WHAT IS REALITY?

What are we really seeing? Are we seeing what is actually in front of us? Are we seeing what we want to see or what we can see?

Maybe some people see more and some people see less. Some people could be seeing in more detail than others. For example, dogs and cats see the same objects as us but in different colors and details.

I can go on like this forever. The universe holds so many secrets. We might never find all the answers but we can still wonder.

What Is Wrong With This Picture?

The scenery is soothing. Snow covers the ground and trees, like a white blanket. But then in the middle of it all, a train charges down the track emitting smoke and noise.
We need trains but they do ruin the pretty picture.

I want to run through a field of flowers. Press my face into the scented grass. Run barefoot through the flowing stream of water. Turn my face up to the warm sun while zigzagging through the dense forest of trees. No worries. No cares. Just me and nature.

That is what life should all about. Time to enjoy the miracle of nature and the miracle of life. Babies are born each day—human, animal, fish, fowl. Once we slow down our pace, from the rat race we enjoy following, we will be able to appreciate our lives better. Appreciate what we really have. We live in a beautiful world with diverse cultures. The sun rises and shines for us each and every day. Nature provides for our needs with water, air, shelter, and food. We should be content with just this. We don’t need more. More is unnecessary. It just adds stress to our lives.

So take the time to smell the roses. It will change your whole outlook on life—for the better.

DREAMS

Some days I feel that there is so much more out there—that I’m not experiencing all life has to offer. I want to travel everywhere. Try foods across the world. Meet new people with different customs and languages. I want to be invited into their world—into their homes to feel their warmth and hospitality.

We can’t all be so lucky. We can’t drop everything and take off on a whim. But I can look out into the calming waves of the ocean and dream. Dreaming is free for everyone. Our dreams are limitless in their scope. No one can take them away. We can savor them for as long as we want.

Look out at the waves or the stars and dream your own personal dreams. And maybe some of them will come true.

Who is not intrigued by the unknown? We all love to have some mystery in life. If we enter the woods, what will we find? The tingle we feel as we venture forth. Will something or someone jump out at us?

That is how I feel when I open a new mystery book. I also feel this when I go shopping. So here’s to the unknown!

We all walk alone at some point. It is part of nature to be strong and self-sufficient. Be proud. Be self-confident.

The Closed Door

The Closed Front Door
What do doors signify to us? A closed door can indicate that no one is welcomed or that no one is home. On the other hand, an open door can be beckoning for us to enter. By having a closed door on the front cover of a book raises the question of what lies behind the door and whether it should be opened.

My book, The Dead Game, reveals a closed door with smokey shapes curling around it. This door points to a house that isn’t waiting for guests or interested in any visitors. In this case, it would be wiser to stay away. Run far away if you can.

Without heeding the warning, the characters enter the deserted mansion. The house appears to be empty. No one is there to meet them besides empty rooms, dead bodies, and traps.

The red door on The Dead Game cover has warned readers that End House must be entered with care. The residents disregard the closed door and the unwelcome silence. They enter a house full of traps and secret passageways. Only some of their group make it out alive.

What would you do if you were faced with a closed door to an eerie deserted house?  Would you turn around and run? Sounds like a good idea to me.

Unfortunately, the young residents of Oasis didn’t run but stepped through the doorway into a deserted house with powers of its own. But who is running this house? Humans or vampires? Or maybe it’s computerized. They don’t have long to wait before the house turns on them. They must find out who is running the evil game and everyone else in town.

Why Can’t Life Be Easy?

Why Can't Life Be So Easy?

Imagine if people worked so well together, how much could be accomplished? No worrying about who is behind us, ready to stab us in the back. The penguins trust each other, following their leader down the slope. Who was our last leader that we trusted blindly? Sadly it wasn’t in my lifetime.
It might still happen one day. We can’t give up hope.

Nature gets it right the first time. Nothing needs to be corrected or redone. There is beauty in its perfection. We should all learn from this.
