It’s baaacccckkkk! And back with a bang!! Oh how I have missed thee Author Spotlight!

This week’s Author Spotlight is Theresa Rite discussing her upcoming debut erotic novel, Chat! I’m super excited about this author AND this book, because BOTH are aca-mazing! Rite took some time out of her busy schedule to *chat* about Chat and give us some insight into her crazy mind…and it’s crazy!! Let’s start off with a little about Chat!

Synopsis of Chat:

Chat

Contemporary Erotica, Stand-Alone Novel

When Sandy Quinn met Jason Brewer on the first day of second grade, a life-long friendship was born.

Twenty-six years later, Jason is finally ready to move on from his divorce. His ex-wife leaves behind her Kindle, and he stumbles upon Bestselling Author Carissa Steel’s latest release. After learning that she lives less than an hour from his apartment- and is single- he contacts her on Facebook. As he struggles to flirt over chat, he enlists the help of his best friend.

Sandy has spent three years waiting for her boyfriend, Jack, to finally pop the question. At the same time Jason asks for her help, her world slowly begins to crumble around her. Through her pain, she continues to support her best friend, playing Cyrano to his newest conquest.

As Sandy begins to chat with Jason online, she creates a safe place to explore what neither of the friends thought would ever exist between them. As lines blur and are eventually crossed, they begin to wonder if amazing sex is worth risking a lifetime of friendship.

Twenty-six years… twenty-six letters.

Could they have always only needed each other?

It’s time to get to know

Theresa Rite

TK – Thank you for stopping by and answering some of my questions. I know you, and love you, but introduce yourself to the rest of the class

RITE – Thank you for inviting me to your party, TK! I love you back, twice as hard, and for a billion reasons. You are SUCH a classy broad. I can only hope to learn from you, wise one.

*bows reverently*

Hi! I’m so happy to meet you all! I’m Theresa Rite, and I write erotic romance. Meaning, there’s all kinds of explicit banging going on. Sometimes, the best relationships are built on a good solid banging. I write about such… bangs. Relationship-building bangs. RBB. I’m down with RBB. (I’m not drinking, I promise.)

TK – Your book, Chat, is due out at the end of this month, what can you tell us about this book?

RITE - Chat is about Sandy and Jason. They met on the first day of second grade, and have been best friends ever since. They tried the relationship thing at one point, but did not want to ruin their perfect friendship.

Now in their thirties, something tragic brings them closer, while something fun gives them that nudge toward what they should have been doing all along.

Each other.

Ha!

TK – I was fortunate enough to read an ARC of Chat and I loved it. It was fun, sweet, witty and of course sexy. What was it about the premise that made you want to write this story?

RITE - Thank you!!!!!

I make book covers for inspiration. Chat is one of several book covers I made and kept for a rainy day. I give these unwritten books snappy, one word titles, and then wait for inspiration to hit.

Chat was inspired by the concept of words being powerful enough to change the course of lives. Words move us in many ways- which is why we all love to read, right?

TK – I loved Jason. I mean, what’s there NOT to like? He’s charming, loyal, cute-as-hell and encourages strength in Sandy. Do you consider him an “alpha” lead or an everyday man?

RITE – Ah, Jason. Jason is a romantic at heart, so when placed in an “alpha” lead, has the ability to shock- and attract- Sandy. Sandy has always been the Type A boss in their friendship, so when she learns that Jason is domineering in bed, she’s unable to get him off of her mind… or her heart.

TK – Sandy goes through quite a bit, as we discover through the telling of this story. How would you describe her character and the changes she goes through?

RITE – Sandy is in an unhealthy relationship with her boyfriend, Jack. The cycle of abuse includes a shiny honeymoon period that bright, intelligent, confident women find themselves waiting around for.

Sandy evolves, recognizing that there are many types of abuse, and just as many stages of dealing with an abusive relationship. Jason helps her realize that she deserves more.

TK – If there was one thing about this story that you would want people to know, what would that be?

RITE – This story is about accepting that you truly deserve what seems too good to be true. Not everything has to be complicated. There are happily ever afters, every single day.

It is what it is, so be in love.

TK – Alright….now on to you – Have you always wanted to be a writer?

RITE – Yes! I wrote my ass off for years. I wrote for competitions in high school, I wrote fan fiction, I wrote shitty poetry, I wrote shittier stories… point being, I wrote until I honed and defined my voice, and my craft. Now, I have to write, just like I have to breathe. Or pee.

TK – What do you think is the hardest part of writing a story?

RITE – Hardest part… finding time. My day J-O-B takes up so much of my time. But, since I have to write (like I have to pee) I make the time.

Second hardest part… 41 K. That 41,000th word is a motherfucker. Once I get over that hump, I’m golden.

TK – What do you love most about writing?

RITE – My imaginary friends! I own them. They are mine. I make them do everything I want them to do. Do I ever want to slap the heroine? Fucking never. I taught that bitch everything she knows. Do I want to throw my Kindle across the room at that cliffhanger? HELL no, I built that cliff with my bare hands. Love triangle, you say? Fuck yeah! And SOMEONE’ S getting pregnant. That’s the way I roll!

(Not in Chat, though. None of that shit happens, lol!)

TK – What do you feel is your biggest accomplishment professionally? Personally?

RITE – Professionally? It’s my day J-O-B. Writing feels too much like fun. Personally? Befriending TK Rapp. Honestly, you are so amazing and I love you from the bottom of my skanky heart.

TK – If someone asked your advice about writing, what would you say?

RITE – Pretend that you are 8-years-old playing make-believe. Have ALL of that fun again. Play like no one is watching. Make your own props. Dress up like a princess.

Ultimately, do it for YOU.

TK – Are you reading anything right now?

RITE – Yes, I’m reading “Filmmaking for Dummies.” My next book includes a sexy director, so it’s research time!

TK – Lighting Round: Ready…Set…GO!

RITE – OH SHIT!

TK – Favorite Book

RITE – OF ALL TIME?? Perfect by Judith Mcnaught. Julie and Zack. GAH! Sigh

TK – Favorite Author

RITE – Judith McNaught, Stephen King, VC Andrews, and TK Rapp (ßBecause she is a cool chick with a hot ass.)

TK – Last Book You Read

RITE – Mine to Steal by TK Rapp! LOVED IT! LOVE TREY! I even love Faith, which isn’t always the case in a book like that where the strong, female lead is competing with the sexy hero… but she is AWESOME!!

TK – Ultimate Book Boyfriend

RITE – Rhett Fucking Butler. YES.

TK – Boxers or Briefs

RITE – Commando!

TK – Favorite Movie

RITE – Clue AND Fools Rush In AND The Wedding Singer. Three way. (As it should be.)

TK – Wine or Beer

RITE – Rum and Coke!

TK – What is Your Favorite Word

RITE – Rake. I love it. Rake rake rake. I could say it all day. It means garden tool AND ungentlemanly tool.

LOVE it.

TK – Liam or Chris

RITE – Chris Hemsworth is number one on my laminated freebie list. Husband has signed an agreement acknowledging that I may tag Thor’s ass with no repercussions.

Which is great, because being married was the ONLY thing standing in my way of banging Chris Hemsworth.

TK – Romy or Michelle

RITE – I’m so Romy, and I LOVE Michele!! (But… I’m the Mary.)

TK – Text or Chat

RITE – DUH!! Chat baby! (Releasing May 31… shameless plug… shameless plug…)

TK – Who Shot JR?

RITE – It was Miss Scarlett! In the Ballroom! With the Revolver!

TK – Last thing: If you could say anything to your readers what would it be?

RITE - Make your path, don’t find your path. Be happy, wherever you may roam.

… and thank you for loving words as much as I do!!

Thank you TK Rapp I LOVE YOU!!!!

TK – No…Thank YOU!! You’re the best and hopefully my wifey doesn’t see you being all crazy…she’s the jealous type! LOL.

A Different Kind of Teaser Tuesday!

While I’m waiting to get feedback on my rewrites for Mine to Steal, I figured I’d post something completely different. This time, I’m going to post about ARCs I’ve had the honor of reading (or will be reading) and tell you about them. So let’s get started!!

First up, we have Chat by Theresa Rite:
Chat

I loved this book! I had read the premise and since she’s a friend of mine, Theresa let me read an ARC. First off, it was NOT what I was expecting…in a really good way! Sandy and Jason are life-long friends with an unbreakable bond. Every since second grade, they’ve seen each other through life’s bumps and bruises and always made it to the other side. Recently divorced, Jason is ready to move on and find his next romance, and with the help of his best friend, he does exactly that. Sandy (the name makes me what to sing Sandra Dee) and Jason are the friends you love to read about. They have each other’s back, push each other to be better and have that friendship built on witty comebacks and history that make you question everything. Jason…he’s kinda perfect….I really wanted him to forget the other writer and choose me. LOL! Add this one to your TBR!!!

Click HERE for the link to my review of Chat

Next up is Word Play by Amalie Silver:

Word Play

So….the cover alone is enough to make someone want to read this book. But to actually read it….charming, funny, sexy, witty and incredibly clever are a few things that come to mind. Amalie Silver takes the writing community and flips the tables. This satirical take on authors, bloggers, agents, fanatics and everything in between is fabulous! What happens when a best-selling-sexy-erotica author, Christoph Strong meets his match in Monica Singer, the blogger determined to learn his identity? Misunderstandings, games, flirtation and of course sexy-time. (Had to channel Borat for that one!) I can’t wait for everyone to pick this one up because really…you’ll love it!

Click HERE to add Word Play to your TBR

Then there is Point of Redemption by Stacey Lynn:

Point of Redemption

Point of Redemption is SO NEW….the cover hasn’t been revealed yet!! Stacey Lynn is one of my favorite people because she dances, she’s funny and a helluva writer!!! I’m so excited that I have my hands on this upcoming release. What does one do when she’s in a cyber waiting room with her own MS? She starts this book TODAY!!! I know I will love it. HOW do I know this, you might ask? Because I LOVED Point of Return, (Nordic Lords #1). That book made me cry and want more – and now she’s giving it to me! This is Ryker’s story. This is Faith’s story. THIS is a love story. Something tells me this is going to hurt, but call me a masochist because I’m going to read it anyway!!

Click HERE to add Point of Return & Point of Redemption to your TBR

After that is Scoring Wilder by R.S. Grey:

Scoring Wilder

Everyone knows I love me some R.S.! She’s my girl, text-buddy, beta-partner and table-partner….we are partner’s a lot!! LOL! If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting her in person, you are missing out because she is one of the most genuine and kind people I have met. Super sweet!! Anyway, my lovely friend sent me this gem to read and I can’t wait. I LOVED With This Heart…it broke mine, many times. And now, Scoring Wilder….are you kidding me?!? MUST read!! Again, I suppose I’m attracted to fabulous covers, and this one definitely makes that list! So soon as I’m finished with Lynn’s book….this one is queued up and ready to go and I’m looking forward to it!

Click HERE to add Scoring Wilder to your TBR…and while you’re there, add With This Heart (because it’s amazing!)

Anyway, these are only a few of the books I have my hands on and I thought I’d share the love. These are great books and wonderful, amazing, fabulous, kind, fun, witty, sexy, hysterical, awesome, intelligent, angsty, brave – authors who wrote them! Be sure to give them a whirl, if you haven’t already!!

XO

Pocketful of Sunshine…

I believe I have posted this just about everywhere else, except my blog. I guess it’s time then…

As you know, I completed Mine to Steal  a few weeks back. I sent it to some Beta readers who gave me some awesome feedback. (Yes, I realize I overuse the word awesome, but in this case, the adjective is quite fitting.) Using the suggestions they gave me, I tweaked the manuscript and sent it back out to a few others to read, and they loved it! But you know who didn’t love it?

ME!

http://www.pinterest.com/pin/472596554618990745/

I love my characters…all except one. Each of them have different characteristics that I love: funny, charming, strong, obnoxious, caring, smart, quirky and one is inappropriate. But something about this story wasn’t clicking for me.

My husband read my first book, and let me state here: HE IS NOT A READER! But he loved the first book, Being There. I think he loved it in the way that he has to, because I’m his wife. ;) He was really busy and never read the second book, which didn’t bother me in the least. Honestly, I was so impressed he read ONE. LOL. Well, cut to my working on Mine to Steal. I’ve never written what I call, “Dude” before and when he found out, he insisted on reading, much to my excitement and dismay. (Really…mixed feelings!!) After talking over the premise and then his reading the first 10 chapters, things started to click and he gave me some great suggestions and helped correct things that weren’t clicking at all. Now, I know what I need to do.

This was a VERY long-winded explanation of justifying the reason I have decided to postpone publishing Mine to Steal for a couple of weeks. My editor has been understanding and encouraging and I plan on getting the completed, revised and best version of the MS to her in the next week or two.

Currently, I’m pushing to release on June 12. If that changes, I’ll definitely post. But be looking out for more teasers and giveaways that are coming soon!!

8-) Pocketful of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield. Clicked random and this came on and made me super happy!

SYNOPSIS:

Smut sells.

Michael Rourke learned this the hard way.

Struggling to make ends meet as a mystery writer, he sold his soul – and his pride – as he pedaled sex and lust writing under the pen name Christoph Strong.

No one knew he was the one behind the steamy stories on the bestsellers lists. And he planned to keep it that way.

Until he met her.

Monica Singer, an infamous blogger, is keen to discover the truth of his secret identity.

During a chance meeting at a book convention, Michael and Monica form an instant connection. And soon, an innocent online friendship becomes something so much more.

But as Michael starts to let his guard down, he doesn’t realize that the person he’s learning to trust may be hiding secrets of her own.

Secrets that could ultimately destroy everything.

Alive…

Alright, so it’s Wednesday. How has your week been good so far???

Mine has been pretty good, and while I’m waiting to hear back from my betas about Mine to Steal, I’ve been busy plotting out the next book that I’ve been working on. This one came to me a while back and I’ve been sitting on it, despite it’s incessant poking at me while I work on other things.

It has a title!

It has a cover!

It even has a synopsis!

BUT….here’s the kicker….this one is being kept close to the vest until I’ve completed it. I’m scared to write it. I’m nervous about what people will think. However, I think I’m more scared of what I will think.

So, in the meantime, when I blog, I will focus on sharing Mine to Steal teasers and information. And if I can get someone who is willing to let me interview them soon, I will share another Author Spotlight. I miss those….but everyone has been so busy, they haven’t had time to take me up on the offer. (Soon…very soon.)

And just to let you know, Being There, my first novel, is on sale right now on Amazon for $.99! The sale is limited, so be sure to get your copy soon and please please PLEASE be sure to leave a review. If you love a story, the best compliment you can pay the author is a review!

SaleBT

I suppose that is all I have for now. Aren’t you glad you checked it out??? LOL! Thanks so much for stopping by this week and hope the rest of your week kicks ass!!

Hey! Baby…

Happy Wednesday!! HUMP – DAAAAAYYYYY!!

Yesterday was a busy day because I had some things to take care…the biggest being that I needed to re-reveal my new book cover.

WHAT!?!?!

Yeah, as it turns out, I started seeing more books with the same couple, and same pose on their book. Who can blame them, they make a GORGEOUS cover!! I really loved my version of the cover, but I felt it best to revamp and reveal a NEW cover. Of course I was disappointed because…I LOVED IT, and it was already out there. But since Mine to Steal doesn’t release for another month, I decided that I have time to get a new cover.

(Give me a sec….)

That didn’t take long. :P

Thanks to some advice from my girl Amy Queau (who is freakin’ awesome!) I have a new cover that – I can’t believe I’m going to say this and totally mean it:

I LOVE MORE THAN THE ORIGINAL!

Introducing the Mine To Steal Book Cover 2.0
Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000040_00002]
Mine to Steal

What are your thoughts on seeing the same couple appear on numerous book covers? Did I make the right decision in revamping the above title??

OH YEAH!!! I said it was a busy day! I heard back from two of my betas (amazing women that I appreciate so much) and based on their feedback, I’ve been working on some rewrites that are adding so much to the story. I can’t wait to finish these up and send it to a couple of more people before it goes to the editor. I better get back to it…another busy day ahead!

As always, thanks for stopping by!
