God’s Love Is Forever

“I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels won’t, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God’s love away. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, or where we are—high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean—nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us.”

Romans 8:38-39 (TLB)

No matter how bad life gets, you can rest in one important truth: God won’t stop loving you.

You’ll have things go right. You’ll have things go wrong. But God’s love will never end. You can count on that.

In fact, that truth should be one of the most important sources of joy in your life!

The Bible says it like this in Romans 8:38-39: “I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels won’t, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God’s love away. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, or where we are — high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean — nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us” (TLB).

That’s good news.

When you put your hand in God’s hand, he grabs it and won’t let go. God holds on to you with all he has.

When my kids were little, we went to the Grand Canyon. When we walked up to the edge, I grabbed the hands of my two youngest children, Josh and Matthew. Of course, they wanted to get closer to the edge than I wanted them to get. They tried to squirm and shake free, but I wouldn’t let go. I was their father, and I loved them. 

You’ll have times in your life when you’ll want to let go of God’s hand. You’ll want to give up your commitment to Christ when times get tough.

But God won’t let go of you—ever. Once you put your hand in his, it’s there to stay.

If you could earn your salvation, you could lose it the moment you stopped working for it. But you didn’t earn your relationship with God. It was a free gift. Once it has been given, it can’t be taken back.

That’s an unimaginable source of joy for any believer.

Talk It Over

God’s love will never end. In what ways does this truth bring you joy?
When have you been tempted to let go of God’s hand? How did he show his faithfulness to you during that time?
What worry or fear do you need to entrust to God in light of his great love for you?

Romans 8:39 promises, “Nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us” (TLB). Have you put your hand in God’s by trusting Jesus as your Savior? If you’re ready to commit your life to Jesus, then pray this prayer:

“Dear Jesus, you have promised that if I believe in you, everything I’ve ever done wrong will be forgiven, I will learn the purpose of my life, and you will accept me into your eternal home in heaven one day.

“I confess my sin, and I believe you are God, my Savior. I receive you into my life as my Lord. Today, I’m turning every part of my life over to you. I want to follow you and do what you tell me to do.

“Jesus, I am grateful for your love and your sacrifice that make it possible for me to join you in heaven. I know I don’t deserve it. And I thank you that I don’t have to earn or work for my salvation, because I know that is impossible. I believe that, once I accept your love and salvation, nothing can ever separate me from that.

“I want to use the rest of my life to serve you instead of serving myself. I humbly commit my life to you, and I ask you to save me and accept me into your family. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

Tres Beneficios de la Oposición

“Dios bendice a los que son perseguidos por hacer lo correcto, porque el reino del cielo les pertenece. Dios los bendice a ustedes cuando la gente les hace burla y los persigue y miente acerca de ustedes y dice toda clase de cosas malas en su contra porque son mis seguidores. ¡Alégrense! ¡Estén contentos, porque les espera una gran recompensa en el cielo!”. Mateo 5:10-12 (NTV)

Cuando te sientes presionado por el mundo porque amas a Jesús, necesitas recordar estas tres cosas:

La oposición puede hacerte más como Jesús.
Jesús dijo en Juan 15:18-20, “Si el mundo los odia, recuerden que a mí me odió primero. Si pertenecieran al mundo, el mundo los amaría como a uno de los suyos, pero ustedes ya no forman parte del mundo. Yo los elegí para que salieran del mundo, por eso el mundo los odia. ¿Recuerdan lo que les dije? “El esclavo no es superior a su amo”. Ya que me persiguieron a mí, también a ustedes los perseguirán. Y, si me hubieran escuchado a mí, también los escucharían a ustedes” (NTV).
Si vas a crecer y ser como Jesucristo, entonces tendrás que pasar por las cosas por las que Jesús pasó, incluyendo soledad, desánimo, estrés y tentación. ¿Por qué crees que Dios te va a librar de esas cosas si no libró a su propio hijo de sufrir tales cosas?La oposición va a profundizar tu fe.
Tu fe es como un músculo. Un músculo no crece sentándose en una silla y comiendo papas fritas. Un músculo crece al ser ejercitado, estirado y probado. Nunca vas a crecer un solo músculo si no hay un peso jalándolo en la dirección opuesta. Si no tienes oposición en tu vida, entonces tu fe no está creciendo. Los cristianos más fuertes en el mundo actual, son aquellos que su fe ha sido probada al máximo.
La Biblia dice en 1 Pedro 1:7 “Estas pruebas demostrarán que su fe es auténtica. Está siendo probada de la misma manera que el fuego prueba y purifica el oro, aunque la fe de ustedes es mucho más preciosa que el mismo oro. Entonces su fe, al permanecer firme en tantas pruebas, les traerá mucha alabanza, gloria y honra en el día que Jesucristo sea revelado a todo el mundo” (NTV).La oposición te dará recompensas eternas.
Mateo 5:10-12a dice, “Dios bendice a los que son perseguidos por hacer lo correcto, porque el reino del cielo les pertenece. Dios los bendice a ustedes cuando la gente les hace burla y los persigue y miente acerca de ustedes y dice toda clase de cosas malas en su contra porque son mis seguidores. ¡Alégrense! ¡Estén contentos, porque les espera una gran recompensa en el cielo!” (NTV).
Dios bendecirá a cualquiera que sea perseguido por Su causa. Nota que no serás premiado por ser rudo o desagradable. Si vives en una vida autosuficiente, cuando seas perseguido, no vas a ser un mártir; vas a ser un tonto. No serás recompensado por eso. Tu recompensa será por ser como Jesús. Cuando compartes tu fe, estás haciéndolo con gentileza y respeto, al igual que lo hizo Jesús, entonces serás recompensado por ello en el cielo un día.

Estas son las tres cosas que necesitas recordar siempre que seas acosado por tu fe: Te puede hacer más como Jesús. Puede incrementar tu fe. Y serás recompensado por ello en la eternidad.

God Can Use Your Mistakes for His Good

“We know that in all things God works for good with those who love him, those whom he has called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8:28 (GNT)

Let’s face it. You and I do foolish things from time to time. We make mistakes.

But nothing you’ll ever do is beyond the capacity of God to use. You may make mistakes, but God doesn’t.

The Bible says it like this in Romans 8:28: “We know that in all things God works for good with those who love him, those whom he has called according to his purpose” (GNT).

When you make a foolish mistake, God promises he can use it for good.

I want to be clear, though. This isn’t a promise for everyone. The verse doesn’t say that God works everything out for good for those living in rebellion against him or for those who aren’t living for his purposes.

The promise is for people who come to God and say, “I want to live for your purpose. I don’t always get it right. But I want to do the right thing. I want to trust you, and I want to follow you.” Do that, and God will take it all and use it for his good.

That’s a reason for joy.

When you put your life in his hands, it doesn’t mean you’ll never goof up again. You’ll still make bad decisions. You’ll still mess up. But God can fit it all into his plans.

There is no plan B for your life. God knew all the mistakes you’d make before you were born. He also knew he’d fit those mistakes into his plan.

That means you can relax. You can stop being anxious. You can rest. Do your best with what God has given you. He will work everything into his plan.

“I confess my sin, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you are God, my Savior. I receive you into my life as my Lord. Thank you that I don’t have to earn, deserve, or work for your forgiveness. It is your gift of grace.

“Today I’m turning over every part of my life to you. Instead of living in shame, I want to live in the joy of your salvation. I want to use the rest of my life to serve you instead of serving myself. I humbly commit my life to you, and I ask you to save me and accept me into your family. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

Para la Resolución de Conflictos ¡Cambia tu Enfoque!

“ Cada uno debe velar no solo por sus propios intereses, sino también por los intereses de los demás. La actitud de ustedes debe ser como la de Cristo Jesús ”. Filipenses 2:4-5 (NTV)

Cuando te encuentras con alguien para resolver un conflicto, primero tienes que confesar tu parte del problema. Después necesitas escuchar el dolor y la perspectiva de la otra persona.

Creemos que argumentamos sobre las ideas, pero en realidad argumentamos sobre emociones. Cada vez que hay un conflicto, alguien sale lastimado. Alguien se sintió abusado. Alguien se sintió despreciado. No son ideas las que causan el conflicto. Es la emoción detrás de la idea.

Personas heridas, hieren personas. Cuanto más sea lastimada una persona, más atacarán a los demás. Las personas que no están sufriendo no hieren a otros. Las personas que están llenas de amor son cariñosas con los demás. Las personas que están llenas de alegría son alegres con los demás. Las personas que están llenas de paz están en paz con todos los demás. Pero las personas que están llenas de heridas en el interior están lastimando a otros. Van a atacar.

Si deseas conectar con las personas, debes comenzar con sus necesidades, sus heridas y sus intereses. Si quieres ser un buen vendedor, no empieces con tu producto. Comienza con la necesidad de tu cliente, con sus aflicciones e intereses. Si quieres ser un buen profesor o pastor o cualquier otra cosa, empieza con las necesidades, aflicciones e intereses de las personas.

Filipenses 2:4-5 dice “Cada uno debe velar no solo por sus propios intereses, sino también por los intereses de los demás. La actitud de ustedes debe ser como la de Cristo Jesús” (NTV).

¿Estás a menudo tan ocupado tratando de lograr que las personas con quienes tienes un conflicto vean tu posición, que no estás escuchando la de ellos? ¿Estás demasiado ocupado hablando y no escuchando y como resultado, te alejas más y más?

Necesitas cambiar intencionadamente tu enfoque de tus necesidades a sus necesidades. La resolución de conflictos inicia con la forma de ver la situación. La palabra “velar” en Filipenses 2:4 es la palabra griega “scopos” como en “microscopio” y “Telescopio”. “Scopos” significa enfocar. El siguiente versículo dice que tu actitud debe ser la misma que la de Jesucristo. Eres más como Jesús cuando estás enfocado en las necesidades de los demás que en las tuyas propias.

Hay un viejo proverbio chino que dice: “Busca tratar de entender antes de ser entendido”. Cuando estás enfocado en las necesidades de la otra persona y no en las tuyas, serás capaz de obtener una mejor comprensión de la situación y avanzarás en la resolución de su conflicto.

Reflexiona sobre esto:  

¿Qué ejemplo dio Jesús para que nosotros velemos por los intereses de los demás?¿De qué maneras prácticas puedes mostrar preocupación por las necesidades de los demás?¿Cómo necesitas prepararte antes de entrar en la resolución de conflictos de manera que estés dispuesto a escuchar y a enfocarte en la otra persona?

Fear Not—God Is for You!

“What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?”

Romans 8:31 (NLT)

Psychologists have identified hundreds of fears that people can have. Fear is a universal problem—and it takes away your joy.

But here’s the good news: You don’t have to be afraid. You have God on your side!

The Bible reminds you, “What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” (Romans 8:31 NLT)

With God on your side, you don’t need anything else. God plus one equals a majority.

What’s your greatest fear? Is it embarrassment? Failure? Rejection? Disappointing others? Not fitting in?

Satan uses all of these fears to rob you of joy. He knows what will make you joyful, so he creates fears to oppose those things.

For example, Satan knows that obeying God will always bring you joy. So, he makes you afraid of what other people will think if you do the right thing. He makes you worry more about your popularity than pleasing God.

Satan also knows that one of the greatest sources of joy in life is when you share the love of Christ with an unbeliever. So, he makes you afraid to tell people about Jesus.

The truth is, to find joy, you need only one thing. You need to live for an audience of one: God. That’s Jesus’ path to complete and total joy.

He said, “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete” (John 15:11 NIV).

You can have joy in life, knowing that God is for you. Fear not!

El Primer paso Clave hacia la Resolución de Conflictos

“¿Por qué te fijas en la pajita que tiene tu hermano en el ojo, pero no te das cuenta de la viga que tienes tú en el tuyo? …Primero saca la viga de tu ojo y verás mejor para poder sacar la pajita de tu hermano”. Mateo 7:3, 5b (PDT)

Una de las más importantes destrezas prácticas que debes aprender en la vida es la resolución de conflictos. Si no lo haces, vas a tener una vida bien miserable, porque somos personas imperfectas y tenemos conflictos casi todos los días de nuestra vida.

Si vas a resolver conflictos, tendrás que tomar la iniciativa. Esto significa que vas a tener que pedir la ayuda de Dios, porque se requiere de valor para acercarse a alguien con quien estás en conflicto y decirle a esa persona que te quieres sentar con ella y arreglar la situación.

Luego, no vas a comenzar con lo que la otra persona ha hecho incorrectamente. No vas a comenzar con una lista de acusaciones o mostrando las formas en que tú has sido lastimado. Comienzas con lo que ha sido tu propia falta.

Puede que el conflicto sea 99.99 por ciento debido a fallas de la otra persona. ¡Pero tú siempre vas a encontrar algo que confesar! Puede que haya sido una respuesta inadecuada, incluso si surgió como una expresión de defensa. Pudo haber sido tu actitud. Hasta pudo ser la forma en que te fuiste del lugar.

En tu vida hay debilidades que otros ven claramente, mientras tú no te has dado ni cuenta. Esos son tus puntos ciegos. Tienes debilidades de las que no tienes la menor idea. Por eso es que debes llegar a la resolución del conflicto con un corazón humilde, y comenzar con tus propias faltas.

Jesús dijo: “¿Por qué te fijas en la pajita que tiene tu hermano en el ojo, pero no te das cuenta de la viga que tienes tú en el tuyo? …Primero saca la viga de tu ojo y verás mejor para poder sacar la pajita de tu hermano” Mateo 7:3, 5b (PDT).

Él está diciendo que debes confesar tu parte en el conflicto primero. ¿Cuál es la viga en tu ojo que te impide ver la situación con claridad? No empieces con la otra persona y las formas en que te ha lastimado hasta que hayas confesado tu parte en el conflicto.

¿Creaste conflicto por ser insensible? ¿o fuiste hipersensible? ¿no mostraste compasión por la persona que estaba siendo lastimada? ¿fuiste demasiado exigente? ¿cuáles son tus puntos ciegos? Una vez que has detectado tus problemas y los confiesas, estarás listo para el siguiente paso en la resolución del conflicto.

Reflexiona sobre esto :

¿Qué nos impide ver nuestro propio pecado con claridad?¿Cómo piensas que la otra persona resulta afectada cuando comienzas la resolución de un conflicto con confesión en vez de acusación?¿Cómo avanzarás para resolver los conflictos en tu vida? ¿Cómo tomarás la iniciativa?

Live in the Joy of Forgiveness

“My heart rejoices in your salvation.”

Psalm 13:5 (NIV)

If you’re a follower of Jesus, joy should be a way of life. Why? You’ve been completely forgiven. There’s no longer a reason for guilt or shame.

Sounds like a good reason for joy to me.

The Bible says, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1 NIV).

Romans 8 was originally written in Greek. The word translated “no” is the strongest possible negative in Greek. It’s as if God was saying, “No, no, no—not in a thousand years, not in a million years, not a chance in your lifetime.”

That’s important—because one of the biggest reasons people lose their joy is guilt. Guilt and shame have the power to steal your joy.

All of us make mistakes. But God doesn’t want you to live in self-condemnation, constantly telling yourself, “I should be better.”

So how does God want you to handle your guilt? By coming clean and confessing your wrong. Go to God and say, “I’m sorry. Please forgive me.” And then he’ll wipe away your sin.

Jesus Christ died on the cross so your sins would be forgiven and you’d no longer have to live with guilt! And he didn’t just die for the sins you’ve already committed. He also died for the ones you haven’t committed yet. They’re all covered under the cross.

Jesus took your condemnation. That’s why he died. Your sins have been paid for. You don’t have to pay for them again.

That’s salvation, and it’s your most important reason for joy. It’s the joy of a clear conscience.

You can experience the same joy as King David had when he wrote Psalm 13: “My heart rejoices in your salvation” (Psalm 13:5 NIV).

Seis Maneras para Mantener la Integridad

La integridad exige que cada área de tu vida sea tratada con la misma intensidad. Tienes el mismo compromiso de excelencia en tu matrimonio, como lo tienes en tu carrera. Tienes el mismo compromiso de excelencia en el ministerio, como lo tienes con la crianza de tus hijos.

Permíteme darte seis maneras de trabajar esta semana para convertirte en una persona de integridad. Te conviertes en una persona de integridad al…

Cumplir con tus promesas
Las personas de integridad mantienen su palabra. Si dicen que lo van a hacer, lo hacen. Si dicen que van a estar ahí, no faltan. La Biblia dice en Proverbios 25:14, “La persona que promete un regalo pero nunca lo da, es como las nubes y el viento que no traen lluvia” (NTV).Pagar tus cuentas
Tú puedes pensar que esto no es un gran problema, pero es un gran problema para Dios. ¿Gastas más dinero del que recibes? Eso es falta de integridad. ¿Estás en deuda por cosas que no puedes pagar? Eso es falta de integridad. Salmo 37:21 dice, “Los perversos piden prestado y nunca pagan” (NTV). Negarte a chismear
Dios está buscando hombres y mujeres de integridad que sepan guardar un secreto y que no lo publiquen en los medios sociales. No hables de las personas a sus espaldas. ¡Incluso no escuches chismes! “El chismoso anda contando secretos, pero los que son dignos de confianza, saben guardar una confidencia” Proverbios 11:13 (NTV). Dar el diezmo fielmente
Donde pones tu dinero primero, es lo más importante para ti. Malaquías 3:8-10 dice, ¿Debería el pueblo estafar a Dios? ¡Sin embargo, ustedes me han estafado! Pero ustedes preguntan: ¿Qué quieres decir? ¿Cuándo te hemos estafado? Me han robado los diezmos y ofrendas que me corresponden. …Traigan todos los diezmos al depósito del templo… Derramaré una bendición tan grande, que no tendrán suficiente espacio para guardarla. ¡Inténtenlo! ¡Pónganme a prueba!” (NTV).Hacer tu trabajo lo mejor que puedas
La Biblia dice en Colosenses 3:23, “Trabajen de buena gana en todo lo que hagan, como si fuera para el Señor y no para la gente” (NTV). Si eres un creyente, tu verdadero jefe es Dios, y si nadie más ve tu trabajo, Dios sí lo ve. Ser genuino con los demás
Una persona de integridad no actúa de una manera en la iglesia, de otra manera en el trabajo y de otra manera en el campo de golf. “Rechazamos todas las acciones vergonzosas y los métodos turbios. No tratamos de engañar a nadie ni de distorsionar la Palabra de Dios. Decimos la verdad delante de Dios y todos los que son sinceros, lo saben bien” 2 Corintios 4:2 (NTV).

¿Cómo impedir escuchar chismes?¿Qué promesas no has cumplido que necesitas cumplirlas por el bien de tu integridad?¿Cómo cambiarías la forma de actuar en el trabajo, si Dios estuviera sentado en la oficina de tu jefe llevando el control sobre tu trabajo?

When You Ask for Something, Believe God Will Answer

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Mark 11:24 (NIV)

If I gave you a check today for a thousand dollars, would you withhold your thanks until you knew it wouldn’t bounce? Anyone who knows me would think, “This is a pretty good guy. I can trust that he has enough in his account to cover it. I’ll thank him right now.” You’d thank me first—and then you’d take the check to the bank.

God’s promises are better than any of our promises. Before you even receive what he has promised, you can say, “Thank you, God. I know that what you promised will happen. You’ll do what you say you will do.”

There’s a great example of this in God’s “Faith Hall of Fame” in Hebrews 11. Remember how Joshua led the Israelites around Jericho, where the walls fell down? How did the walls fall down? Hebrews 11:30 says, “By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the army had marched around them for seven days” (NIV).

The people of Israel were going into the Promised Land, where the powerful city of Jericho was located. God promised he was going to let the Israelites into the city and then gave them his plan. It went something like this: “I want you to go and march around Jericho for seven days. Then on the seventh day, I want you to march around the city seven times, thanking me for the victory that’s going to come.” And when they did that, the walls just fell. God did what he’d promised! 

I’ve often thought, “What if I’d been one of those people marching around the walls for seven days?” Some of them must have been looking at the walls, getting more and more worried and wondering how God could ever bring the walls down. But a lot of those people had faith instead. And every day they looked at the wall and thought about what God could do and thanked him in advance.

This is the kind of life that God wants you to live, the thanking-God-in-advance kind of life. Jesus talked about it in Mark 11:24: “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (NIV).

When you ask God for something, why even ask if you don’t believe? It’s an empty exercise.

Jesus said that if you pray and ask God for something, you should believe he’s going to do it. Thank him in advance for what only he can do. And then look for how he answers your prayer.

Da el Primer paso a la Integridad

“Si oras a Dios y buscas el favor del Todopoderoso, si eres puro y vives con integridad, sin duda que él se levantará y devolverá la felicidad a tu hogar. Aunque comenzaste con poco, terminarás con mucho”. Job 8:5-7 (NTV)

Podría ser difícil para ti leer un mensaje acerca de la integridad, porque estás repitiendo en tu mente todas las veces que no lo lograste, todas las oportunidades que tenías para mostrar integridad y no lo hiciste, todos los fracasos morales en tu vida. Todos podríamos hacer una lista similar de fracasos.

San Agustín dijo que la confesión de malas obras es el comienzo de buenas obras.

Si tienes seriamente el deseo de convertirte en un hombre o mujer de integridad, el primer paso es admitir que tú no has tenido integridad.  Acabas de admitir que no siempre mantienes tus promesas. Frecuentemente te gusta el chisme. Algunas veces flojeas en el trabajo. Pretendes ser alguien quien no eres. ¡Solo admítelo a Dios!

Gran cantidad de personas segmentan sus vidas y piensan que pueden vivir con integridad cuando ellos están albergando el pecado en un área de su vida, siempre y cuando no afecte las otras áreas. Yo llamo a esto el mito del Titanic. Se suponía que el Titanic era el primer barco insumergible porque era la primera nave hecha para segmentar y compartimentar el casco. Teóricamente, si ingresaba agua en cierta área del barco, se cerraría las escotillas y no se hundiría todo el barco.

Pero amigos, cuando esto llega a tu vida, un agujero en el bote es un agujero en el bote y eventualmente te vas a ahogar. Esa pequeña área que tú piensas que la tienes  controlada eventualmente te hundirá. Y esto afectará a la gente que te rodea, porque mientras el pecado es personal, nunca es privado.

Ninguno de nosotros somos perfectos, Dios no espera que seas perfecto. Sin embargo, Él espera que tengas integridad y el punto de partida es confesar tus pecados —no importa que tan larga sea tu lista.

Dios está más interesado en tu corazón que en tus pecados. Nunca vas a ser perfecto. Nunca vas a estar sin pecados. Pero puedes pecar menos.

Esa es la elección de integridad.

¿Qué área de tu vida tienes separada de tu familia? ¿Cómo te ha afectado espiritualmente, emocionalmente y físicamente?¿Por qué piensas que Dios quiere que confieses tus pecados cuando Él ya los conoce?¿Cómo pueden tus pecados afectar a otros, aun cuando no lo saben?
