Cover Reveal - Clare James (Talk to Me & Just Listen)

Title: Talk to Me & Just ListenSeries: Public Lives #1 & #2Author: Clare JamesGenre: Sports RomanceRelease Date: Available NowCover Design: Perfect Pear Creative Covers
Talk to Me
*Caution: This story contains explicit sex scenes with an alpha hockey player … who gives an entirely new meaning to the term Body Checking. *
Finn Daley took the world by storm two years ago when he was drafted by the NHL. The young, handsome, high-scoring player quickly became a fan favorite. He had everything going for him: fame, fortune, a promising career, and his pick of women. But when he made an abrupt exit from the NHL last spring, everything changed and he’s been in hiding ever since.
Casey Scott plans to find out why.
After interning for free all summer at the top television station in the Twin Cities, Casey lands an on-air gig. Trouble is, the new role is Sports Girl—which means reporting from local bars and tailgating parties to create excitement for the hometown heroes. All while wearing tiny team jerseys that are so tight they leave little to the imagination.
But she has a plan. Uncover the biggest sports mystery of the decade, and she’ll be on her way. Question is, how far will she go to get the story?

Just Listen
*Caution: Just Listen contains explicit sex scenes between an alpha hockey player trying to begin a new life and an ambitious reporter who will do just about anything to get her story … Conflict of Interest doesn’t even begin to describe the trouble these two get into.*
Aspiring reporter Casey Scott knows it was unethical to get involved with retired hockey star, Finn Daley, but she did it anyway. Happily. She also knows that she should tell him about her assignment, but she can’t seem to do it. No matter how many times she tries. With Finn, Casey experiences intimacy, pleasure, pain, comfort, and a strange sort of stability. Things she’s not yet willing to give up.
But when she finally uncovers his secret, the decision she has to make is harder than she ever imagined.
For Finn, his past, present, and future are colliding. And when he discovers the truth about the woman he’s grown to love, and the one he let get away, his world comes shattering down around him. With everything on the line, there’s only one person who can help. But is it too late?
Just Listen is the gripping conclusion of Finn and Casey’s story that began in Talk to Me.

Just About Healing - Victoria Escobar

Just About Healing Losing Grace # 1 By- Victoria Escobar Genre- NA Contemporary
My sister was my lifeline, my beacon, my North Star. I could rely on her, depend on her, turn to her when the world was just too hard to face. She could depend on me for the same.

I laughed with her; cried with her; rejoiced her success; and part of me died with her too. I lived for her, loved no one greater than her. Without Savannah, I had no one to turn to, no one to share my soul with. My other half, closer than twins we were, was just gone.
Grief broke my soul and crushed my heart to dust. I didn’t know how to put the pieces back together. I wasn’t sure I even want to without her. How could I live knowing she would never share anything with me again?
Time, supposedly, heals all wounds. I don't believe that. But I do know there are other ways to heal. I just had to find them.

About the Author-Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but with the ability to claim eight states as home; Victoria Escobar writes fiction from her current home in New York. She writes whatever comes to mind and because of such has a variety of genres written including Young Adult, New Adult, Paranormal, Urban Fantasy, and Contemporary Fiction.
In spare time if not with family, and friends Victoria enjoys curling up with a book from a favorite author with music playing. If not reading or writing she spends time drawing, sketching, crocheting, or some other random art project. She enjoys staying busy, but most of all enjoys staying creative.

My "WTF" Thoughts about Fifty Shades of Grey

First let me say that I think E.L. James is brilliant.  I have no idea what magic she wielded to make the entire world drop everything and start talking about her book, but that's a dream for any author. Obviously it wasn't the first kink book out there, but it was the first to make headline news.  As a fiction read, hate it or love it, it obviously resonated with readers.  Myself included.  With all that out of the way, down to my WTF moments in both the movie and book.

First WTF!  An abused kid, grows into an abused teenager who in turn grows up to abuse women. Not an original story by any means, how many people do you know (or read about in papers, news, etc.) that blamed their dastardly deeds on mommy or daddy issues?  Ana and Christian's relationship was abusive from any standpoint (including the BDSM community). He sought out submissive's that reminded him of crack ho mommy.  Enough said.

Let me just lay it out there for you.  If a man decides he has this NEED to beat women because of his past, that's a red light that should send any submissive running for the door so fast that you'd think the hounds of hell were on her heels.  Period.  End of discussion, you don't get to explain why you are the way you are.

Second WTF! In a line of WTF.  The beating scene with the belt.  Where he decides to show her how bad it can be for her to make a decision?  Really.  I mean come on, really?

I seriously wanted to take the belt from his hands and smack him in the face with it.  Not because the belt was such a horrible instrument of pain, but because of WHY he did it.  Ana's version of I'm a spoiled brat and show me what you could do was almost as stupid as him doing it.  Who's the Dom in that relationship?  Christian was a lost little boy looking for a way out from under the misery that he never got over from childhood, and Ana?  There was no pity from me for her in that scene because if you're idiotic enough to ask to be beaten, well you kind of get what you get.

They both needed a life counselor, not a BDSM relationship.  Although a Master who knew how to work through mental issues might have worked for both of them.  This scene (both book and movie) just irked me beyond belief!

Final WTF!  Because I'm getting angry writing this and that's never a place I enjoy writing from.  Nothing in this book and movie shows a healthy BDSM relationship.  NOTHING.  If you were a novice to BDSM before reading or watching the movie, forget everything you read and heard unless it's just entertainment value for you.  A REAL relationship in that lifestyle would never allow the abuses that occurred.  Domestic violence would be a better label than BDSM.

Here's my pet peeve,  Fifty Shades of Grey was not an accurate portrayal of BDSM.  If you think it is, then 1.) You've never had a relationship that was based on power exchange or 2.) You were in an abusive relationship and need to seek counselling because that's not the way it happens.  Mutual consent, trust, and sanity.  That's the reality of a relationship in the BDSM lifestyle.  For the naysayers please feel free to point out where those three things happened in the Christian/Ana scenario.

Christian wasn't able to Master himself, so how in the hell could he be a Master to her?  He couldn't.

I enjoyed the books, the movie *rolls eyes* it was a good way to pass some time with my sister. If you can read or watch the movie understanding it's all a demented fairy tale, then absolutely. But if for one minute you think that's the reality of a BDSM relationship, you need to do some serious fact checking.  On a positive all the negative comments about BDSM thanks to this inspired my muse.  If you want to read a book that actually deals with reality in that world, feel free to check out Cherished.

S.N.Graves was born in the South and can’t see calling anyplace without a Waffle House home.  She earned her M.F.A. in Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University in 2014 and is a senior editor at Loose Id LLC.
It was either write or become the world’s lamest super villain and cat lady, so S.N.Graves focused all her spinster energy into tormenting her characters instead of laying siege to the world with monkey assassins and satanic subliminal messages in cute cat videos. She is happily married to the self-proclaimed victim of Stockholm syndrome, David Graves, and enjoys duct taping her two teenage sons to a chair and forcing them to read all the ugly first drafts of her urban fantasy books.

Dominated or Cherished?

I get it! The thought of a hot dominant man taking control is a fantasy for many women (and men). Throw in the fact that he's a billionaire and you've got a recipe for one delicious wet dream.  We can argue all day long about how far women have come, and how they don't need some alpha male taking over and telling them what to do.  BUT!  It's pretty obvious from the multi-million dollar industry from books like Fifty Shades of Grey that women still secretly fantasize about surrendering to a strong, powerful, man.

Like I said, I get it!  What I don't understand, and let me just say that I loved reading Fifty Shades, is why a woman would want a dominant man that feels the need to beat her to calm his own demons. Christian (in the books) was smoking hot, and intriguing,  Had I been Ana, I may have wanted to fall down on my knees to please him.  Thankfully, he's not a real person but there any many out there just like him.  Yes ladies (and gentlemen) rich (okay maybe not AS rich as he was) powerful men that play in the world of BDSM.  Think I'm pulling your leg?  I'm not.  Can I prove it?  Yes.  But I won't. Here's why.  While I loved the premise of Fifty Shades, having a Master that's not in control of the skeletons in his closet would be my LAST choice as Dominant.  Sure, it's tempting,  It's also insane!

I'm not saying that BDSM is insane, but choosing a Master that can't master himself definitely is.  I could give any man with mental issues a red room of pain, and label him as a dominant.  What he'd really be is an abuser.  Reading the books several red flags were flown up, not the least that Christian only chose a submissive that reminded him of his neglectful mother and abusive past.  WHOA! If I was interviewing with a Dominant that would have send me running like the hounds of hell were at my heels!  Of course Ana didn't discover that particular demon until after becoming involved.

Putting your life, and that's basically what you're doing the minute you allow a man to tie you up, in a persons hands without absolute trust and tons of research into his psyche? That's just insane!  Having said all that, a person can have a very healthy relationship exploring the world of pleasure and pain. That's the premise of Cherished.  It comes from a very different background and shows the positive influence a Master can have on a submissive.  The loving dominant.  What a concept (gasps)!

I label this book as realistic fiction, for reasons I won't divulge, but when you lose yourself in the world of Luca and Gina, you'll discover a new insight into the world of BDSM.  Of course there's plenty of passionate, hot, steamy sex, I'm a romance writer, but the message I hope readers take from it?  The mindset of the couple.  Any man can tie a woman up, make her defenseless, and abuse her body.  That in no way makes him a Master.  Come along for the ride and discover what it feels like to be Cherished.

Luca Phillips dropped me to my knees with a promise …

He was sexy and confident, absolutely brilliant and Luca wanted me.  I was infatuated from the first conversation, wanting to be what he needed.  For the first time in my life I understood what it meant to desire.  All he demanded was my trust.  I’d been broken by my past and doubted I could give that gift, no matter how badly I craved him.

Luca’s world was dark when looking in from the outside, but the light in his eyes promised something more.  Hope.  Together we could change the downward spiral my life was taking.  His words.

Kneeling at his feet, handing over control, he asked one question.  How far are you willing to go to be…. Cherished

Inside the Lines - Ally Bishop

 Inside the Lines

What happens in love might destroy you…

Or remake you all together.

I make a living offering men and women their ultimate fantasies…as submissives of the mysterious Mistress Hathaway.

I’ve never surrendered to anyone. That’s not the way it works. Or rather, not the way I operate.

But when the gorgeous Fin MacKenzie shows up in my life, he throws everything out of balance.

Now I’m not sure who I am anymore, and I’m questioning everything.

What woman can turn away from a gorgeous Scotsman, especially when he sets her body on fire and her heart ablaze?

I have to stop it…us. I can’t keep going like this. It will ruin everything I’ve worked so hard to build.

Who am I if I surrender to him? Worse yet, who am I if I don’t?

Ally Bishop

"When you do something effortlessly and people commend you continuously, you have found your gift. That’s what I tell people all the time. And it’s true. I get story. I always have. I started writing when I was 8 on a Smith Corona (the electronic kind — I’m not THAT old). I wrote stories in every spiral notebook I had.
Eventually, I graduated to a Mac (yes, I’m one of THOSE people.

I imagined new worlds, emotional conflicts, and HEAs while I waited at stoplights or wandered the grocery store. But here’s the
thing: I didn’t just dream it up and write it down — I critiqued
what I read. I knew when ideas were good, and when they stunk. Iran writing groups, judged creative contests, and eventually got
two graduate degrees in writing. That’s right: I love it that much.
So here I am, years later, writing kickass heroines and devastatinggood guys, along with some mystery and vampires thrown in
(I promise: THEY’RE COMING). And what’s really cool? I do
what I love. Wanna write a success story for your life: I promise
you, that’s it. Do what you love. And hopefully, you can make
a living at it too. That’s the golden ticket, Charlie and chocolate doesn’t hurt, either…"

"please just let me live to see a sleep in Saturday morning" kind of weeks.  How have I kept myself going?  Humor, of course.  If this week has lasted longer than your sisters last wedding, maybe you'll enjoy a little fun too.  Tears of Crimson didn't create these, and the copyright belongs with the copyright holder.  That being said.... enjoy!!!
