YOU got them there, they represent YOU!!!

When I vote for someone that doesn't mean I have their back no matter what they do, it means I expect more of them. I gave them my support, I put my trust in them, I helped them rise to the position they hold. Now it's their turn to look out for me.

It is a little frustrating to me when people are so hard 'party liners' that they make up excuses for the people who are supposed to be representing them. That's backwards. If you feel the person you voted for is doing a good job, then be proud of them for sure, but if they're not, don't.

You should be really upset if the person you voted for is doing stupid stuff, or ignoring what is best for you! You should be the first to say something you should be demanding better.

As a country I think we need to be a little more honest. It's okay to vote for someone, and actually expect that they do a goo job. It's also okay to admit that someone you voted for made a mistake, and still be happy with your choice to vote for him/her.

It's even okay to hate the entire system, not vote at all and expect politicians to do their job. Their job is to represent all of us, we need to start expecting that from them.

Health Food?

I chocked on a carrot the other day, and nearly died. In my life I've never choked on a chocolate doughnut. Which one is better for me? You decide.

Ugly and the Beast

In Beauty and The Beast, the young prince is changed into an ugly beast because he has judged someone from their outside appearance. Then a beautiful woman comes to his castle and she needs to learn to not judge him by his outward appearance?

That doesn’t make any sense!

I have a better idea! Someone who had an amazing personality but was nasty ugly should have come to the castle, then he would need to learn to look past the outward appearance and through the process he can help her gain a sense of who she is, and boost her self-esteem. Now that would be much better.

Unfortunately this story would never fly, because who can picture Angela Lansbury singing:

Tales been overdone
True as that may be
Rejected and no friends
Because her body bends
Unexpectedly

Just a shallow prince
Needs to learn some things
Welcome nasty face
Come into his place

Ugly and the Beast

Little prince is lame!
Her face is a surprise
She is just a four, shut out at the door, now the beast must rise!

Tale that was quite dense
Tune that made no sense
Bitter prince was strange
But now he needs to change
He learned he was wrong!

Uncertain as the storms
Forming in the east
Tale that was quite dense
Tune that made no sense
 Ugly and the Beast!

Tale that was one hated
Song that’s been updated
Ugly and the Beast.

Grab a book, for a chance to win some cash!

Picture Check this out! A great chance to win some cash by buying great books!

If you haven't yet gotten a copy of The Troven, now is the chance to win money by buying it!

Which is better? Let's be honest, we'd spend the money on books, so it's basically amazing!

Review: Anne with an E

Picture Just finished watching the first season (7 shows) of Anne with an E on Netflix and wanted to write a review.

As a Canadian, I grew up on Anne of Green Gables and I loved it! The characters, setting, cleaver dialogue and fun upbeat feeling to those movies was perfect for kids of all ages.

Having said that, anyone who might have seen Anne with an E might think I would hate it as it has a darker more realistic feel, pretty much cuts some main characters from the original and removes some of the fun parts, but I actually really liked this series a lot!

The most important thing to me is the central character, Anne. She grew on me very quickly and I felt more emotions from her than I was expecting to. I felt drawn to her, I was engaged by her silly eccentric ways and I also was sad when she was sad, and crushed when she was mistreated. There were times I wanted to reach into the tv, grab her and take her into my home. She is such a sweetie and has so much baggage.

I felt like some of the newly created content added unnecessary drama (especially in the final two shows) but if you're making a tv series out of a book, you need to do that, so it was okay. It just felt like some times there was a lot to keep track of with things happening to so many characters with their back stories, current stories, and hints of future conflicts. It got pretty intense.

Speaking of this series as if it were a serious drama would be very one-dimensional. There were some very expected humorous moments, from the books and previous shows, and there was also some new content that had me laughing out loud. It had a good balance of fun mixed into it, but I would definitely not put it in the genre of comedy.

Some notes for enjoyment: Try (if you can) to not compare it to Anne of Green Gables. They are very different in tone, and quite a bit of new content. But the story, casting and show overall tells a powerful, imaginative and fun story.

Parental notes: Anne with an E deals with some heavy topics and some mature topics. It shows/mentions them in a way that is not offensive, but it does touch on some of the things an orphan passed from family to family would deal with and be exposed to. I would not recommend this for children of all ages, perhaps you might want to watch it first before showing young kids.

I saw a great article the other day that I think is perfect for you.

It was about being judgmental!
