The Waiting Room…
^^^That’s shouty caps for….H E L L O!!!! ;)
Yesterday was a big day for me because I finished my 3rd book! Mine to Steal is now complete and in the hands of some wonderful wonderful people who are going to provide their feedback because they are, well, WONDERFUL! (Let the freakout commence: is it good enough? will they like it? should I have changed that one part?)
*Exhale* – letting it go.
I have enjoyed spending the last 3 months (yes, 3) with Trey. It was definitely different to write this book than the last two, but challenging in the best way. This story took several unexpected turns that were not planned, but I rolled with it and *think* it’s better for it. Sometimes we plan things and they don’t work out, but the end result is so much better. I sincerely hope that’s the case with this one.
I never posted a teaser for this week because I was working on finishing the last two chapters, but I do have one.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who’s kept up with this blog while I write. In the next few weeks, Mine to Steal will be in the hands of my editor with an anticipated release of late May. I’ll keep you posted. ;)
As always, thanks for stopping by!
XO

BOOM…
I needed to take a short break from finishing up Mine to Steal to write a blog post.
As I said yesterday, the last time I posted was on March 20. There’s been quite a bit that’s happened since then. What, you might ask? Well, I’ll tell you. :)
While writing Mine to Steal, I stumbled upon TWO new stories. I have them plotted out and ready to start as soon as I finish Trey’s story. One is another love story, but the other is dark. I have to admit, the darkness scares me, but I feel this pull to go there. We’ll see where it leads. They each have titles, but I’m not revealing them until there’s more to tell…just in case I decide not to tell the story at all.
Aside from that, I’ve spent five of the last ten working days, in a coffeehouse writing, because it seems that I am unable to write from home. But I’ve knocked out quite a bit there, which makes me incredibly happy. Mine to Steal, more importantly, TREY, is coming along nicely. I had an epiphany last week and the rest of the story unfolded in front of me. Needless to say, HAPPY FACES all around. :) :) :) This book will be ready for BETA by the middle of next week….at the latest. 8-)

Mine to Steal ~ Cover Reveal!!

Mine to Steal
T.K. Rapp

SYNOPSIS
In life and business, Trey Miller has always been the good guy. Nothing wrong with that, since it’s gotten him everywhere he has needed to be. His startup company is a success and growing so much that he is gaining the attention of larger corporations.
By all accounts, Trey has it all, but the one place he fails is love.
He thought he might have had something with Emogen Kane, but she was taken before he even had a chance. Now, he hides behind work, unwilling to take any risks in the love department.
When Trey finds himself vying for a huge account against Faith Young, he knows he’s going to have to play it tough to win. Faith is smart, attractive and rumor has it, she lands every account she goes after.
When Faith is thrown into his path at every turn, Trey starts to feel that it is more than a coincidence. Seeing Faith with her boyfriend douses the flame that he was starting to feel, until he realizes that the guy might not at all be what he seems.
Trey let go once, but he’s determined to win it all this time. Does he have it in him to roll up his sleeves and get dirty? And if he does, will he finally end up with the girl?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR -> ME ;)
T.K. Rapp is a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend – a writer. She’s a lover of music, photography and raunchy television (the raunchier, the better.) If you asked her friends what words they would use to describe her: an incurable dork, slightly awkward, loyal to a fault, a bit of a gossip, and a bit bitchy. (She tends to agree with all of them in some small measure.)
In July of 2013, T.K. published her first novel, Being There. Set in Texas, Being There tells the story of Cass, as she encounters life-altering news and the reemergence of old friends in her life. It was a lifelong dream for T.K. to write something and see it published, a feat she is incredibly proud of.
Her latest novel, Mine to Lose, was released in January of 2014. MtL is a story about Emogen Kane – who finds her relationship with her fiancé, Ryan, falling apart. She’s left wondering if they were meant to be, or if it’s time to move on.
Rapp is currently working on completing the follow-up to Mine to Lose, titled - Mine to Steal - due to release Mid-May 2014.
When not writing, T.K. can be found chauffeuring Gidget & Peese (her kids) to their various activities or hanging out with her husband.

Blog Tour ~ Unforeseen Heartbeat by Maureen Mayer
Unforeseen Heartbeat
Synopsis:
Used… Broken… Confused…
It only took one drunken mistake four years ago for Maddie Harrington to learn that when you fully give yourself over to a man, you should never expect anything in return. Since that night, her views on love have become distorted, believing men would only want her for the pleasure her body could bring them. She in turn finds herself hooking up with random guys but never keeps them around long enough to see if there could possibly be something more.
That is…until Hunter Bryant enters the picture.
When the handsome pre-med student shows up in the right place at the right time, captivating her with his stormy gaze, she immediately pushes him away, thinking he’s no different than any other guy. The deeper Hunter delves into her life, trying to break through her iron-clad walls, the more she begins to question whether she is truly capable of opening her heart up to another man.
Maddie soon finds herself forced to make a difficult decision, one that will forever change both of their lives. Will she shut Hunter out of her life for good, or will she finally open up her heart and allow herself the life she never dreamed she deserved?

Good To You…
WHAT’S UP:
This week, I have made it a point to write. Shouldn’t that be my point/objective every week? Why, yes. Yes it should. BUT, it hasn’t. Which is why I took a FB hiatus. My 2 day Facebook hiatus was set so that I was not available for chat or otherwise posting…okay, I did the occasional check-in.
My mission: Make some progress on Mine to Steal.
Outcome: Success!! I have been able to write so much, and the ideas are flowing.
I love social media, it’s definitely been my friend as I maneuver through the writing world, but it can also get distracting. There is ALWAYS something going on. Whether it’s some new meme, a fellow author who has a new cover to share, or just wasting time scrolling, I find myself in front of Facebook to the point of driving myself crazy. Seriously, the end of the day comes and I can’t help but ask myself, “What did I get done today?” Usually the answer is pretty frustrating.
I may make this a weekly practice, to limit my Facebook time to three days a week, and hopefully I will end up with the same results….an increase in word count!
WHERE I’M AT:
When I wrote Being There, I had an array of songs playing depending on what I was writing. It worked. With Mine to Lose… not so much. Songs were a distraction, and silence was my friend. I was able to write and get thoughts out of my head without interruption…until the silence was too…well, silent. Feeling blocked and annoyed I went to my tried and true….MUSIC. If you’ve seen my playlist on Spotify, or the book trailer for Mine to Lose, you know that A Great Big World, “Say Something,” is a big part of that. BUT, what you might not realize is that the one song that spoke to me like no other, for over 1/2 of the book was ”Good To You,” by The Avett Brothers. This song makes me want to cry, gives me hope and makes me sing…poorly. During the course of writing MtL, it played over 461 times. Yep, you read that right, and I love it just as much. Aside from the connection I’ve made between it and MTL, there is the obvious message of this song, which can be applied to any relationship.
Now, as I continue writing Mine to Steal, music has become my inspiration – my friend – once again. I love it. I have a playlist that I add to, whenever the mood strikes. (I’ll share soon) ;)
In the meantime, thanks for reading, liking, sharing, posting and whatever else it is you can do out there. I hope that if you read Mine to Lose, you loved it and reviewed it (indie authors rely on that ) and that you are looking as forward to reading Mine to Steal and I am to write it.
XO

Happy…
So this past Saturday, I attended the Houston Author Bash, hosted by Wines & Labels Productions. This was my first signing and I met some wonderful people! I’m still exhausted from the whole thing…but in the best way possible.

RS & Me
I was table buddies with RS Grey, who I’ve had the pleasure of meeting before. She’s so stinkin’ cute and about the nicestest person one could meet. And her boyfriend, Lance is a genuinely nice and funny guy. These two together…magic! (LOL, cheesy, I know!) RS and I are not only FB buddies, but we sprint and text and vent; I love this girl!
Icing on the cake? This weekend, I got to meet Penny Reid. Have you read her books?? AMAZING!! Have you met her in person?? AMAZING-ER!! I was terribly nervous to meet her, especially after having read an ARC of Love Hacked. This book was intelligent, witty, sexy and just plain awesome. So…what if my newest hero didn’t match up to her work???

Penny Reid, RS & Me
Crisis averted, because…duh, said it above – AMAZING-ER! She had a crowd around her that was mesmerized and entertained by her stories, love of knitting and whatever else she wanted to talk about.
The other person I was dying to meet was Erin of Southern Belle Book Blog. Let me tell you a little story:
Back in October, I went to the Austin Author Event with RS, where we eagerly awaited meeting Colleen Hoover and Molly McAdams, among others. While I was waiting for RS, I was standing in line behind a girl with a HUGE….H-U-G-E bag of books. She was with a man, who I assumed was her husband, and they moved aside to sort her books. I left the gap open so she could resume her place because, well, anyone with that many books deserves her spot! She ended up meeting up with some friends and joined them in line and that was the end of it. Or so I thought….

RS, Erin & Me
Cut to about a week or two later, I get a message on my FB author account from someone that went something like this:
ERIN: “…..If I ask you this crazy question, will you promise not to think I’m like a stalker? Lol So I had seen somewhere (who knows where) that a few authors would be at the Austin signing as fans…..” “Were you near the end of the line around…say 11:45ish? Next to a girl with a large VS pink tote?”
ME: “LOL! That’s hilarious!! I was there….and that sounds like the girl I was in line behind. Was that you???”
And the rest is history! Erin is one of my dear, lovely friends who texts or messages me daily, and I love it! So, we FINALLY got to meet IRL, and hug and be silly and laugh hysterically for, well…..a ton of hours!
Erin, RS, Penny and I, along with Lance, my mom and Angie (Penny’s assistant) went to dinner with some of Penny’s fabulous fans after the event was over and we had so much fun. The entire experience was surreal and overwhelming, but I’m so glad I was with all of these people to experience it firsthand. I loved meeting new people like, Stacy Borel, Vicki Green, Nikki Narvaez, Danielle Jamie & Erin Noelle, and chatting with bloggers and readers. Here are a few more pics from the day.
Have a great Hump Day!!
