3rd TRIP TO THE ALTAR&THE PERFECT PAIRINGBooks 3 &...

Tristin May has a bad habit of leaving men at the altar, but Brent Daniels isn’t just any man, he’s her first love.
When traveling nurse Tristin May heard the song dedication on the radio, there was only one thing to do: return to Lilac Ridge to see if summer love once again sparked with her long ago flame. The spark explodes, and Tristin spends the summer making new memories, but she is spooked when things go further than she dared dream. She high-tails it to her next nursing assignment, desperate not to leave a man at the altar for a third time.
Dedicating a song to Tristin on a national radio show was a shot in the dark for Brent Daniels, so when she shows up in Lilac Ridge, he’s determined he won’t let her go a second time. Tristin is as wild and carefree as Brent remembers despite the tragedy she endured after graduating college, and she brings out his own, long dormant wild side. Since he’s not looking for just a summer fling, Brent sets out to prove to Tristin he’s a man not only worth taking a chance on, but worth spending the rest of her life with.
But when Brent’s proposal sends his would-be bride running in the wrong direction, it takes the affection of his rescue raccoon Rascal to remind him she’s worth fighting for and to convince her that the third time is a charm.

She laughed because if she’d gone through with her first wedding, she might be stuck in that kind of life, the kind she wasn’t at all interested in. “No husband. No kids. No fence.”
He smiled again, the relief relaxing the tight grip he had on her hands.
A noisy group of women entered the pub. Brent turned, groaning as he turned back to Tristin. “I’m so sorry for what’s about to happen.”
One of the women spotted them and came marching to the table, anger seething from every pore.
“Oh, honey, you must be new in town,” her voice terribly sweet.
“Something like that,” Tristin said.
“Well, I feel compelled to warn you about Bear here,” she said, her voice now rumbling with a growl as if she was channeling her own inner bear.
“Warn me?” Tristin asked, leaning back in the booth.
“He’s nice to look at, there’s no denying that, but he’s emotionally unavailable. It may not seem that way at first, but trust me, trust all of us,” she said waving her hand at the group of women who gawked from the middle of the pub. “He’s pining after this woman who most of us believe doesn’t even exist.”
“Really?” Tristin asked, intrigued. She smiled and winked at Brent before giving her attention back to the woman.
“Yes, really. All of us, who have been stretched through the wringer, we actually started a pool.
“What kind of pool?” Tristin asked through Brent’s groan.
“We call it the Woman Who Doesn’t Exist Pool. It’s a twenty-five dollar buy in and you have to pick a date when you think Bear will finally admit this woman isn’t real.”
“That’s interesting,” Tristin said. “But I’m confused, what makes you think he’s pining after a woman who doesn’t exist?”
“You don’t know about the radio dedication?” the woman gasped.
Tristin smirked at Brent for a second. “Tell me about it.”
“Well, he dedicated this song on national radio, pouring his heart out about how she showed him the best summer of his life and that he’s never found that kind of happiness since.”
“Sounds romantic,” Tristin cooed.
“Oh, honey, don’t let him fool you. It’s pathetic.”
“What’s the pot on the pool?”
“We’re up to $500.”
“And what if I believe the woman does exist?”
“You can buy in on that too, but that’s a fool’s bet. You have to produce proof to win the pot.”
“Sounds fair,” Tristin said and dug into her pocket. Slapping thirty dollars on the table she asked, “Can you make change?”
“Of course.” The women dug into her purse and pulled out an envelope, sliding a five dollar bill from it. She grabbed Tristin’s money and slid it into the envelope. Then she tapped on her phone. “I keep the list here. What’s your name, honey?”
“TM,” Tristin offered.
“TM?” the woman questioned.
“Yeah, that’s what some of my friends call me. It’s the whole Harley thing.”
“I don’t follow,” the woman said.
“It’s not important. What kind of proof are you looking for?”
“It has to be a picture, of one Tristin May here in Lilac Ridge or one with her and Bear.” Tristin had pictures of her and Bear stashed away in her Pandora’s box, but she didn’t want to share those with this bitter woman.
“You know what she looks like?” Tristin asked.
“No, but a few claim to know her. They put in their wagers and said they’d dig up proof, but so far, they’ve come up empty.”
“Really, who thinks she exists?”
“Maddie Carson and Clarissa Dean, for starters. Those two are thick as thieves, watch out for them. They claim to have met her but I think they’re just sticking up for Bear.”
Tristin smiled. She remembered Maddie and Clarissa and was happy they were still here. She couldn’t wait to reconnect with them. “What about Matt Carson? Did he place a wager?” she asked.
“Oh, no, he’s away in the army. Wait, how do you know Matt?”
Tristin shrugged and reached into her purse. “I assume legal ID is valid proof?”
Brent chuckled now and shook his head.
“What? Legal ID? What did you say your name is?”
“TM. Those are my initials,” Tristin said, handing her driver’s license to the queen of bitter.
The queen gasped. “You’re Tristin May?” she said before the shock morphed into anger. “You played me.”
“You were willing to take my twenty-five dollar buy-in. Maybe you need to find some other way to work out your issues with Brent. I’ll take my winnings,” she said, holding out her hand.

“Hold it,” he commanded with more authority than any of the commanding officers she’d served under during four years in the air force. “What are you doing here? We’re closed.”
Courtney stood at attention as if commanded, her shoulders back and her chin up, doing an about face and breathing through her nose so she could speak like a professional instead of the idiot who’d stammered her way through the previous response. “I’m here for a job interview. I’m Courtney Daniels.”
“Job interview? With who?” he asked.
“With Mr. Black, sir, at eleven.”
He shook his head. “With me?”
Great. Way to make a first impression, Court. Kiss this job good-bye.
His brow creased even further. “Son of a bitch. Who called you?”
“Amber,” Courtney said, mentally checking her posture and forcing herself to breathe. “She interviewed me a couple weeks ago. She called Monday and said you requested a second interview.”
“I’m gonna kill her,” he muttered.
Courtney remained at attention, her bare feet rooted to the granite floor. The cold had started to seep into her body, sending a chill across her skin and up her spine.
Or, maybe that was the man. He was fierce, but she still fought the urge to touch him, to soothe the tension and…
No, no awry thoughts about the man who could be her boss. That kind of thinking led to bad decisions that would ultimately get her into trouble.
“Looks like you’ve been rolling in the dirt,” he said, his gaze going down and back up, raising every hair on Courtney’s body. “Is that how you always dress for an interview?”
“No, sir,” she responded, her temper flaring as she remembered the incident in the parking lot. “I was almost rundown in the parking lot by some jack-ass in an old Ford. I got the license plate if you want to speak with whatever employee was driving like a maniac.”
The bark of laughter echoed but Courtney didn’t see the humor. Maybe she shouldn’t have said jack-ass, but sometimes her tongue had a mind of its own. It had gotten her into trouble more than once and not just while in the air force. The back of her father’s hand liked to smack the smart ass right out of her when he’d had too much to drink, which was always.
“I was just on my way to the restroom to clean up before the interview.”
“Interview, right,” he drawled, his posture loosening. “You can forget about the interview.”
“No, wait,” she pleaded. “Just give me a chance. I have a copy of my resume right here.” Courtney reached inside the case holding her iPad, dust flying when she pulled a paper out. “I don’t have extensive experience, but the experience I do have has prepared for me a job like this. I have a lot of energy and ideas. You won’t be disappointed.”
“You misunderstood. You can forget the interview because you’re hired. You start right now.”

"Make love? First time?" "Yes, sweetheart, I want to do this with you every night for the rest of my life." That sounded most enticing and she didn't know of any reason why they couldn't start tonight, "I want to know everything," she confessed. "I want to touch, to taste, and feel." He was long, lean, and strong. She wanted to touch every inch, touch it, taste it, smell it, and anything else she could do with him. "My gentle giant, I want you. Please?" His lips descended over hers. There was no further discussion only sensation, only touch, only taste, only the very soft sounds of her cooing below him as she tried to be quiet and not give voice to the passion pulsing through her quivering body. There was no need to rush and even if there were, he wouldn't want to. Breaking the kiss, Nick's lips made their way down her cheek to the nape of her neck. Hannah drew in a steamy breath before letting out a long, low, sultry moan. Her body tingled from the tip of her nose to the very tips of her toes. Hannah found that, with no thought or coaxing from her, her bare legs rose up and clamped down along his flanks reveling in the taut sensation of his skin below. All that was in her way now were the blue jeans, she reached down, but he was so long that his waist was out of her reach. No matter how she stretched that little hand down, letting it slide across the firmness of his chest and the ripples of his abs, the waistband of the jeans taunted it, the tips of her fingers barely touched it before it flitted away. The longer it went on the more maddening it became. She felt the hardness of him below the denim brushing along the susceptible flesh of her thigh as he ground gently against it. "Can’t reach, Shorty?" Nick teased in a sultry whisper as his tongue lapped along her neck and then down to her shoulders making its way to the space between her small breasts. Below him, he felt her smile and he smiled to himself. Nick already removed the double-ring belt so the nicely fitting yet bulging Levis were loose on his firm hips. Hannah brought her knees upward and her back arched deeper when his lips closed down around one hard wanton nipple. She couldn’t reach with her hands but she could reach with her toes, she wormed them into the waistband, grabbing each side between her big toe and the one next to it. Working gently from side to side and using gravity as her friend, she got the waistband to the well-toned mound of his ass only to find that, like Rick, Nick liked to go commando. Moving his hips upward, he let her take the jeans past and over his growing hard on, it popped to life like a champagne cork on New Year’s Eve. The soles of her feet stopped to linger over that firm ass, she rang them over the cheeks and downward over the backs of his thighs pushing the jeans with them. Her legs only extended to his knees, Nick thought he’d take them off the rest of the way; he wriggled out of them while keeping his place on top of her, the nipple between his lips and the other between his fingertips as his hair cascaded down over her. Her small hips thrust upward off the bed, searching, prodding, and longing for the incredible hardness pushing against her inner thigh. The soft musky scent of her wafted upward making him want her more as he descended with slow steady purpose. In the heat of the moment, the lips over her flank bit down to take in a soft chunk of flesh. Below and above him, she shivered but not from cold and not with fear. Her hands reached down to the nape of his neck and brought up handfuls of his hair she twirled the silkiness of it around on her prickling skin. She held it over her breasts like a cape, as her hips heaved up and down against his chest with growing fire. The scent grew headier as it intoxicated him, filling his head with lustful thoughts and his long lean body with passionate desire. Nick’s nose nestled to the soft mound of hair below him.
Her legs spread apart like an angel’s wings as he settled between them. How many nights did he dream of being here? How many mornings did he wake up hard with the thought of her? Now she was here and this was real. He couldn’t wait any longer to taste of it. When his tongue lapped along the outer lips below him, Hannah struggled to keep quiet; her hand gripped his hair between her fingers and tugged with a firm grip. It was harder to remain silent when one thick, long, gentle finger plied her lips apart and then slid inside. "Shhhh," Nick said quietly, "don’t wake your brother," That only made her breathe harder. Even he had to admit there was something quite tantalizing in the idea of being caught by Mason. Tongue lapping and fingers prodding, Hannah’s body quivered and shook, her legs stiffened and the pace that had been growing suddenly slowed, another finger entered and his hot tongue flitted around her. What wanted to be cry of passion released in a softly heated moan.

Review The Amber Project by JN Chaney

Synopsis:
In 2157, a mysterious gas known as Variant spreads across the globe, killing or mutating most organic life. The surviving humans take refuge in an underground city, determined to return home. But after generations of failures and botched attempts, hope is beginning to dwindle. That is, until a young scientist makes a unique discovery—and everything changes. Suddenly, there’s reason to hope again, and it rests within a group of genetically engineered children that are both human and Variant.
Terry is one of these children, modified and trained to endure the harsh conditions of a planet he cannot begin to understand. After years of preparation, Terry thinks he knows what to expect. But the reality is far stranger than anything he can imagine—and what he will become is far more dangerous.

I walked into reading this book not knowing what to expect and was pleasantly surprised by how amazing and wonderful a story JN Chaney weaves of friendship, love, loss, and loyalty. Society is living underground after a gas called Variant wiped out most of the human race. The main character Terry is being sent to school for the first time where he will meet some amazing friends. They're being trained to live on the surface and restore a new human race to it's former glory.
Chaney's characters are very well written and you find yourself drawn into the story so much so that you cannot put the book down! (I should know I finished it at 3AM). The plotline is very well planned and executed with incredible twists and turns that make you laugh, cry, and yell at the bad guys. (Yes I did this too.) It is truly a wonderful and exciting read. I'm definitely going to make my way into book 2 Transient Echoes.
About the Author:

J. N. Chaney has a Master's of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and fancies himself quite the Super Mario Bros. fan. When he isn't writing or gaming, you can find him online at www.jnchaney.com.
He migrates often, but was last seen in Avon Park, FL. Any sightings should be reported, as they are rare.

Review Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

I just finished reading Harry Potter and the Curse Child and to say it was good would be a disservice to this book. The story reads along the lines of a play, but it doesn't take away from Rowling's magic. You'll find out what all of your favorite characters are doing and how their lives have changed since the last part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (which was my second favorite Potter book next to the Half Blood Prince.)

It picks up in the train station nineteen years after the Battle of Hogwarts all of your favorite characters are standing on Platform 9 3/4 ready to send their children off to school. Harry is sending his son Albus while Malfoy is sending his only child Scorpius. Of course, Ron and Hermoine are there too sending their daughter off to Hogwarts. Albus is concerned what house he will be sorted into and Harry reminds him that the sorting hat takes his wish into consideration like it did before when Harry went to Hogwarts. I'm not telling you what house he's sorted into though, that would kill the story for you right there.
Longer on in the story, we discover there's a new Minister of Magic as well as a new Head of Magical Law Enforcement. All of these characters both new and old come together to help Albus and Scorpius in their latest adventure.

All in all this book is amazing if you keep in mind this is the script of a play. Again it does not take away from the wonderful wizarding magic in the Potterverse. With excitement and danger around every turn and a little comedy from Ron we wind our way on a magical adventure through which we learn a lot about the characters and a lot about ourselves. All in all this is a wonderful read for anyone who loves Harry Potter.

Synopsis
Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne,Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on July 30, 2016.
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places."

Title: Awaken (Slumber Duology, Book Two)Author: Christy SloatGenre: YA Fantasy/ Fairytale Retelling

Blurb:
“Happily ever after is hers for the taking.”
Once upon a time I found myself locked away in Spindle Ridge Asylum, punished for a murder I didn’t commit. It was all part of Maleficent’s evil plan. I didn’t remember who I was then … now I do. My name is Aurora, and I am the rightful queen of this realm. Armed with my memories, I’m ready to take charge of my kingdom once more. Happily ever after evades me, yet I long to claim it with my true love, Sawyer, beside me. That fairy tale ending seems impossible with him locked in the thralls of a sleeping curse. As much as I’d love to sit by his bedside and eagerly await a cure, I must first travel into the terrifying Dark Woods to stop Raven from stripping me of all that is rightfully mine. I am not only a queen, but a warrior who will fight for her kingdom. Some may die. Blood will be shed. But when this ending comes, I will settle for nothing less than a blissful ever after.

Lee Ryder is proud to announcethat Carnival of Souls is Nominated for the2016 Summer Indie Book Awards!
The cold of winter is setting in, at least for those of us in the northern Hemisphere of the world. But we at Metamorph Publishing aren’t letting that get us down! We’re already looking forward to a sizzling summer, and we’re here to announce our first annual Indie Book Awards! You heard that right, a summer book awards! The event officially begins on January 1stof each year, and nominations will be accepted through midnight CST on August 31st each year. Voting will begin on September 1st and end on September 10th each year.“What’s the big deal,” you ask? “There are all kinds of contests out there.” And you’re right, there are hundreds, probably thousands of book awards. But many of them are only for unpublished authors, or authors who only write in certain narrow genres, or for authors who have never published before in a particular genre. Plus, there are plenty of them that charge an entry fee, some of which are prohibitive to authors who publish independently, without the backing of a large and powerful publishing house. So, we’re hoping to do something different with the Summer Indie Book Awards! Entry is free, and nominations will be accepted from any indie or small-press author, regardless of their current published or non-published state, or what genre they write in. We are accepting donations of print or e-books, author swag or novelty items (bookmarks, pens, keychains, etc.), but donation is not required for nomination. We’re taking nominations from authors as well as from readers, and authors can nominate their own books; we only ask that authors who do so also nominate a fellow indie author. Nominations can be made using this form: http://goo.gl/forms/T1L8sQJGVx, while donations can be made at: http://goo.gl/forms/6DkAK4MeqI.Feel free to join up with the event on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/events/1099924726693772, and like the official Facebook page of the Summer Indie Book Awards at https://www.facebook.com/summerindiebookawards. You can also sign up for the newsletter at: http://eepurl.com/bL43cfso you can stay up to date with all the latest news! In the pinned post of the Facebook event, you’ll find these links, along with links to a Google Drive folder where you can look and see who’s already been nominated! And any author who is nominated will have access to an official contest nominee badge, that they can use on their book covers or any promotional media, if they so desire.Winners in each genre will receive a prize (hopefully we’ll get enough donations for this), beginning with the 1st place winners. If we get enough prizes donated, we’ll go next to 2nd place winners, and then to 3rd place. Regardless of the prizes, winners will get a high-quality winner badge, stating their place and the genre of the book. These will be of high enough resolution for authors to use on their print books, if they want to!But it’s not only the winners that will benefit from the Summer Indie Book Awards! All nominated authors will have the potential to reach hundreds, if not more, of new readers (readers often have a preferred genre, and while they’re voting for their favorite author, will come across others they may not have tried yet), and reach a huge new audience through the social media forums! And best of all, it’s meant to have fun, to reach out and network with other authors, potentially forming long-lasting relationships. And readers will benefit from having a wealth of new books in front of them, as well as a vast amount of new stories to immerse themselves in.Though we’re using Facebook and other social media as a platform to reach more authors and readers, none of these social media outlets are affiliated with the awards. They are hosted strictly by Metamorph Publishing.
