Entrégale tu Sueño a Jesús
“He aprendido el secreto de vivir en cualquier situación, sea con el estómago lleno o vacío, con mucho o con poco. Pues todo lo puedo hacer por medio de Cristo, quien me da las fuerzas”. Filipenses 4:12-13 (NTV)
Nunca podrás alcanzar tu sueño hasta que aprendas a renunciar. Suena contra-intuitivo, pero es cierto.
El rendir tu sueño a Jesús siempre es la decisión más segura que puedes hacer en lo que respecta a tu sueño. Dios toma típicamente tu sueño a través de seis etapas diferentes. Lo he visto cientos de veces en mi vida y miles de veces a lo largo de la vida de otros.
Etapa 1: Dios te da un sueño.Etapa 2: Decides ir tras el sueño.Etapa 3: Tu sueño se retrasa.Etapa 4: Tu sueño encuentra dificultades.Etapa 5: Tu sueño llega a un callejón sin salida.Etapa 6: Dios hace realidad tu sueño.A lo largo de cada una de estas etapas, estás trabajando en tu sueño mientras que Dios está obrando en ti. Más que nada, Dios quiere que confiemos en Él. El apóstol Pablo lo dice así: “He aprendido el secreto de vivir en cualquier situación, sea con el estómago lleno o vacío, con mucho o con poco. Pues todo lo puedo hacer por medio de Cristo, quien me da las fuerzas” Filipenses 4:12-13 (NTV).
La Biblia dice enfáticamente que tú puedes hacer cualquier cosa —con la ayuda de Dios. Necesitarás mucho más que pensamiento positivo mientras persigues tus sueños dados por Dios. Necesitarás el poder de Dios.
Mucha gente ha leído un libro motivacional tras otro y todavía no ha hecho progresos hacia sus sueños. Necesitamos la ayuda sobrenatural de Dios.
¿Has intentado navegar hacia tus sueños en tu propio poder? Si es así, te garantizo que no vas a llegar a ninguna parte — al menos en los sueños que realmente importan en tu vida. El viento está muerto.
Entrega tu sueño a Dios. Deja que Él los empodere.

Take the Next Step of Faith
“And Jesus said to him, ‘Go; your faith has made you well.’ And immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road."
Mark 10:52 (NASB)
I don’t know what step you need to take next, but I do know that you need to take it.
Your next step may be to accept Jesus Christ into your life or to be baptized. Maybe you need to join a church, get into a small group, tithe, find a ministry, go on a mission trip, or invite a friend to church.
I don’t know what your next step is, but I do know this: You have one. God will never be finished taking you deeper in faith. There is always a next step.
If you don’t take the next step, you’re going to get stuck in a rut. And the only difference between a grave and a rut is the length. If you don’t move forward in faith, you will die. Your heart will grow cold, and you will feel more distant from God. He isn’t going to help you with steps two, three, four, or five until you take step one.
If you’re asking God to help you with something, he may be asking you, “Why haven’t you done what I’ve already told you to do?” You may have been planning to do something. Stop planning and just do it.
For the last few days we’ve learned from Bartimaeus, a man who called out to Jesus in faith, believing that Jesus could heal him. Before Bartimaeus met Jesus, he was sitting beside the road. After he received his sight from the Lord, he “began following Him on the road” (Mark 10:52 NASB).
Which of those two phrases describes your life: sitting beside the road or following Jesus on the road? Which of those two lifestyles do you think is more fulfilling? Which do you think offers more joy, more meaning, and more satisfaction? Which one do you want to represent your life?
There’s only one way to follow Jesus on the road: Take the next step.
Faith is more than believing. Faith is more than thinking, talking, or having convictions about Jesus. Faith is action. It is movement; it is activity. Faith is something you do. In fact, the Bible says in James 2:14, “If people say they have faith, but do nothing, their faith is worth nothing” (NCV).
Where do you get the faith to make a fresh start? There’s only one source: Jesus Christ.
“Everything that we have—right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start—comes from God by way of Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 1:30 The Message).
Bartimaeus had no idea that Jesus Christ was going to pass his way that day. To him, it was just another day. But God gave him an unexpected opportunity that offered him a fresh start.
God is giving you the same opportunity. Don’t delay. Take your next step of faith before the opportunity passes you by.

Take the next step of salvation
Is the next step for you to accept Jesus into your life? No matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been, you’ve got a place in God’s forever family ready and waiting for you. The invitation is wide open. Just believe and receive.
Are you ready? Here’s a prayer you can start with: “Dear God, I know when I die, I’m going to give an account of my life to you. I know I have sinned against you, and I have lived by my plan, not yours. I want that to change, starting right now. I want to take the step of turning away from my sins and toward you.
“Thank you for sending Jesus to die for all that I’ve done wrong so that I don’t have to pay the penalty. I know I don’t deserve your forgiveness. I know only your grace can save me, Lord. I could never be good enough to get into a perfect place.
“Jesus, thank you for loving me so much that you took all my guilt on yourself. You made me acceptable for heaven, and I humbly ask you to save me. I believe in you, Jesus. And I believe you will keep your promise to save me instantly, certainly, completely, and eternally. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Elige Vivir tus Sueños
“Cada uno es responsable ante Dios de su propia conducta”. Gálatas 6:5 (TLA)
Las personas se enfrentan a sus sueños en una de estas tres maneras. Acusando, excusando o eligiendo.
Los que acusan ocupan toda su vida culpando a otros por no haber conseguido sus sueños. Los que se excusan, inventan justificaciones por las que no están viviendo sus sueños.
Los que eligen, hacen lo necesario para vivir sus sueños.
La Biblia dice que fuiste creado a imagen de Dios. La habilidad de elegir es la característica por excelencia que nos separa de los animales. Es uno de los regalos más grandes de Dios a la humanidad. Pero el libre albedrío significa que igualmente harás malas elecciones, y se vuelve también en la peor maldición.
Los que eligen toman la responsabilidad por sus elecciones y la dirección de sus vidas. Ellos no culpan a otros ni inventan excusas. La Biblia dice en Gálatas 6:5, “cada uno es responsable ante Dios de su propia conducta” (TLA).
En lugar de quejarte por los sueños que no has conseguido, toma la responsabilidad de lo que no has hecho. Tus buenas y malas elecciones tienen un mayor impacto en la posibilidad de obtener tus sueños que cualquier otra cosa.
He conocido a personas a las que no se les dio nada en la vida, pero que lograron mucho más allá de sus sueños. También he conocido a personas a las que se les dio todo lo que necesitaban y querían en bandeja de plata y, sin embargo, desperdiciaron sus vidas.
No puedes controlar tus circunstancias. Pero puedes controlar cómo respondes a esas circunstancias.
Proverbios 22:13 dice, “El haragán siempre pone pretextos” (TLA). No seas esa persona. Deja de poner excusas por tus sueños no realizados.
Toma la decisión hoy de hacer algo con los sueños que Dios te ha dado.

A Secret Faith Is a Shallow Faith
“Jesus asked him, ‘What do you want me to do for you?’ The blind man answered, ‘Teacher, I want to see.'"
Mark 10:51 (NCV)
When God gives you a goal, you need to go public with it. Announce your intention. State the change you want to make in your life. Explain what you’re asking God to do. You need to tell everybody, because a secret faith is a shallow faith.
Yesterday, we looked at the story of Bartimaeus, a man who was blind and unexpectedly encountered Jesus. When he realized Jesus was nearby, he cried out to get his attention. He demonstrated his faith publicly.
Mark 10:51 records Jesus’ reply: “Jesus asked him, ‘What do you want me to do for you?’ The blind man answered, ‘Teacher, I want to see’” (NCV).
Why in the world did Jesus ask this particular question? Surely he already knew what the man needed. The man was blind—a condition which, in that time and culture, made him an outcast with few options but to spend his days begging.
Still, Jesus walked over to the man and asked, “What do you want me to do for you?” Didn’t he already know what Bartimaeus needed? Couldn’t he read his mind, or even just see the man’s obvious need? Absolutely.
But Jesus asked the question for Bartimaeus’ benefit. By asking that question, he allowed Bartimaeus to publicly announce his faith. Bartimaeus said, “I want to see” (Mark 10:51 NCV). In other words, Bartimaeus wanted Jesus to heal him.
You don’t ask Jesus to heal you unless you believe he can do it. Bartimaeus believed Jesus was who he said he was—that Jesus could and would change him. It was a statement of faith.
Here’s the amazing thing. Jesus asks you the very same question: “What do you want me to do for you?” He asks it every day.
God wants to use you. He wants to bless you. He wants to do incredible things in your life. But when Jesus asks what he can do for you, you have to answer in faith.
How can you answer in faith? One way is by setting a goal. Every time you set a goal, it is actually a statement of faith.
You should also announce your goal publicly. The more people who know, the more support, encouragement, prayer, and accountability you’ll have. A public announcement also demonstrates the depth of your faith; if you want to make a major change in your life and you keep it to yourself, your faith is simply shallow.
As you announce your goal, remember that only God knows the future. So when you say, “I’m going to do this,” remember to add the phrase “if it’s God’s will.”
When Jesus asks you, “What do you want me to do for you?” be ready with your answer. And then be ready to publicly share it in faith.

If Jesus Christ were to come face to face with you right now and ask, “What do you want me to do for you?” how would you answer?
The first way God wants you to announce your faith is to be baptized. Baptism is a public announcement of your faith in Jesus Christ and a symbol of your new life in Christ. What steps do you need to take to be obedient to Christ in baptism?

¡Aprovecha el Momento!
“Tengan cuidado de cómo se comportan. Vivan como gente que piensa lo que hace, y no como tontos. Aprovechen cada oportunidad que tengan de hacer el bien”. Efesios 5:15-16 (TLA)
Todos tenemos sueños. Quizá has tenido un sueño específico desde que eras un niño, o quizá vino a ti recientemente. Los deseos, aspiraciones y ambiciones deben ser parte de nuestras vidas. Es posible que los hayas escondido en lo más profundo dentro de ti, pero por seguro tienes un sueño.
La pregunta no es si tienes un sueño, la pregunta es “¿Qué estás haciendo con tu sueño?”
La mayoría de los sueños nunca se hacen realidad. No es porque no seamos lo suficientemente inteligentes o extrovertidos o lo suficientemente espirituales. Por lo general, nuestros sueños no se hacen realidad, porque no estamos dispuestos a asumir los riesgos necesarios para alcanzarlos.
La Biblia comparte un triste comentario en una sola frase sobre un rey que no pudo alcanzar una aspiración importante en su vida: “El rey Josafat construyó barcos de carga para ir hasta Ofir a traer oro, pero los barcos nunca salieron porque se destrozaron en el puerto de Ezión Guéber” 1 Reyes 22:48 (PDT).
Es una tragedia que tu barco nunca llegue a tu vida y es una tragedia aun mayor que construyas un barco y que nunca zarpe. Imagínate la energía e inversión empleada por el rey Josafat. Él construyó una flota entera de barcos para ir tras el oro, y ni uno de ellos logró zarpar, nunca pudieron salir del puerto. Evidentemente se produjo una tormenta y, mientras estos barcos estaban en el puerto, se estrellaron contra las rocas y se destruyeron.
Algunas personas pasan toda su vida esperando que su barco llegue. Pero Dios no está esperando que tu barco llegue, Él está esperando que tu navegues tu barco fuera del puerto.
Conozco a un hombre que durante 30 años tuvo un sueño de iniciar un ministerio. Él hablaba del sueño, lo meditaba y lo planeaba. El invirtió una gran cantidad de tiempo en este sueño, pero nunca tomó el riesgo de hacer nada más por su sueño. Nunca navegó su barco fuera del puerto. Con el tiempo, el hombre murió —y lo mismo pasó con su sueño.
El antídoto de la Biblia para ese tipo de prolongación trágica es tan simple como un famoso eslogan, pero terriblemente difícil de aplicar en todo tiempo: “Just Do it”. “Simplemente Hazlo”.
La Biblia dice: “Tengan cuidado de cómo se comportan. Vivan como gente que piensa lo que hace, y no como tontos. Aprovechen cada oportunidad que tengan de hacer el bien” Efesios 5:15-16 (TLA).
La Biblia nos incentiva a aprovechar el momento y actuar ahora. Vivir una vida con sueños sin alcanzar, es una tragedia. Los barcos no fueron hechos para el puerto, fueron hechos para navegar el mar abierto.
Entonces, ¿estás listo para navegar?

Seize the Moment
“Jesus said, ‘No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God's kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day.’”
Luke 9:62 (The Message)
In Mark 10, a huge crowd was following Jesus as he left Jericho. A man named Bartimaeus was blind and begging by the roadside. When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus was nearby, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Mark 10:47 NIV)
When Bartimaeus had gotten up that morning, he had no idea that Jesus Christ was going to be passing by him that day. He thought it was just another ordinary day: same place, same cry for help, same situation.
But suddenly Jesus was there. Bartimaeus had no time to prepare or think through his response. It was just an opportunity that dropped in his lap. And he chose to seize the moment. He decided not to delay or procrastinate. He was going to do it—now.
That’s the first key to a fresh start in your life too: Whatever you’re going to do, do it now. Don’t say, “Next year I’m going to make a fresh start” or “Next month I’m going to make some changes” or “Tomorrow I’m going to make that a priority.” It’s now or never. Seize the moment!
Every day, we have opportunities for a fresh start, but we don’t take advantage of them. Why? We procrastinate.
Procrastination is a strange phenomenon. You think it will make your life easier when it actually does just the opposite. It’s a stress generator!
When you know the right thing to do, today is the time to do it. Don’t assume you can wait for tomorrow.
The Bible warns over and over about presuming upon tomorrow. I’m not guaranteed a tomorrow, and neither are you. Jesus said, “No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God’s kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day” (Luke 9:62 The Message).
You have no guarantee that you will live tomorrow. Whatever you’re going to do, you better do it now.
Is Jesus inviting you into a fresh start today? Don’t delay. Follow the example of Bartimaeus and seize the moment.

¿Tienes una Red de Seguridad de Dios?
“Vivan en armonía los unos con los otros; compartan penas y alegrías, practiquen el amor fraternal, sean compasivos y humildes”. 1 Pedro 3:8 (NVI)
Como pastor, veo diariamente situaciones que nadie nunca debería tener que pasar solo. Nadie nunca debería tener que esperar solo en el hospital mientras que un ser querido está en una cirugía de vida o muerte. Ninguna mujer debería tener que esperar sola por el informe del laboratorio en un embarazo problemático. Nadie nunca debería tener que esperar solo por noticias de un campo de batalla. Nadie nunca debería tener que estar solo en el borde de una tumba abierta. Nadie nunca debería tener que pasar la primera noche solo cuando su cónyuge acaba de irse.
Las tragedias y los tiempos difíciles de la vida son inevitables; cada uno de nosotros se enfrentará a ellos. Pero no necesitamos pasar solos por estas situaciones. Necesitamos la red de seguridad de Dios para ayudar a sostenernos en estos tiempos difíciles.
¿Cuál es la red de seguridad de Dios? Es un grupo de otros creyentes —Son un conjunto de personas que realmente están comprometidos contigo. Llamamos a este tipo de grupo una comunidad. Aquí está el plan de Dios para la comunidad: “Si uno de los miembros sufre, los demás comparten su sufrimiento” 1 Corintios 12:26 a (NVI). La comunidad es la respuesta de Dios a la desesperación.
Romanos 12:15 expresa una idea similar: “Gocémonos con los que se gozan y lloremos con los que lloran” (RVC).
La primera parte de este versículo es fácil. Cuando sucede algo bueno para alguien, es a menudo fácil unirse a la fiesta.
Pero cuando alguien está teniendo un momento difícil, puede parecer más complicado. Pero, en realidad, es muy sencillo. Cuando estás pasando por una crisis, no quieres consejos; lo que deseas es que alguien esté ahí para sentarse contigo, sostener tu mano, darte un abrazo, llorar contigo.
Como Pablo nos dice: “Por eso, anímense y edifíquense unos a otros” 1 Tesalonicenses 5:11 a (NVI). Alentar o animar a alguien, no significa tener que dar una charla o palabras de sabiduría. A veces, la mejor manera de animar a alguien es sólo sentarse en silencio, esperar y llorar con un amigo.
¿Tienes una red de seguridad de Dios? ¿Tienes un grupo de compañeros cristianos con los que sabes que puedes contar en tiempos difíciles de la vida? Si no, sal hoy y empieza a construir esas amistades. Los tiempos difíciles en la vida son inevitables, y sólo un necio pasaría por ellos sin estar preparado.

Only God’s Family Will Last
“To God be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus for all time, forever and ever! Amen."
Ephesians 3:21 (GNT)
For the last few days, we’ve looked at how you can glorify God. One of the greatest ways you can show God’s glory is by joining God’s family, the church.
The Bible says in Ephesians 3:21, “To God be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus for all time, forever and ever! Amen” (GNT).
Did you know that God’s family is the only thing that’s going to last for eternity? A thousand years from today, if the Earth is still here, there won’t be a Microsoft. There won’t be a Hollywood. There won’t be any of the things we’re used to today. In fact, the Bible promises that even heaven and Earth as we know them today won’t last forever; one day there will be a new heaven and new Earth.
But there will still be the family of God. When everything else is gone, God’s church will remain.
If God’s family is the only thing that will last forever, don’t you want to join it? Being part of God’s family, the church, has all kinds of benefits. A local church will love you and help you grow in biblical truth and knowledge. It’s a place where you can share your talents, and benefit from the abilities of others.
Joining a spiritual family will be one of the most significant things you do with your life. The church is making a difference in the world that is going to outlast your career, your hobbies, and every other thing you do.

Trabajando Juntos, Podemos Lograr Mucho Más

Efesios dice que Dios nos creó para buenas obras, y que tenía previsto de antemano lo que íbamos a estar haciendo en la vida. Sin embargo, Él no lo planeó para que lo hiciéramos solos. Necesitamos personas para trabajar juntos.
Tú sabes la sensación que se siente cuando se hace demasiado trabajo por nuestra propia cuenta. Terminamos agotados. ¿Por qué? Debido a que tú estás tratando de hacerlo solo, mientras que Dios nunca tuvo la intención de que fuera así.
En Eclesiastés 4:9 Dios nos dice que “Más valen dos que uno, pues trabajando unidos les va mejor a ambos” (PDT). Cuando se trabaja en equipo, producimos más. Además, ¡teniendo buenos compañeros de equipo junto a ti es mucho más divertido y menos agotador!
Imagínate lo siguiente: Cada uno de nosotros somos como un copo de nieve. Por nuestra cuenta, no podemos hacer una gran diferencia. Sin embargo, cuando un copo de nieve frágil se junta a otros copos de nieve, pueden detener el tráfico. Al igual que los copos de nieve, podemos hacer una gran diferencia si trabajamos juntos, cada uno de nosotros hacemos una pequeña parte.
¿Sabías que cuando trabajamos juntos aquí en la Tierra, en realidad estamos practicando para la eternidad? En el Cielo, todos vamos a tener que trabajar, pero cada uno de nosotros solo tendrá una pequeña parte de trabajo, por lo que nunca se sobrecargarán o cansarán. Nadie va a llevar una carga pesada, cada uno de nosotros hará su pequeña parte y todo el trabajo se completará.
Al caminar por la vida, recuerda que no debes hacer todo por tu cuenta. Necesitas que otras personas caminen a tu lado, pero también necesitas que otras personas trabajen a tu lado. Al compartir la carga de tu trabajo con otros cristianos, encontrarás que en realidad logran más para la gloria de Dios.

Your Gifts Are for Other People
“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another."
1 Peter 4:10 (NLT)
When we all use our abilities to help each other, God is glorified. The Bible says, “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another” (1 Peter 4:10 NLT).
God wired you to make a contribution. He didn’t give you talents and abilities for your benefit. They are for the benefit of other people. And, in turn, other people’s talents are for your benefit.
I am so grateful for people who are talented in areas where I’m not. For instance, I’m grateful for accountants—because I’m lousy at accounting! And I’m grateful for people who have mechanical abilities. I couldn’t fix a carburetor if I had to. I wouldn’t even know where it is!
Everybody has different talents.
One talent God has given me is taking the Word of God and making it clear for other people to understand. When I use that ability, you get blessed.
But here’s the point: You have talents too. How are you using them to bless others? If you’re not, when are you going to start?
When you don’t use the talent God gave you, other people get cheated. But when you use your talent and abilities to serve others, they’re blessed, and God is glorified.
