  Ian turned Jasper and the guys have been together for over four hundred years.  Ellie Dawson is the HR manager at Lochlan Medical and has had a crush on Ian.  These three make up the core of the first book but there are more characters that add to the action.  Ian believes that Ellie is his Hunger Mate which is the term used to describe the person who can quench the never-ending thirst that vampires face.  A human can satisfy them temporarily but it is not the same satisfaction received from someone that is bonded to them.  Hunger Mates can speak to each other telepathically, sense emotions and the sex is off the charts!
TOC:  If you had to choose one character out of your book that could make you give up your immortal soul, which would it be and why?

Brandy:  Jasper.  When I started writing the book, I had no intention of his character going in the direction it went but he wanted to be a bigger part of the story and I rolled with it.  He was willing to risk everything and there is just something about that that makes my toes quiver.  His passion, heart and sexiness is enough for me to give up my soul for. J
TOC:  How about the ultimate question.  Do you think vampires exist and would you take the bite of immortality if offered?

Brandy:  Who am I to say they don’t exist?  There is so much in this world we still haven’t discovered yet.  I would like to believe that they are.  If I was given the choice of immortality I would take it.  There is so much that I want to see and do in this world and one lifetime is not enough.
