+ Praise for Reg Rawlins Psychic Detective Series
—Another great work of art by Ms. Workman. I am amazed at the diversity of her writing and how much I really enjoy them all. She can write cozy mystery, YA books that should be read by all, medical thrillers, Zach Goldman series and now a paranormal series. I am so glad to have found this author. I am honored that I get to read them early also.
—This book has all my favourite things: heart, great writing, nearly-flawless editing, something unusual in the air, and a cat. I needed a light read, and this fit the bill perfectly. Recommended.
—This book actually surprised me. I knew that a psychic cat would be entertaining. I just didn’t expect it to be this good. You really do get wrapped up in the people and story. It sounds like a fairly gentle story, but there is a lot of suspense involved. Add a bunch of humor to the mix and you are in for a treat. I love the characters. Wish I had some friends like them. And the cat is so very well done. Acts like a typical cat, but a lot smarter than his human. This is a story that you don’t want to put down.
—Extremely well written as are all of P.D. Workman’s books, the characters well developed. I’m a character reader, I get into the characters. Who and what they are. Why they do the things they do. The things that make a reader get invested into the characters and thereby the book. I look forward to P.D. Workman’s next book.
—P D Workman has done it again; created a cast of characters and a storyline that are captivating and enthralling. Once I started this cozy I didn’t want to put it down (which can be a bad thing when you have a family to take care of…lol). I can’t wait for the other books in this series. I think Reg is going to turn out to be one of my favorite new characters. Pick up your copy as soon as possible.

— an amazing and suspenseful story. It carries you away into a psychological tailspin that keeps you going in so many different directions.
— A really good piece of detective fiction with some novel and original features which keep the reader guessing until the last few pages.
— I love the way the investigation plays out…very interesting. That is done very well. It held my interest. I very much wanted to find out the outcome…
— Very well written. [Zachary] is flawed with a capital F … In spite of his problems, he is a very sympathetic character and doggedly pursues the truth.
— [She Wore Mourning] made for a pleasant read while presenting an interesting story.
— What a great story. Fabulous plot with interesting and complex characters. I was totally involved into the wee hours. Many twists and left waiting until the end. Highly recommended
— Wow! I just finished it. In one day! I could not stop reading it! This book grabs hold of you from the start. It’s a very well written detective novel. It pulls you not the story and is very emotional. You feel for the characters. This is the first novel I have read by this author but it will not be my last. I highly recommend this book.

Virtually Harmless audiobook available
I’m very excited to have my new audiobook out. It’s been a long time since I had audio produced, but I have jumped back in with Virtually Harmless. Melissa Kay Benson was a dream to work with, and I really love her production of Virtually Harmless. Her voices are so close to the voices in my head, and she nails all of the sarcasm and humour, making me laugh at my own jokes.

Micah is closing in on a killer. But her investigation draws the killer’s attention, and she finds herself in the middle of an operation that could mean the end of her career—or worse, her life.
From USA Today Bestselling Author, P.D. Workman, comes a gripping techno-thriller, part of a multi-author series tied together by an interlocking cast of characters, all centered around the fantastic new promise of high technology and the endless possibilities for crime that technology offers, in a world where getting away with murder can be not only plausible, but easy… if you just know how…
Micah lived a quiet, comfortable life, her involvement in law enforcement limited to the composite pictures that she produced with her computer and colored pencils.
But everything is turned upside down when she involves herself in the case of an infant found abandoned in the Sweetgrass Hills.
With the help of her knowledge of DNA and law enforcement contacts across the country, Micah is closing in on a killer. But her investigation draws the killer’s attention, and she finds herself in the middle of an operation that could mean the end of her career—or worse, her life.
★★★★★”I love everything Mrs. Workman writes but this stands out on its own I can’t imagine how much research went into this book . I hope this isn’t the last of this series.“
★★★★★”P. D. Workman has outdone herself with this riveting techno-thriller featuring Micah Miller, a forensic artist specializing in composite renderings based on forensic DNA phenotyping … I highly recommend this absorbing and thoroughly enjoyable thriller to anyone who favors CSI, NCIS, Cold Case, Forensic Files or any high-tech inspired crime-solving theme.
★★★★★”Wow! This book is so good. So much suspense. I hope to read more of what Micah will be doing next.“

Excerpt from After Anna
My set of the first three books in the Auntie Clem’s Bakery series is on sale at $0.99 for a few days more. Of course, I’m happy to have you buy them for full price, but if you want to get started on the series without a big investment, this is your chance.

I hope you enjoyed my Kitchen Klutzes post on the weekend. I love the graphic.
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme. Read the rules and more teasers at The Purple Booker. Anyone can play along.
I have just started After Anna by Lisa Scottoline. Scottoline writes some amazing plots. In this book, there are two point of views, Maggie’s, which is running forward in time from when she meets Anna, and Noah’s, which is running backward in time from the point at which his verdict will be read. At some point they will intersect, and I will have the full story. Or almost. Maybe. Being able to tell two stories from two different viewpoints and reveal the plot points in just the right order is an amazing talent.
“Anna, is it really you?” Maggie felt like shouting for joy. She couldn’t believe it was really happening. She’d prayed she’d hear from Anna someday. It was her last thought every night, though she kept it to herself, a secret heartache.
Lisa Scottoline, After Anna

Dr. Noah Alderman, a widower and single father, has remarried a wonderful woman, Maggie Ippolitti, and for the first time in a long time, he and his young son are happy. Despite her longing for the daughter she hasn’t seen since she was a baby, Maggie is happy too, and she’s even more overjoyed when she unexpectedly gets another chance to be a mother to the child she thought she’d lost forever, her only daughter Anna.
Maggie and Noah know that having Anna around will change their lives, but they would never have guessed that everything would go wrong, and so quickly. Anna turns out to be a gorgeous seventeen-year-old who balks at living under their rules, though Maggie, ecstatic to have her daughter back, ignores the red flags that hint at the trouble brewing in a once-perfect marriage and home.
Events take a heartbreaking turn when Anna is murdered and Noah is accused and tried for the heinous crime. Maggie must face not only the devastation of losing her daughter, but the realization that Anna’s murder may have been at the hands of a husband she loves. In the wake of this tragedy, new information drives Maggie to search for the truth, leading her to discover something darker than she could have ever imagined.

National Kitchen Klutzes Day
I have written a lot of posts about some serious social issues. With everything that is going on in the world today, I thought that a lighter post was in order this time.
June 13 is National Kitchen Klutzes of America Day!
I’m sure there isn’t anyone who has never had an accident while preparing food, unless they have never prepared anything. But some of us are more skilled—or more klutzy—than others.
Here are a few quotes from pages celebrating Kitchen Klutzes Day:
National Kitchen Klutzes of America Day is dedicated to everyone who has ever been a klutz in the kitchen. Some of you may have knocked a mixing bowl on the floor when you were stirring it. Some of you may have put the wrong ingredients in a recipe, burnt your creation to a crisp, or cut off your fingers. This day is for all of you. It is a day to remind you that it is okay to be a klutz in the kitchen, at least for a day.
checkiday.com
Are you the person who spills the milk? Are you the person who knocks the dish off the counter and breaks it? Well my accident-prone friends today is your day. On Kitchen Klutzes of America Day it’s ok to be klutzy. Yep that’s right! If you broke a dish today then be creative and crafty. Pick up the pieces and glue them on something and have some fun. Maybe you could make yourself a mosaic picture, frame or flower pot. Either way just know that spills and breaks don’t matter at all today. We are all good at cleaning up the messes in life right? Just enjoy yourself and…. if you see someone be klutzy in the kitchen today… don’t be mean by making them feel bad. Accidents happen all the time so live today on the lighter side of life.
homestead.com
This day is for the mom who cut herself in a knife-skills class she was bought as a gift so that she’d learn to stop cutting herself in the kitchen.
This day is for the girl who couldn’t figure out why her challah dough wasn’t rising, later realizing she used salt instead of sugar.
This day is for the aspiring pumpkin pie maker who dropped a pumpkin down the stairs as a last resort after unsuccessfully trying to slice it with a knife.
NBC News
These are the people who set out with the intentions of Paula Dean or Julia Child as the open up the cookbook. Setting out the mixing bowl and ingredients, they imagine knife cuts as swift as Wolfgang Puck or Bobby Flay. However, reality quickly dissolves all those dreams as smoke billows from the oven and salt is mistaken for sugar. Those knife cuts become bloody, and cookies and fingers are burnt. The Kitchen Klutz has struck, and visions of spilled milk are pitifully cried over.

These cozy mysteries by P.D. Workman have more twists and turns than a woodland path! They are well-plotted and the characters are believable. These three books are the beginning of a great series.
Sandy, Amazon reader
Erin Price is a baker, not a sleuth. It’s really not her fault that mysteries keep landing in her lap while she’s trying to run Auntie Clem’s Bakery and make a living from baking gluten-free and specialty goods.
Sink your teeth into these sweet mysteries!
This ebook includes the first three books in this series:
1. Gluten-Free Murder
2. Dairy-Free Death
3. Allergen-Free Assignation
Gluten-Free Murder
The grand opening of Auntie Clem’s Bakery is marred by just one thing, the death of Erin’s business rival, Angela Plaint. It appears that Angela was poisoned by one of Erin’s cupcakes, making her a prime suspect.
Dairy-Free Death
The peaceful life that Erin had pictured in Bald Eagle Falls remains elusive as her family’s past. And then her own past comes knocking on her door…
Allergen-Free Assignation
Erin is happy to be dabbling in a murder that this time is too old and too cold for her to be considered a suspect. But as Erin begins to unearth the buried secrets of Bald Eagle Falls, she is forced to confront her own family’s dark history.

Did you know you can get Auntie Clem’s Bakery books 1-3 for $0.99 for a limited time? Get it while it’s hot!
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme. Read the rules and more teasers at The Purple Booker. Anyone can play along.
I don’t often say this, but I loved this book! I had scrolled past Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus by Dusti Bowling more than once, but I’m glad I stopped and looked at it this time. This is a young adult novel about Aven, a girl born with no arms. Having moved to Arizona halfway through the school year, she has to make new friends. A big challenge after spending her whole life in Kansas, where she grew up with the same kids since kindergarten.
The portrayal of Aven’s disability and abilities, along with the challenges of her friend Connor, who has Tourette’s Syndrome, and an overweight boy named Zion, feels realistic and refreshing. It didn’t come off to me as inspiration porn. It’s about kids dealing with life, from the usual middle school crap to figuring out how to manage physical challenges and the social challenges of stares, questions, and trying to be like everyone else. For good measure, Aven is also dealing with mysteries of the past at the amusement park her parents are running and how they intersect with her own past.
I had never realized just how different I was until the day that horrible kid shouted about my arms having fallen off. For the first time I found myself aware of my total armlessness, and I guess I felt like I was sort of naked all of a sudden.

Aven Green loves to tell people that she lost her arms in an alligator wrestling match, or a wildfire in Tanzania, but the truth is she was born without them. And when her parents take a job running Stagecoach Pass, a rundown western theme park in Arizona, Aven moves with them across the country knowing that she’ll have to answer the question over and over again.
Her new life takes an unexpected turn when she bonds with Connor, a classmate who also feels isolated because of his own disability, and they discover a room at Stagecoach Pass that holds bigger secrets than Aven ever could have imagined. It’s hard to solve a mystery, help a friend, and face your worst fears. But Aven’s about to discover she can do it all . . . even without arms.

Ella will need all her friends, including the new and very handsome American policeman, and all her sharpest sleuthing skills to figure out who murdered the dog breeder before another dead body pops up.

When Bunny Carter, the old lady from the Manor House, is discovered in an open grave, Sophie Sayers is sure it’s a case of foul play. But when it comes to suspects, she’s spoiled for choice.
One of Bunny’s squabbling children from three different husbands?
Petunia Lot from the Cats Prevention charity, always angling for a legacy?
All these and more had motive and opportunity.
But which is to blame? And can Sophie and her boyfriend, village bookseller Hector Munro, stop them before they strike again?
A lively array of eccentrics joins the regular cast in this compelling story of family, friendship, love and loss.
While the story includes plenty of Debbie Young’s renowned wit and British humour, it’s also thoughtful and poignant, reflecting Sophie’s growing wisdom, self-reliance and skill as self-appointed amateur village sleuth.
