Bitter draught
Second coffee, before the sun
Bitter draught awakens spirits
Quietly to not awaken, them
Brooding creatures, darkness slumbers
Feet pound overhead
Dresser bangs, sweatpants selection
Good morning Daddy
Good morning Buddy
WordPress is not letting me answer prompts today, I guess I’m locked out now. Still tagging in, I’ll have to find another prompt generator to keep me going. This has been actig as my morning routine for a while. A bit of exercise. And like most workouts, I strike out, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t bother. I appreciate anyone who takes a moment out of their day to read my poetry.

Weak impression

View all responsesQuery, question, curious inquiry
Random thought, nearly forgotten
Historical tidbit, pop culture icon
Knowledge sought, already lost
Easily satisfied quest fulfilled
Passing interest, weak impression
The power and weakness of eaily gained knowledge, is the weak impression it leaves. I will often follow my curiosity through articles and scholarship on a topic. And when it is done, all i’m left is a bit light connection to the topic, something just out of grasp that I need to reach for if I want to recall the details later.
I tried to answer the daily prompt, but I had already answered it, and several others. I guess the list isn’t that long here at WordPress. Draining the well after nearly a year of this.

Ascent

View all responsesExcitement, exciting exiting
Elations departing emotion
Peaks and valleys aroused
Level terrain elicits boredom
Ground swells invitations
Mountain crags challenge
Ascent from the descent
Excitement measured
This feels like a variation of a prompt from earlier in the week. Not much more to add on the topic but some sloppy word play while I sip my coffee.

Community garden

Cities are social structures, economically effective at bringing people together and creating an engine for generating transactions. But that isn’t always the goal, or healthy. It isn’t healthy for people, or for the planet. Not decrying them, they have a purpose. There is an overall benefit for the centralization of that activity and its ability to spread out within a region, downsides too. Not really the point of this post. But when I think about community, I think about neighbors sharing the products of their gardens, and kids riding their bikes to a local store to buy bread, maybe a treat too. When we allow for communities to be zoned for this kind of decentralized shopping, and less reliance on big box stores, these things can thrive. Not the most economically advantageous, but there are ecological benefits. We are products of our ecosystem after all.

Title probably suggests there would be more to this one. Still catching up on sleep I suppose. Long week. My personality always leans toward the more leveled approach of stoicism. I try not to have too many highs, because there is always a down from there.
As a final comment, the goal is never to erase emotions, being a robot. Only to manage them, too many highs are a problem, as much as too low of lows.
