my tribe worked up enough funding to have signs in our language made and a tribal member put them up themselves.

not reblog-worthy ndn news to most, but when you have next to nothing of your culture left, just seeing your language posted on a sign is enough to bring tears to your eyes and make everyone’s morning.

Sometimes it blows my mind that there are people that don’t wear glasses/contacts. Like they can literally see with no aid. Like they wake up and just be out here seeing. What a wild concept.

And people say stuff like ‘lol don’t you hate it when you look up in the middle of the night and see a spider on your ceiling’ like bitch (!!) i could have Nicholas II last czar of Russia hangin from my ceiling fan and i would be none the wiser

this is from a real diary by a 13-year-old girl in 1870. teenage girls are awesome and they’ve always been that way.

Read this - oh my goodness, this girl was wonderful.

Where can I read this in full?

It’s from

Real American Girls Tell Their Own Stories, and that particular section is by Martha Carey Thomas who grew up to be a suffragist, linguist and renowned educator, as well as a badass lesbian.

whoa i’ve seen this post a million times but i didn’t know the author had such a cool later life

M. Carey Thomas was also the first female president of Bryn Mawr College! Her ashes are interred on the campus and she’s a very important part of the school’s legacy. However like all historical figures, she is complex, and it would be ignorant to talk about her being a brilliant woman, a feminist, and a lesbian without acknowledging her well-documented racism and antisemitism (see 1916 section of this page). This doesn’t make her any less important to the school’s history, but it’s crucial to keep in mind that she was still a product of her time in many respects.

Imagine stabbing someone with this knife.

It would instantly cauterize the would, so the person wouldn’t bleed, so it’s not very useful.

if you want information it is

and above, in order, we see a gryffindor, a ravenclaw, and a slytherin

why would you stab a PERSON when you can have TOAST?

There’s the hufflepuff
