A change of scene can be reinvigorating, and I had the opportunity to experience a totally different setting for a few days.

I swapped my quiet room, and the tranquil, rolling hills of Devon for the fast-paced hurly burly of London so that I could attend the Self Publishing Show Live. This event has become the largest conference for independent authors in Europe, and I had a whale of a time. A writing update and talking about what’s coming next

Today, I’m chatting about my next writing project as I walk through the Devonshire fields with Lottie.

Will it be a Devonshire Mystery or a spin-off story?

My ideas are at an early stage, so you’re getting a sneak peek into the process right from the ground up.

If you have a question for me, please pop it in a comment or drop me a line and let me know. I’ll answer it as best as I can.

You can listen below, download the audio, or subscribe. Thank you for listening.

Sue and I took a trip to the coastal town of Teignmouth, which is on the estuary of the river Teign, and the town was looking cheerful in the sunshine.

It was a nice day to stroll along the beach, and there were quite a few groups of young people chilling out on the beach.

One of these days, I’d like to set a story in this town. There are all kinds of curious little alleyways and other features that make the place quite intriguing.

I hope you like the photos. If you’re a member of the site, plea...

I’m pleased to say that Lottie is feeling better, and she’s back to sniffing around her favourite haunts, albeit slowly.

I’ve been enjoying my new bike, and I cycled up the nearby reservoirs, almost all of it uphill. There was a bit of puffing and panting, but the views over the reservoirs, especially the rhododendrons beside Kennick, were totally worth it.

Back at home, I treated myself to a glass of my home-brewed beer. It’s my first attempt, and it’s actually pretty good.

I hope you like the ...

Featured Photos – 15 June, 2022

Last week, our Labrador, Lottie, was ill. She’s okay now, but things were a bit upside down last week, so I didn’t post any photos.

Today, I’m catching up with some photos from the weekend of Queen Elizabeth’s 70th Jubilee.

I was a young lad during the silver jubilee, but I remember the street party, and I still have the souvenir mug I was given.

For this jubilee, the village party was indoors because of the weather, but people outdid themselves, and I have never seen so much cake in one place.
