HOW TO Survive and cook fantastic Healthy meal when living alone - Bachelors Cuisine
All of u gone through or going through this face when we struggling find a solution having a good meal with out breaking our wallet.
Recently i have to face this situation when my family have to travel before me for a holiday back home India.
Im not a person who is very keen to dine out often one being the money you have to pay for the value you get . When you pay for a decent gourmet burger around 20$ . You can cook a best meal as per your liking for lunch and dinner.I got hooked with the idea of one pot cooking or one starch one protein cooking
My idea of food always revolve around fresh , simple and light food.
My wife loves traditional southindian parboiled rice. For me its too heavy . We southindians tends to eat more sort of this rice prety much all lunch and dinner No wonder you can spot a south indian man with a small pot belly.
Personally i hate pot belly for me thats sign of laziness . I started running daily and eating less rice now a days.
With all this in mind i started my journey of living a lone for few weeks.
I checked my wifes left over stock found some lentils , rice ( ofcourse) , lot of spices , few onions , garlic and chillies .
I love cooking when i have a luxury of buying ingredients with out spending my money.When i have to buy for myself i be more choosy to fit the bill.
Decided to put a schedule for things to do so im engaged without loosing focus or feeling sad missing family momentsI been more focused on being active and healthy .
I gone through my pending project list . Put my " starters by finediningindian " cookbook on toplist to publish.
Started running every alternate day and excercise for abs.
Inspired from my wife started drinking warm water with lemonjuice good for burning belly fat.
Breakfast
Thats an easy option one week i tried soy milk and other week Almond milk.With glutenfree cereals and drynuts raisins muesli.My best bet is almond milk i just loved it
Mostly i take breakfast after running on weekends and on weekdays before going to work.

Lunch
at work . Weekend started cooking
All lunch are from work place there also i prefere lean meat or fish with ine starch or green vegetable
Masala Tea time
I love the refreshing taste of tea when my wife is away i hardly had a beautiful tea. I m bit lazy to make tea . But when i make i prefer flavors and recipe what i do for masala tea is here
Few a time its best i try tea with a class masala omlette. In india we call masala omlette even though no real spices or masala in it. Its mainly called because if the ingredients we put in. Onion, tomato,greenchilly...A nice recipe what i used is here for you to try.
DINNER
Ay home for dinner my best bet for a quick dinner is always instant maggi noodles but i put my twist to it. Sometimes spicy sometimes with egg.
Leaving all controversy of additives they use in India i love it from my child hood days Some day i do pasta you can get dry or fresh pasta from stores and cook the sauce yourself than usung readymade sauce.
I tried few variations its easy to make few video recipes are here
One weeked i tried tandoori chicken I marinated and kept in fridge cooked from fresh ever time i had my dinner. It will keep at good quality in fridge for 3 days. Its best when you cook after 24 hoursTwo of my favorite recipenis given below
main thing i learned is how to appreciate my wife when she juggle all this alone while taking care of two young beautiful daughters
i salute all women who takes care of family - women are superior to men
i dedicate my learning experience of new found wisdom in managing time from my wife

Murgh ki peshani in hindi - Gizzard is the stomach of chicken with a thick tissue wall once cooked it has similar texture to a tongue of lamb or beef. it has a great texture and flavour . Here we adapted to traditional feral Thoran recipe with Gizzard. we have to clean ,cut and marinate chicken gizzard with spices and cook till its tender. simmer and allow the liquid to absorb . start start fry - thorn separate in a sauce pan and too in the cooked gizzard adjust seasoning and serve with slice of fresh coconut

Make BEETROOT HOPPERS onion Masala from our book STARTERS by Finediningindian
Beetroot Hoppers | Mushroom |onion |Garam masala
For Beetroot Hoppers
125 g raw white rice25 g grated red beetroot with out skin25 g cooked rice100 ml coconut milk5 g sugar2g dry yeast10 ml lukewarm waterSalt to tasteOil for cooking

200g button mushroom washed and diced50g fined chopped onion20 g diced onion same as diced mushroom size50g chopped fresh tomato10g oil1g ajwain (bishops weed) seed4g fine chopped ginger and garlic (equal part)1g turmeric powder5g coriander powder6g Kashmiri red chilli powder4g garam masala powder1g fine chopped coriander leaf2g salt
Method
For Beetroot Hoppers
Wash and soak raw white rice for 3–4 hours until it turns bright white. Drain and set aside. Grind raw and cooked rice in a blender with 100 ml coconut milk for 2 minutes add grated beetroot grind for another 3 minutes or till you get a grainy paste form.
Remove from blender dilute yeast with lukewarm water and sugar. Allow to proof for 5 minutes, and then add to the rice paste.add salt
Mix well and make sure the batter is of a smooth pouring consistency. Keep covered for another 2–3 hours and allow fermenting.
Before cooking, stir the batter. If it is thick, add milk or water to give it a thin pouring consistency.
Heat a non stick pan Pour one big spoon of batter into pan.
Cover and cook until the the batter remains firm and its not sticking if you insert a wooden toothpick inside . you need to cook only one side and the top part gets cooked by steam.Repeat the process with the remaining batter.
For mushroom Onion Masala
heat a thick bottom sauce pan with oil, add ajwain seed.after 30 seconds add chopped ginger and garlic , saute till it gets light golden colour
now add fine chopped onions sauce till its gets light brown color. add all powdered spices in the order mentioned above saute in between adding spices.
saute in mushrooms till it starts leaving water and gets soft reduce the heat add diced onion saute till the mixture is moist but thick . add salt and chopped coriander leaf
you can also add half lemon juice to get a spicy and tangy taste
For plating
bring both Hoppers and Mushroom to right temperature place on top of Hoppers cut in shapes. Garnish with coriander and edible flower as shown in picture
