“Monty…you goddamn well better mean what I see in your eyes,” he ground out. Her gaze dropped to his mouth, her lips parting and she lifted her face closer to his. Crushing his mouth to hers, he demanded immediate entrance with his tongue, caressing, seeking, and letting his unbridled passion out in this one scorching kiss. Taming the Country Star by Margo Bond Collins

   Blurb:

He'll do anything to win her heart. She'll do anything to keep him away.
Country star Cole Grayson is in town, and Kylie Andrews is less than thrilled. As if months of changing the radio station and tearing down his posters weren’t bad enough, now she has to deal with a town of fans swarming toward the man who deceived her the year before. But when Kylie’s eyes meet Cole’s again, she can’t deny the electric chemistry that drew her to him the first time around.   Cole Grayson is on a mission. Ever since Kylie left him, he hasn’t been able to forget her sweet country smile. After writing a song just for her, he sets off for her hometown to prove he’s not the player she thinks he is. But as much as Cole can’t forget her, Kylie wonders if she can forgive him...
______________________________

Excerpt:  Kylie Andrews’s Texas-themed gift shop, Cowbelles, sat on the very outer edge of Fort Worth’s Stockyards District, not far from Jimmy’s Honky Tonk. And much to her dismay, no matter how often she cleared it, the wall adjacent to her store remained covered with announcements for local events. Like, for example, concerts.

She stared at the latest layer of advertisements.

From the topmost poster, Cole Grayson stared out at her, leaning against the edge of an old barn door, guitar at his feet. One booted foot was kicked up against the wooden wall behind him. His dark- blond hair curled around behind one ear and fell down across his eye on the other side. A cowboy hat rested on the ground next to the guitar. Her hand drifted up toward the image, hovering several inches from the picture of his face. She glanced around. None of the other shopkeepers were outside.

No one was watching. “Bastard,” she whispered to herself, and ripped the poster off the wall. At least, she tried to. It was thicker than she had expected, attached more firmly, and it resisted her pull. Chewing on her lip, she took another look around, dropped her bag to the ground, and reached up to grasp the edge with both fists, jerking at it in opposite directions. A tiny tear opened up along the side, and she yanked harder. Finally, the poster ripped—right across Cole Grayson’s lying eyes.

She tugged at the image some more, glancing around surreptitiously every few moments and dropping ragged pieces of paper on the ground at her feet, until there was nothing left on the wall but a few fluttering strips. Gathering the mutilated shreds together, she opened her bag and shoved them inside until they overflowed, bright ribbons of color in the morning light.

A MILE APART BY SARAH JAE FOSTER

Today the awesome book tour organizer, Fabulosity Reads have made it possible to have SARAH JAE FOSTER, the inspiring, talented author of A MILE APART, on my Blog!

BOOK SYNOPSIS
Only one thing stands between her and the man she loves…gold
Eden Montgomery arrived in the lawless territory of Whistle Creek as a newlywed, but she quickly lost her husband to his mistress…gold, and the claim he called The Golden Angel. When a premature blast at the cave killed her husband, and took the life of her unborn baby, Eden closed the mine…for good. Now she runs the local supply store, and in her bitterness, looks down on the men who shirk familial responsibilities in pursuit of something as meaningless as gold.Joseph Benton knows the crime, filth and disease of a mining camp is no place for a child. So when his young son Christopher suddenly arrives at his tent, he turns to Eden Montgomery to care for the boy. But the uppity and righteous Eden refuses. Joseph is shocked at what he thinks is her lack of maternal instinct. Now he’s torn between his need to strike gold…and his desire to be a father.

When a ruthless speculator encroaches on the camp, threatening Joseph and the other miners, Eden knows she must do the one thing she vowed never to do…for the one man she vowed never to love.

INTERVIEW WITH SARAH JAE FOSTER
1) Tell us a little about yourself.

My name is Sarah Jae Foster. I was born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Growing up, I spent a lot of time with my grandma and every Friday and Saturday night, we watched all of the old, classic westerns on TV until about 2 in the morning—it was the best time!

2) Have you always wanted to be a writer?

I never thought about being a writer when I was “growing up”, but I read about two books a week beginning at age 9 or 10, so I’ve always loved literature.

What do you think contributed to that decision?

The moment I decided I wanted to read stories that I could no longer find in the Christian market. That and, I’ve always researched history, I can’t think of a better opportunity to put my years of research to use—to entertain! I have a passion for reading and researching American history.

3) What led you to write in the Christian genre?

It’s the genre I know best and all I read growing up.. I’ve since broadened my horizons and have found many more extremely talented authors.

4) Why don't you tell us a little about the book you are currently promoting? Why are you passionate about it?

I’m so excited to share about A Mile Apart! I began researching mining in the 1800’s years ago, it’s always intrigued me…that pull, that addiction to find the next gold strike. Last year I finally sat down and the story began. I LOVE Eden! And Joseph, well, he’s a very unlikely hero, but I kept it raw and real to the time period.

5) Do you have any other titles already available or coming soon?

I would like to share about The Heart of a Soiled Dove, as it’s my first Amazon top 100 best-seller in all categories. It is a historical piece dealing with an ex-prostitute and her attempts to rescue other soiled doves from their surroundings. It is packed with evil sheriffs, pimps and soiled doves—the topic was definitely a challenge to keep true to the guidelines of the CBA.

6) How did you develop your writing?

Going to conferences, utilizing and knowing the importance of a professional editor. Feedback from mentors and industry professionals.

7) How do you write – lap top, pen, paper, in bed, at a desk?

I text ideas to myself – because naturally, they tend to come at night when I’m trying to sleep. I write everywhere, in bed, coffee shops, airports…

8) Tell us about your new book? What’s it about and why did you write it?

I am beginning to write the second book in the Soiled Dove series. Women in the west are my heroes. The things they went through and their tough skin, is something to honor. Book #2 is about another former soiled dove, overcoming life as it was handed to her.

9) When you are not writing, how do you like to relax?

I LOVE going to the spa and am grateful to be able to do that. I also read and enjoy watching thought-provoking, edgy films or TV series.

10) How often do you write? And when do you write?

At least 5 days a week. Afternoon and evening. NOT a morning person.

11) What do you hope people will take away from your writing? How will your words make them feel?

From the reviews, I’m gathering that readers appreciate the overcoming and restoration that happens in my novels.

12) Do you intend to make writing a career?

I was able to quit my day job Nov. 2013, so, yes!

13) What is your greatest strength as a writer?

Keeping Christian fiction clean, yet real, raw and edgy.

12) Will you write others in this same genre?

I will always write about the wild west. I have one contemporary out and plan on writing two more, but they are challenging for me. Writing a western comes natural.

13) Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

I don’t try for any messages. I want a reader to enjoy my writing, first and foremost, it’s entertainment.

14) Where can we purchase your books and how can we stay connected with you?

BOOK EXCERPT

It took several moments for Joseph to comprehend not only a female’s voice in the camp, but one calling out a Mr. Benton. By the time he got his bearings on the notion, his name had been called three times. Intrigued, he turned toward the whimsical voice and said with caution and curiosity, “I’m Joseph.”
In an instant, his heart fell like a stone as his eyes went from the shopkeeper to the little person at her side. Surely, his mind was playing with him and being cruel. It wouldn’t be the first time lack of nutrition did things to his head. But the apparition continued to move toward him. Then he heard a frightful word come from the boy.
“Pa!”He nearly choked and staggered backward. Questions assaulted him. Where was Katherine? Francis? Why is the storeowner frowning at him like she wanted to hurt him? And definitely, the man with her looked like he would carry out the deed.“Christopher?”
The woman gave his son a small nudge forward.Christopher ran, promptly wrapping his arms around his thighs. Joseph threw a confused glance at the woman, while planting his palm on top of his son’s familiar head. Before he could help it, he flung himself down and held on tight, likely to never let go. “I don’t understand, son. I was going to come home to you—why did you come?”
The woman emitted a sound of pity and Joseph looked up to see her turn away. Was she crying? Alarm shot through him. “Christopher, where’s your ma?”“She’s gone and died, Pa. Her and Baby Nell.”Baby Nell? Who was Baby Nell? He sat hunched on his heels, unable to speak, and buried his face into his hands. What had he done?
He became aware that the rest of the camp was now at a standstill—a woman and child coming into their midst was highly unnatural. Now all attention was on him and he didn’t like it. Imploringly, he pierced the woman with a look as she began walking away with the man.He found his voice and choked out, “Wait!”

Everett’s POV as he speaks to Reese: Go to lunch with me.” “Won’t the guys wonder why we’re going?” “I don’t give a flying fuck what any of them think about it.” “But I do. Remember?” She stands, and those eyebrows of hers are about to reach the peak of her forehead as her fists rest against her hips. Why in the hell did I agree to condition two? “Look, apparently you worked at stuffier establishments than this. We’re a family business, and everyone is laid back here. You’re paranoid. No one would think less of you because we like each other.” “I’m finishing my first fucking week here, and you think they’re not going to think differently of me?” Charging right at her, I pull her into my arms and take hold of her chin firmly. “You need to lower your own damn voice, and we’re about to wrestle if you don’t chill.” She exhales a frustrated breath as she leans her head back and stares at the ceiling. Her smooth throat calls to me like the wind when I’m riding. There’s never a destination far enough to get my fill of the open road, and I have an uneasy yet thrilling sense that I won’t get my fill of Reese, either. She’s layers of mystery that I need time to unfold, and her feistiness gets my blood coursing and dick throbbing, leaving me desperate for a release. Sliding my hands into the back of her hair, I hold her still and start at the hollow of her neck. The tip of my tongue embarks on its journey upward, making small circles. She swallows hard beneath it, and knowing she’s excited has my cock aching against my zipper. Her hands slip under the front of my black t-shirt, blasting me with heat as my tongue skates its way up. I circle her ear before the tip barely skims along the skin behind it. “What you do to me, I can’t explain it. I have to show you. Let me fucking show you, Reese, and stop being so damn difficult.” Fingers follow the ripples of my abs like she’s reading goddamn braille, and I’m about to spread her wide on this desk and pleasure her until she can’t even cry out my name because she’ll hardly be able to breath. “Son of a bitch,” I say before I let her go and storm to the door. Pointing back at her, I see that she’s panting, her eyes barely open, skin pink and blotchy. Dammit. “You and me tonight, and I’m getting a taste this time.” I can’t help but scowl as I readjust my raging hard-on in my jeans. I’m impossible. Bullshit. Working with her is what’s damn near impossible.

“I didn’t come here to bring up old wounds.” “Then why are you here?" “Because I fooled myself into thinking I cared…” She stopped herself from saying about you. “I heard about Wheezer and Red Dot. I had to come to see if you were all right. I’m sorry now that I did. I should’ve let you wallow in your self-hatred.” He stared hard at her, enough so she wished she could read what was going on behind those black hypnotic eyes. She wasn’t sure if he wanted to leap the counter and strangle her, or kiss her senseless. Though she preferred the latter, Suzi knew the repercussions of those actions would crush her. Before she could stop him, he vaulted the bar effortlessly and now stood mere inches from her. She could smell Jack Daniel’s on him, that and his intoxicating musk. Her heart nearly leapt from her chest. Kaleb leaned in, his nose brushing the soft skin beneath her right ear, causing a flutter in her lower abdomen. His canines scraped across the delicate flesh, telling her he was a hairsbreadth away from biting her. “I find I’m ravenous.” “Your problem, not mine.” Suzi stiffened her spine, ready for him to do as he desired regardless of her wishes. “I didn’t come here to offer you nourishment.” His right arm snaked around her, keeping her from fleeing. The fingers of his free hand toyed with the glass vial. “You’re a donor. You offer me what I need.” “I can’t stop you from feeding.” “I hear a but in there.” “I’m retired.” Kaleb stood back, releasing Suzi to stare down at her. Then he chuckled. His mirth misplaced given the situation. “I don’t find that funny.” “No?” He raised one black brow. “I find that rich. Suzi Stevens who offered her blood up to any Son who asked.” Her brows drew together. “It’s what a donor does.” “Yes, their blood … but not always do they spread their thighs.” “I am so done here. Go fuck yourself, Hawk.” When she turned to leave, Kaleb gripped her wrist and spun her back into his hold so that her back nestled against the erection he didn’t try to conceal. She knew he might not like it, might even hate the idea, but he desired her. “I told you, I’m hungry,” he whispered. His warm breath passed over the shell of her ear. An ache settled between her thighs. She’d die first. “And I told you I retired myself.” “Then I just un-retired you.” And with that, he sank his fangs into the soft spot just beneath her ear.

“Well?” She drew his gaze upward. “Let’s get this the hell over with.” “You have somewhere else you need to be, piccolo diavolo?” “Maybe I do. But it sure in the hell does not include standing here having a tête-à-tête with you.” And the quicker she got him taking his fill, the sooner she could stop thinking of him in the horizontal with her straddling his lean hips. What the hell were those love handle things anyway that rode just above his jean line? Lord, those made her want to follow the muscle line with her tongue straight to his… Enough! At this rate, she’d never make it out of here unscathed. Remember why you hate him. Kaleb set the two wineglasses on a round table, uncorked the bottle and then poured them each a glass, before handing her one. Suzi quickly shook her head. Too much wine and she’d be promising Kaleb her tomorrows. “None for me. I’m not here to fraternize. Take what you came here for and I’ll be on my way. Don’t make this harder than it has to be, Hawk.” “It’s Kaleb to you.” “You will always be Hawk to me.” She caught a glimpse of his extended fangs as he took a swallow of the deep red wine then licked the remnants from his lips. His prominent brow only enhanced his dangerous look. And he called her little devil? He looked like the beast himself as his obsidian gaze seemed to swallow her whole. “It’s all the same, piccolo diavolo. But when I’m fucking you, I’d prefer you to call me by my given name.” “Well, then … no worries there, Hawk.” Suzi winked at him, then walked over to the end table and grabbed the other glass of wine, downing the contents in one swallow. If she were to endure his company, then she might as well do it with good wine. Tilting her head to the side, she asked, “Shall we?” “You are one cold-hearted bitch.” “It takes a cold heart to know one.”

BOOK SYNOPSIS
I know death very well. I am the product of death. My mother died giving birth to me. I was told that before she went into labor, I was to be a normal birth. Sadly, this was not the case. When the day came, I was two weeks early. My mother and father were rushed to the hospital and the doctors were roused. Everything was running smoothly. Nothing out of the ordinary was happening until I was pulled out of her womb and into the new world. A nurse tended to me as my mother grew still and stopped breathing. I won’t be able to go into much detail about it, because I don’t know. To this day, no one talks about it. I guess they are scared that it will upset me, but to be honest, I can’t say that I feel anything about it. All I know is that after I was born, her heart stopped and I entered the world without a mother. I know that I’m supposed to feel something more about this, but to be honest, I don’t. To me, it is nothing more than a fact. My mother died and I was born. People tell me all the time that they loved my mother. She was a saint, an angel, a savior. She had a multitude of friends that showed up to the funeral. People said that she will be missed, that there is no one else in the world that can replace her. I wish I could have figured that out myself, but I guess that it was just not meant to be.
