I’m not sure how many people realize how important representation in the media of those with differences is. Being able to explain my missing arm in reference to finding nemo (“he just had a ‘lucky fin’ and he was fine”) or have someone watch Mad Max Fury Road and see a bad ass female who just happens to be missing her arm has made life a lot easier. No one asks her what happened (it doesn’t matter), no one asks if she needs help (and she doesn’t), and not once does she bring it up as the purpose of her character (usually disabled characters only talk about their disability). Including those with differences only adds to the story line as well as makes the film/tv show/etc more realistic. We exist. We are normal people. We do normal things, like taking advantage of an awesome costume opportunity. I want to dress up as furiosa every day forever!
Thank you to southern45acp for making awesome functioning post-apocalyptic prosthetic arm!
BEAUTIFUL
Yes to this on all the levels! Everyone needs representation and that is one badass cosplay!

Lina Viktor is a New York-based fine artist & painter from London who uses patterns, symbolism, and iconography to address grand archetypes and concepts of infinity, greatness, and transcendence. Her acuminous paintings are composed of original black, white, and gold patterns that are gilded with 24-karat gold directly onto the canvas, amplifying the ornate sensibility that informs the framework of her riotous, powerful images.
Since her recent emergence, she has exhibited her work alongside Andy Warhol, Takashi Murakami, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Peter Beard, Tom Sachs, & Ryan McGinley, and has sold all of her paintings to date. (source)

white vegans be like “honey is unethical because the bees worked so hard on it that’s why I like the completely ethical alternative of sugar harvested by underpaid and abused fieldworkers”
