So close, yet so far away! New release is coming soon (ish!)
My newest book, Just One Kiss is a fun, Science fiction romance. It's not Christian as my previous books but it is squeaky clean. Even though the first draft is complete, there's still a lot to do before I can hit the publish button. I do have the cover though! What do you think?

A Cure for MS or Low Blood Pressure?
I'm fascinated with health and nutrition. The more I learn about the complexity of our bodies the more I believe we are 'fearfully and wonderfully made'!
I've been spending the last couple of days researching Vitamin B1 or Thiamine for reasons that might someday become another post. All of the B vitamins are crucial and work together but sometimes, even when taking a multivitamin or B-complex one or another of these vitamins might become depleted.
Thiamine is abundant in several foods. Unfortunately two of the main sources are foods often shunned by those of us trying to get or stay healthy: grains and pork. The Thiamine we do get is also depleted by common things like sugar, alcohol, and caffeine.
A deficiency in Thiamine has many symptoms which you can find online with a quick search such as fatigue, carbohydrate intolerance, or adrenal problems. A couple of the symptoms that surprised me were low blood pressure and poor athletic performance. Very interesting. So many people struggle with high blood pressure, but if you are one who struggles with low blood pressure, you already know there are few natural treatments recommended. Thiamine could be a key to raising low blood pressure.
My newest discovery today was about doctors treating/curing MS with Thiamine and liver injections
–in the 1940s! Is this news to anyone else or am I the only one who hasn't heard about this yet? That site took me on a search to learn about typical MS symptoms. Surprise, surprise. Many symptoms of MS line up with those of Thiamine deficiency!
Please don't think I'm saying this is an easy answer. MS is a debilitating disease. But what if Thiamine (and liver injections) can cure it? Or at least help? Isn't it worth looking into?
Here is a link to the information about the treatment used for MS. (http://www.arthritistrust.org/wp-cont...) I have no affiliation with that site. Please remember this isn't medical advice, simply an opportunity for you to dig deeper into an answer for your own health problems.
If you have any experience with Thiamine (Vitamin B1), low blood pressure, or MS please leave a comment.
I have been taking this Benfotiamine (not for MS) http://www.iherb.com/life-extension-m... which is the fat soluble version of Thiamine that will stay in your system longer than regular Thiamine. I usually buy vitamins at iHerb.com because they have fast shipping and usually great prices (it never hurts to check around). If you use my code HER589 with your first order at iHerb you can save up to $10 and I'll get a bit a vitamin money too!

What's in the works?
What's in the works? Way too many things! Four completely different books in various stages of completion are currently under way, ranging from my normal Christian fiction with a twist of fun supernatural to a sci-fi romance totally unrelated to any of the previously published books.
I've been going back and forth between each book, adding a little here and a little there, but I'm finally focusing in on the sci-fi romance. At the moment it's called Seal it With a Kiss.
What if an advanced society of people existed in a remote area of earth who not only thrived but also kept an eye on the rest of the world, helping out when they could. These people are so attuned to themselves and the world around them that not only can most of them manipulate matter with a thought, a simply kiss joins them to their soulmate for life? Or at least until they're separated by a seemingly unbreakable barrier?
I'm 58,000 words into S(it)WAK and can't wait for the MCs to work out their problems because, oh, yeah, I believe in HEAs (happily ever afters)!

New Cover for Bradley and Nicole

Bradley and Nicole had an instant connection. We meet them in book two as relative strangers just getting to know each other. By book three, (warning: spoiler alert) they're getting married! So was everything smooth sailing for them in the ensuing months? Or did they have a few bumps in the road like every other new couple? Well, let's just say bumps would have been a blessing. They have cliffs and valleys and a real doubt that their relationship would survive.
As they work through their own problems a young girl ends up in their lives with problems that make theirs look paltry in comparison. Given the chance to help her, might just help them as it draws them closer together.
Don't miss a peek at their lives in Bradley and Nicole.

New Cover for Saving Will
New covers—on the search for the perfect fit—are always fun. This is the newest cover for Saving Will.
This image represents Katie, the antagonist in Saving Will. She's a young woman who has spent her life fostering supernatural powers. When she's offered a chance to expand those powers a hundred-fold she pounces on it. The consequences will be steep if she fails but the benefits are worth the risk. And besides, she's young and feels invincible. She doesn't think there's a chance of failure.

Never Give Up Your Dreams
This summer my family and I squeezed in a quick trip to the beach. Unbeknownst to me, this trip was going to fulfill a dream of over twenty years.
We got to the beach late Wednesday night so didn't do much more than settle in to our hotel. Thursday morning we tried out the hotel breakfast (no comment about that, haha) then started driving down the beach. Since this was a spur of the moment trip we had no plans other than enjoying the sand and water.
Passing a parked van labeled "Surf Camp" my husband looked at me and said, "You've always wanted to surf. Let's check it out."
I was okay with "checking it out" since I knew our kids would probably enjoying learning to surf but I had no intentions of trying it. Even though it was one of my dreams from my late teen years. I remember dragging my best friend to every surfing movie that came out during that time—even though we quickly realized most of them weren't great. But they showed the waves and the surfing and fueled my desire to try it for myself.
Only I never did. I never even tried to. I had plenty of excuses. It was too expensive, too far, and as I got older, too hard for someone who wasn't in great shape.
Anyway, we stopped and my husband went to talk to the people setting up a tent by the van. He came back and said they had an all day camp that day but would be closed for the holiday for the rest of our stay. If we wanted to try surfing on this trip we had to do it now. Like, literally now. The camp started at 9 and it was 8:55.
The kids were game so we got them signed up and after a bit of hesitation—and some fear on my part—my husband and I signed up too! I had so many fears. The fear that I wouldn't be able to do it at all. Or that I would look foolish trying. Oh, and of course there's always a fear of sharks when I'm in water above my knees ; >)
I think my main fear was of how I would look. No one enjoys looking foolish, but I tried hard to push that aside. Our instructor demonstrated a 'pop-up' on a board on the sand then we got to try it ourselves. I found out I'm a 'goofy foot' which means my right foot was in front when I stood up.
Before I knew it we had our boards secured to our ankles and were in the water fighting little waves to get out deep enough to surf. And for me that was the hardest part! I realized how out of shape I really was as I struggled through the water that kept pushing me back towards shore.
Determination set in, though, and I finally made it where I needed to be. With the instructor holding my board then telling me when to paddle and when to pop-up, I headed out on my first (little) wave. And kind of rolled off the board into the water instead of popping-up .... blah. Thank goodness for the strap attaching the board to my ankle!
Our oldest caught the very first wave and surfed it in like a pro. Then our youngest, then my husband and then .... me! I finally got a feel for the wave as I paddled and could tell when I should try to stand. After twenty some years, I surfed. And it was great! (Not my surfing. Lol! The fact that I'd finally done it.)
I have the pictures to prove that I did look a little goofy. At least compared to a fit surfer who knows what they're doing, but I did it. And I'm looking forward to doing it again!! Even on the small beginner waves we were on it was a lot of fun. And such good exercise! We were all stiff and sore the next day, but it was so worth it!
No sense having regrets about not finding a way to try it earlier since that can't be changed, but I am trying to remind myself that having dreams and then striving to accomplish them is wonderful. It's a big part of what makes life exciting. And a lot of excuses are just silly. So what if I looked goofy. My family still loves me ; >) and I'm pretty sure that no one else who saw me cared how I looked in the least.
Do you have a life-long dream? Have you been working towards achieving it? Are you going to?
