Peaceful conquest

Peaceful state, state of mind
Given gift, conquered territory
Defense against, internal threat
Inside job, closest allies betrayal
Greatest enemy, focused attack
Conquer yourself, peaceful result

Handy work

Cracked dry hands
Summer heat exhausts
Blue collar character
Hard days work ahead
Accepted challenges
Projects anticipated
Communities built
By capable hands
There is a lot to be said about the smart capable people who get educated and who are generally well compensated for their skills. There is also something to be said for the hard working people who put in the physical work every day to build real things in our communities.

Wares and wears

A shop of wares, wears, but where?
Location, location, location, hmm.
Cheap trinkets, or luxury goods?
Snacks or a meal, overpriced wings.
Objects of value, lifelong branding
Forgettable goods, fungible trash
A restaurant, feed my community
Or a mill, craft and build together
Design software, Valley bro cash
Or handmade, something to touch
Build a business, offer employment
Benefits, community, fair wages

Back pain

Before I go
Tap the pockets
One last check

Check

Family responsibility
Check

I’m going to need
Bigger pockets

Galactic pathway

A world of change
Constant rotation
Upon wobbly axis
Oblong rotation
Solar trajectory
Galactic pathway
Expanding universe
Unfathomable scale
Infinite possibility
Tiny home planet
Flawed peoples
Humble poetry
I’ve been regularly blogging for nearly a year now, the poetry started closer to November, but regardless. There should probably be more intention in what I do. But I think that will come later, I’m still too much of a novice to expect anything beyond a bit of daily practice. Exercise in preparation for some unknown in the future. Maybe spread a bit of positivity along the way. For those who are interested.

Substitute life

Alternate universe
Substitute life
Exchange opportunities
Reimagine everything
More than enough
Not ready to give up
Too much to do
Adequate possibilities
It is fun to imagine alternate possibilities, a nice escape. But there is a lot of life left to be lived here. There is a bias toward believing that our lives are not of our own design. There is heavy influence from the outside world, but we still have the ability to influence the outcome.
I’m in the camp, unpleasant as it may be often times that there is balance to self reflection, identifying where we could do better, make improvements, without falling into a trap of self deprecating despair. Learn from your mistakes, forgive yourself, and get back to making your life better. No one else will do it for you, and you can’t rely on the multiverse to handle it.

Kids meal

Table for five
Kids menus, yes
Ok, yes crayons
Corndogs, sure
It is noisy, yes
No, soda, ok
Hey, you listen
Headphone out
An appetizer, yes
I guess two, sure
You don’t have
Chocolate milk?
It isn’t very busy
This should be…
Where did the
Waiter get off to
Oh, nice finally
Silverware please
The corndog, umm
Oh shoot, I’m sorry
Ugh, it is late
Ice cream, please?
No, not tonight
But, please, please
Check please
Of course, right here
Is this with tip?
No, oh wow, what?
I think we all know this one, at least the folks with kids. Not that restaurants have all gotten more expensive. I’ve had fine dining cost less than a night out with the kids.
