Happy Festive Friday!

1. Y’all, time is flying. I can’t believe that Christmastime has arrived.

Christmas-Time-2013

You know what that means…I’m gonna have to shop. Oy vey. Me and shopping don’t mix. And this time I’ve got to get it done ASAP as everything is shipping overseas. It’s going to be madness this weekend!

2. Last weekend I went to see PvD. It was awesome, y’all.

I took LH and one of my girlfriends, and we had a blast. It was the first time that either of them had been to anything like this, but I started going to raves in hig...

A wintery Friday…

1. Tomorrow night I’m going to go see Paul van Dyk.

Y’all, I’m super freaking excited. I haven’t been dancing in forever. FOOOOREEEEVEEEER. It’s been years since I’ve seen a good DJ perform. I’ve been downloading mixes from live events, but not actually being there is a bummer. So, I’m more than ready to get my dancing-on! Can’t wait. Like seriously. Can’t wait!

2. Saying goodbye is hard. Forever goodbyes, when someone dies, are much harder. But the see-you-when-I-see-you kind are also hard. Wh...

Happy Black Friday!

1243-20121126-BlackFriday

1. Happy Thanksgiving! Oh, and Happy Black Friday! It’s weird being in the UK for Thanksgiving. It’s such a big American holiday, but I was never really all about it. Still, it’s a time when families get together, and for people who get along with their families, that’s not such a bad thing. I get along with mine, and even though I’m not a big Thanksgiving lover, I definitely am missing them. That said, we’re doing our Thanksgiving on Sunday. We’ve invited all the Americans from my husband’s...

What? It’s Friday?

1. I totally thought today was Saturday. Like for reals. I got up, thinking it was Saturday. Started writing and everything, fully feeling like today was Saturday. It’s not, y’all. Today is totally Friday.

I only realized this when a friend checked in about our plans asking if we were still on for tomorrow. I was like, I thought that was tonight? I can’t do tomorrow! We had a little bit of a confusing back and forth before it clicked. I still didn’t fully believe it was Friday until I checked...

Five Ways to Beat the Block

The past few weeks have been slow in terms of writing for me. I usually write anywhere from 2-5K words/day. For weeks now it’s been more like 200 words/day. Finally, I’m back to my old writing self. (Woohoo!) I can tell you first hand that nothing can be more frustrating than a good ole case of writer’s block. So, I thought I’d talk about my top five ways of breaking them.

1. Exercise. Any kind. Be it a walk in the park, a few miles on the elliptical, or 1.5 hours of power yoga. Getting the b...
