TALES FROM LITTLE LUMP: ALIEN SEASON by Jeff Folschinsky is a hilarious tale loaded with fun for readers looking for an original story populated with interesting characters — “characters” meant in the truest sense of the word.
As for production values, the cover is wild, which is definitely appropriate for the book’s contents. The print on the back cover appears a bit blurry though it is still readable. The author photo is also blurry. Was this done on purpose? I can barely read the title on the spine, although people keeping this book will be able to remember and spot it. I would have included an author credit on the spine, too.
Gertie is colorful and quite the character. She is an enjoyable choice for the main point of view. This is the type of book that immerses a reader into the author’s story right away. It’s a fun way to escape for an afternoon. The world needs more escapist books with such a sense of humor.
That said, the type of humor won’t appeal to every reader, but should every book appeal to every reader? I think not. Humor especially is a sticky widget. But the author does a great job with his story. Readers will never forget Gertie!

Do You Love Me?

���Do you love me?���
It was a question that had been asked many times. but this year Christy had a hard time answering it truthfully. She did love the things that he did for her and her daughter, this was true. She had a home and was provided for, her daughter went to college, and he provided Christy with the means to start her own business. That in itself had made her love him, but somehow she always felt cheap when she answered ���yes��� to the question. The question she was required to answer once a year on this very day, the question that, when it first appeared in the inbox of her email six years ago, changed her life forever.
Always on Halloween day, always worded exactly the same every year.
