Roll Against Trust (3d20 book 1)

Purchase LinkAmazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PTTTDZU

BlurbTasha’s not looking for love, but she doesn’t mind just looking… and maybe a little fantasizing. Her two best friends and weekend AD& D buddies, Seth and Ryan, are the perfect guest stars in her fantasies. When a late night gaming session with the three goes from silly to verbally scorching in an instant, Tasha wonders if her imagination is enough to keep her satisfied long term. Then her ex’s money mismanagement catches up to her in the form of draining her bank account, her job is threatened by a mistake that points to Ryan, and Seth takes his side. If Tasha can’t move past her trust issues long enough to uncover the truth—both with herself and the men she’s falling for—she’ll wind up broken-hearted and just plain broke.

Excerpt
“You all right?” Seth asked as he dropped into the empty seat, and set his order number on the edge of the table next to ours.
I forced a smile into place. I wasn’t discussing my money problems with either of them. It had taken me months to even tell them I’d been married once upon a time. “Typical Monday, you know? Sucky here and there and everywhere. It’ll pass.”
Seth studied me, pale eyes trying to pry into my soul, and I turned my attention to chasing the ice in my drink with my straw. A heavy silence fell over the table. Someone set our food in front of us, but I was too distracted to dive in. I needed to ask Ryan about the Zedophap project. Just spit it out.
“Split the difference?” Ryan cut into my hesitation, even though the words triggered an instinct that told me he wasn’t talking to me.
Seth took a moment to respond. “He is pretty cute.”
Irritation crawled under my skin. Great. Not this. I followed their gazes toward a couple on the other side of the room. She was short and curvy with straight, blonde hair—basically the exact opposite of my physical appearance. He was okay. Not gorgeous, but better than average, and so immaculately dressed I wondered if his T-shirt was pressed. They were scowling at each other in some sort of silent-argument, death-match-stare-down.
The point of Ryan and Seth’s split the difference was to find an arguing couple, be the friendly stranger with a shoulder to cry on, and if they did things right, Ryan would go home with her number, and Seth with his. My aggravation bubbled up, carried by the tensions of the day. “Could you two not do this? Just this once? Could you maybe let the arguing couples of the world try and work things out on their own for the day?” I winced at the edge in my own voice. Way to blow things out of proportion, me.
Two heads whirled in my direction. Seth studied me, brows furrowed. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
Ryan’s eyes narrowed and he turned back to his food. “Hormonal.”
That single word, even though a tiny part of me knew he was teasing, broke something inside. I let out a soft growl and turned my attention to him.

RELEASE DAY - PARANORMALLY YOURS

Well, it's here. Release day for Paranormally Yours, an anthology with seven authors. Today, I'm featuring my book, but over the next couple of weeks each of the authors will take their turn...

Seven of today’s hottest paranormal authors come together to bring you a boxed set guaranteed to keep you warm on a cold winter’s night. Do shifters make you howl? Or do you prefer the bite of a vampire? Perhaps the controlling hand of a demi-god is more your style. Paranormally Yours has a story—or seven—to set your pulse racing.
For Heaven’s Cakes by Diane Saxon
What he doesn’t anticipate is meeting the local pharmacist’s daughter - in his wolf form. By day, he renovates the pharmacy, and tries to cajole the lush assistant into having dinner with him. By night he watches Catherine bake her fantastic creations and blossom through her art.
Sleeping on her bed each night in his wolf form isn’t exactly ideal, but how does he tell her the wolf she’s come to love, is the man she lusts over?

Excerpt:
The cracked, peeling paint looked different from the way it had twelve years earlier when Beau had been a regular visitor to the pharmacy. His younger brother obviously still was from the way he strode inside, allowing the door to bump against the stopper and bounce back. It creaked and groaned at the stress, and almost hit Beau in the face. He shot his arm out to stop the door with the heel of his hand, feeling the crackle and splinter of the paint against his skin while he observed the quick grin on his brother’s face as Zeke glanced over his shoulder at him. Bloody kid, never would grow up. Zeke would have just laughed if he’d managed to break his nose for him. Always one to challenge the supremacy of the pack, he’d probably ruled the town in the absence of his two older brothers.Zeke had taken pride in showing him around. A lot had changed, fast food restaurants had sprung up – they’d filled their bellies in one, enjoying the rich taste of the promised breakfast. With a shake of his head, Beau wiped the shards of old paint from his hand and stepped inside.Doc Tyler must still own the place from the way the shelves were stacked - exactly the same as they always had been. Beau tracked his gaze around the pharmacy, noted the perfect placement of each item, not a speck of dust in sight, unlike the outer shell of the building. On a closer look, the shelves had deteriorated, some of the screws had pulled loose and not been fixed back into the wall. He’d bet his life the old boy still kept the condoms behind the counter so he could monitor the teenagers and scare the shit out of them for daring to think about having sex. Doc Tyler should have been proud of them, at least they were the responsible ones, those who bought condoms instead of risking unprotected sex.He glanced at the counter, and expected to see skinny Doc Tyler, eyebrows pulled low as he glared over the top of his half-moon glasses. Beau had thought he was old twelve years ago, he was probably ancient now. The guy had scared the ever-loving crap out of him when he was kid, but looking back, there was no-one who’d shown him more charity than the Doc. A tough word and a soft heart.Instead of the old boy, a curvaceous brunette stared at him with eyes the color of cinnamon. Her startled gaze caught and held his with stunning luminosity and a hint of familiarity in them. His automatic reaction to the sight of a beautiful woman was to smile, but she ducked her head and applied herself to serving the middle aged lady who struggled to keep a pair of lively young boys in hand.Zeke made straight for the counter, leaned his elbow on it and cupped his chin in his hand while he stared at the delicious, buxom morsel on the opposite side. With a flick of her hair, she lifted her nose and ignored him completely while she addressed her customer.“Thank you Mrs. Porter, I hope it helps.”She gave a stiff smile while she kept her attention on the older lady who scrabbled with her package and hastened her two boys from the shop as though she believed Zeke’s wild boy attitude was contagious. Beau glanced at Zeke who stared with puppy dog eyes at the assistant. Perhaps it was.“Hey, kitty cat.”Beau tried not to roll his eyes, but his brother was so predictable, his deep Irish voice smoothed the way for the next woman to take her place between his sheets.“Zeke.” All cool business, the woman raised an eyebrow and Beau sidled in closer, unable to resist the soft curve of her mouth, the wide invitation of her eyes.“What can I help you with today?” The slow roll of her husky voice gave his breath a sharp hitch.Beau imagined she’d practiced the line so many times in an attempt to avoid all the connotations and interpretations his bad brother could spin on it. Still, Zeke leaned in, gave her his undivided attention and a wolfish grin, “I need a party pack. What would you recommend?”She drew in a long breath through her delicate nostrils and Beau watched with increasing interest as her ample bosom expanded. She blew out through beautifully sculptured lips and his mouth watered.“Zeke, I think you know we don’t carry adequate stock for your requirements,” Beau almost spluttered out his appreciation of her cheerful rejoinder, but she held up one long, elegant finger “…but I can offer you these.”As she turned to the shelf behind her and bent over to reach the condoms, Beau stretched onto his toes to get a good look at her over the counter. The rounded globes of her ass were nicely enhanced by the tight stretch of her black skirt. His pulse kicked up and he gave an uneasy swallow. He lowered himself back down as she straightened and turned. The quick flick of her gaze caught his again before she gave her attention to his brother.“Here you go, Zeke. I placed a special order just for you.”A soft choking sound came from Zeke as he picked the blue box up from the counter. Face blank, the pretty assistant stood stock still. The only giveaway was a rapid blink of her eyes as she waited patiently.“You are an evil woman.” Zeke managed to splutter out as he studied the box, then waggled the condoms at her. “I have never bought extra small condoms in my life.”Unmoved, the corner of her mouth kicked up in a small smile that dimpled her soft rounded cheek. Beau crossed his arms over his chest and leaned his shoulder against the display rack to better appreciate the show. It had been a long time since he’d witnessed someone get the better of his younger brother. He may have been away for a while, but he imagined from the darkened stain on Zeke’s cheekbones it still didn’t happen often. From their exchange, it was plain the pair knew each other very well and took great enjoyment out of taunting each other. Her smile widened to light up her pretty face. Beau dropped his gaze to her cleavage as she leaned closer to his brother, to give a conspiratorial whisper, “Perhaps you should check you’re not putting yourself and your many partners at risk by using the wrong size.”Zeke slapped the package down on the counter and pointed to the shelf behind her. “Just give me the damned normal condoms.” She opened her eyes wide, tilted her head and gave an innocent blink sending Beau’s pulse rate into over-drive. He pushed away from the rack and stepped in closer to get a better view, but the woman’s attention centered on his brother as she fisted her hand and rested it on one curvy hip. The husky gurgle of her laughter warmed his belly.“But, Zeke, last time you came in here you demanded king size. Now you think normal will do?” She leaned forward, sympathy oozed as she raised her free hand to press it against her opulent breasts, and mock whispered, “Are you okay? Do you think you need to speak to the Doc?”Beau gave a wide grin, delighted to see his brother getting a run for his money from the delicious babe.“Did someone call?”

Paranormal Kitchen Actitivites

The sharp tang of citrus coated his tongue and made him swallow in rapid succession as his mouth watered. The babe was at it again. What was she baking tonight? Would he get a chance to scoop some of the makings out of the bowl?
Silent, he slipped into the kitchen, shifted into human form and studied the scene before him.Lemons, bright yellow, with a fresh zesty scent, not dissimilar to hers, only Catherine’s was overlaid with the sweet flavors of honey.
Butter and sugar were all measured out as Catherine scraped the rind off the lemons adding it into the bowl and setting the mixer to beat in a loud rhythm that disguised his approach.
Comfortable in his nakedness, he slipped his arms around her, snuggled her back into his chest, tucked his face into her neck and nuzzled. Nu uh, there was no better scent than Catherine.
“Whatcha making?”
She switched off the beaters, glanced at the almost white mixture.“Hot Lemon Pudding.” He let out a drawn out sigh of longing and kept his arms loose around her middle as she added beaten egg whites, flour, milk and egg yolks, and cut a firm figure of eight through the mixture until it was all blended.
She tried to turn, but he took full advantage while her hands were employed holding the dish. He took her face in his palms and smooched a kiss right from her.
“I need to put this in the oven, Beau,” but her voice was breathless.
“How long does it need to bake?”
He opened the oven door for her and let her slip the dish inside, pinned her against the warm oven and canoodled some more.
“Forty-five minutes.”
“That should be just about long enough.”
He dipped, pushed his shoulder into the softness of her belly, and gurgled with laughter at her surprised yelp while he gave her a fireman’s lift all the way to the bedroom.

Uriel's Fall, Ubiquity 1 - Loralie Hall

When I first released Uriel's Fall (Ubiquity #1), I was absolutely in love with the cover. Enough so that I kept the same theme going with Izrafel's Acceptance (Ubiquity #1.5). The thing is, I still love the original covers. But in talking to fans, I've realized they don't give the impression I want for this series.

So all of the books are getting a makeover. These are still the same urban fantasy books. Demons, angels, and the eternal struggle between heaven and hell going corporate. But now they've got a little bit of a different feeling to them.

So, if you're ready for the new look, it's just below...

Uriel's Fall

BlurbWhat’s a corporate demon to do, when the voice in her head is devouring her sanity from the inside out, and the hosts of heaven and hell would rather see her destroyed than surrender a power no one should possess?

Ronnie has the job any entry-level angel or demon would sell their soul for—she’s a retrieval analyst for the largest search engine in the world. Ubiquity is a joint initiative between heaven and hell. Because what better way to track all of humanity’s secrets, both good and bad, than direct access to their web browsing habits?

She might appreciate the position a little more if a) she could remember anything about her life before she started working at Ubiquity, b) the damned voice in her head would just shut up already, and c) her boss weren’t a complete control freak.

As she searches for solutions to the first two issues, and hopes the third will work itself out in performance reviews, she uncovers more petty backstabbing than an episode of Real Housewives, and a conspiracy as old as Lucifer’s descent from heaven. On top of all that, if she forgets the cover sheet on her TPS report one more time, she’s absolutely going on final written warning.

Now Ronnie’s struggling to keep her sanity and job, while stopping the voice in her head from stealing her life. She almost misses the boredom of retrieval analysis at Ubiquity.

Almost.

Cover Reveal for To Eternity by Daisy Banks

Thank you so much, Diane, for offering me a chance to share my forthcoming release To Eternity due out on 5thof January next year. I am keen to share the cover with everyone and very excited that this story will be out soon. I love the intensity of this art work for To Eternity the sequel to Timeless.
To Eternity taught me some interesting lessons in the writing process as I explored the tale. Out of Time the next book in the series is now in progress.
To Eternity Book 2 in the Timeless Series

Wild beneath the moon…
For centuries Magnus has lived according to the dictates of the moon, his heart isolated by the domination of his wolf nature. Now fate has brought the beautiful, independent Sian to his house at Darnwell and their irresistible attraction has exploded into a white-hot passion. Yet she is not wolf, and the time has come for her to embrace the change. But once she completes the ritual and claims her place next to Magnus, the rivals will appear on the horizon…
Excerpt from Chapter 1 of To Eternity.
Thank God. No claws.
Magnus examined his hand, a man’s hand, before he clasped Sian’s offered palm and met the massive dark pupils in her gaze as she set the padlock down. Naked, grimed by the process of transformation, he used her help to haul himself up from the floor. She slipped the silver necklace with the key to his chains inside her shirt. He grimaced as he wiped the scraps of crusty dust left after his transformation from his arms. October’s full moon had proved nothing like the last. This time there was no delightful shared dream.
Instead, Sian had met more of the wolf he carried within him.
Heaven help him, tonight she bore an injury to attest an encounter he couldn’t recall. God.
He gritted his teeth. His gaze fixed on her. “What happened?” He nodded to her bandaged arm dreading her answer. “How did you get hurt?”
“Here, Magnus.” Sian draped a warm robe around his shoulders. “I’m fine.” She glanced to her arm. “This, it’s not more than a scratch.”
He staggered away from the cage, where the beast spent his days, leaning on her for support. “I scratched you?” he managed to ask, begging for confirmation of his fears.
“It was my fault. I got too close to the bars. We’ll get you to the bathroom, then I’ll go make us something to eat.”
He dragged one slow step after another. Sian slipped her arm around his waist, and with her help, he made it along the corridor to the bathroom. She opened the faucet on the bath while he drank two glasses of water. All the time, he kept his gaze on her.
“You bathe, I’ll go cook. Please, Magnus, don’t worry.” She smiled. “We’ve survived this month’s full moon.”

To Eternity is the sequel to Timeless by Daisy Banks Published by Lyrical Press A Kensington Imprint.
TimelessBook one in the Timeless series.
Their love will be eternal, the legend says...if they survive.
Lonely and forced into a life of secrecy, four hundred-year-old Magnus finds Sian--the sexy music film producer who’s working in his house--tough to ignore. As she resists his alter ego when he invades her dreams to seduce her, her innate powers astound him and his need only grows. In dreams or reality, he’s determined to make her his. She is meant for him alone.
Independent, hard-working Sian has hopes and plans for the future that include the stately house at Darnwell. Not its aloof owner. She’s there to acquire the home for a video shoot, nothing more. By day, each layer she explores in Magnus’s grand old home with him leads her deeper into love. But by night, he seduces her in her dreams, gives her ecstasy like she’s never known. Then she learns his secret: Come the full moon, she is the only one who can control his wolf curse. First though, she has to survive it.

Excerpt
The car was well over the speed limit as she pelted along the hectic miles of road that wound through dense woodland to the gothic palace belonging to Count Johansson. She had to get there.
The compulsion intensified the closer she got. At last, the black gates came into view, and relief overcame apprehension, for a few seconds at least. Small stones spun, lumps zinging at her paintwork, as she sped up the drive. She slammed the brakes on and shot out of the car as fast as she could.
Today at least, no rain marred the view, but the place remained as though it lurked in the rich wealth of trees around it. Forgoing the antique doorknocker, she rang the bell and waited. “He can’t read my dreams,” she muttered, one last effort at her mantra. The knots in her stomach and the nagging need to see him didn’t dissipate.
Oh God.
Magnus opened the door, and his gaze locked on hers. He knew. She fought to remain standing, gripped the doorjamb for support. Not only did he know, but he wanted her to understand that he knew. The realization coiled around her tight as gaffer tape. His dark eyes held the calculating flash of hunting yellow, and she stifled the urge to run, to race away as fast as she could...with the prayer he’d follow and capture her.
“Sorry I’m late again,” she said, breathed in his cologne, and tried to catch hold of her sanity.
“Good morning, Miss Armstrong,” he said. “I had the local radio on. I knew you’d be late with the accident. It’s caused a massive hold-up. I won’t ask if your journey was good. Where would you like to start today?”
Her mouth dried in anticipation. She’d like to start by tearing off the gray casual shirt he wore and raking her nails over the muscles it hid. Her heartbeat raced. She’d like to start by savaging his mouth, as he’d taken hers, by shoving him to the floor and straddling him. Wetness dampened her underwear. Then she’d open the zip on those jeans and find him hot and hard. She’d like to start now.
Timeless is available at all good outlets and will shortly be available as print on demand.

FLIRTING WITH FIRE - TARA QUAN

Hi Tara, its so good of you to visit today, come on in and pull up a chair.
I owe Diane a huge thank you for having me over today.
My paranormal romantic comedy, Flirting with Fire, was just released by Decadent Publishing. It features a clueless fire mage, his fed-up cat familiar, and Madame Eve’s renowned one-night stand service. On All Hallows’ Eve, this witch and warlock iron out the kinks of an outdated employment contract in a spectacularly fiery fashion (and once you read the blurb, my very odd description will make a lot more sense). In celebration, I’m giving away a $15 gift card. To enter, leave a comment here, and drop your details in the Rafflecopter widget (at the bottom of this post, assuming the code works, or at my website: TaraQuan.com/FlirtingwithFire)
Flirting with Fire (A Witch’s Night Out, 1)

Her lips pursed, [Cat Woman] stared down at him for a long moment. Then she muttered, “What the hell,” and dropped her very attractive behind onto the opposite seat. “So, this is your idea of an easy place to pick up chicks in costume?”
Not only was the question out of place, it bore an uncanny similarity to something he might have said to his cat. “Well…one in particular, I guess. What’s your name, by the way?”
“Cat.”
She had to be joking. Or she obfuscated on purpose. He decided on the latter. After all, keeping one’s identity hidden made for a great exit strategy. “Mine’s Leo.”
She lifted the leather menu and opened it, blocking his view of her face. “I know.”
Madame Eve must employ a double standard, revealing the identity of men and not women. Another possible theory was Jack had forged the card and kept the woman’s details a secret on purpose. Both explanations seemed plausible. “What else do you know about me?”
She flipped a page. “Everything.”
Talk about unfair. Cat Woman must have received an actual profile, complete with a photo and an option to decline the date. “It might not be all true.”
She tilted the menu forward an inch, revealing the top half of her masked face. “What?”
“The profile you read. Jack has a weird sense of humor. You shouldn’t trust any of it.”
Her eyelids lowered into a slight squint, something the non-human Cat he knew had a habit of doing whenever he forgot to grab his keys. “I don’t follow.”
“It’s obvious you received some basic information about me.” When she shook her head, he waved off the denial. “It’s not a big deal, but I thought I should tell you someone else filled everything out. Since I hadn’t been offered a file on you at all, we should pretend this is a normal date and start over.”
With a shrug and a swift nod, she put the menu down, pulled her gloves off, and reached an arm across the table. The smile she sent him made his stomach do an unsettling flip. “My name is Catalina Gato. I’m a maid, accountant, and shape-shifting witch with a clueless boss and very meddlesome sister.”
What a sense of humor. Considering her costume, cat burglar would have been funnier, but she deserved bonus points for saying it all with a straight face. He took her hand and fought the odd urge to grab her, kiss her silly, and tear her clothes off.
The candle’s flame changed from blue to white. Then the fire shot up in a straight line, six inches high. Another round of nervous clapping followed.
Their palms still touching, he frowned. “Someone here must love Halloween. These special effects are over the top, not to mention dangerous.”
She shook her head and broke contact. Hints of disbelief and resignation laced her bell-like laugh. “Do you think Gomez has recovered enough to send a waiter our way?”

Craving - Sofia Grey

Having just finished Craving by Sofia Grey I felt it only fair to let you all know what I thought of it. So, here is my review. Short, sweet and to the point.

No lightweight romance, Craving delves deep into the dark world of the paranormal, creating a compulsive story with threads winding through to bind the whole thing together and pull the reader in deep. A creative storyline, cleverly told.

Not normally a fan of first person stories, I was totally absorbed by Grey’s ARC which I’d requested after seeing some of her snippets. Pleased that I had, I think Ms Grey may well have convinced me that first person works. It certainly does here, and having already read another of the author’s books, I know that she is a master of her craft.

Highly recommended.
