November and All That Jazz
November, what a dreadful month. People rush to get 50k
words in (me too) and still try to be socially cognizant (I have a family?) and
then there’s the over eating and the Christmas music….
As a person with an anxiety disorder, the Holidays are…. Trying.
But I do my best to keep to a schedule so that I have a sea of calm (inside my
computer) where I can escape from the hectic-ness that is

I tried to do NaNo again... and failed.
I'm not actually upset about this.
Maybe I should be, but NaNo has always been a tool I've attempted to use to help with the end-of-the-year writing slump.
And it did that (I'll have November's counts up tomorrow), but getting 50k words into a single piece of work... this late in the year. It's a bit beyond difficult.
The image above shows you just how little I wound up getting in. Most

October's Wrap-up
A month of merriment, candy, and costumed children. And now it's over and we all turn our thoughts to the count down to Turkey - or we start tapping out words because it's NaNoWriMo!
Anyway, let's talk about last month....
Words Written: 34,647
31,717 of those were new words, the other 2,930 were in revision additions. And most of the words went into one or another of the upcoming Flynn

October Ghoul Fest: Zombies
Every Friday this month is dedicated to the Ghoulish aspect
of literature. I’m going to talk specifically about the monsters that haunt
pages and share my thoughts on the creatures that have captured the curious and
often terrified corners of our minds.
Happy Halloween!
Rounding out this year’s series with Zombies seemed like the
perfect fit. Our current culture is obsessed with them and
of literature. I’m going to talk specifically about the monsters that haunt

Halloween Movies
We had a plan to watch 31 “Halloween movies” in October. I’m
not certain we’re going to get through them all, but, from the stacks below
(Cabin in the woods was also included – but streaming), these are my five
favorites.
This is not an ordered list.

Henry Rollins in pink sweat pants, Jason Mewes plays
himself, and the “Hero” isn’t much help. That might be all you need to know

The Dresden Files #1
My Summary
As a Private Detective, Harry Dresden’s life is not that
glamorous, as a wizard, it’s less so. When the Chicago PD brings him in on a
case that stinks of magic, Dresden has to tip toe down a wobbily line of what
the powers that be will let him tell the detective who’s called him in and what
he can get away with
