My Apologies
A letter to my readers, bloggers, and promotion companies:
There are never any guarantees, especially when it comes to working with modern technology. I had a sale scheduled for today, June 29, for my book Pieces of Me, with the sale price of $0.99. It is available at this price on the Amazon UK site, however, it is not showing for the Amazon US site. I have contacted Amazon, and am waiting to hear back regarding this issue.
I immensely apologize to those my assistant contacted to promote this sale. I know this is a bad reflection, and I hope you can forgive this unfortunate event.
As an author, and a assistant, there is only so much we can do, and so much of this is out of our hands. I truly appreciate you taking the time to accept my promotion, and I hope this will not leave a bad taste in your mouth.
Thank you for your time and understanding.

Authors Raising Mental Health Awareness
Hello,
This month blogger Paige Boggs and I will be holding an event on Facebook to help raise awareness for Mental Health. If you can’t make it, that’s okay. I will be sharing valuable information for those who would like to learn more about mental health. https://www.facebook.com/events/34860...
Mental health is so incredibly important. My hope for this event is to spread awareness to more people so they understand mental illnesses. It is very important, and sadly, over the years I have spoken to so many people regarding illnesses and found that so many think mental illness isn’t real. They believe it’s all in the person’s mind. This is definitely not the case.
Did you know…
In 2012, there were an estimated 9.6 million adults aged 18 or older in the U.S. with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) in the past year.
Some interesting stats regarding mood disorders… Approximately 20.9 million American adults, or about 9.5 percent of the U.S. population age 18 and older in a given year, have a mood disorder. The median age of onset for mood disorders is 30 years. Depressive disorders often co-occur with anxiety disorders and substance abuse.
Awareness for mental health is slowly becoming important, but it needs to be treated as physical heath. Both come hand in hand and both are crucial.
I remember in 1999, there was a school shooting in Columbine, CO. I’m fairly certain you all have heard or remember the event. Of course, this was not the first school shooting at all. When I read about it and the incredible book by Dave Cullen, I learned so much about the two boys who were responsible for the tragedy. Both had a severe mental illness, and both parents did nothing to rectify their situations. Had their parents paid more attention to their sons, perhaps this tragedy could’ve been avoided. Of course, there is NO way to know for sure. This event really got to me, because I could have been a victim of a shooting or even a mental illness. My heart will always be with those who are lost and those who lost their lives.
This is one of the reasons I wish to raise awareness for mental health. To learn more about teen depression, please visit this site.http://www.nimh.nih.gov/…/depression-in-childre…/index.shtml
Please stay tuned as I will be posting more about mental health awareness.
Thank you,

***Cover Reveal***
Hey everyone!
I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything (that seems to be my go-to sentence every time I post something now). It’s been a crazy month, and at the suggestion of my assistant and my fiance, I had to put my novel aside and clear my head. I had a bout of writer’s block – which I normally don’t get, but I think I was pressuring myself too much to finish the book. I feel that taking my time and providing my readers a quality book rather than rush and release it is important. You deserve the best, and I intend to bring you the best that I can write.
On that note, I have big news! Here’s the new cover for Under an Onyx Sky Book 4 in the Elemental Enchanters Series!
What do you think? I love it and I’m so excited for the book! I have it set to release Summer 2015. I’m almost ready to send the book to my betas and editors.
Hopefully the worst of all the winter storms are over, and we can enjoy the outdoors again. Sometimes I like to take my notepad or laptop outside and write. It gives me inspiration – as does music. What gives you inspiration for whatever you do?
Well, it’s time for me to return to the writing! Thanks for being fans – I really appreciate you! :)
Happy writing!

It Tastes Like Burning!
Hello!
I’ve come out of my writing cave for a bit so I can say hi to everyone! I’m hard at work on the fourth and final book in my Elemental Enchanters Series. So far, it’s coming along nicely. There’s still so much I have to write. But I must say, you will be surprised. I really hope you enjoy it. You’ll get to learn more about some characters, and you might actually change your opinion of some. :) It has a lot of action and emotion. I love it! Though, part of me is sad that this series is coming to an end. It’s been a fun ride. I do have another series in the works after this one. It’s completely different and unique. I can’t wait to share that with you.
Some exciting news to share! Pieces of Me is now available on Barnes & Noble, iTunes, Scribd, and Page Foundry! Woohoo! Links are on the Pieces of Me main page.
Stay tuned for more upcoming news in the next few weeks!
Happy writing!

***Release Day – Under the Winter Sun***
Hello!
I’m happy to announce that Under the Winter Sun is now available on Amazon.com in ebook and paperback format! This is the third book in my Elemental Enchanters Series. Thanks to all who supported me! And thank you to all my lovely readers!
Ava never knew the extent of torture.
When the previous battle leaves all of the Enchanters powerless and broken, Ava distances herself from everyone. Her closest friends have been kidnapped and she feels useless. All she can feel from Peter is guilt because he could not protect the coven so Ava learns to hide her emotions in order to keep her thoughts at bay. It’s taking more time than she expected for her strength and powers to return and she sinks deeper into a depression.
Once Ava and her coven gain their powers back they start their journey to Caprington to defeat Havok and save their friends. She must choose her allegiance or risk losing everyone she loves.

Woohoo!
Hello!
I just wanted to share that I’m finished editing Under the Winter Sun! I’m so excited for the release. Because of the editing too longer than I expected, I wasn’t able to finish my NaNo project, hence the delay in writing a blog post. But now I’m going to work on Book 4 in the series and enjoy the rest of the year.
How many of you completed NaNo? Even if you didn’t, it’s all good. Just as long as you write, that’s all that matters!
I also wanted to give a shout out to my editors, beta team, and my assistant, Paige. They helped me through the editing process and I’m so grateful for them!! I’m so lucky to have an amazing team and would be lost without them!
On that note, I’m going to enjoy the rest of my Saturday.
Happy writing!

Words, words, and More Words
Greetings!
How is everyone on this fabulous Monday? I’m doing well. I did quite a bit of writing over the weekend, which is good and I’m coming up with more ideas for the last book in my series. So far, I’m at 5,499 words, but I haven’t typed all the rest of what I wrote. Yes, I hand write a lot of my novels because sometimes it’s easier for me to think and for the words to flow. Depends on my mood though. I read an interesting article this morning regarding NaNoWriMo that I found to be useful for those who don’t know what it’s all about. Basically, anyone can participate and you attempt to write 50k words in 30 days. But so many authors get the wrong idea of it. You don’t by any means, HAVE to write 50k words. You don’t have to slave at your computer day in and day out. The beauty of the whole event is to get people to write. Sure, you may not write the great masterpiece, but who knows. Maybe you will. Tons of writers actually write some of their best work under pressure. So far, I’ve written 2 novels that started in NaNo. I first wrote Under the Burning Stars as one. When I wrote it, it was just a series of scenes. No transitions, no real chronological order. It was a jumbled mess, but after I wrote it, I revised it and turned it into the novel that it is today. If you want to read the article, go here. It debunked a lot of myths about the event.
Anyway, I plan to write a post every day (or try to) as I journey my way through NaNo this month as I write book 4. I hope you won’t be disappointed with it, but I promise my fans lots of action and some romance, among other things.
Time to get back to it! Too bad blog posts don’t count toward the word count. haha.
Happy writing!
Carrigan
