No Hay Nada que no Puedas Llevar en Oración a Dios

“Si Dios no se guardó ni a su propio Hijo, sino que lo entregó por todos nosotros, ¿no nos dará también todo lo demás?”.   Romanos 8:32 (NTV)

Hay un programa de juegos en televisión clásico, llamado “hagamos un trato” que presenta un concepto simple: Eliges lo que hay detrás de una puerta 1, 2 o 3 y entonces haces un trato con el anfitrión.

En “hagamos un trato” de la eternidad, también hay tres puertas. Detrás de la puerta número 1: Has pecado, y eso significa que Dios, siendo perfecto, no puede permitirte entrar en su cielo perfecto. Rechazaste su oferta de limpiarte de tus pecados, así que vas al infierno. La puerta número 2: Has pecado, e intentas arreglarlo haciendo cosas buenas. Pero nunca serás lo suficientemente bueno para satisfacer la santidad de Dios —y seguirás por la eternidad separado de Él. La puerta número 3: Has aceptado los planes de Dios y has permitido que Jesús te limpie de tus pecados. Jesucristo dice, “Este es el trato: Yo tomaré toda tu culpa y pecado, y te daré toda mi justicia. Puedes entrar en la eternidad del cielo conmigo”.

¡Vaya trato!

De hecho, esas son las buenas noticias. Solo estás obteniendo toda la bondad de Dios, porque todo ya ha sido pagado y es gratis —es un regalo que Dios te ofrece. ¿Por qué? Porque Dios es un Dios bueno. ¡Es el mejor trato que jamás podrás tener!

Romanos 4:25 dice que Jesús “fue entregado a la muerte por nuestros pecados y fue resucitado para que fuéramos aprobados por Dios” (PDT).

Entonces, ¿qué tiene que ver con la oración? Tiene todo que ver con la oración. Si no entiendes esto, nunca entenderás la oración.

Lo que Dios hizo por ti en la cruz hace posible la oración.

La Biblia dice, “Si Dios no se guardó ni a su propio Hijo, sino que lo entregó por todos nosotros, ¿no nos dará también todo lo demás?”  Romanos 8:32 (NTV).

¿No ves la lógica de este versículo? Cuando Jesucristo murió por ti en la cruz, Él resolvió tu problema más grande. Así que, ¡cualquier otro problema que tengas en la vida es algo muy pequeño comparado con lo que Él ya hizo! Si Jesucristo, a causa de su bondad, murió por ti, ¿No crees que Él te ama lo suficiente para ayudarte con tus facturas, tu salud y tus relaciones? No hay nada que no puedas llevar en oración a Dios.

Si Jesús te ama suficiente para morir por ti, Él te ama suficiente para responder tu oración.

Reflexiona sobre esto:

¿Qué petición no has llevado a Dios debido a que piensas que es muy difícil?¿Cómo te acercarás ahora a Dios con tu petición a la luz de la cruz?¿Por qué alguien rechazaría el regalo gratuito que Dios ofrece de impartir su bondad en nosotros?

¿Has aceptado a Jesús como tu Señor y Salvador?

La Biblia dice que nos quedamos cortos respecto al estándar de perfección de Dios. Aun así, Dios todavía te ama —Incluso cuando hemos pecado y estamos equivocados. De hecho, Dios nos ama tanto que Él dio a su hijo Jesús, para limpiarnos de nuestros pecados, y para aceptarnos en la familia de Dios.

Si nunca has aceptado el amor de Dios ni has invitado a Jesús en tu corazón, quiero que tengas esa oportunidad ahora. Si las palabras de esta oración expresan lo que siente tu corazón, entonces permite que Dios las conozca al orarlas y como una forma de decirle “Sí” a Jesús.

“Querido Dios, no lo entiendo todo, pero te agradezco que me ames. Te agradezco que has estado para mí y que no enviaste a tu hijo a condenarme sino a salvarme.

Confieso que he pecado contra ti, y admito que necesito a Jesús como mi salvador. Quiero una relación con Jesús. Quiero seguirlo y hacer las cosas que Él me dice que haga.

Te pido que me salves de mi pasado, mis remordimientos, mis errores, mis pecados, mis hábitos, mis heridas y mis retrasos.

Te pido que me salves para tu propósito. Quiero saber por qué me pusiste en este planeta. Y quiero cumplir lo que me pidas que haga. Quiero aprender a amarte y a confiar en ti y estar en tu familia para siempre. En tu nombre hago esta oración, Amén”.

God Made You to Love You

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

John 3:16 (NLT)

God loves you so much that he sent Jesus on a mission of love with a message of love. The Bible doesn’t say God has love; it says God is love. Love is his nature; God is love.

God created the entire universe. He created this planet, and he created the human race. Then he created you because he loves you.

God made you so he could love you and so that you could love him. God’s love for you is the reason your heart’s beating right now; it’s the reason you’re breathing.

God’s good news is that he loves you on your bad days just as much as he loves you on your good days. He loves you when you can feel his love, and he loves you when you can’t seem to feel his love. He loves you regardless of whether or not you think you deserve his love.

There is nothing you can do that will make God stop loving you. You could try, but you simply can’t do it—because his love for you is based upon his character and not on anything you do, say, or feel.

God loves you so much that he sent his only Son, Jesus, into this world, “so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16 NLT).

When Jesus stretched his arms out as wide as the cross, he was saying, “I love you this much! I love you so much it hurts. I love you so much I’ll die for you so that I won’t have to live without you.”

Ephesians 3 says God’s love is so wide, long, high, and deep that humans can’t fully understand it. As you go about your day today, know that God is loving you at every moment, no matter what.

Talk It Over

What one thing have you done that you have difficulty believing God loves you in spite of?
How important do you think it is to feel God’s love, especially on your bad or rough days?
Since God is love, how is his love part of your relationships? How do you express his love in your relationships?

Accept God’s love and forgiveness today.

God made you so that he could love you and you could love him. And he most clearly showed his love for you when Jesus died on the cross for your sins. Are you ready to repent of your sins and accept the forgiveness and love God is offering you? If so, pray this today:

“Dear God, I want to have a real, deep, and abiding faith in you. I confess that I have sinned and that I need your forgiveness and mercy. Thank you for loving me so much that you sent Jesus to die for my sins, so I can be forgiven.

“Jesus, you promised that anyone who believes in you will not perish but have everlasting life and eternity with you in heaven. I believe in you and accept you as my Lord and Savior. I want to follow you and spend the rest of my life serving you. Amen.”

Una Oración Diaria: Dios, Renuévanos

“Aparta mis ojos de cosas inútiles y dame vida mediante tu palabra . . . ¡Anhelo obedecer tus mandamientos! Renueva mi vida con tu bondad”. Salmo 119:37, 40 (NTV)

 La Biblia dice que Satanás no tiene miedo de tus planes. Él no tiene miedo de tu presupuesto o de tu estrategia. Y él no teme a tus programas.

Pero satanás tiene miedo hasta la muerte de tus oraciones, porque es ahí donde te conectas con Dios. Y Satanás sabe que cuando Dios quiere hacer algo realmente bueno en tu familia, en tu trabajo, en tu iglesia o en nuestra nación, Dios comienza por motivarte a orar.

Así que, si vas a comprometerte en aprender como orar efectivamente, ¡más vale que te abroches el cinturón de seguridad! Nuestros corazones necesitan un despertar espiritual. La iglesia necesita avivamiento. Nuestra nación necesita a Dios. Las cosas suceden cuando las personas comienzan a orar juntas.

Reflexiona sobre esto:

Mientras creces en esta área, quiero que comiences orando dos versículos cada día:

“Aparta mis ojos de cosas inútiles y dame vida mediante tu palabra … ¡Anhelo obedecer tus mandamientos! Renueva mi vida con tu bondad” Salmo 119:37, 40 (NTV).

“¡Restáuranos, oh Señor, y haz que regresemos a ti! ¡Devuélvenos la alegría que teníamos antes!” Lamentaciones 5:21 (NTV).

Ora y pide a Dios por tres cosas cada día mientras meditas en estos versículos: Renueva mi corazón, renueva mi familia en la iglesia y renueva nuestra nación.

Dios, tú eres bueno, ere un Padre bueno. Incluso cuando estoy en dolor, sigues siendo un buen Padre. Incluso cuando mis oraciones no son contestadas de la forma en la que quiero que sean respondidas, tú sigues siendo un buen Padre.

Ayúdame a recordar que tu plan para mi vida siempre es bueno y siempre debo elegir tu plan, no el mío. Ayúdame a recordar que tú siempre me das lo que necesito, no lo que merezco. Gracias porque no solo me has perdonado, sino también has derramado tu bondad en mí. Gracias por poner mi bien por encima de tu propio bien al morir por mí en la cruz. No escatimaste ni a tu propio hijo, así que puedo estar seguro de que me darás todo lo que necesite. Gracias por invitarme a vivir contigo por siempre en el cielo.

  Y señor, aunque a veces no siempre lo entiendo, gracias porque no dices “si” a cada petición en oración. Me doy cuenta de que tus caminos son más altos que los míos, y muchas cosas no entenderé hasta que esté contigo en la eternidad.

  Padre, renueva mi corazón. Renueva mi grupo pequeño y mi familia en la iglesia. Renueva nuestra nación, ¡Dios! Solo las personas que han cambiado pueden cambiar al mundo. Hago esta oración en el nombre de Jesús, Amén.

  ¿Has confiado en Jesús como tu salvador?

No importa lo que hayas hecho o donde hayas estado, puedes tener un lugar en la familia eterna, que está lista y esperando por ti. La invitación está hecha de par en par. Solo cree y recibe.

¿Estás listo? Esta es una oración con la que puedes comenzar:

“Querido Dios, yo sé que cuando muera voy a tener que dar cuenta de mi vida, directamente a ti. Confieso que te he ignorado. Sé que he pecado contra ti, y he vivido por mi plan y no el tuyo. Quiero cambiar, comenzando desde ahora. Quiero dejar mis pecados e ir hacia ti”.

Gracias por enviar a Jesús a morir por todo lo que he hecho mal en mi vida, para que no tenga que pagar la pena de estar separado eternamente de ti. Yo sé que no merezco tu perdón. Sé que solo tu gracia puede salvarme. Señor. Nunca seré lo suficientemente bueno para entrar en un lugar perfecto.

Jesús, gracias por amarme tanto que tomaste toda mi culpa sobre ti. Tú me hiciste aceptable para el cielo, y humildemente te pido que me salves. Te pido que me salves de los pecados y de los hábitos que están destruyendo mi vida justo ahora. Creo en ti, Jesús. Y creo que puedes mantener tu promesa de salvarme instantánea, segura, completa y eternamente. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén”.

How Much Did Your Forgiveness Cost?

“Through the blood of his Son, we are set free from our sins. God forgives our failures because of his overflowing kindness.”

Ephesians 1:7 (GW)

It may surprise you to read this, but it’s not the life of Jesus that saves you. You’re not saved by his teachings either. You’re saved through his death and Resurrection.

Jesus’ life gives you a good example to follow. And his teachings offer guidance and wisdom. But you need more than that. You need a Savior.

Why? The Bible says you’ve blown it. You’ve made mistakes. You’re not perfect. You don’t measure up to you own standards, much less God’s. You—just like every other human who’s ever lived—have sinned.

The Bible also says justice demands punishment. If you do the crime, you pay the time. If you break God’s laws, you pay God’s penalty. According to the Bible, “the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23 NLT).

In other words, somebody has to pay for all the things you’ve done wrong in life. And this is where God said, “I’ll do it!” He stepped up to the plate. Jesus Christ—God in human form—was sent to Earth. He said, in effect, “I will pay for your sins.”

His death and Resurrection opened the door for your salvation. When Jesus died on the cross, everything you’ve ever done wrong—and everything wrong you will ever do—was paid for. “Through the blood of his Son, we are set free from our sins. God forgives our failures because of his overflowing kindness” (Ephesians 1:7 GW).

Jesus dying on the cross for you showed two things:

1. How much your forgiveness cost. The highest price you can pay for anything is to give your life for it. That’s what Jesus did. Grace is free, but it is not cheap.

2. How much God values you. You matter so much to God that Jesus willingly died for you on the cross.

You may think you’re worthless because of things you’ve done wrong. But Jesus says, “No. You’re priceless. I was willing to give my life in order to pay for your sins.”

With his arms stretched out on the cross, it was as if Jesus was saying, “I’m willing to die for you, because you mean this much to me.”

A good example and wise teachings weren’t enough to cover your sin. You needed a Savior, and Jesus loved you enough to be that for you. If you haven’t accepted his salvation yet, now is the time.

Talk It Over

Some people value Jesus simply as a wise teacher or good example. Why are those things not adequate?
In what ways are you still making yourself pay for your sins, even when Jesus has already covered them with his death and Resurrection?
Jesus values you so much that he willingly died for you. How should this knowledge affect how you live your daily life?

Trust Jesus as Savior

You may have respected Jesus as a teacher or tried to follow his example—but have you trusted him as your Savior? If you’re ready to trust him today, pray this:

“Father, thank you for loving me and making it possible for me to spend eternity with you. I confess I don’t deserve it. I have sinned against you and lived according to my selfish desires. Because of my sin, I need a Savior. Thank you for sending Jesus to pay for my sins by dying in my place.

“Jesus, today I want to accept you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for releasing me from judgment and offering me a fresh start. Thank you for giving me eternal life. Most of all, thank you for loving me so much. Jesus, I want you to be my Lord, the manager of my life, from this day forward. Amen.”

Aprende a Ser un Mejor Oyente

“Como aguas profundas es el propósito en el corazón del hombre, pero el hombre de entendimiento logrará extraerlo”.   Proverbios 20:5 (RVA-2015)

Si quieres que tus oraciones sean efectivas, necesitas aprender a ser un buen oyente. ¿Por qué? Porque la oración es una conversación. Puede que tal vez no escuches la voz de Dios cuando oras, pero Él te está dando al Espíritu Santo y la Escritura para hacerte saber lo que Él quiere que vivas y te anima a ello. Sin embargo la mayoría de nosotros estamos tan ocupados, y hablando tanto, para realmente escuchar y entender lo que Dios —y otros— están intentando decirnos.

Puedes pensar que ya eres un buen oyente. ¡Pero hay una gran diferencia entre oír y escuchar! Oír son las simples vibraciones que ocurren en tu oído. Escuchar es como interpretas esas vibraciones en tu cerebro. Muchas veces he oído a mi esposa, mis hijos, o alguien más en la iglesia decir algo —pero no he escuchado.

Escuchar es una habilidad. Y si quieres ser efectivo en tu vida de oración —y en todas tus relaciones— debes desarrollarla. Aquí tienes cuatro consejos para ser un mejor oyente:

Evita juzgar y criticar desde el principio.

No evalúes hasta que hayas escuchado y comprendido todo. Admito que eso no es natural. Cuando alguien está hablando y estás escuchando algo con lo que estás en desacuerdo, estás tentado en decir, “¡alto! ¡detente! veamos eso”. Y nunca llegas más lejos. Entonces necesitas terminar de escuchar a la persona. Proverbios 18:13 dice “Es necio y vergonzoso responder antes de escuchar” (NVI). 

Mantén la calma.

No seas defensivo. La Biblia dice en Proverbios 19:11 “El buen juicio hace al hombre paciente; su gloria es pasar por alto la ofensa” (NVI). Si eres paciente, eres sabio. Necesitas ser paciente con personas que son menos maduras y aquellas que malinterpretan. Necesitas mantener la calma. 

Se un oyente activo.

Te conviertes en un buen oyente al hacer preguntas creativas. Proverbios 20:5 dice “Como aguas profundas es el propósito en el corazón del hombre, pero el hombre de entendimiento logrará extraerlo” (RVA-2015). Este versículo habla del verdadero significado de lo que hay en lo profundo de las personas. Una persona con entendimiento será capaz de captar en otros, con preguntas. 

Parafrasea y resume.

Para ser un buen oyente debes ser capaz de decirle a una persona lo que te acaba de decir antes de que digas lo que tú necesitas hablar. Antes de compartir tu lado de la historia, necesitas permitir que la otra persona sepa que entiendes lo que él o ella está diciendo. Parafrasea lo que te han dicho.

Jesus Frees You from Judgment

“Those who hear my words and believe in him who sent me have eternal life. They will not be judged.”

John 5:24 (GNT)

Have you ever imagined something like this? It’s the day of judgment. You’re standing outside the gates of heaven in a really long line. You slowly move forward, one step at a time.

As you get closer, you start to sweat and wonder, “Am I going to get in? Am I going to make it? Is God going to use a giant TV screen to show every stupid or evil thing I’ve ever done? Will my every sin be exposed?”

I have good news for you. The Bible says that those who believe in Jesus—his death and Resurrection—will not be judged (John 3:18). Jesus has promised you that.

In other words, when you get to heaven, Jesus will greet you with open arms. He’ll welcome you home because, as a believer, you belong to the family of God.

Jesus’ death and Resurrection release you from judgment. Is that good news? Oh, yeah!

When my friend Buddy was a child, his Sunday school teacher taught him God was sitting in heaven, writing down every bad thing that he ever did.

She made the class sing a song every week that went, “My Lord is writing all the time. Writing, writing, writing all the time.”

Buddy said, “It scared me. I just thought, ‘I’m never going to make it to heaven. My list is getting longer and longer.’”

Is that the way God treats you when put your faith in Christ? No! In fact, God is erasing, erasing, erasing all the time. Forgiving, forgiving, forgiving all the time. He’s sitting in heaven, hitting the “delete” button.

How do I know this? The Bible says: “God is love” (1 John 4:8 GNT), and love “keeps no record of wrongs” (1 Corinthians 13:5 NIV).

If you put your trust in Jesus Christ and his love, your sins are wiped away. God’s judgment is no longer something you need to fear. Because of Jesus’ death and Resurrection, you’re free from judgment.

Talk It Over

How do Christ’s death and Resurrection change how you view God’s judgment?
If God doesn’t keep a record of wrongs, why is it important to try to do the right thing?

There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus

The Bible says in John 3:18 that those who believe in Jesus—his death and Resurrection—will not be judged. Romans 8:1 says it in a different way: “There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1 NLT).

If you’re ready to accept that promise, to stop fearing God’s judgment, and to commit your life to Jesus, then pray this prayer:

“Dear Jesus, you have promised that if I believe in you, everything I’ve ever done wrong will be forgiven, and I will learn the purpose of my life. Instead of judging me, you will accept me into your eternal home in heaven one day.

“I confess my sin, and I believe you are God, my Savior. I receive you into my life as my Lord. Thank you that I don’t have to earn it, deserve it, or work for it. It is your gift of grace.

“Today I’m turning over every part of my life to you. I want to use the rest of my life to serve you instead of serving myself. I humbly commit my life to you, and I ask you to save me and accept me into your family. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

El Poder en la Oración Comienza Creyendo en la Bondad de Dios

“Ciertamente tu bondad y tu amor inagotable me seguirán todos los días de mi vida, y en la casa del Señor viviré por siempre”. S almo 23:6 (NTV)

Dios quiere que muestres Su bondad —y no solo mientras estás aquí en la tierra. Dios quiere que muestres Su bondad por siempre y siempre, por toda la eternidad. Porque Dios siempre es bueno, Él te invita a vivir con Él para siempre.

El Salmo 23:6 dice, “Ciertamente tu bondad y tu amor inagotable me seguirán todos los días de mi vida, y en la casa del Señor viviré por siempre” (NTV). ¡Qué Dios tan bueno para ofrecernos su bondad y luego prometernos la eternidad!

¿Por qué esto importa para tu vida de oración? Porque hasta que estés absolutamente convencido de que Dios es un buen Dios y que Él nunca hará nada malo en tu vida, tus oraciones carecerán de poder, pasión y sentido.

Por otro lado, cuando entiendas eso, no importa cómo te sientas y no importa cómo se vea la vida, Dios está a tu favor y no en tu contra; ese es un buen Dios y Él quiere lo mejor para ti, incluso más que tú mismo; y Él conoce lo que te haría feliz más que tú —cuando estas verdades se conviertan en el fundamento de todas tus oraciones, entonces tus oraciones serán poderosas, apasionadas y útiles.

Nada es más importante en tu vida que aprender como orar efectivamente. Es la forma en la que aprovechas el poder de Dios, la presencia de Dios, la paz de Dios, el propósito de Dios y el plan de Dios.

Así que, ¿qué quieres ver a Dios hacer en tu vida? ¿qué cosas le quieres pedir, creyendo en su buen propósito para ti? Con la bondad de Dios como tu fundamento, ¿Qué esperas con expectación que Él cumpla en ti y en el trabajo de tus manos?

Because of Jesus, God Accepts You

“God says he will accept and acquit us—declare us ‘not guilty’—if we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, by coming to Christ, no matter who we are or what we have been like.”

Romans 3:22 (TLB)

Would you be surprised to know most people do not accept themselves? I’ve been a pastor now for over 40 years. I’ve talked to tens of thousands of people, and I’ve found that most people really don’t like themselves. They wish they were different. They wish they looked different. They wish they acted differently.

If you’re like most people, you don’t accept yourself—so you spend your life trying to find acceptance among other people.

And you don’t just work hard to get other people to accept you. You work to get God’s acceptance too. You know in your heart you have a big problem: God is perfect—but you’re not.

But there’s good news. God recognized the problem too and has a plan.

First, let’s make sure you understand the problem: God lives in a perfect place called heaven. And if he allowed imperfect people into a perfect place, it wouldn’t be perfect anymore.

Next, the plan: God’s plan is what is sometimes called “The Great Exchange.”

The Bible says, “God took the sinless Christ and poured into him our sins. Then, in exchange, he poured God’s goodness into us!” (2 Corinthians 5:21 TLB).

You’re not perfect, but Jesus is. So God says, “We’ll do an exchange here. Jesus will take your sins, and you’ll get his goodness in your life.”

Because of Christ’s death and Resurrection, you don’t have to work to be good enough. Christ’s goodness makes you acceptable to God. And it will allow you to live with him one day in heaven, his perfect place. That’s quite a deal!

Many people feel trapped by their past. They say, “If you knew what I’ve done, you’d know I’ll never be acceptable to God.”

I don’t know what you’ve done, but God does—and he still accepts you: “God says he will accept and acquit us—declare us ‘not guilty’—if we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, by coming to Christ, no matter who we are or what we have been like” (Romans 3:22 TLB).

It’s time to stop living your life trying to be acceptable to God and to other people. Because of Jesus’ death and Resurrection, you are acceptable.

Talk It Over

How have you worked to gain acceptance from other people? What have been the results?
In what ways are you tempted to work to earn God’s acceptance?
What practical difference does it make in your life to know that, because of Jesus’ death and Resurrection, God accepts you?

Stop trying to be good enough for God!

No matter how hard you try, you will never be good enough for God. It’s impossible. That’s why you need Jesus. Are you ready to stop trying to earn God’s acceptance and, instead, accept his free gift of salvation? If you do, pray this prayer today:

“Dear God, I know that when I die I’m going to give an account of my life to you directly. I confess I have spent my life trying to earn acceptance from other people and from you. I know I have sinned against you, and I have lived by my plan, not yours. I want that to change, starting right now. I want to turn away from my sins toward you.

“Thank you for sending Jesus to die for all I’ve done wrong so I don’t have to pay the penalty. I know I can’t earn your forgiveness and acceptance. I know only your grace and Jesus’ goodness can save me, Lord.

“Jesus, thank you for loving me so much that you took all my guilt on yourself. You made me acceptable for heaven, and I humbly ask you to save me. I believe in you, Jesus. And I believe you will keep your promise to save me instantly, certainly, completely, and eternally. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

En Tu Dolor Como Confiar en el Tiempo de Dios

“Mis pensamientos no se parecen en nada a sus pensamientos —dice el Señor—   Y mis caminos están muy por encima de lo que pudieran imaginarse. Pues, así como los cielos están más altos que la tierra, así mis caminos están más altos que sus caminos y mis pensamientos, más altos que sus pensamientos”.
Isaías 55:8-9 (NTV)

El trabajo de Dios no es hacer que cada momento de tu vida sea fácil. Si lo hiciera, ¡nunca crecerías! Serías inmaduro, consentido, e increíblemente egoísta. Eso no es lo que Dios quiere para ti.

Así que, cuando estás en dolor y oras y no ves la respuesta, ¿te deberías rendir? No. Tu trabajo es seguir orando y seguir confiando que Dios responderá, porque sabes que todo lo que hace y todo lo que permite en tu vida, lo usará para bien. Debes aceptar como respuesta un “No”, “Más despacio”, “Crece” o “Adelante”, porque sabes que Dios es un buen padre incluso cuando estás en dolor.

Si una doctora te hace una cirugía y te abre, eso va a causar algo de dolor. Pero si esa cirugía salva tu vida, ¿dirías que es un mal doctor? No, ¡porque eso salvó tu vida!

Cuando Dios no elimina de inmediato tu dolor, Él está diciendo en ese momento, “Mi gracia es suficiente para ti, y tú puedes manejar un poco de dolor incluso mucho dolor en tu vida, porque estoy contigo y voy a usar esto para tu bien”.

He tenido mucho dolor en mi vida. De hecho, casi todo lo que he aprendido en la vida, lo he aprendido a través del dolor. No he aprendido nada del placer. He aprendido muy poco del éxito. Pero he aprendido mucho a través del dolor. Dios está más interesado en hacerme un hombre de Dios, que querer que yo esté cómodo. Y Dios está más interesado en hacerte un hombre o una mujer de Dios que querer tu comodidad. Estarás cómodo por toda la eternidad en el cielo, pero ahora, estás en la etapa de crecimiento, así qué no vas a obtener todo lo que pides.

En la escritura, leemos, “Mis pensamientos no se parecen en nada a sus pensamientos —dice el Señor—   Y mis caminos están muy por encima de lo que pudieran imaginarse. Pues, así como los cielos están más altos que la tierra, así mis caminos están más altos que sus caminos y mis pensamientos, más altos que sus pensamientos” (NTV).

Mientras estás orando en un nivel, Dios está pensando acerca de tu vida en un nivel mucho más alto, desde una perspectiva mucho mejor. Dios quiere el bien para tu vida incluso mucho más que tú mismo.

Why Does the Church Need Me?

“All of you together are Christ’s body, and each one of you is a part of it.”

1 Corinthians 12:27 (NLT)

One reason why you need to be connected to a church family is to fulfill your calling to serve other believers in practical ways. The Bible says, “All of you together are Christ’s body, and each one of you is a part of it” (1 Corinthians 12:27 NLT).

Your service is desperately needed in the body of Christ—just ask any local church! Each of us has a role to play, and every role is important. There is no small service to God; it all matters.

Likewise, there are no insignificant ministries in the church. Some are visible, while others are behind the scenes—but all are valuable. Small or hidden ministries often make the biggest difference.

In my home, the most important light is not the large chandelier in our dining room but the little night-light that keeps me from stubbing my toe when I get up in the dark. There is no correlation between size and significance. Every ministry matters because we are all dependent on each other to function.

What happens when one part of your body fails to function? You get sick. The rest of your body suffers. Imagine if your liver decided to start living for itself: “I’m tired! I don’t want to serve the body anymore! I want a year off just to be fed. I’ve got to do what’s best for me! Let some other part take over.”

What would happen? Your body would die. When Christians sit on the sidelines as spectators, instead of serving others, the church—the Body of Christ—suffers.

God calls you—as part of Christ’s body—to a service far beyond anything you could ever imagine. He created you for a life of good deeds, which he has already prepared for you to do (Ephesians 2:10). Whenever you serve others in any way, you are actually serving God.

Think of a time you needed to take a “break” from ministry. Why did you feel this way? How long did it last? What were the effects?
What gifts are you using to serve in your church? How are your gifts important to your church? If you haven’t been serving in your church, what gifts might God want you to start using?
In what ways can you show appreciation for the ministries—large and small—and ministers in your church?
