No Puedes Conseguir el Sueño de Dios con Rencor

“Una persona muere próspera, muy cómoda y segura, la viva imagen de la salud, en excelente forma y llena de vigor. Otra persona muere en amarga pobreza, sin haber saboreado nunca de la buena vida”. Job 21:23-25 ​​(NTV)

Puede tener grandes sueños para tu familia, tu carrera y tu comunidad. Pero ninguno de esos sueños se acerca al sueño que Dios tiene para ti.

La Biblia nos dice: “Ningún ojo ha visto, ningún oído ha escuchado, ninguna mente ha imaginado lo que Dios tiene preparado para quienes lo aman” 1 Corintios 2:9 (NTV).

No puedes entrar en los sueños que Dios tiene para ti a menos que aprendas a salir de la prisión de la falta de perdón. No puedes entrar en esas oportunidades con rencor.

¿Por qué deberías perdonar a las personas que te han lastimado?

Porque Dios te ha perdonado.

Nunca necesitarás perdonar a nadie más de lo que Dios ya te ha perdonado a ti. Cuando llegas a la fe en Cristo, no solo obtienes el perdón de tus pecados. ¡Dios los borra por completo! No hay registro de ellos en ninguna parte.

Romanos 8:1-2 dice: “Por lo tanto, ya no hay condenación para los que pertenecen a Cristo Jesús; y porque ustedes pertenecen a él, el poder del Espíritu que da vida los ha libertado del poder del pecado, que lleva a la muerte” (NTV). Cuando no perdonas a las personas en tu vida, comienzas un círculo vicioso. Ese ciclo no terminará hasta que perdones a las personas que te han lastimado.

Perdona, porque el resentimiento te hará miserable.

Negarte a perdonar a alguien no lastima a la otra persona, te duele a ti. El resentimiento te hace miserable. Aferrarte a una herida es como beber veneno y esperar que mate a la persona que odias. Es posible que te estés aferrando al dolor causado por personas que ya no pueden hacerte daño. ¡No pueden lastimarte a menos que los dejes!

La Biblia dice: “Una persona muere próspera, muy cómoda y segura, la viva imagen de la salud, en excelente forma y llena de vigor. Otra persona muere en amarga pobreza, sin haber saboreado nunca de la buena vida” Job 21:23-25 (​​NTV).

Puedes ser feliz o aferrarte al dolor y amargarte. La decisión es tuya.

Perdona, porque necesitarás perdón en el futuro.

Nunca dejarás de cometer errores, porque eres humano. Necesitarás que te perdonen en el futuro, así que debes perdonar a los demás. Jesús enseñó: “Pero si te niegas a perdonar a los demás, tu Padre no perdonará tus pecados” Mateo 6:15 (NTV).

No puedes recibir lo que no estás dispuesto a dar.

Hoy es el día para comenzar a perdonar para que puedas sanar y avanzar hacia el sueño de Dios para tu vida.

Reflexiona sobre esto:

¿Cómo has visto a personas importantes para ti, ver sus vidas miserables por falta de perdón?¿Por qué crees que las personas a menudo eligen aferrarse a la amargura en lugar de abrazar la vida que Dios quiere que vivan?¿Cómo te ayuda comprender tu propia necesidad de perdón a perdonar más fácilmente a los demás?

La libertad de Dios está disponible para ti hoy

Dios prometió que para aquellos que creen en Jesús, no hay condenación. Él envió a Jesús para salvarte de tu pecado. Su muerte en la cruz pagó por cada mal que has hecho o harás. Y al sacrificarse por tus pecados y darte su justicia, Jesús hizo posible que tengas una relación con Dios, el Padre.

Y las buenas noticias de la Pascua no se detienen ahí. Dios también resucitó a Jesús de entre los muertos, demostrando Su poder sobre el pecado y la muerte. Y eso hace posible que pases la Eternidad con Él en el Cielo.

Si estás listo para entregar tu vida a Jesucristo, comienza con esta sencilla oración: “Querido Dios, sé que soy un pecador y te pido perdón. Creo que Jesucristo es tu Hijo. Creo que murió por mi pecado y que lo resucitaste. Quiero confiar en Él como mi Salvador y seguirlo como Señor, desde este día en adelante. Guía mi vida y ayúdame a hacer tu voluntad. You Need Resurrection Power

“I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.”

Ephesians 1:19-20 (NLT)

You can’t tap into a greater power than one that raises a dead man to new life.

That’s the power that Jesus displayed on the first Easter. It was the most powerful event in the history of the world. And all of that power is available to you.

That’s right—you have access to the same power that raised Jesus from the dead 2,000 years ago.

The Bible says, “I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 1:19-20 NLT)

Stop and think about that for a bit. Let that sink in. The power of the resurrection is yours for the taking.

The Bible reminds us that the resurrection of Jesus comes with a promise: “By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also” (1 Corinthians 6:14 NIV).

Because God raised Jesus from the dead, your last breath on this earth won’t mean the end of your existence.

You, too, can have resurrection power in your life. You don’t have to wait until your death to find new life.

Maybe you need a resurrection of your energy.

Maybe you need a resurrection of your marriage.

Maybe you need a resurrection of your dream.

Humans can resuscitate. Only God can resurrect. Your dead energy, dead marriage, or dead dream can’t be resurrected on your own power. You’re simply not strong enough.

Easter reminds us that God’s power is greater—far greater—than any problem you face today.

Libérate de la Prisión de Fingir

“Caminaré en libertad, porque me he dedicado a tus mandamientos”. Salmo 119:45 (NTV)

Pretender ser alguien que no eres es agotador, ¿no?

Demasiadas personas han pasado gran parte de sus vidas fingiendo que ya no recuerdan quiénes son en realidad. Han gastado toda su energía y esfuerzo tratando de fingir su camino en la vida, pensando que les dará la vida que quieren.

Si ese eres tú, entonces estás en una prisión de fingir. Y te has encerrado en esta prisión por dos razones principales.

Primero, estás tratando de complacer a las personas. La Biblia te dice que es una trampa: “Temer a la gente es una trampa peligrosa, pero confiar en el Señor significa seguridad” Proverbios 29:25 (NTV).

Segundo, sientes que necesitas ser perfecto para ser amado. Como nadie es perfecto, nunca te sentirás verdaderamente amado si el perfeccionismo te está atrapando. Lo compensas viviendo en un mundo ficticio, donde nunca cometes errores. Peor aún, como eres duro contigo mismo, también eres duro con los demás. Todos acaban en tu prisión.

Jesús dijo una vez algo de las personas que pretenden ser lo que no son: “A ustedes les encanta aparecer como personas rectas en público, pero Dios conoce el corazón. Lo que este mundo honra es detestable a los ojos de Dios” Lucas 16:15 (NTV).

¿Cuál es la cura para una vida de pretender ser algo que no eres?

Cambia tu enfoque a lo que Dios piensa. Dios es el único que te conoce completamente y te ama incondicionalmente. Si estás haciendo lo que Dios quiere, entonces estás haciendo lo correcto.

El salmista dice de este tipo de enfoque: “Caminaré en libertad, porque me he dedicado a tus mandamientos” Salmo 119:45 (NTV).

No necesitas estar pegado al celular para descubrir quién eres en realidad. Las redes sociales no pueden medir cuánto eres amado de verdad.

Solamente Dios puede decirte la verdad sobre quién eres, y eso te hará libre.

Reflexiona sobre esto:

¿Es suficiente para ti saber que Dios te ama y te acepta, sin importar lo que piensen los demás? ¿Por qué o por qué no?¿De qué manera cambiar tu enfoque a lo que Dios piensa te ayuda a evitar fingir?¿De qué manera las redes sociales te hacen más vulnerable a fingir?

 

La libertad de Dios está disponible para ti hoy

Because of Jesus, God Accepts You

“God says he will accept and acquit us—declare us ‘not guilty’—if we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, by coming to Christ, no matter who we are or what we have been like.”

Romans 3:22 (TLB)

Would you be surprised to know most people do not accept themselves? I’ve been in ministry now for over 40 years. I’ve talked to tens of thousands of people, and I’ve found that most people really don’t like themselves. They wish they were different. They wish they looked different. They wish they acted differently.

If you’re like most people, you don’t accept yourself—so you spend your life trying to find acceptance from other people.

And you don’t just work hard to get other people to accept you. You work to get God’s acceptance too. You know in your heart you have a big problem: God is perfect—but you’re not.

But there’s good news. God recognized the problem too and has a plan.

First, let’s make sure you understand the problem: God lives in a perfect place called heaven. And if he allowed imperfect people into a perfect place, it wouldn’t be perfect anymore.

Next, the plan: God’s plan is what is sometimes called “The Great Exchange.”

The Bible says, “God took the sinless Christ and poured into him our sins. Then, in exchange, he poured God’s goodness into us!” (2 Corinthians 5:21 TLB).

You’re not perfect, but Jesus is. So God says, “We’ll do an exchange here. Jesus will take your sins, and you’ll get his goodness in your life.”

Because of Christ’s death and resurrection, you don’t have to work to be good enough. Christ’s goodness makes you acceptable to God. And it will allow you to live with him one day in heaven, his perfect place. That’s quite a deal!

Many people feel trapped by their past. They say, “If you knew what I’ve done, you’d know I’ll never be acceptable to God.”

I don’t know what you’ve done, but God does—and he still accepts you: “God says he will accept and acquit us—declare us ‘not guilty’—if we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, by coming to Christ, no matter who we are or what we have been like” (Romans 3:22 TLB).

It’s time to stop living your life trying to be acceptable to God and to other people. Because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, you are acceptable.

Talk It Over

How have you worked to gain acceptance from other people? What have been the results?
In what ways are you tempted to work to earn God’s acceptance?
What practical difference does it make in your life to know that, because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, God accepts you?

Stop trying to be good enough for God!

No matter how hard you try, you will never be good enough for God. It’s impossible. That’s why you need Jesus. Are you ready to stop trying to earn God’s acceptance and, instead, accept his free gift of salvation? If you are, pray this prayer today:

“Dear God, I know that when I die I’m going to give an account of my life to you directly. I confess I have spent my life trying to earn acceptance from other people and from you. I know I have sinned against you, and I have lived by my plan, not yours. I want that to change, starting right now. I want to turn away from my sins toward you.

“Thank you for sending Jesus to die for all I’ve done wrong so I don’t have to pay the penalty. I know I can’t earn your forgiveness and acceptance. I know only your grace and Jesus’ goodness can save me, Lord.

“Jesus, thank you for loving me so much that you took all my guilt on yourself. You made me acceptable for heaven, and I humbly ask you to save me. I believe in you, Jesus. And I believe you will keep your promise to save me instantly, certainly, completely, and eternally. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Dios es la Puerta a la Libertad

“Yo soy la puerta; los que entren a través de mí serán salvos. Entrarán y saldrán libremente y encontrarán buenos pastos”. Juan 10:9 (NTV)

No es necesario estar tras las rejas para estar en prisión. ¿Por qué? Porque la prisión más común está en la mente.

Una relación puede ser una prisión cuando te hace sentir atrapado. La deuda puede ser una prisión sofocante de la que no crees que puedas escapar. Una tradición puede ser una prisión porque te encierra y no te deja abrazar la libertad que Dios quiere que tengas. Un recuerdo doloroso puede encerrarte tras las puertas de acero del dolor. La depresión, el cansancio y la vergüenza también pueden ser prisiones.

¡La buena noticia es que Dios quiere liberarte!

Dios quiere que seas libre. Cuando abre puertas, son caminos hacia algo bueno. Pero antes de que Dios pueda llevarte a donde quiere que vayas, tiene que sacarte de las prisiones en las que estás.

¿Cómo lo hace?

Primero, sacude las cosas. Cuando Pablo y sus amigos estaban en prisión en Hechos 16, Dios provocó un terremoto. A veces, Dios tiene que sacudir tus cimientos, particularmente tus creencias fundamentales, para sacarte también de la prisión. Él enviará un terremoto a tu vida para sacudir esas creencias para que estés listo para la libertad que Él quiere darte.

Segundo, te conecta con el poder de la resurrección. De eso se trata la Pascua. La resurrección de Jesús es el evento más poderoso de la historia. Dios pone ese poder a tu disposición todos los días.

Pablo dice en Efesios 1:19-20: “También pido en oración que entiendan la increíble grandeza del poder de Dios para nosotros, los que creemos en él. Es el mismo gran poder que levantó a Cristo de los muertos y lo sentó en el lugar de honor, a la derecha de Dios, en los lugares celestiales” (NTV).

El mismo poder que abrió la tumba de Jesús abrirá las puertas de la prisión que te están frenando. ¡Esa es la verdadera libertad! Solo tienes que creer y confiar en que Dios te proveerá de esta manera.

Durante los próximos tres días, compartiré tres maneras específicas en las que Jesús quiere traerte libertad.

Reflexiona sobre esto:

¿Por qué crees que Dios tiene que sacudir nuestras vidas para hacernos libres?¿Cuáles son algunas prisiones en las que te encuentras ahora de las que necesitas desesperadamente que Dios te libere?

¡La libertad de Dios está disponible para ti hoy!

Si estás listo para recibir a Jesucristo como Señor, ¡entonces no hay razón para esperar! Puedes hacer esta oración hoy:

“Padre, tú prometiste que para aquellos que creen en Jesús, no hay condenación. Tú enviaste a tu hijo Jesús para salvar al mundo, para salvarme a mí. Pero entiendo que las buenas noticias de la Pascua no se detienen ahí. También resucitaste a Jesús de entre los muertos, demostrando Tu poder sobre el pecado y la muerte. Y eso me hace posible pasar la Eternidad contigo en el Cielo.

¡Gracias por todo lo que has hecho por mí! Confieso mi pecado y acepto a Jesús como mi Salvador y Señor. Hoy te entrego cada parte de mi vida. Quiero usar el resto de mi vida para servirte. Te entrego mi vida y te pido que me salves y me aceptes en tu familia. En el nombre de Jesús oro. Amén”.

Why the Forgiven Don’t Have to Fear

“Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now!”

1 Peter 1:3-4 (MSG)

Fear is nothing new. It’s been with us from the very beginning!

Adam’s first recorded words in the Garden of Eden were, “I was afraid, and I hid.” Humans have been living in fear of God and each other ever since.

Fear is based on ignorance. That means truth is the only cure—and truth can only be found in God’s Word.

Jesus’ resurrection on the first Easter gives you five truths that demolish fear in your life. Yesterday, I shared the first two:

You know Jesus tells you the truth.You know death isn’t the end.

Third, you know God loves you extravagantly. God didn’t just send you a postcard with a note saying how much he loves you. He cared enough to send the very best—himself! When Jesus was dying on the cross with his arms outstretched, he was saying: “I love you this much.”

Fear and love cannot exist in the same place. The Bible tells us, “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear” (1 John 4:18 NIV). When you invite Christ into the front door of your heart, fear goes out the back door.

Fourth, you know God has a good plan for your life. When you open yourself up to God’s love, he takes care of your past, present, and future. Through the resurrection, your sins are forgiven, you get a purpose for living, and you get a home in heaven.

The Bible describes it like this: “Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now!” (1 Peter 1:3-4 MSG). You won’t get that kind of life anywhere else. You only get it through the power of Jesus’ resurrection.

Finally, you know God will take care of your needs. One of the reasons you struggle with fear is that you worry about tomorrow—and worry can’t change anything! It won’t add a single moment to your life, and it won’t solve a single problem.

But the resurrection guarantees that God will meet all of your needs—starting with your salvation—by providing you with the power of his resurrection. Paul writes, “I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 1:19-20 NLT).

This year, as you celebrate Easter, remind yourself that because Jesus was raised from the dead, you are no longer a prisoner to fear. That’s news so good that you have to share it!

Talk It Over

Is it sometimes difficult to believe that God has a good plan for your life? Why do you think this is so?

What need in your life should you ask God to meet with his resurrection power?

When you invite Christ into the front door of your heart, fear goes out the back door.

If you want to let go of your fear, start by praying this simple prayer: “Dear God, I'm tired of pretending and people-pleasing and the stress of trying to be perfect when I can't be. I'm tired of holding on to hurt and memories that continue to cause pain in my life. I’m tired of being afraid of rejection and afraid of letting people see who I really am. I want to let it all go.

“I believe your promise that there is no fear in love because your perfect love drives out fear. And I want you to drive the fear from my life.

“Lord, I bring you everything that has brought me shame, regret, resentment, and worry. I don't want to live that way anymore! I want to live a life of freedom, and I know that can only be found through your Son, Jesus Christ.

“Today, I confess my sin to you and ask you to forgive me. Thank you, Jesus, that you made a way for me to be forgiven and accepted because of what you did on the cross and your resurrection. I submit to you as Lord of my life and want to follow you for the rest of my life. Please fill me with your love and hope and help me to walk in faith, not fear. I ask this in your name. Amen.”

Por qué los que han sido Perdonados No Tienen que Temer

“Que toda la alabanza sea para Dios, el Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. Es por su gran misericordia que hemos nacido de nuevo, porque Dios levantó a Jesucristo de los muertos. Ahora vivimos con gran expectación y tenemos una herencia que no tiene precio, una herencia que está reservada en el cielo para ustedes, pura y sin mancha, que no puede cambiar ni deteriorarse”. 1 Pedro 1:3-4 (NTV)

El temor no es nada nuevo. ¡Ha estado con nosotros desde el principio!

En el Jardín del Edén, Adán se escondió de Dios y dijo: “Tuve miedo”. Los seres humanos han estado viviendo con miedo a Dios y a los demás desde entonces.

El temor se basa en la ignorancia. Eso significa que la verdad es la única cura, y la verdad solo se puede encontrar en la Palabra de Dios.

La resurrección de Jesús en la primera Pascua te da cinco verdades para vencer el temor en tu vida. Ayer, compartí los dos primeros:

Sabes que Jesús te dice la verdad.Sabes que la muerte no es el final.

Tercero, sabes que Dios te ama desmesuradamente. Dios no solo te envió una postal con una nota diciendo cuánto te ama. Se preocupó lo suficiente como para enviar lo mejor: ¡él mismo! Cuando Jesús estaba muriendo en la cruz con los brazos extendidos, estaba diciendo: “Te amo tanto”.

El temor y el amor no pueden existir en el mismo lugar. La Biblia nos dice: “En esa clase de amor no hay temor, porque el amor perfecto expulsa todo temor” 1 Juan 4:18a (NTV). Cuando invitas a Cristo a la puerta principal de tu corazón, el temor sale por la puerta de atrás.

Cuarto, sabes que Dios tiene un buen plan para tu vida. Cuando te abres al amor de Dios, Él se encarga de tu pasado, presente y futuro. Debido a la resurrección, tus pecados son perdonados, obtienes un propósito para vivir y obtienes un hogar en el cielo.

La Biblia lo describe así: “Que toda la alabanza sea para Dios, el Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. Es por su gran misericordia que hemos nacido de nuevo, porque Dios levantó a Jesucristo de los muertos. Ahora vivimos con gran expectación y tenemos una herencia que no tiene precio, una herencia que está reservada en el cielo para ustedes, pura y sin mancha, que no puede cambiar ni deteriorarse” 1 Pedro 1:3-4 (NTV). No obtendrás ese tipo de vida en ningún otro lugar. Solo lo obtienes a través del poder de la resurrección de Jesús.

Finalmente, quinto, sabes que Dios se hará cargo de tus necesidades. Una de las razones por las que luchas contra el temor es que te preocupas por el mañana, ¡y la preocupación no puede cambiar nada! No agregará un solo momento a tu vida, y no resolverá un solo problema.

Pero la resurrección garantiza que Dios suplirá todas tus necesidades, comenzando con tu salvación, brindándote el poder de Su resurrección. Pablo escribe: “También pido en oración que entiendan la increíble grandeza del poder de Dios para nosotros, los que creemos en él. Es el mismo gran poder que levantó a Cristo de los muertos y lo sentó en el lugar de honor, a la derecha de Dios, en los lugares celestiales” Efesios 1:19-20 (NTV).

Este año, mientras celebras la Pascua, recuerda que debido a que Jesús resucitó de entre los muertos, ya no eres un prisionero del temor. ¡Es una noticia tan buena que querrás compartirla!

Reflexiona sobre esto:

¿A veces es difícil creer que Dios tiene un buen plan para tu vida? ¿Por qué crees que esto es así?¿Por qué el temor a menudo se basa en la ignorancia?¿Qué necesidad en tu vida deberías pedirle a Dios para encontrarte con su poder de resurrección?

¿Estás cansado de ser oprimido por el temor?

No importa quién eres o de dónde eres. Si estás listo para entregar tu vida a Jesucristo, la puerta está abierta para ti.

Puedes hacer esta sencilla oración ahora mismo: “Querido Dios, estoy cansado de fingir y complacer a las personas y del estrés de tratar de ser perfecto cuando no puedo serlo. Estoy cansado de aferrarme a heridas y recuerdos que siguen causando dolor en mi vida. Estoy cansado del temor al rechazo y de ser conocido por esto. Quiero dejar ir todo.

Señor, entrego todo lo que me ha traído vergüenza, arrepentimiento, resentimiento y preocupación. ¡Ya no quiero vivir así! Quiero vivir una vida de libertad, y sé que eso solo se puede encontrar a través de tu Hijo, Jesucristo.

Hoy te confieso mi pecado y te pido que me perdones. Gracias, Jesús, porque abriste un camino para que yo fuera perdonado y aceptado por lo que hiciste en la cruz y tu resurrección. Me someto a ti como Señor de mi vida y quiero seguirte por el resto de mi vida. Por favor, lléname con tu amor y esperanza y ayúdame a caminar en fe, no en temor. Te pido esto en tu nombre. Amén”.

Resurrection Truths That Will Shatter Fear

“[Jesus] included everyone in his death so that everyone could also be included in his life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever lived on their own.”

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 (MSG)

The Bible is full of commands. But do you know what the most common one is?

Don’t be afraid. You’ll find it 365 times in Scripture—including several times in the Easter story. “Don’t be afraid” were the first words the angel told those who showed up at the tomb on Easter morning. They were also the first words Jesus spoke after the resurrection.

It’s no wonder why it’s a common theme of the Bible and in the Easter story: Fear is humanity’s most common problem.

You might not think you’re a fearful person. But if you think about it, you may realize that many of your decisions are based on fear, such as the fear of what people think of you and the fear of failure.

But Easter brings good news! Because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, you can now live without fear. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:14-15, “[Jesus] included everyone in his death so that everyone could also be included in his life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever lived on their own” (MSG).

When you live according to the resurrection of Christ, the Bible says you’re living a better life, a life where you’re free from fear.

In fact, there are five truths about the resurrection that will set you free from fear if you understand them. I’ll share these truths over the next two days.

First, you know Jesus tells you the truth. Throughout history many people have claimed to be God or the Messiah—but only one proved it. The Bible says, “[Jesus] was declared to be God’s Son with great power by rising from the dead” (Romans 1:4 NCV).

Without the resurrection, you couldn’t trust anything Jesus said. But you can trust what Jesus says about God, heaven, and everything else he taught because he rose from the dead like he said he would.

Second, you know death isn’t the end. Until Jesus rose from the dead, people didn’t know if there was life after death because there was no proof. Jesus changed that. The Bible tells us, “God raised the Lord Jesus from the dead, and we know that God will also raise us with Jesus” (2 Corinthians 4:14 NCV). You don’t need to fear death, because Jesus’ resurrection shows us that death isn’t the end of the story. It’s really the beginning of your best life—your eternal life in God’s presence.

Talk It Over

What are some of the fears that have held you back from the better life God has planned for you?

Are you tired of the imprisonment of fear?

God promises that he will drive out your fears as you follow him in faith. Pray this simple prayer right now: “Dear God, I'm tired of pretending and people-pleasing and the stress of trying to be perfect when I can't be. I'm tired of holding on to hurt and memories that continue to cause pain in my life. I’m tired of being afraid of rejection and afraid of letting people see who I really am. I want to let it all go.

“Lord, I bring you everything that has brought me shame, regret, resentment, and worry. I don't want to live that way anymore! I want to live a life of freedom, and I know that can only be found through your Son, Jesus Christ.

“Today, I confess my sin to you and ask you to forgive me. Thank you, Jesus, that you made a way for me to be forgiven and accepted because of what you did on the cross and your resurrection. I submit to you as Lord of my life and want to follow you for the rest of my life. Please fill me with your love and hope and help me to walk in faith. I ask that you drive away my fear with your perfect love. I ask this in your name. Amen.”

Verdades de la Resurrección que Destruyen el Temor

“Sea de una forma u otra, el amor de Cristo nos controla. Ya que creemos que Cristo murió por todos, también creemos que todos hemos muerto a nuestra vida antigua. Él murió por todos para que los que reciben la nueva vida de Cristo ya no vivan más para sí mismos. Más bien, vivirán para Cristo, quien murió y resucitó por ellos” 2 Corintios 5:14-15 (NTV)

La Biblia está llena de mandatos. Pero ¿sabes cuál es el más común?

“No temas”.

Lo encontrarás 365 veces en las Escrituras, incluso varias veces en la historia de Pascua. “No temas” fueron las primeras palabras que el ángel les dijo a los que se presentaron en la tumba en la mañana de Pascua. También fueron las primeras palabras que Jesús pronunció después de la resurrección.

No es de extrañar por qué es un tema común en la Biblia y la historia de Pascua: el temor es el problema más común de la humanidad.

Puede que pienses que no eres una persona temerosa. Pero rara vez te das cuenta de cuántas de tus decisiones se basan en el temor, como el temor a lo que las personas piensan de ti y el temor al fracaso.

¡Pero la Pascua trae buenas noticias! Gracias a la resurrección de Jesucristo, ahora puedes vivir sin temor. La Biblia dice en 2 Corintios 5:14-15, “Sea de una forma u otra, el amor de Cristo nos controla.  Ya que creemos que Cristo murió por todos, también creemos que todos hemos muerto a nuestra vida antigua. Él murió por todos para que los que reciben la nueva vida de Cristo ya no vivan más para sí mismos. Más bien, vivirán para Cristo, quien murió y resucitó por ellos” (NTV).

Cuando vives de acuerdo con la resurrección de Cristo, la Biblia dice que estás viviendo una vida mejor, una vida libre de temor.

De hecho, hay cinco verdades sobre la resurrección que te liberarán del temor si las comprendes. Compartiré estas verdades durante los próximos dos días.

Primero, sabes que Jesús te dice la verdad. A lo largo de la historia, muchas personas han afirmado ser Dios o el Mesías, pero solo una lo demostró. La Biblia dice: “Quedó demostrado que era el Hijo de Dios cuando fue resucitado de los muertos mediante el poder del Espíritu Santo. Él es Jesucristo nuestro Señor” Romanos 1:4 (NTV).

Sin la resurrección, no podrías confiar en nada de lo que dijo Jesús. Pero puedes confiar en lo que Jesús dice acerca de Dios, el cielo y todo lo demás que enseñó porque resucitó de entre los muertos como dijo que lo haría.

Cuando entiendes que Jesús dice la verdad y que puedes confiar en lo que dice, se vuelve más fácil dejar de lado tus temores.

Segundo, sabes que la muerte no es el final. Hasta que Jesús resucitó de entre los muertos, no sabías si había vida después de la muerte, porque no había pruebas. Jesús cambió eso. La Biblia nos dice: “Sabemos que Dios, quien resucitó al Señor  Jesús, también nos resucitará a nosotros con Jesús y nos presentará ante sí mismo junto con ustedes” 2 Corintios 4:14 (NTV).

No necesitas temer a la muerte, porque la resurrección de Jesús nos muestra que la muerte no es el final de la historia. Es realmente el comienzo de tu vida eterna en la presencia de Dios.

¡Aprender a vivir sin temor transformará tu vida ahora! Mañana compartiré tres verdades más que te ayudarán a vivir libre del temor.

Reflexiona sobre esto:

¿Cuáles son algunos de los temores que te impiden vivir la vida con propósito que Dios ha planeado para ti?¿Por qué crees que gran parte de nuestra vida está gobernada por el temor?¿Cómo sería para ti una vida sin temor? ¿Cómo afectaría tus interacciones diarias con otras personas?

God’s Goodness Lasts Forever

“I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”

Psalm 23:6 (NIV)

Of all the benefits of God’s goodness, only one lasts beyond your life on earth. The final verse of Psalm 23 expresses the ultimate example of God’s goodness: “I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever” (Psalm 23:6 NIV).

That means you don’t have to fear death—because death is not the end. God saves the best for last. Even if you have a tough life here on earth, if you have asked Jesus Christ to save you, you will dwell forever in the house of the Lord, where there’s no more sorrow, no more suffering, no more sin, no more sickness, no more sadness, no more problems, no more pain, and no more pressure. Heaven is unbelievable. God’s glory is waiting there for you.

The Bible teaches, “It is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:5-7).

Everything you’ve seen in movies about heaven is probably wrong. First, heaven is not nirvana, a dream, or a metaphorical attitude. Heaven is a physical place, not a state of being. It’s a permanent place that will last forever. And it is reserved only for God’s family.

Heaven is also not boring! We see a glimpse of heaven in Revelation 21, where we learn that we won’t just kick back and do nothing for eternity. A lot of the stuff you do here on earth is what you’ll be able to do in heaven. You’ll be able to eat in heaven, you’ll be able to sleep in heaven, you’ll party in heaven, talk, fellowship, pray, and sing—just to name a few. Heaven was created for you.  

There are only two things that you do on earth that you won’t do in heaven. First, in heaven you can’t sin; second, you can’t witness to a nonbeliever about Christ’s love and forgiveness because only God’s children are there. That’s why, once you become a believer, God does not take you instantly to heaven. He wants you to pass on the Good News of salvation and grace. The only reason you’re going to heaven is because somebody told you about the Gospel. Now it’s your turn to tell others.

There is so much to look forward to in heaven. We will worship God forever. We will be reunited with those who love Jesus. We will be rewarded for our faith, hope, and love. We will be assigned work that we enjoy doing.

What an awesome promise. What a good God!

Talk It Over

Who shared God’s grace and mercy with you? With whom have you shared the Good News?
What has God given you in this life? What are your talents? How can you use them for his glory?
Do you have a bucket list? How do you think all those things will compare to what you will experience in heaven?

Where will you spend eternity?

The Bible says you can only get to heaven by trusting in God’s Son, Jesus Christ. If you’re ready to commit your life to Jesus, start by praying this prayer:

“Dear God, you have promised that if I believe in your Son, Jesus Christ, everything I’ve ever done wrong will be forgiven, I will learn the purpose of my life, and you will accept me into your eternal home in heaven one day.

“I confess I have sinned, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died to take away my sins and that you raised him to life. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow him as Lord from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”
