Anything else. Go ride a bike, go for a swim, watch a movie, play a board game, anything. For me, I find that the stories I write tend to be inspired by what I have personally experienced. So when I get writer's block, I go out and visit with friends or something, and sooner or later something will hit me and I'll get an idea about what to put down on the page. And take notes if you have to. Keep some scraps of paper and a pen/pencil with you at all times and take notes. You'll be glad you did.(less)

Write any story that comes to your mind, no matter how silly it might seem. Odds are, someone will like it. And that's another thing. If someone doesn't like one of your stories, it doesn't matter. It won't make a bit of difference, because for every one person you find that doesn't like any one of your stories, you'll find about ten who will.(less)

George Carlin
“I do this real moron thing, and it's called thinking. And apparently I'm not a very good American because I like to form my own opinions.”
George Carlin

Douglas Adams
“A towel, [The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy] says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapors; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (such a mind-boggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.”
Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

Douglas Adams
“The Answer to the Great Question... Of Life, the Universe and Everything... Is... Forty-two,' said Deep Thought, with infinite majesty and calm.”
Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

“Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.”

“Anyone who thinks sitting in church can make you a Christian must also think that sitting in a garage can make you a car.”
