Editing Tips – Big Issues: Taking it Chapter by Chapter

So you’ve finished your manuscript. Awesome! Seriously that is so cool. But… you’re so far from being done.

That realization is going to slap you in the face sooner or later. And it’s going to hurt.

You just created a book that is hopefully somewhere between 80,000 and 100,000 words. That’s a lot of pages. Really, go look at the page count at the bottom of your document if you don’t

Five Covers I'm In Love With Right Now

Let's talk about some covers I'm in love with ...

All these cover images are snagged from GoodReads. If you love the cover as much as I do, definitely go check it out The titles are linked to their GR page.

1. Burning Kingdoms by Lauren Destefano

There's something super simplistic and gorgeous about this. Love the broken bust, the dynamic element of the cover, and the bright point in the

Review: Screwing Up Mongolia by C. M. Keller

Screwing Up Mongolia
by C. M. Keller
Screwing Up Time book #2.5
My Summary:Henry and Miranda head to Mongolia to snag the mammoth tusk he’ll need if he wants to decipher the Babylonian Tablet. My Review:Firstly, let me say it’s short. At an approximate 19 pages, it is definitely a short story – thankfully, there is no attempt to hide this in the description. That being said, it’s entertaining

Let's Talk About Wormholes

Definition: the theoretical passageway in space between a black hole and a white hole.

Albert Einstein and Nathan Rosen came up with the theory of relativity in 1935. It posited that there were bridges through space-time. These bridges are now known as Einstein-Rosen bridges or Wormholes.

The basic gist... what do bridges do? They connect two points.  Wormholes connect two points in

My Thoughts on Guardians of the Galaxy... and Why It Took This Long to Share Them

We saw Guardians the weekend it came out... and the weekend after that. And I've been meaning to talk about ever since.

My attempt at dancing Groot lists heavily to the right....

The new era of marvel movies have been a lot of fun, some of them have been a little off (Thor needed another 20 minutes to allow for the character growth to have made sense) some of them have been a bit too heavy (I

Why I Plotted out the Series in Whole

As
with the plot of a book, a series has its own beginning, middle, and
end. Usually it’s simple to spot in a trilogy, as the books themselves
fall into that particular order. (This does not apply to novels like the
Culture series, or to most detective style novels.)

When
I sat down with the Flynn Series, I realized that what I was writing
would look more like a television series…

A Full Plate

I've got one.

Metaphorically speaking, of course.

I'd say that was a bad thing, but I seem to thrive on (so long as I keep it all organized). The only real problem I run into is that when I'm on a tear... I want to add more and more to that plate. I start to think I could be getting more done. And I have to keep myself from getting overwhelmed.

So.. 'scuse me while I go grab a fork and get to
