Just how much?

What did I learn today?I am extremely humbled, grateful and excited to have the opportunity to share the lessons I have learnt on my journeys,  its a funny thing  that happens when I pay attention and be fully present! This month  I want to share the lessons learnt on authenticity! Feel free to share yours!Authenticity – the creativity, the love, everything of value is really about finding one’s authenticity and giving it expression! You always fear that your authenticity will not be appreciated by those whom you love. And you are probably right. Authenticity is rarely appreciated by anyone other than the author. So what will be your measuring stick? – your own internal valuation of yourself of the price tag others place on you? Why do you cheap yourself up, and why do you place everything given to you on an action block for the bidding? Are you so consumed with your materialistic point of view that nothing is of worth unless it has an exchange value placed on it by someone else? Must the price of everything be determined by how much someone else is willing to give for it?What about yourself? What are you willing to give for what you have? How much are you willing to invest in yourself and in your own ideas and creative expression?Just how much?
Peace

An Intention is a Declaration

I ntention: An intention is a declaration of expectation to the Universe of life that brings your mind into alignment with the desires of your heart. When setting an intention it is important for you to state exactly what you want to experience without any attachment to how that experience should manifest. Honesty is the key element. Do not ask what you are not willing to work for .Iyanla Vanzant

One of my favorite teachers always says "Madam, what is your intention?" I always laughed and said I don't want to marry you! That was a private joke between us because I somehow associated the word intentions with courting and getting married! My grandfather would ask any young man who came around me "Young man, what are your intentions?"
Now that I have been exposed to so many teachers and experiences I know and understand the importance of intentions and setting them! Key thing for me is to "get out of my own way" once I have done the work and have the faith!

What I learnt is that Intent is more than a goal, it's a place of integration. Your intent is a place where your motives, fears, anxieties, possibility, awareness, surrender , desires all come into play. I've learnt not to confuse desire with intent. Desire there is a longing, intent there is clarity, Intent arrives before you do,once your intent is pure everything in fact will turn out allright!

Intent is about what you plan to do what you do, why and the motivation and as Universal law, what you sow is what you reap, if your intent is to manipulate, control, camouflage, lie cheat steal, or the like whether you know it, chose it or not it's coming back to bite you in the arse!

So, my intentions, in 2015, I am paying attention to, I am paying attention to the lesson in my readiness for this time and place called 2015!
I'm ready!
Peace!!

Dear 2015

Dear 2015It’s me, Akosua, some call me Yaki! I am ready for you!I am ready for the infinite abundance that is in me that I forget and many times fear to claim!I am ready for the light and to know  and know and know that light can also come in through the cracks! So don’t fret about them cracks them!I am ready and willing and open to use my super powers which were given to me by the Universe the day I was created! I am ready to  be done with the mediocrity, the excuses, the inauthenticity, the arseness, the pretense.  Nope, not round here!I am ready to love with my heart wide open, my eyes wide open and my intuition whispering to me every day when the sun rises!I will remind myself daily that there is nothing that exists that is too good for me and I come from a long line of successful living beings. I will remind myself to call on the ancestors whenever I need to and listen for the answerI am ready to reclaim the power when I forget that I have it because sometimes trust me, I do forget! And the power means knowing that I went to bed each night having done my very best, to see the lesson and the blessing in every single thing and to know no matter what is going on I will be ok. I am ready to stop making excuses for bad behaviour, mine and others, in my life and spaceI am ready to accept and acknowledge that I live by grace, built by loveLight streaming through me. Angels comforting and cueing me to the next best everything.I am done with what needs to be done -- and is. And I am ready for what's right around the corner. More than ever.Bring it! Ah ready! December 31, 2014

Good bye 2014!

2014 was indeed one of the best years of my life, with everything that happened, the good, the not so good, the great and the ugly!I chose to step into uncertainty and I was scared shitless! (excuse my French) I remember stating the year with enough rent for 2 months and to rent a car for 2 weeks and 600 in cash, no job, no prospects and too much pride to ask anyone for anything because I said I chose this I owned it! I had my book, I had my family, I had my friends and I had the Universe behind me full tilt and I stepped into Life and 365 days later I have learnt so much and will take the things I want to take into 2015 and leave the rest!
When we see that EVERYTHING is happening FOR US and never TO US, we see the tremendous
amount of Grace that our lives are filled with and we can nestle into that knowing
that - indeed, every-little-thing-is-gunna-be-alright - and even better than that,
everything is PERFECT as it is! So for today, leave the goal setting aside, leave
the achieving at the door and just reflect - reflect on this year that is gone.

What can you let go of? What would feel SO GREAT to be free of? What are you most
terrified to admit? Then - step into it and let it go!
We will open the book.  Its pages are blank.  We are going to put words on them
ourselves.  The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's
Day.We are all moving ahead into 2015 - it's close enough. But for this moment, let
us think back about the year, let us reflect, take a moment to pause and really
give 2014 a conscious goodbye - and with it - the habits, stories and beliefs that
should stay with it. The first step to creating something new is letting go of what
no longer serves you. What no longer serves you?Peace!

El Salvador stories

If possible, each time you leave the house, take with you something that doesn’t come back!  Pick a habit, belief, behaviour, or some emotional residue or energetic holdings that no longer serves you. C hela Davidson
Just over an hour' drive from San Salvador is the town of Sushitoto. The town is a complete throwback in terms of the so called modern things that we associate with a town! There are cobble stoned streets, big plazas with a church in the middle, hand made snow cones but at the same time it is the most progressive town in terms of social causes, women's rights and women empowerment! I spent the day there with the Casa De Mujer. They are some radical women who are determined to make their lives, their children lives and the town a better place! They focus on Entrepreneurship, Women's Rights and Equality, Children's rights and Ending Violence. There are museums, shops, hotels, art exhibitions all in the town for the people by the people, there are schools and churches and love and love and love for the people by the people! it was more than just an inspiring visit for me it was one to which I will always be grateful for the opportunity! I will definitely be back in 2015 (my espanol needs some work though, talk about butchering the words and providing entertainment to the women!!)Peace!!

The El Salvador Experience

Fear is a natural reaction to moving closer to the truth-  Fear comes with not knowing what is going to happen next - Perma Chandon
I am getting ready to go on the road again, checking in to give an update! Off to Suschitoto! A historic place that played a huge part in the revolution! I get to visit another women's organisationIn the war, the women were majors and generals and after the war they insisted that if you made us fight with you side by side now everything must be equal! They have quite an impressive gender policy coming out of that! I thought that was quite awesome
I will drive for about two hours to get there, well not me but someone, Robert, will be taking me!
I know not what happens next but I know it will be good , its all good!Peace!!

El Salvador I am here!

You are exactly where you are because all that you have to give and receive is right where you are now. Where you are now is valuable and important, everything you can so is doable right where you are. If you were over there or over here there would be a big void where you are now. How much do you believe in who you are?, serve where you are and use what you know can make a very big difference in who you become, where you go and what you do when you get to the next place!
Been here for a few days now, I must admit, my soul feels great! That's my measure of a place! I ask my soul or it just tells me immediately!
I love the place! I am excited to start working here in 2015 and I give thanks for this opportunity

It's been a packed few days!
Robert my guide picked me up with his wife and son and we have been on the road for two days, we even got down to the Guatemalan border!
El Salvador is a mixture of modern and throw back! There are malls like the US and then there are ancient towns with donkey's and art and magnificent churches! I have managed to even do a hike to see a volcano as well!!
I have been practicing my Espanol with little success! providing laughs for a few of the natives in the mix!

I have a free day tomorrow so will be resting and writing a bit!!
Hope that your Christmas was awesome!!!
Paz!

I deserve the best

Here's how to know whether you're putting up with less than you deserve:

·  When you have to work yourself into a state of excitement rather than naturally experiencing joy and passion, you're probably settling.

·  When you bargain with yourself about what you can do without rather than feeling gratitude for what you already have, you're probably settling.

·  When your focus is on the time and energy you've invested in an endeavor rather than the love, joy and gratification you've gained, you're probably settling.

·  When you're making excuses about why you should stay put rather than going for what you truly want, you're probably settling.

·  When you spend more time complaining about what you have than appreciating it, you're definitely settling.

Iyanla

The quote above was a reminder to me today to look in the mirror and say "I deserve the best!!!" and  I would urge you to do the same as of today and every day moving forward as and when necessary!
Too many times I have forgotten and fall into the "not enough, settling" mode, And by design I am given some reminders! So this is it today! I deserve the best!! Say it with me- I deserve the best!!Now go and act accordingly!!!Peace!!

Another perspective

“It is not fair to ask of others what you are not willing to do yourself.” Elanor Roosevelt
I haven't done the "Christmas thing" in ages! And thinking about it yesterday, usually by choice! And what I mean by the "Christmas thing" is the shopping, painting the house, changing the curtains. I have been either working or on holiday for Christmas for as long as I could remember.
I was reminded why yesterday, I decided to go to the mall. The traffic was out of this world! then to get a parking spot was also off another planet, I also wanted to go to a Christmas market, I finally got there and they were charging you to go in and shop! I jumped in the car and thought" yea this is why I run from this"
And just like that my perception changed..... no, not just like that LOL! I was driving in the traffic and saw some children by the road standing. As I passed them, I saw three trucks with people on them all dressed in red and with Santa Claus hats, one truck was filled with gifts, the other truck was filled with drinks and food and the last truck was blaring out music! The people in the Santa hats were distributing the food and gifts to the children on the side of the road!! I literally stopped the car! No joke, I stopped the car to watch what was happening. The faces of the children, the faces of the Santa hat people! absolutely priceless. I smiled all afternoon, the traffic had a different meaning and I was reminded that there is more than a single story! It made me think, yea there is indeed another part of the "Christmas thing" and I get to choose which one I want to do!Peace!!
