I sometimes think of the past

as a person that I never met

but cannot seem to get out

of my head. I mourn the past

as if it was the life I was meant to live.”

of insults, heartache or misplaced

trust. Imagine if we could redo

everything. Imagine if we could

go back to the start and introduce

ourselves with hands clean

of mistakes and no recollection

of what it was that broke us.

If only we could start over -

then maybe we’d be stronger

than ever before.”

I don’t blame you for the anger

you feel for me, because

I know how much of a mess

I left you with when I decided

to leave you. But with that

being said, how could you

blame me for leaving

when all you ever did

was try to drive me away?”
