Stay Relevant
learning is invisible and what has been learned can be recognized only by its results.
(ACIM) I Absolutely love the Course in Miracles!!!
"Stay Relevant" - What a small statement with a whole lot of weight! Someone, a friend that I appreciate immensely, mentioned this to me on Thursday.
I thought hmmm "stay relevant" this can be applied to all relationships, work, personal, career, you name it! It can be applied to companies as well. Powerful indeed.
I appreciated this piece of advice and resonated with me. Many companies have gone out of business because they did not stay relevant. The CD Walkman, the VCR, the mainframe computer and I can go on, were no longer relevant and are now resigned to the irrelevant dustbin!
What about relationships? Are you remaining relevant in your relationships?
So, how do I stay relevant? I believe authenticity and a sense of purpose plays a huge role in this. the urban way might say it like "What you for?" or " Who you be?" What do you stand for and why are you doing it? What is the intention behind it? Is it love or fear?
That's my thoughts on it for now, to be continued.....
Peace!

Boundaries emerge from within
“Boundaries emerge from deep within. They are connected to letting go of guilt and shame, and to changing our beliefs about what we deserve. As our thinking about this becomes clearer, so will our boundaries. Boundaries are also connected to a Higher Timing than our own. We’ll set a limit when we’re ready, and not a moment before. So will others. There’s something magical about reaching that point of becoming ready to set a limit. We know we mean what we say; others take us seriously too. Things change, not because we’re controlling others, but because we’ve changed.”
Melody Beatie
I was telling a friend this week that there are many many times that I feel unstoppable, like I can do anything, feel the fear and jump in! On those days the Universe tests me in many ways like in December when I had to climb up some rocks to get to a destination in El Salvador. There was no other way! And I said hey, let's do this! I'm all in. There are other times when I have to speak to a crowd and its the same I say wow, I am here I'm awesome let's roll baby girl!
And then here I am, like a bowl of jello with relationships, any kind of relationship, work, romantic, friendships. Building them and letting them go! The lion turns into a pussycat! I must admit that I have gotten much better with the tools and lessons learnt over the past couple of years. But last night after my mini panic I realized that it's all good as the interactions we have with the other person evoke the responses within us that require healing, the healing takes place when we chose a new response. The interactions indicate that I am in the process of healing! I know that there are certain things about myself I need to know and acknowledge. As soon as I realized that I gave thanks! I am in the right placePeace!!

Almost there is a dangerous place to be
You will never fully be who you are or express your truth unless you can love yourself and accept yourself unconditionally. Most of us come from cultures and societies that do not promote, or even support, self-love and we often feel judged if we love ourselves, value ourselves or put ourselves first . Anita Morjani
My desire for the rest of my life starting in 2015 is to use the power downloaded into my being as a force to serve! What does that mean? To tap into my personal power which comprises of physical, mental, emotional, spiritual parts of me which contributes to the highest version of me that I can share with the world. I have been disciplined and resolute in my conviction for the past 45 days and what I learnt is that things will come up to test you when you are on the path, when you are "almost there" Iyanla Vanzant sums it up nicely she says "Almost There Is A Dangerous Place To Be." At the beginning of the journey, you lose nothing by changing your mind and delaying the journey. You have put nothing in so you lose nothing. When you are half way there, you may choose that the rest of the journey is not important and by going back, you lose no more than you have gained. When, however, you are almost there, and things start to break down, get hard and look bleak, turning back is a mighty temptation. You cannot see the finish line but you can no longer see where you have come from. When you are almost there, those who did not want you to go call for you to come back and, you are tempted to listen. When you are almost there, things that do not want to be change will erect roadblocks and obstacles so that they get to stay the same. When you are almost there you begin to get tired, to doubt and to feel the frustration of having put in so much but have received less than you thought you would. When you are almost there you begin to wonder if the trip was worth it. The enemy within you you gets riled up and begins to challenge you. When you are almost there, the energies of darkness whose job it is to keep you from the light will bite your butt, nip at your heels, dangle prizes and temptations before you, present real and imagined dangers in an attempt to force you to turn back. For this reason, when you are almost there, more than half way there, you must dig deep, put the pedal to the floor, rev up the power and KEEP IT MOVING! You are almost therePeace!

Are you trippin?
Do not jump to conclusions, you may be wrong!
Iyanla Vanzant
Trippin'! Do you know what trippin' is? The urban dictionary defines it as "When someone is overreacting or getting all bent out of shape over something small."
I have been trippin' over the past few days and working myself up! It hasn't been pretty! So here's the deal, there is no fear, none! The things that we work ourselves up over are part of the journey, a message, a passing cloud. We hold on to it and terrorize ourselves for no good reason!
A very powerful affirmation is "So what?" and really, so what? Half of the things we trip over aren't real and the other half is to make you pay attention to what is!
So according to Jill Scott "Let me stop all this trippin..... and listen"
Peace!

The Universe always answers your questions
The Universe will answer any question that you ask so if you ask a low level question you will receive a low level dis empowering answer. Like why me? What’s wrong? Who’s to blame? Those are dis empowering questions, but if you ask How does the Universe see itself living my life? What is the next stage of my evolution? What’s starting to emerge as a gift of my being? What is God’s idea of my life? What must I become in order to manifest this vision that I am beginning to articulate? What gifts do I already have that can be of service to this vision? What do I need to let go of?
Michael Bernard Beckwith
Full speed ahead on the finishing touches of the book! Last night as I was making some final adjustments I couldn't help but think that it holds true that when you declare your intentions and goals to the Universe and make the steps to do the work magic happens!
My friend Keisha offered to help me and made good on her promise an took her entire weekends to work on this, my cousin Onica did the same thing, other friends in the UK, Katy and Lisa also played a huge role! People were offering to help me at every turn. I appreciate each and every one of them and their gestures!
You have to go there! You have to go towards the goal it will not come to meet you and that means taking action. Less talk, more action and walk with the fear, turn it into excitement and enthusiasm
I'm completely scared on this journey to finish this book but I keep telling myself " self, get excited you're gonna learn a whole lotta new lessons, meet a whole lotta cool people and visit a whole lotta new places" and I'm leaving it right there!
Take actionTurn the fear into excitementGo there!Peace!!
Look out for my new book "Nyabo (Madam) - Why are you here? The Truth About Living in Service, Love and Personal Power" out soon

Lessons and more lessons
When there is acceptance, judgment no longer has any power.
Panache Desai
I have been learning tons of lessons over the past few days! Life is full of surprises and possibilities. I strongly believe that the Universe is an infinite opportunity machine., To tap into it we must go "there", where we put the work in and ask the right questions.
I wake up everyday and know that my life as it stands now is a gift and that everyday brings with it so many surprises! Life is delighted to surprise me and now I am pretty comfortable with every surpriseThis is what I have been practicing over the past week, watching the feelings that I have pass through me rather than holding on to them and judging them. I embrace it, feel it and then let it go.Let me tell you, it is one of the best things I have decided to do.
This morning a good friend of mine called me and we were chatting and I asked about another friend and she started crying uncontrollably! I was stunned at her response! She gave me some sobering news in between the sobs that our friend is dying and will die soon, in less than one month. Now I immediately thought ok this is what the Universe was preparing me for, to sit in the feelings and let it pass! Usually I would just start talking about it, say something positive and bottle it up, but I cried! and it felt much better! I am sitting with this feeling today and letting it pass and recognizing that life is indeed a gift and all the shit that I fuss about is so insignificant when I can be sharing my gifts with the world, having fun and living my life to the fullest!
So on Carnival Tuesday in Port of Spain, this is the festival where I experience the most freedom. People are on the streets partying and having fun, I made a vow to myself to experience all of it if I want to and stop making up excuses! to embody the freedom that the festival promotes today and forward. To live my life to the max! I want to know that when I am gone I have done my best and left an impression just as my friend will that has us crying our eyes out on Carnival Tuesday not only with sadness but with a joy knowing that it is a great person who we had the absolute honor of knowing!
Peace!!

You're not lazy
You’re not lazy; you’re afraidWhen you stall.
When you procrastinate.
When you make two steps of progress and then five steps back.
When you lie about your progress.
When you don’t tell anyone of your plans so that you’ll never need to lie about your progress.
When you tell everyone of your plans so that you’ll be accountable, and it totally backfires.
When you sit down with your lucky pencil and a perfectly quiet work environment and then suddenly it’s all too quiet and you just gotta get out of there and go to the coffee shop but then at the coffee shop you can’t fucking concentrate.
When all of those things happen, you’re not lazy. You’re afraid.
Hopefully, you’re not too afraid to decide that today’s the day you’re going to…deal with it. Even if it scares the bejeesus out of you to make even one step in the direction of your soul’s calling, that’s exactly what it looks like to work with and through your fear. That’s exactly what it looks like to be with it.
No superhero antics required. Ordinary courage is all it takes.
Thank you to Kate Courageous for this wonderful lesson!

An Aha Moment
We hold on. Because Love does that. Embracing, rocking, reserving space. Love holds, it treasures, it tucks away for safe keeping, it loyally protects. Holding on is one of the many great powers of Love.
And it feels so good to hold on that sometimes we forget to look at what we’re holding on to. Danielle LaPorte
I'm reading Micheal Singer's work right now and having multiple Aha moments! Just yesterday I was at the bank, the line was long and luckily I had the book with me I started reading it while waiting to be attended to and the Aha moments were so strong I did not even realize that I was talking loud! I shouted out" OMG this is super stuff!" There were some eyes on me! I chuckled
But needless to say I wanted to share a snippet with you, maybe it can speak to you or even someone you know
" If you are doing something to avoid pain then pain is running your life. If you are afraid of being rejected by someone you approach and you approach that person with the intention of winning their acceptance you are skating on thin ice. All they have to do is look at you sideways or say the wrong thing and you will feel the pain of rejection, you're going to be dancing on the edge of rejection throughout the interaction.
Your personality traits and behavior patterns are all about avoiding this pain. You avoid it by keeping your weight at a certain level, wearing certain clothes, talking a certain way, and choosing a certain hairstyle. If.If you want to validate this, just see what happens when someone criticizes your clothes; you feel pain. Every time you do something in the name of avoiding pain, that something becomes a link that holds the potential for the pain you are avoiding.

What are you thinking?
Your point of attraction is caused by your thoughts. The way you feel is caused by the thoughts you are thinking. So the way you feel about yourself is your strong and powerful magnetic point of attraction. When you think and feel poor, you cannot attract prosperity. When you think and feel fat, you cannot become thin. When you feel lonely, you cannot attract companionship. - - this level of thinking defies the Law of Attraction. You cannot and will not attract what you do not and cannot hold positively and powerfully in thought. When you can only see what is, you will attract more of what is. You must be able to put your thoughts beyond what is in order to attract something different, something more
. Esther and Jerry Hicks
What have I been thinking about? Do you know how I know, apart from asking myself? I look at what is happening and manifesting itself in my own life! Why? Because believe it or not, my thoughts, our thoughts, reflect in my life, and in yours.
Wake up call!!!
Now the trick for me is when the thoughts come up, and many many thoughts do, is to recognize the ones that are positive and constructive and leave the the others! The fear based thoughts are the ones to leave alone, let them pass by like a cloud.
My fear is rejection and not being liked! That fear sometimes comes over me and bleed into my thoughts and then my mind starts going a mile a minute. But I have learnt to let the thoughts pass and take the mindset of "so what?" if they don't. Not in a detached way but in a way that says this is feedback and there are many other people around! I also speak to myself that fear is not a problem, it is just a thing in the Universe, its a temporary experience! This too shall pass!
So what am I thinking?
Peace!!

What is Joy?
Go ahead and let the spirit of joy has its way with you! David Rudder
If anyone asked me the question what is Joy, my standard response would be an internal feeling coming from within that transcends happiness, and I can tell you what gave me joy! But wow, I think that I have seen joy in the flesh last night!
I went to Junior Panorama, this is a competition based in Trinidad and Tobago during the carnival season where children under the age of 16 play the steel plan, the national instrument of the country!
I stood there watching an eight to ten year old pan players and I started to weep! They were sending out an energy that I cannot even explain! Tears just kept falling I felt so much joy to see their joy! It is something, a feeling I haven't experienced in a long long long time! The kids were looking at me like I'm a mad woman, standing there crying while they were so happy! That for me was joy!
And just randomly I ended up there! Didn't even plan it! So this as well made me swell with gratitude that I was led to see this outpouring of joy and happiness and freedom!
It was the best moment of the year so far for me!
Give thanks
Peace!!
