Another Draft Bites the Dust
Wednesday I completed another first draft. Yay! This one for the second novella in my Flynn Monroe series.
It
is the least “western” of the space westerns in this series, but I’m
more than okay with that. When I plotted out the series – I’ll talk
about that in another post – I knew that the novellas after Enemies
would be a little different. They involve people in Flynn’s life, but

Review: Screwing Up Babylon by C. M. Keller
Screwing Up Babylon
Screwing up Time Book 2
By C. M. Keller
Time Travel is infinitely more colorful and more dangerous than we imagined.
My Summary:
Mark
didn’t plan on visiting Babylon, but when his girlfriend is kidnapped,
he’ll travel through the colors of time to rescue her from the fate of
becoming one of the king’s concubines.
My review:

On Getting Buried
I
had big plans for August. It’s usually one of my more productive
months. The sun is blisteringly hot and the temperatures are over 110,
or they’re in the mid nineties but it’s so humid you can cut the air
with a knife (thank you Monsoon season). I’m stuck indoors. I fool
myself into thinking I’m back in an Oregon winter by turning on the
rain, keeping the blackout curtains shuttered and

August in a Nutshell
Words Written: 28,464
With
the exception of the final week, you can see my writing was quite…
nonexistent. I’d like to blame that on the fact my nose was stuck in
revision pages… but I don’t have a lot to show for that either.
Books Revised: 1
I was hoping to get 4 books revised, but three of them turned out to be such messes, I’m still slogging through them.

I made a workbook for my lists!
The

about time. I spend a lot of time deciding what level of production I
need to obtain. Largely that production comes in word count… sometimes
it’s in pages. But it always, invariably, includes lists

Missed Deadline
Sometimes it's nice being my own boss... there's no one to yell at me when I misss a revision deadline because I have an epiphany that demands a book's ending is rewritten. You might be wondering why I'm not working on that. Why I'm typing this up instead. The answer? it's difficult for me to slash things to pieces with one hand while I munch down some lovely feta and pesto pasta salad with the

Writing Anywhere... Everywhere
If
there’s one thing I love about writing, it’s the fact that I can do it
anywhere – and in fact I tend to do it everywhere. If you follow my oft
neglected instagram feed, you’ll see the occasional Manuscript with
meal/beer picture in the mix. (okay, it’s cider.)
Truly,
I have some form of writing medium on me at all times – even if it is
only the “notes” app in my phone. On a

Thursdays... A Pox On Their Houses
How I feel on Thursdays*
Douglas Adams clearly got me. Thursdays
are… the bain of my existence. No matter how much I try to make them
work or how I try to “get over it” I can never get a good clear hold on
the days.
My
word counts on Thursdays are abominable – unless I’m super proactive –
and in general, I just want to adopt the attitude of a particular early
