Family Reviews...
Coming from a family that believe; "There is no such thing as a free lunch" and additionally a family led by an English teacher, it has been one of my scariest moments to discover that very person (Of course I am referring to my mother!) has recently read and reviewed Stray Bullet.
I am happy to report I received 4 stars from her on Kindle though I have not seen the review. It still seems bribery will get me nowhere in my family!! :)
The great thing is, 4 stars means exactly what it says on the can! So, whilst delighted with this endorsement, I will strive to do better mother! :)

Mostyn House School (A Eulogy)
Recently, Mostyn House School; where my brother and I followed in my father and uncle's footsteps at being educated, was closed and sold to property developers. A very sad day indeed. As the main soloist in the vinyl recording shown in the short eulogy on youtube, I am deeply saddened that this great building will now be gutted and converted into living space... The many ghosts that were reputed to wander the corridors at night may not be too happy either!!

Giveaways
As a fairly new member to Goodreads, I feel as excited as a puppy let loose in an Andrex factory! :) Giveaways are such a great way to discover new authors that might otherwise go unnoticed. I have entered quite a few in the last couple of days and have also put one up for my own book Stray Bullet... I hope you will all find me and enter for one of the 5 free copies I am giving away.

Amazon 5 Star Review
Always great to get a new and great review. 5 Stars on Amazon from James Duncanson;
"This book was read by myself and my wife it appealed to both our reading niches. It has all the twists and turns that you could want in a drama. We both hope that it is the beginning of a run of books featuring Jack Shaw. It was an "easy read" for both of us, great plot twists and scope for sequel."

Reviews in general
What would be great for authors and promoters would be to have a top end interface where reviews could be gathered in one place.
It would be especially helpful if the global giants such as Amazon could share reviews across all of their file extensions e.g. .com .co.uk .ca etc...
Is it just me that thinks this is a good idea? After all why wouldn't a reader in the US want to read a review that originated in the UK. I'm talking of a review based upon the same work available across multi sites...
Seems odd that this has not happened yet. Perhaps anybody else out there that has similar views may wish to add something?

Another Review

Stray Bullet was very good, engaging and exciting. I have always liked Mafia stories and crime dramas, and this one has a little bit of both.
I was pleasantly surprised with the mafia angle, and I would have liked to see that developed a little bit more. Perhaps in the next book, we will see the fallout after Jack missed his surprise target, and then did not even get a chance at his designated target! On top of that, how will the murder of Lee go unnoticed?
Jack has created problems for himself, and potentially his mafia family and new bride, and his arrogance producing the chilling letter to Harvey may add to his undoing.
I did not find any grammatical errors in the manuscript.
I don’t think there was one character I liked more than any other. I tended to dislike Jack, obviously because of his disregard for life, but also because of his arrogance and self-centeredness. It was hard to tell with Natasha; does she know about Jack and his alter ego, or just how depraved he really is? With children in the picture, how long can she look the other way?
The questions in plot and character relationships alone leave the door wide open for another book in this series.
My favourite part of the book would be anytime I was surprised by a twist. For instance, when Jack became a fully established member of the crime family, I was very excited and engaged on a deeper level. Then, seeing Jack’s letter to Harvey was a GREAT way to end the story, with chills and hints at a rivalry in chapters to come.
I would recommend this book to a friend, and yes, I hope for and would read a sequel!
