LibertyCon: Post Mortem

Take several hundred science fiction fans. Season with pancakes and booze.

And wait.
LibertyCon superseded all of my expectations. I made several (doubtless) lifelong friends, met some incredibly talented people, and collected books and art that are now firmly established in my pantheon of Favorite Things. Unlike Oprah, my faves are affordable, nerdy, and probably will add something to my post-apocalyptic skill set.
Set in lovely Chattanooga, Tennessee, LibertyCon was held at the "Choo-Cho...

Witches, Waffles, and Wonder: Halfway Dead is here!

Just a little note to let you know that my paranormal--sorta--romance--adventure is HERE. Get yours today, I'm incredibly proud of Carlie McEwan and her humor, outlook, and courage.

What is Halfway Dead, you ask? Well, all right then:

Carlie McEwan loves many things. She loves being a witch. She loves her town of Halfway, NY—a tourist destination nestled on the shores of an Adirondack lake. Carlie loves her enormous familiar, Gus, who is twenty-five pounds of judgmental Maine Coon cat, and she p...

Let's Talk About Free Audiobooks.

Do you like books about:

Paranormal? Urban Fantasy? Succubi and Demons? Okay, let's talk. I have a few freebies to give away

Do you like Audiobooks?

If you answered yes to both questions, let's talk. I have a few freebies to give away. I ran a promotion with a service where listeners were given copies of my books in audio form, and unfortunately, it didn't work out.

So, let me know if you enjoy listening and reviewing (to the genres I write within), and I'd love to share several w...

It's a vampire. It's a viking. It's Wulfric.

In the new series, Carlie McEwan is a witch. She will have a romantic interest.

He is a vampire AND a viking. My logic is a as follows:

Vikings are cool; so cool that I married a Norwegian.

Vampires are cool; so cool that I married a Norwegian, who shares the same skin tones.

I think it makes for an unusual romance. Can you imagine the arguments?

"Well, if you hadn't sacked the city, we wouldn't have to drive so far to find decent Chinese food!"

I think you'll love this series.

cheers,
Terry

How To Ruin Outlander: A Primer

Let's talk about the formula for genius.

1) It isn't a formula.

2) Diana Gabaldon's genius rests in her dialogue.

3) Claire and Jamie's relationship is deepened through dialogue.

Another bit of uncomfortable math:

There are thousands of good books. There are few great ones. The distinction between good and great can be a whisper. Removing the brilliance of an author to satisfy a creative arrogance is dangerously irresponsible.

While I'm appreciative of Ron Moore's commitment to Outl...

Paranormal Fantasy: Free 'til Saturday

My first novel, The Forest Bull, is free right now. Grab one, tell a friend or four.

The tagline? "Three lovers. Two demons. One mystery." Hope you love it.

The Forest Bull

Cheers!

I Dun Been Kilted: Where Erections Go To Die

Well, that was unpleasant.

Think of a stranger approaching you  and saying, "In six days, I'm going to hit you with a metaphoric train, but the train will be naked, oiled with lavender, and buggering you. But in a lovingly gross manner."

That's sort of what just happened. Aside from wearing a dress one Halloween (okay, maybe three, and I've never felt prettier), I don't have a great deal of experience with being a feminine object of desire. Jack Randall's obsession with the physical nature...

A Cover Model Made Me Cry: My Workout Story

I decided to get professional help. I've lost a good bit of weight, started lifting again, and was, until today, feeling rather chuffed about it (as the Brits say). I know the reality is different, but in truth---

Last year in one of my classes, I had a student who is a cover model and personal trainer. His name is Fred. He's a nice guy, as long as he isn't making you lift weights until you think you might die.
This is Fred.

So naturally, I booked for the full hour of training, because a ha...

I Dun Been Kilted: A Hole In Juan

So, here we are at the cusp of the gruesome, raw, beautiful end. My wishes are quite simple, but my hopes are-- well, there are reservations.

I am hoping for a Hole in Juan. The Juan of course being that thoroughgoing bastard  of a velveteen demon,  Jonathan Wolverton Randall.

But Black Jack is a slippery wee bastard. I know that there will be need of more than one set o' horns, so to speak.

But dammit if I haven't read, listened to (God bless the golden pipes of Davina...
