The Proof Has Arrived!
I’m proud to announce that two weeks ago I received the physical proof of Anna:The Starseed Series. Looks pretty snazzy, huh?

The Print Proof for ‘Anna’
I’m even prouder to announce that the proof’s publishing date is the same as my new baby girl’s birthdate. Liliana and Anna were both “born” on the same day.
Here’s Lili in her Eeyore hat.
That’s why it’s taken me so long to update you. I’ve been busy with new mom duties and helping Lili adjust. I’m running on about three hours sleep, so this upd...

Final Manuscript for ‘Anna’ Submitted!
Last week, I received the last edits for Anna. They were completed using Createspace’s basic copyediting services. If you’ve been following along, you know this is the second round of editing. The first was a comprehensive edit that looked at how the whole story went together, including inconsistencies and basic grammar. That was done with a completely different editor than this round of editing.
I chose to do a second round of editing, because I expected the comprehensive edit to reveal some...

Less of an update…
…and more of a “Hey, I’m not dead!”
Anna has been at the editor for the second proof editing for a few weeks now. I’ve been patiently (read: “not so patiently”) waiting for it to come back. This round has felt longer than the last, because I haven’t had anything else to do for the book. Once I get the manuscript back, I can submit it for internal formatting and a proof copy will be mailed to me. I can’t wait!
About the time the manuscript is due back is also when my baby girl is due. So, it’s a...

Which Will Come First?…and 5th Wave
Not much to update about Anna. I’m waiting on the second round of editing, which is basic proofreading. The max it should take is 4 weeks, but the last edit took less than 4 weeks and required more work, so there’s a chance it will be sooner. Now, it’s just a bet as to what will come first, the final text of the book or the baby.
Not much writing happening outside of my full-time job. If you’ve ever been pregnant, you probably know why. I’m in my last 6 weeks, so I’m waking up every hour of th...

Cover Winner and more!
Thank you to everyone who voted for their favorite cover! After the first influx of votes, I really thought that Cover 2 was going to win. Then, votes trickled in over the following days and we ended up with a TIE yesterday! I thought I was going to have to figure out a clever way to do a tie breaker, but this morning I woke up to find there was a comment posted late last night. A voter had changed their mind! So, thank you Jessica for being the unintentional tie breaker!
The winning cover is...

Vote for a Cover!
Did you pledge to support Anna on Kickstarter or personally through me? Leave a comment below explaining which cover you like more. On Friday, May 24th, I’ll tally up the votes and that one will be the chosen cover! I know which one I like, but I want to know what YOU think!
Clicking on a picture will make it larger…
Note: I had to make a .jpg from the .PDF they sent me. In the .PDF, the white text is much brighter and easier to read.
The voting time is short. So, don’t wait! Comme...

Cover Art Delayed and Interior Design Revealed
It’s been a few weeks since I last updated. If you follow my page on Facebook, you probably know that the cover art didn’t turn out quite like I wanted it. The cover artist got the general idea of what I was trying to do, but the specifics that actually represent the characters and symbols in my book got skewed along the way. Last week, I was planning on sending out an update to everyone who pledged to let them vote on the covers, but I had to postpone it until I got everything straightened o...

Phone Meeting About ‘Anna’ with Createspace
Friday, I had a phone meeting with my team (ambiguously called “Team 5″), and I have a lot to share!
First, I spoke with the person in charge of editing. She wasn’t the editor, but rather the liaison who finds the best editor for the project and makes sure all needs are met according to the agreement with Createspace. She was very friendly and thorough explaining the services and answering my questions. She assured me that she would try to arrange the editor to be one of the few who specialize...

And So It Begins with Createspace!
I just finished filling out all the questionnaires and submitting my files for publishing to Createspace. They ask a lot of questions from what the tone of your novel is to what shouldn’t be included in promotional material text (no spoilers please!). Needless to say, my brain is a little fried. It’s easy knowing what feeling and ideas you want to convey when you’re writing, not so easy putting that in writing for someone unfamiliar with your book.
I now await my phone consultation to go over...
