When Dirty is just an outdoor word

“eww” comes a loud sound.

Review and Spotlight on The Perfect Groom by Sumeetha Manikandan

The Perfect Groom by SumeethaManikandan

The Blurb

Very little has gone right in Nithya’s young life. So, when a proposal from a young, handsome NRI comes along, her mother jumps at the opportunity and packs her daughter off to the US with her perfect groom.

Two sides, but one Coin

When faced with confrontation, I usually head towards the hills by chanting Om Shanti Om.

No, not that song, but  reminding myself that my peace of mind is what matters in the end. Getting in a conflict of words is more than physical lashes thus, gotta avoid it.

Mantra for today: The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.

My Role Model

As a teenager, some quotes are drilled into you, more so to keep you grounded since that is an age to dream big and turn all stones to reach the goals in life (at least for those who dare to dream)

" Life is not a book. Every time you make a mistake in your life, you can't go back and rewritten or redo it to make it right because life doesn't work that way."

An unexpected twist

Annie announces with enthusiasm, “Yippee,
tomorrow is my birthday.”

Hubby looks at his screen, “ Oh! I will have to
be at work tomorrow.”

Mom complains of a backache, and wants to see a
doctor the next day.

Annie is left all alone. She sighs in gloom, “As
usual, no one has time.”

Next day, she wants attention, but everyone is
busy in their respective lives.

She decides to go to

When Sonam Kapoor used Baggout to go to Cannes

"Mom the date is arriving, and my designers have not yet shown me the preview of the dresses." Sonam fumes as she is checking her messages on her phone.

Mom is finishing up with her design for a particular client, and is sending in her finals by clicking the Send button.

She nods with apprehension takes a deep breath and replies, "I could suggest you an option, only if you agree to listen

Fear be-gone!

"Mom I am going for my class." I announce as I walk past the kitchen.

"Alright!" she replies and continues, "arrival the same time or you will be taking a detour?"

"Nah! I will be back the same time. Arpita has a ride home today." I counter as I pause my steps.

I hit the elevator button and wait patiently for the ding sound.

Door open, I walk in, and press the G button, the elevator
