Review Blitz: The Wilde One by Savannah Young

The Wilde One Review Blitz Review Blitz the wilde one Book Title: The Wilde One Author: Savannah Young Genre: Contemporary Romance Release Date: April 8, 2014 Hosted by: Book Enthusiast Promotions Synopsis

THE WILDE ONE is the second novel in the spicy contemporary romance series about four sexy brothers, their small-town bar and their local country band. Each novel in the OLD TOWN COUNTRY ROMANCE series can be read as a STAND ALONE NOVEL or as part of the SERIES.

FOUR WILDE BROTHERS…ONE WILDE COUNTRY BAND

Tucker Wilde joined the United States Army right out of high school and was injured in Iraq. But more than just his leg was shattered in the Middle East. The war also crushed his spirit and damaged his soul. When a strange couple arrives at his family’s bar, Haymakers, Tucker can see signs of mental and emotional abuse and is immediately drawn to the lovely but fragile girl seated at his bar.

Gracie Parker has been a victim of abuse her entire life. When her boyfriend, Dex, beats her in the parking lot of Haymakers and abandons her, it’s almost too much for the nineteen-year-old to bear. That is until Tucker appears like a warrior knight from the darkness to save her.

Tucker and Gracie are two broken people who are immediately drawn together. But their relationship and even their very lives are threatened by Dex who will stop at nothing to get Gracie back.

If you like your trucks loud, your beer cold and your men hot…you’ll love THE WILDE ONE. excerpt

One
Tucker
“You look different,” Savage says, then downs the last of his pint of ale.
“Different how?” I prod even though I have an idea what he’s going to say. I look more normal. Like I fit into society rather than looking like an outcast.
Savage shrugs. He’s never been a person of many words. We’re like two peas in a pod that way. Even though he rarely says very much, with just one sideways glance Savage can have the biggest and meanest guys on the planet shaking in their cowboy boots.
People say that about me too.
“Do you want another?” I ask, even though I can guess his response. Savage always orders two pints and drinks them at the far corner of the bar. There are worse ways of coping with the past than drinking a few beers every night before he goes home to an empty apartment. I should know. I’m a master of poor coping skills.
“Hit me,” Savage says.
I pour him another pint and take away the empty.
“You look good.”
I’m surprised by the compliment. I’d never use the word good to describe anything about me. But I do look better than I have since I got back from Iraq.
“Drink your beer,” I tell him because I’m not in the mood to explain what’s been going on in my life.
Savage was in Iraq about the same time I was and he’s the closest thing I’ve got to a friend. I’m not one for relationships. Life is too short and relationships are too painful. When you get close to someone, you usually just end up getting hurt.
But like me, Savage isn’t the type of guy who gets too close to people. The most obvious reason is the way he looks: he’s big and scary. Also just like me.
Savage and I lift weights together, and in a fight it would be a close match. Not that either of us would ever start a fight but we would definitely end one if we had to.
It’s a weeknight and the bar is almost deserted except for a few of the regulars. That’s why I’m surprised when I see a couple I don’t recognize walk in and look around. The guy’s wearing all leather and carrying two helmets, so he’s obviously a biker. He looks about my height, six feet two inches and he’s big. The girl looks tiny standing next to him. She’s the definition of the word waif. She looks like a strong wind could pick her up and blow her away. Not a good thing in Old Town where it’s windy most of the time.
The most interesting thing about her, though, is her coloring. I’ve never seen someone so fair in my life. I’m the only blond in my family but I’m not even close to this girl. Her long hair is so light it’s practically white. And her skin is the color of milk. She looks like a princess who just stepped out of a fairytale, as corny as that sounds.
I can’t help but notice that she doesn’t look like she wants to be here. Or maybe she doesn’t want to be with the guy. It’s hard to tell. But she doesn’t look happy. If anything, she looks scared.
As the couple steps closer to the bar, I can see the girl is shaking. I’m not sure whether she’s shaking because she’s scared, or because it’s January and it’s freezing outside and she’s wearing a tiny spring jacket that barely fits. It almost looks like a jacket for a kid it’s so small on her. Not that she’s much bigger than a kid herself.
What kind of an asshole wears a thick leather jacket while he lets his girl freeze? I’m really not liking this guy at all. And when I see him grab her by the elbow, so roughly she almost comes off the floor, I can feel every hair on my body stand at attention.
Is it possible to hate a guy I don’t even know? Meet the Author

Petty School Politics

This blog is in reference to THIS article. If the school did their job right, everyone would be aware of the meaning of this ‘coded’ message because every pupil would know the periodic table from back to front.Yeah, I’m guessing that’s not the case.Considering very few will even know what the hell it means, let’s give the girl some credit for being inventive! Christ knows, imagination is running in short supply! As is, apparently, a sense of humour. Grr.

Sales Blitz: Midnight by Elizabeth Miller

Midnight sale blitz sales blitz.1 Midnight.99 Book Title: Midnight Author: Elizabeth Miller Genre: Adult Contemporary Release Date: March 5, 2014Hosted by: Book Enthusiast Promotions Synopsis

There are many defining moments in life. I’ve had my fair share. One thing is certain, none of them compare to the life altering instant his piercing eyes capture mine. In one second life as I know it is over and the next chapter begins…

One second. It alters journalist, Charlise “Charlie” Carter’s course. When asked to work on a Republican candidate’s campaign, she’s unprepared for the intense reaction she has toward the young, handsome presidential hopeful, Colin McKenna.

Unable to resist Charlie’s allure, McKenna succumbs to his desire and they find themselves exploring a passionate, physical relationship that is soon tested by not only their own secrets, but his political advisers.

Traveling the country in pursuit of the presidential nomination, his career aspirations and complications from the past collide with their desire to be together, threatening to tear them apart forever. Midnight tells a compelling story of burgeoning trust, intense passion and secrets that could cause it all to unravel in a heartbeat.

Midnight is an adult contemporary romance, due to strong language and sexual content this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18. Meet the Author

I’m a long time book junkie, reading for as long as I can remember. When I was young, my parents would take away my book as punishment for breaking the rules. Grounding didn’t hurt so much, but taking away my book was torture! I work for a Healthcare system, in Human Resources as a Labor Relations Rep. Always an interesting day in this field! I’m married to a wonderful and very sarcastic husband. We have two boys, 3 & 5, and two kitties, living in Rochester, MI.

I graduated with an English Literature degree and always dreamed of writing, but life took over for a while and the passion was lost for a few years. After falling for so many book boyfriends I decided to put my fantasy in print and began writing Midnight in 2013 - a dream come true when I published earlier this year.

If I’m not writing, I’m reading or painting abstracts or playing Wii with my boys. My other favorites are Halloween, Henry Cavill and BBQing with friends.

I’d love to hear from you, please feel free to contact via any social media site listed below. excerpt
“Hands above your head,” I command darkly. His eyes round, but he complies. Tying his wrists first together and then to the headboard, I try to hold back my smile. My breasts brush lightly against his face as I work, his nose skimming my cleavage as I finish securing him to the post. “There,” I sit back to enjoy my handy work, he’s so beyond sexy splayed out before me. “Now you’re mine to do with what I want and I want you,” I lean in to brush my lips against his, “naked,” one more light kiss, “hard,” I graze my lips and teeth along his cheek and neck, “in my mouth,” his breath comes out in a rush, “and deep inside me.” My lips hover over his and he groans, lifting his head to capture my mouth, but I move away quickly before he makes contact. Lifting my finger to the soft press of his lips I shush him, his tongue touching the tip of my finger, teeth nipping it. His need mirrors my own, but we have just begun.
“Don’t move.” I have never seen his eyes quite like they are at this moment, a searing, blazing inferno. I’m sitting on his burgeoning erection and his eyes close when my hips grind into him, loving the hard bulge pressing against my sex. I’m so hungry for all things Colin I can barely contain my own need.
“Look at me,” I whisper, when he does I continue. “You make me feel sexy, like anything I do makes you want me, makes you hard,” his erection twitches under me, confirming the truth to the statement and I smile, comforted by the response of his body. Reaching up I caress his cheek and he leans into me, nuzzling while his eyes darken even deeper.
“Untie me Charlie,” his voice is gruff and I can hear the need hang heavily in the room. “I’ll show you how fucking sexy you are.” Social Links FB button FINAL twitter button Final GoodreadsFINAL Goodreads Button with Shadow Buy the Book Midnight.sale Amazon Final Amazon UK Final Giveaway  a Rafflecopter giveaway promotionsbutton with TRIM

I’m not a bad person.
I vote, I pay my taxes on time, and I make funny faces at babies in the supermarket to make them laugh. I tear up at those awful animal cruelty commercials Sarah McLaughlin is always singing on, and I shower on a regular basis. I donate to charities even though I’m still juggling monthly student loan and car payments on top of my rent and grocery expenses. I stay out of the drama at work because work is hard enough to get through without wondering which of my catty coworkers is going to stab me in the back with a knife clutched in her perfectly manicured fingers. I don’t smoke or drink excessively – fine, I admit, occasionally I may indulge in a few too many glasses of merlot, but nobody’s perfect – and I force myself to go running in Central Park at least three times a week. By anyone’s standards, I’m normal. A girl with her act together. Some might even call me “nice” and, for the most part, they’d be right.
I’m not a bad person.
I’m just not a particularly good one either.
To be fair, you can’t ever really consider yourself a good person when you’ve been singlehandedly responsible for the utter destruction of another person’s happiness. And that’s really the only term you can use to describe what I did to Sebastian Covington all those years ago – I destroyed him. I watched unflinchingly as the life and love drained out of his eyes, and walked away without a backward glance.
It’s kind of funny how a decision you make when you’re eighteen can change your whole life forever. And by funny I mostly mean absolutely fucking terrible. When I broke off our relationship, I knew I was hurting him worse than he’d ever been hurt. Harder, though, was the knowledge that I was putting myself through unimaginable pain from which I would never recover.
I still remember that evening so clearly; I don’t think I’ll ever forget it. Two eighteen year old kids, standing at our spot by the old oak behind his house. The hot summer sun was setting and a slight breeze chilled the air as we stood a few paces apart staring at one another. Bash could read me better than anyone – even before I’d spoken, I think he knew what was coming. His eyes had changed, an unfamiliar wariness filling them as soon as my lips parted.
I’d taken a deep breath and forced myself to say the words that would tear us apart forever. And when I’d turned my back and walked away, haunted by the look of betrayal and incomprehension in his eyes, I’d known we’d never speak again. The damage I’d inflicted with my words had cut too deep to ever really heal. I didn’t let myself cry then – that would come later, when I was alone in my bedroom and could finally allow the dull ache of my shattered heart to spread through my system like a lethal paralytic.
I’d known then, at eighteen, that my case of heartbreak was terminal, incurable. It wasn’t “puppy love” or “first love” or any of the loves that supposedly fade with time and large quantities of ice cream. Because when you walk away from your soul mate – when you take real, true love and throw it in the fire and watch as it burns down to ashes – you know you’ll never be the same again. The heart isn’t like the liver; it doesn’t regenerate, no matter how much time passes. Once it’s gone, it’s gone for good.
I’d left mine with Sebastian when I walked away that day, and I hadn’t seen it in the seven years since. Meet the Author   Julie Johnson is a twenty-two year old Boston native.
