Writing Prompt Mondays: Prompt 8
What a week it’s been! I was so excited to announce Death Sets Sail‘s cover and title – and I loved reading your responses to my fanfiction prompt. As I’m trying my hardest not to give you any hints or spoilers, I’m not going to be sharing my favourites here – but know that I thought they were all wonderful, and it’s clear that you care about my characters as much as I do!… Read more

The time has come, Detectives! I’m thrilled and delighted to reveal that MMU9’s title is …

This cover, as always, is illustrated by Nina Tara, who has created the iconic art for all of Daisy and Hazel’s adventures. It’s been a privilege to work with her over the last six years – the books wouldn’t be the same without her!… Read more

MMU9 cover and title reveal … your clue!
Hello Detectives! Good new: I’m going to be revealing MMU9’s cover AND title on Thursday at 3pm. But because I know you love puzzles, my publisher Puffin has come up with a very clever clue for you to solve this afternoon.

Writing Prompt Mondays: Prompt 7
Thank you for another wonderful response to last week’s prompt! Your stories made me laugh and scared me silly – I particularly loved Polly’s polite haunting victim, Aglae’s rules for being a ghost, Tilly’s terrifying time-slip ghost story and Charlotte’s spooky bookish ghost story.
It’s a new month, Detectives – and that means we’re closer than ever to the release of Murder Most Unladylike 9.… Read more

Writing Prompt Mondays: Prompt 6
We’re into Week 6! Time may not have flown exactly (I feel like this has gone on for ever), but I hope these prompts are helping it pass as enjoyably as possible. Talking of time, your responses to week 5’s time travel prompts were excellent. I particularly loved Evie’s book travelling interpretation of the prompt, Zoe’s use of a song to inspire her Pompeii time travel story, Katie’s elemental time travel story and Inaya’s piano time machine.… Read more

Writing Prompt Mondays: Prompt 5
It’s Week 5! As always, your responses to Week 4’s prompt were fabulous. Everything from Sylvia Plath to Hogwarts to Taylor Swift – that’s the best thing about fiction, it’s as unique as the people writing it! I particularly loved Annie’s serial killer take on La Belle Dame Sans Merci, and Inaya’s beautiful story inspired by The New Colossus.… Read more

Writing Prompt Mondays: Prompt 4
Welcome to Week 4 of my writing prompts, Detectives! Again, thank you so much for your amazing, enthusiastic responses to Week 3. I love seeing how creative you’re being with these prompts! Lydia’s lyrical entry from the perspective of an actress arriving in LA, Lilla’s hilarious diary of a mint plant and Xydel’s very smart diary of Alexa caught my eye this week, but it was so hard to choose – everyone who submitted entries should feel so proud of themselves.… Read more
