Novel in progress
Last night completed 87,688 words of the first draft of my novel in progress. The story and plot are developing very well but I had to make a slight change to one of my minor characters who will take a major role in the story.
It is surprising how as you are developing the characters and plot how an author might identify in the beginning a character's relationship in the story but left them as minor player but in the back your mind you feel that this character will take a more active role.
I now feel the story and plot are better integrated. I have a month to finish the first draft.

At the end of June, I started the second draft/edit of my novel in progress and so far, I’m happy to say, no drastic plot changes were required. Main changes centre on dialogue, missing words, grammar and conciseness. I hope to finish this phase by end of August, early September. Then a short break and onto the final pass. My goal to publish by December/January still looks achievable but only time will tell.
Editing
Novel in progress has now entered the third edit phase. I look forward to a quick turn around with only minor changes to dialogue/grammar. The cover is complete and the back cover blurb in draft, all going well.
