Not Quite Sure
So I stayed up last night watching Donald and Hilary argue. I could say it was a good use of my time, but honestly, that's debatable...

Cover Reveal: Alice Will
I'm very excited to share this cover reveal with you!I read an early copy of Alice Will and found it had a Terry Pratchett feel to it. Wildly creative, something very new, and a little odd, in a fun way. Some fun characters and a very creative world as we followed Trotter through her journey of discovering herself.
Excited to see this book released by my friend, Ashley Chappell.
If you want to see more about the book, the release or about the author check out her blog post about the journey it has been getting Alice Will ready for us.
There is also a great offer for people who have read Alice Will in the past. Check out her post by clicking here.
About Alice Will:
Alice is the first book in the Dreams of Chaos series (the 2nd will be re-released soon) and is age appropriate for ~10 and up. The series grows up with Trotter, the 14-year old heroine of this first story, and the material does progress in maturity with her. Given that, Alice Will can be read as a standalone novel for younger readers not yet ready to read the darker concepts and slightly more violent scenes found in the 2nd and 3rd books in the series.
From the jacket:
Fourteen year-old Trotter was still just trying to get the hang of the demi-godding business when the apocalypse began. In a world where the gods have withdrawn from humanity, leaving mortals bitter toward magic, she finds herself constantly torn between her human and goddess sides. When the world begins to fade away and she becomes the prime suspect, her search to find the cause and prove her innocence ends up revolving around a mysterious little girl named Alice. Then Trotter discovers that not all of the gods had been as distant as they seemed...
Now, with everyone against her and the gods fighting amongst themselves, Trotter is on her own to save her world and stop a vengeful god from using Alice to destroy everything.
Reviews:
“It's smart, it's funny, it's sad, it's action-packed... It's like Harry Potter with a divine twist!” - Elizabeth Seckman, author of the Coulter Men Series
“It's a rollicking adventure with nail-biting suspense tempered with humor.” - Tom Hooten, author of Hollytime
“What I will say is that when this book is good, which is 96.3% of the time... it is damn good." - Dennis P. Sharpe, author of The Coming Storm Trilogy

Hey, wanted to make a post and let you know that The Troven is now on sale for only £0.99 in the UK. It's a limited offer till September 29th, so grab a copy while it's available! For centuries, young men in their eighteenth year have been sent away from the small village of Dungan for a year-long exile as they begin their journey into manhood. This traditional exile, the Troven, was instituted so that young men may find themselves, find their purpose, and find their place in the world. When Kaz Kinsley and his three friends leave to begin their Troven, all they have on their minds is getting to the first sign of civilization and finding a way to survive on their own. Fate has more in mind for these young men, though. Stone Seekers are on the move, sent by the evil sorcerer Mordyar to find six magical stones, each with the power to enhance one of six gifts every person in Denall is born with. When Kaz unknowingly comes into possession of the Sight Stone, he and his friends become part of the story of the Stones of Power, and their Troven suddenly becomes something much more.

Secrets at the Keep Available NOW!
I don't think it's possible to fully express how excited I am to bring this adventure to you! The Troven, the first book in the Kingdom of Denall series, is a great book to introduce Denall and all the characters in this series, but Secrets at the Keep is when some amazing things start to really happen! The book picks up right where we left off and the pace and action are almost non-stop. It was so much fun to write this book as it was changing as it went. Some things that happened were not even seeds of thoughts in my head when I started outlining this story. It truly took on a life of its own and has grown into something I truly think you will love!
Here's a brief cover description:
The powerful Baron Omer has been secretly maintaining a slave village under the nose of the king for years. The wealth and political clout he has built for himself have made his sprawling castle complex, known simply as The Keep, the most formidable power center on Denall outside the capitol city. Omer has also been searching for the Stones of Power, using any means necessary to track them down - even striking a deal with the evil sorcerer Mordyar and his stone seekers. Now the stones are coming to him, but not in a way that will bring him any pleasure. Wielding the Sight and Hearing Stones, Kaz Kinsley and the beautiful but mysterious Pentra are on their way to free the slaves and bring Omer down. With the other Stones on the move, Omer's secrets will not remain hidden for long.
Thank you so much for the support with The Troven! I'm so glad to have been able to share this story with so many people and I know you'll love the adventure as it continues in book two--available now for pre-order and coming to you on September 16th.

Deleted Dialogue: Kaz and Pentra
Sometimes things are taken out of books for the flow or some other reason, and this is one conversation that didn't make the final cut in the Kingdom of Denall books, but it was so much fun that I wanted to share it on the blog. Hope you enjoy, and if you like it, there are lots of fun sequences that made it into The Troven, and you can pre-order a copy of Secrets at the Keep now and get it delivered to your kindle in a couple of weeks. Enjoy!
“So, why are we stopping early?” P asked as the final camp preparations were being finished.
“It’s hard to explain,” Kaz wrinkled his forehead for a moment then looked up with his characteristic smile. “Perhaps it was so I can spend some time with you, with all your scouting ahead each day I don’t get to see much of you these days. I miss our little chats.”
P gently placed her hand on Kaz’s shoulder; a gesture he used to think was one of affection. “All right, what would you like to talk about?”
Kaz sat upright and brought his hands up to his head. “That’s not fair; you can’t just ask what we’re going to talk about.”
“Why not?” P asked looking at him in complete confusion.
He exhaled and stood up slowly, as if explaining something obvious to a small child. “It’s a conversation killer.”
“A what?” P was clearly amused.
“A conversation killer: you know, the kind of phrase that kills any chance of having a good chat, like ‘I have a terrible rash all over my body’ or ‘My best friend just died’ or ‘Do I look fat in these pants?’ “
P was holding back a laugh, “My question was not a conversation killer.”
“It certainly was. It’s like saying, ‘I’m not interested in talking, but since you insist let’s get on with it.’ It really kills the mood.”
“What kind of mood did you want our conversation to have?” P looked at him playfully and watched his face redden. She smiled a little at first, then she began to chuckle.
Kaz threw his arms up in the air. “You know what, never mind, I’m just getting myself into trouble.” Kaz turned to walk away.
“Wait a second,” P said trying to gain her composure. “This conversation is just getting fun, come back.” She followed Kaz through the camp.
“I’m glad that I can bring such amusement to you,” Kaz replied over his shoulder, refusing to slow down.
“You always do. It’s great spending time with you. Besides it seems my conversation killer has made our little chat much more amusing.” She couldn’t hide her smile and Kaz forced a mock scowl in return.
“It is actually nice to have a normal conversation, not about the upcoming battles, or the invading army, just talking…” He paused and P gave him an inquisitive look. “I was just about to say that it was a normal conversation like we used to have, but I don’t remember us ever having a ‘normal’ conversation. We’ve always been in some kind of trouble.”
“I blame you; you’re a bad influence on me.” P smirked at Kaz and shoved him to the side.
