...Eden Ashe - The Dragon's Heart Blog Tour...
First off, HUGE shout out to the uber-cute Tera for allowing me to stop by today and takeover her blog. When I sent out a blog tour request, she was the first one to pounce and I love her madly for it.
So… few things about me. 1.Eden Ashe is a pen name. I know you’re thinking duh, but there is a reason behind my madness. First off, and most importantly, I write dark heroes, lots of sex, and lots of dragon-themed violence. I also have teen daughters, teen nieces, and a little niece. The pen name allows me to keep a little bit of distance between what I write, and them. 2.I haven’t always wanted to be a writer. Especially not fantasy romance. When I started writing, it was strictly overwrought contemporary romance. Then, with the encouragement of some online friends, I dove into romantic suspense. I LOVED it, and then I read a Christine Feehan Carpathian book, and my life changed. My slightly over-sized heroes became dragons and I never looked back. 3.I have an online friend who kicks my butt regularly over the internet for stalling out, or making up excuses why I can’t write. Really, I’m the queen of excuses. I know there are authors out there who sit at the computer and write until their fingers fall off, and love doing that daily, but for as much as I love writing, I procrastinate until I can’t procrastinate any longer. It’s my own fault, I have no excuses for it, but if it wasn’t for my buddy, I’d be the laziest writer in the world. 4.I can’t write with the television on. No matter what is playing, or how many times I’ve seen it, I. Will. Get. Distracted. 5.I have PMDD(Premenstrual dysphoric disorder). This may fall under the category of TMI (Too Much Information) but I’ve learned to use it to fuel some of my darker, more tortured characters. Thankfully it is controlled through some meds, but before that, I was an emotional, moody wreck, and my characters suffered for it. 6.If it wasn’t for Lifehouse, Nickleback, Flyleaf, and Within Temptation, I’d never get any writing done. Weirdly (or maybe not, I know a lot of writers use music when writing) each of my characters have a certain band/singer/sound that brings them roaring out. One female character in the Dragon Lore world is a fantasy artist, and the second I play any Flyleaf song, she comes front and center of my brain, and refuses to go away until I work on her. Daniel Ashborne, the hero of The Dragon’s Heart, is all classic rock (which I hate). Micah Dragan, aka one of the biggest pains in my backside there is, is a huge fan of Muse. Not sure why, but it fuels his inner rage. 7.I have seen Pitch Perfect approximately 100 times, and rewatch every episode of Firefly at least twice a year. This has absolutely nothing to do with writing, but it shows how obsessive I can get over things I love. And while I am still learning to motivate myself, and write on a more realistic schedule, I love writing. Everything about it, even the parts that are grueling and frustrating, is amazing to me. Because at the end, looking at something that I have created and can offer the world, is amazing to me. I love that I get to share my characters, my worlds, my dragons, with the world.
So that’s me. Fun, huh? Anyway, enter the giveaway, and don’t forget to thank Tera for being so awesome and allowing me to come play today!

“We’re dragons. We don’t do the mushy friend thing.” - Daniel
The dragon-shifter king will do anything to keep his mate alive…even if it means war.
After millennia as king of the dragon-shifters, Daniel Ashborne wants a little peace and quiet, especially from the beautiful Hollywood starlet who haunts his memories. His escape tactics end abruptly when he is called to the ER to save the one woman he wants to forget, but who now bears his mark.
Shelby Kincade’s life and movie career were nearly destroyed when Daniel vanished a year ago. Now he’s back, claiming they have been accidentally mated. Getting over him once was hard enough, but she must choose either the life of her dreams or the man she can’t live without. With peace finally on the horizon between the dragon-shifters and the Hunters, an assassination attempt on the dragon king and his mate shatters everything. Tensions rebuild as Daniel and his loyal team of shifters try to discover who put out the hit. Enemy and ally lines are crossed, but in the end--after the battle ash has settled--no one could have foreseen who has plotted for their own gain.

A furious Daniel towered over her.Realizing she was in an ambulance, she scooted back on the stretcher, pulling the sheet tighter around herself. Something was very, very off. There was no pain or range of motion issue with her shoulder. There was just a blackness where the last hour should have been. Whatever was wrong with her, it ran core deep, and had everything to do with the man treating her as if she’d caused all the wrongs in his world. She let out a pathetic snort. He had vanished on her, leaving her to face the last year alone. The media wasn’t forgiving at the best of times, and they’d had a field day--field year--with America’s Good Girl falling from grace. A dead body, and the disappearance of the man accused of the crime, was too good of a story for the media not to run around the clock for a month straight. It didn’t make any sense why he hated her. For as much hell as he’d caused her in the last eleven months, professionally and personally, nothing had prepared her for the blast of emotions that rocked her at seeing him standing close to her again. She had no idea what to do with the realization she’d missed him. As soon as she figured out what the hell was going on, she needed deep psychological help.“So.” She was careful to keep her left arm tucked against her stomach as she tried in vain to put more distance between them. It still didn’t hurt, but the thought of ripping the rapidly healing wound open made her queasy. She’d never been a big fan of blood. Her teeth tugged at her bottom lip as she tried not to worry about how much space he took up, even while sitting on the bench. He was huge. “You’re alive.” When he leaned forward, bringing them closer together, she tried to keep her face impassive. Her gaze dropped to the huge forearms he braced against tree trunk-sized thighs, before she snapped her attention back to his face. He was a lunatic who looked to be on the verge of major violence. She wasn’t so confused she didn’t understand the combination was a powder keg with a lit fuse. “I wasn’t sure. The police said you were gone before the ambulance ever got to the hospital.”“Disappointed, princess?”She almost snorted at him. She’d spent the last year hoping he was still alive, and trying not to let the uncertainty drive her out of her mind. “I didn’t get myself shot on purpose, you know. So whatever you’re mad at me about, it’s not my fault. I didn’t ask them to call you.”“Right.” He dragged his gaze from the mark over her heart back to her face. Though she was sure she was imagining it, she could have sworn his eyes lingered on her mouth. “Just like the Hunter showing up in your bedroom was just a weird twist of fate?”“A hunter?” She asked, certain she was missing a huge part of the conversation. “Daniel, my house was in the most exclusive part of Los Angeles. There isn’t anywhere to hunt.”“Ryuu.”She remembered that word from their first date. He’d told her it was an ancient dragon curse because his sister didn’t like him using cuss words. Funny. She’d thought it was sweet at the time. Now she was sure it just made him bat-shit crazy.

...Slip the Skin, Announcement...
Free days were a success for Slip the Skin, which made it to #1 in the Werewolves & Shifters Romance, and Fantasy & Futuristic Romance categories on Amazon's free best sellers list. Thank you guys for downloading and giving this series a chance!
Reviews are starting to trickle in, and I'm floored by all of the honest thoughts of you awesome readers! You probably don't even realize this, but you are shaping the series :)
I was undecided on whether or not to do a third. Oh, I have the story in my head, and it's one I think you guys will appreciate, because as you know, Episode Two kind of leaves our werewolves with a lot of work to do. But if Slip the Skin wasn't garnering enough attention, I was sorely tempted to continue on the novel I'm right in the middle of writing. BUT leaving Linden, Graham, Tristan, and Meredith with all of that chaos to deal with on their own would've eaten at me for years to come.
So, yes. There will be a book three and it will be released soon. It already has a cover! Which I will reveal when I get closer to finished on Episode Three of the Slip the Skin series. I will continue to offer the first two books as a package for $0.99 because I adore you guys!
So, I'll leave you with this little tidbit about Episode Three before I sign off:

...Behind the Scenes of the Lyrical Press/Kensington Publishing Transition...
Hi all!
So you may have heard some (awesome) rumors about Lyrical Press being acquired as an imprint of Kensington Publishing (yes, THAT Kensington:) and I figured I'd let you guys know what has been going on behind the scenes. I've waited to address this because i'm twitchy about contracts. Always have been, always will be, and for me, it's not a done deal until I sign on the dotted line.
Our fearless leader, Renee Rocco, has been hinting at a massive, and exciting change for months and months. We authors hadn't a guess at what it could be. I mean, Lyrical already does print on demand books, which means our full length novels were already available in paperback (which is huge as an author!), and I admit, I wasn't very creative in my imaginings of what the mysterious hints could mean. Paperback books were as far as I got, haha.
The day the press release went live, Renee sent us THE EMAIL. And it was awesome and completely unexpected. She'd successfully sat on the surprise of all surprises. She'd been meeting for months with Kensington and they'd decided to make Lyrical one of their imprints. I mean, collectively, the authors were likely bouncing up and down in their desk chairs, squealing in unison as we read over the awesome news. It means so many great things for our books! We'll now have a marketing team behind us as well as several other changes for the better.
Behind the scenes has been chaos, but not as much for the authors as for Renee, who has been working day and night to get contracts out to every author interested in moving forward with Kensington Publishing, creating new artwork for some of the covers, updating the formatting of all of the books to that of Kensington's, getting the books to Kensington as quickly as possible for re-release, and all while fielding one hundred billion questions from us authors.
Lyrical books were pulled from the market as our contracts expired with them the day they merged with Kensington, and they are just now at the point where the new Kensington contracts are signed and they can re-release under the new imprint.
So while all of this transition has been occurring, new releases continue to march on. It's a crazy time for us at Lyrical right now, but it will be so worth it.
I signed five of my books to the new Kensington Publishing contracts this week and I can't wait to see what the future holds for these stories and for the future of Lyrical!

...Valentine's Day Gift Hop...
Hello lovely hoppers! Welcome to the Valentine's Day Gift Hop where I'm sharing my favorite Valentine's Day memory.
My husband and I met when we were baby eighteen year olds, the first day of college classes, so we've done this Valentine's Day thing a few times. But two years ago was really special in a really unexpected way. We'd just been given one day notice to sign over our house to a buyer with a contract who was interested. So we had one day to move out of state, tie up loose ends, figure out where we were going to live, pack the U-Haul...you get the idea. Complete and utter chaos. But we did it! We drove straight through to Texas, an eight hour drive, starting at 4 after an evening of frantically throwing everything into the back of a U-Haul. And after we'd unloaded all of our belongings in a storage shed back in Texas, we drove straight back to Kansas to finish signing the documents for closing on our house.
All of this happened right before Valentine's Day, and the place we'd found for me and our two young children to live was in Texas, while my husband hadn't yet found a job in our new home state yet. So we had to split up. We lived in two states while he searched frantically for a job, any job, that would put our family back together again. It took a while, and when Valentine's Day came, I was so bummed. I was already having a really hard time without my partner in crime, my dude, my teammate, my best friend and now I was spending V-Day without him for the first time since we'd been dating.
So February 14th came, and I was standing in the kitchen with the fridge door open, gathering supplies for lunch for my kiddos, and when I closed the door, my husband was standing there. My daughter and I had already received flowers from him, delivered that morning, so I thought my day was over. And there he stood with a big old beautiful grin on his face.
He'd driven eight hours and could only stay one night before he had to be back, but it was one of my favorite moments. He took me and the kids on a movie and dinner date and oh, I couldn't stop holding the man's hand. It was just so good to see him again. (and you better believe this mushpot bawled her eyes out when he surprise showed up;)
What was your favorite Valentine's day moment? Comment below to be entered in the grand prize drawing!
One winner on this blog will win a signed copy of Love in the Time of the Dead, and another will win an E-Book of the newly released paranormal romance novella, Slip the Skin.

...Sneak Peak Sunday...
Sneak Peek Sunday is here again and oh have I got a treaty for you! Slip the Skin, a paranormal romance novella, has released to amazon for $0.99 this week! Hooraaaaay, confetti, sexywerewolves, romance, swiss cake rolls! So in honor of it's release, I'm sharing a six paragraph sneak peek of it.
**************
“That man was delicious,” Meredith said into Linden’s ear over the blaring music in the limo. “Why the hell didn’t you bring him along?”Why hadn’t she? Because he knew she was sick and pitied her, that’s why. When she’d come back to reality, there he’d been, a real life, sexy suited knight in shining Armani, and he’d witnessed her painting her danged toes in public like a lunatic. Nope. Sympathetic looks all night weren’t what she had in mind. She needed a lover who was oblivious to how broken she was. Meredith didn’t have to know that, though.“He wasn’t my type.”Meredith’s green eyes were the size of flying saucers. “Your type isn’t gorgeous?”So she had a point. Graham Hayes had destroyed the human mold and slid right into demigod territory. His dark brown hair was cropped short and his chiseled jaw housed two perfect dimples under radiant sky blue eyes. Even the slight lines etched into his perfectly masculine face said he smiled a lot, and the way his muscles worked against his suit revealed he was every bit as fit as his V-shaped jacket suggested. And he was tall. Not lanky, but built like an unwavering redwood. Though he’d been self-deprecating about his occupation, she’d watched The Bodyguard so many times, she’d finally given in and bought the danged movie a few years back. He was exactly her type.
If she weren’t dying.

Linden will face them all for a second chance at time.Graham Hayes is at the tail end of a long shift as a bodyguard when he encounters a mysterious woman in red. Intrigued, the wolf inside can’t help but notice something is wrong with her, but the human in him doesn’t care. ...Character Interview for Coming To Reason...
Today, we have Carrie Hanson to discuss the book Coming to Reason.
Tera: It’s so nice to have you here.Carrie: Oh, the pleasure is all mine. Your place is so peaceful and calm. My world is anything but.Tera: So matters are not going well?
Carrie: *sighs* Trent decided he needs to run his business without me and instead of letting me know in advance, he surprised me with the news on Sunday morning. He even had his driver, Sam, confiscate my laptop instead of asking for it.Tera: I’m sorry, but honestly, you can do so much better.Carrie: Oh, we aren’t breaking up. We’re just going to work at different places like normal people. But I can see how you jumped to such a conclusion. When I learned Trent had Sam sneak into my house and take my laptop, I immediately feared Trent had broken up with me and forgotten to mention it.Tera: Why didn’t he just explain his wish up front, so you could start looking for another job?Carrie: And, more importantly, hire and train his new EA. Turns out Trent hired the girl behind my back.Tera: Why?Carrie: Even after all this time, Trent still doesn’t believe anyone can love him. In the past when he tried to part women from his money, they’ve gone crazy on him. He thought my love for his company equaled their love of his money. He hoped it was him I loved most, but he wasn’t sure. Once I understood the insecurity that drove him to his bad behavior, I forgave him and set about finding a new job. Tera: How’s that going?Carrie: I arrived in New York City early Monday morning and had two jobs an hour later. Tera: Two?Carrie: Yes, Dan Marshal, the best headhunter in the city, asked me to help him discover the bad apples on his staff. To do that, I’m being trained as a research consultant by an excellent fellow named Jeff. And once I discover his consultant problems, then Dan wants me to be his change specialist.Tera: Well done! Sounds like you landed on your feet.Carrie: I thought so, until Trent called, claiming he’d found me a job. Tera: What was it? Carrie: A job as a secretary at a warehouse in a high crime area that would require four hours commuting—at least until someone stabbed me. When I told him about my job with Dan Marshal, he went ballistic, insisting Dan would make me sleep with clients. I assured him that was not the case. Then he said something really hurtful.Tera: What? Carrie: *pauses and looks away* He said my credentials were weak, and I didn’t warrant more than a secretarial job at a warehouse.Tera: That was unnecessarily cruel and clearly not true. Dan’s job sounds a much better fit for you.Carrie: *smiles* Yes. I expect to be a great help to Dan, or will once I fix up my tiny closet of an office. I’m going to work on it this weekend. Dan and his daughter, Destiny, want to help me. I’ve never had people want to help me before. So this is a new experience for me.Tera: Sounds like a positive new experience. What does Dan look like?
Carrie: He’s 5'8" whis is shorter than Trent, but he still towers over me. He has the kindest eyes. Here's a picture Liza painted of him.Tera: He seems worried.Carrie: He is. He’s got one or more people stealing from him. But don’t worry. I’ll find out who it is.Tera: Well, I wish you luck. Dan sounds like a nice person.Carrie: He is. He has this soothing effect. When he rests his hand on my back, all my stress disappears. Well, I best return to my job. Thank you for inviting me.Tera: Come back any time. Here's more about Coming to Reason:

ExcerptMonday morning, Carrie stood outside Dan Marshal’s resource firm wearing her best blue suit. She’d arrived early, knowing Dan kept to a tight schedule. She smiled as his car pulled to the curb.Dan let himself out of the limo, something Trent still wouldn’t do, and headed to the office door. His brow furrowed until his gaze settled on her, then his face brightened.“Carrie! What a pleasant surprise.” He took in her suit and hair tied back in a bow. Leaning down, he kissed both her cheeks in greeting. While Dan didn’t possess Trent’s height, at five-eight, he still towered over her. “Are you by chance wishing to speak to me?”She rewarded him with smile. “If you have time.”He glanced at his watch and the furrows in his brow returned. “Fifteen minutes, before a meeting I’ve called. If you need more time, hopefully, you can wait an hour for the meeting to be finished.”“More than fair since I didn’t make an appointment.”His head tilted as he studied her. “Which is unlike you.”“True, but I didn’t know I needed a job until yesterday, when Trent decided the time had come for him to grow up and run his own company.”Dan led her to the elevator, his hand rested on her back. “Really?” His tone turned happy upon discovering her state of unemployment, but she let it slide.“Evidently, he made the decision a while back, but didn’t bother to share it with me until yesterday.”Dan’s smile grew more pronounced, borderline celebratory.Once they entered the elevator and the doors closed, she wrinkled her nose at him. “Well, I’m glad my unemployment makes you happy. I expected a stern lecture after the last time I asked you to get me an interview.”His smile disappeared. “Good point. Is this a real job you want, or are you trying to get rid of one of Trent’s groupies?”She laughed. “Trent doesn’t have groupies. And this is a real job I want. We’ve decided to become a normal couple with daily time off from each other. Otherwise, Trent will continue to rely on me too much.”
