I’ve met quite a few IR Romance authors on Facebook, and they’re all like celebrities to me so I get super excited when I can snag a sit down with one of them. I love when an author gives me a little bit of their time because I know for some, they don’t wanna talk to you unless you’re USA Today or something lol, but I digress…Here’s my convo with Roxy:
The IR Junkie: The first question I ask of all IR romance writers is, Why IR? And do you write IR romance exclusively?
Roxy Wilson: I have a friend who, in the summer of 2012, posted an article, “An Interracial Fix for Black Marriages,” on Facebook. I read it, and it resonated so much for me, that I started thinking about…

Worth the Risk: Celebrating HIV-Positive Characters in Romance #newrelease @indiebookpromos @ReadingRomance
I’m delighted that I’ve been given this wonderful opportunity to have my good friend and multi-published author, Stacy-Deanne, visiting me on my blog. She’s known for writing interracial romantic suspense and interracial contemporary romance. Today she’s here to talk about her newest release, Worth the Risk. It’s a story which deals with an issue that I’ve never read in a romance before–an HIV-positive heroine. I was one of the privileged few to receive an advanced copy of this book, and I’ll be posting my review of it shortly. But why wait to read my review? Just hop along to Amazon and 1-click it. It’s certainly “worth the read”.
So, without further ado, I’ll let Stacy get her time in the spotlight…
Hi All,
Stacy-Deanne (Dee-Anne) here and I want to share a bit about my new release, Worth the Risk!
About the Book:
Houston music critic Alvin Zak becomes smitten with violinist Madeline Deever from the first moment she lays her bow to her violin to perform a concerto. Sent to review the orchestra, Alvin becomes so enraptured by Madeline that he asks her if he can do a feature on her. The polite, yet elusive Madeline agrees to think it over while declining Alvin’s invitation for coffee. Alvin does not understand Madeline’s abrupt refusal to his invite and it makes him even more interested in getting close to her.
The last thing Madeline is looking for is love since she is harboring a secret that has the power to ruin any potential relationship. Convinced no man would love her enough to accept her situation, she fights off Alvin’s advances, but begins to fall in love with him.
Can Alvin convince Madeline to trust him and give into her feelings or is Madeline destined to spend her life alone?

Why I Wrote the Book:
Worth the Risk will always hold a special place in my heart. So far, it is probably the most important book I’ve written. I wrote it in honor of my cousin who has been living with HIV for over a decade. The type of person she is and the struggles she’s been through made me want to base a character of her. I also wrote the book because I feel that it is important for fiction, especially romance, to focus on people from all lifestyles. One thing my cousin has to deal with is finding friends and lovers who understand her situation. I wanted to write this book for others with HIV so that they have faith that they can find love and romance like everyone else.
Why I Feel the Book is Important:
I believe fiction should sometimes show the harsher side of life. I also think it is important that people have characters in which they can relate. People with HIV fall in love and are in relationships the same as others, yet we don’t see many romances focused on them. I don’t know why that is. Maybe some writers don’t know much about HIV and are intimidated to write about it. Maybe some writers feel like audiences would not want to read a romance with an HIV-positive character. All I can say is that so far, reactions from readers and reviewers have been positive toward my book. In fact, a Facebook Group influenced me to follow my heart and write this. I had someone tell me that no one would want to read about an HIV heroine, but when I asked about this I got so many others who said that wasn’t true. I like to follow my heart in my writing so I couldn’t let it go, so the story was born. This a lesson to all writers to listen to your heart. If you feel strongly about something, write it no matter what.
The Importance of Romance Books for Everyone:
As a black child, I didn’t have any books that centered on people like me. None of the children’s books I read and enjoyed had little black girls in them. I always thought about that.
When I was a teenager, I never saw romance books or many other books outside of literary fiction with blacks as characters or on covers. Romance especially weren’t being written for blacks. It was very hard for black authors to get their romances published. Until BET Books and Kimani came along, romance books rarely focused on blacks. I always thought about that.
Now, read what I just wrote and you’ll see why I feel it’s important to have books everyone can relate to. I feel this way because it’s something I’ve experienced. I wondered how many people with HIV who love romance novels ever go, “Hmm, wonder why they don’t write more romances for people like me?”
That is the question I had in my head when writing Worth the Risk and it made me more determined and proud for writing this story.
What I Hope Readers Get From This Book
What I hope people get from this book is simple, entertainment. I also hope that it expands the minds of people who don’t have firsthand experience with HIV or with those who have it. Worth the Risk is an interracial romance before anything else, except the heroine is living with an incurable disease. Madeline is still a woman with feelings and desires like any other woman. What I don’t want is for people to overlook the book because they are afraid of the subject matter. Once again, this is a romance above all else and I hope people see that.
Excerpt:
Madeline ran out the door and hurried down the sidewalk toward her dark-blue Mazda.
Come on!
She dug in her purse for her keys.
The last thing I need is anyone asking questions.
“Madeline?” Alvin busted out the door. “Madeline?” He ran up behind her. “Wait!”
She stopped and sighed.
What do I say if he asks why I’m here? Of course, I can tell him to fuck off but then what? I wake up and the next thing I know another feature of me will be in the magazine?
She turned around.
Hold on. Why the hell is he here?
“Hey.” He squinted. “You okay?”
“Why?” She held the prescription note behind her back. “Why wouldn’t I be okay?” She raised an eyebrow. “You saying I don’t look okay?”
“You look beautiful actually.”
Compliments.
She brushed her hair behind her ear.
I do like the way I feel when he looks at me. But, I can’t trust this man. He did a feature on me without my permission. Who does that?
She tilted her head.
I can’t lie and say I’m not a tiny bit attracted to him. Why does he like me though? Is he really interested in me or just my music?
“What are you doing here?” She avoided meeting his gaze.
“I’m here for my yearly checkup.” He swung his arms. “I gotta get my blood pressure medicine refilled.”
“You have high blood pressure?”
He rolled his eyes. “No, I just take the medicine because I like it.”
She grinned. “I guess your job can get stressful, huh? I’ve seen how some react when you give them bad reviews. I saw what that musician did to you on Twitter last year. I couldn’t deal with stuff like that.”
“No one likes a critic.” He clasped his hands in front of him. “That’s the nature of the job, but I love what I do. I love music, so that’s why I like to judge it and study it.” He gestured to her. “Why are you here?”
“I had to see my doctor.”
“Dr. Fox too?”
“No.” She crumpled up the prescription note. “It’s another doctor.”
“Oh.” He nodded. “Who?”
“Who?” She exhaled. “Is that really your business?”
He shrugged. “No, but I told you the name of my doctor.”
“Yeah, but I didn’t ask did I?”
His smile faded.
I hate being a bitch to him. He seems to be a nice guy but I can’t give him an inkling something can be between us when I know it’s impossible. Better to reject him now than hurt him later.
“Alvin, I told you I didn’t wanna see you again.”
“You don’t wanna see me because of the feature or something else? I’m sorry if doing the story hurt you. It wasn’t my intent.”
“Do you realize how many emails I’ve been getting since you wrote about me?” She touched her hair. “I mean…they’re nice and stuff but I didn’t want this to happen. You should’ve given me the choice.”
“I apologize, but I thought you’d be happy once you saw it.”
“Well, I wasn’t.” She held her arms to her sides. “I wasn’t.”
“I don’t know how to be with you.” He ran his fingers through his hair. “Things that I thought would impress women don’t work on you.”
“I don’t like games or tricks. I’d rather know off the bat what you want. No bullshitting.”
“Okay.” He swallowed. “I wanna go out with you, and I wanna know more about your music.”
She sighed.
“How about I give you a chance to tell your own story this time?” He touched her arm. “I really am sorry if the piece offended you.”
“It didn’t offend me. It was a very flattering feature but—”
“You didn’t want it?”
She nodded. “I don’t like people doing things behind my back.”
“You might be glad to know it’s gotten a lot of attention. I got people calling me asking me more about you and how to reach you.”
“I don’t want anyone to reach me.”
“Why, Madeline?” He moved closer. “You’ve got a wonderful gift that you share with the world, but you don’t wanna share yourself?”
“I can’t.” She closed her eyes. “I can’t share myself with anyone else again.”
“Including me?”
She looked into his eyes. “Especially you.”
Since I’m here I’d like to share about my upcoming September 13th release Empty coming from Sugar and Spice Press.

On Making Sure Your Characters Aren’t MIS-motivated by Love and Hate
Originally posted on Creative Writing with the Crimson League:

It’s so interesting how both love and hate can be symbolized by a blazing fire….
Today I want to start of series of posts on the forces that motivate characters, and I’d like to start with some reflections on topics that are often overdone, overemphasized, made cliche, or glossed over because they are such basic human emotions: love and hate.
I understand how cliche an author’s treatment of love and hatred can become in fiction. I understand it well enough that I feel like this post is a big risk. I worry that I can only give a cliche treatment of such a topic. So please bear with me. I think if we can cut through the cliche there’s a lot of consider.
The first thing that occurred to as a direction to take this post was the quote from BBC’s “Sherlock” that says:
Bitterness is a paralytic. Love is…

One Thing Authors Shouldn’t Leave Out of A Story’s “Big Moment”
Originally posted on Creative Writing with the Crimson League:

Just because a character is acting quickly, or must REact, doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a real motivation for the choice she makes.
Today’s post is about the big moments in fiction–the action-packed, “everything is changing because of what is happening” moments–and about one thing in particular that authors shouldn’t leave out when writing such a vital passage.
What inspired this post was reflecting on why I am not, in general, a huge fan of the Harry Potter films (especially the 3rd and 4th) when I love Rowling’s books as much as I do and they have impacted my life and writing as much as they have.
The answer, I realized, is particularly clear in the case of the fourth film, based upon the fourth HP book, “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.” (No spoiler alert necessary, I promise, though I assume that by now, most people who have…

AUTHORS: Is “Showing” versus “Telling” Truly Either-Or?
Originally posted on Creative Writing with the Crimson League:
Today I am continuing a series of post about opposites in fiction that writers often consider to be cases of “either-or” but in reality may be seen to be the ends of a spectrum instead.
By the very nature of saying that a spectrum exists, there is a whole line connecting the two “opposites,” and any particular case may fall anywhere on that line, combining qualities of each “purity” (represented by the end points) in varying degrees.
My last post examined philosophical versus action/plot-driven fiction as such a spectrum. Today, I wanted to explore the hot topic of “showing versus telling” as a spectrum.
Now, showing versus telling is such a hot topic that it honestly has become over-examined and even boring. The basic point everyone is always saying: Showing is better. Don’t “tell.” Demonstrate. Illustrate.
On a (very) simplified level, I think we all agree with this: show, don’t…

****
Hi All,
I have two new releases this month! Check them out and make sure you get them!
Chasing the Devil (Book #2 in the Devil Series) coming from Amira Press June 20:
Tate Valley, California Detectives Alexis Adams and her partner Penelope Dao embark on the most bizarre murder case of their careers when rich boy Donovan McCoy is shot to death while trying to rape 18 year-old Rose Malone on the beach just blocks away from Alexis’ home.
The investigation quickly spirals out of control when Donovan’s father Benson vows to take matters into his own hands if Alexis and Penelope don’t deliver results. Soon the detectives find themselves in a web of confusion and lies, and they wonder if they’ll ever get to the truth.
Meanwhile, Kevin and Alexis’ relationship turns hotter and heavier, yet the closer they get, trust continues to be an issue. Kevin wants to give Alexis the world, but she has to trust him enough to give him her heart in return.
Kevin promises to stand by Alexis’ side with her plan to expose Grant Copeland. But, chasing the devil could be hazardous to her health.
Excerpt:
Alexis walked down the dark halls of Copeland Enterprises later that night. She turned the corner, smiled at the maintenance man, and stopped at the parted door of Kevin Reed’s office.
There were no words for how crazy he made her lately. She’d be on a murder case, questioning a witness, yet all she could think about was being in his arms.
She closed her eyes and imagined smelling his cologne and getting lost in his captivating kisses.
They’d only made love six times and just when she thought she couldn’t come harder the next time or that she couldn’t get any wetter, her body proved her wrong.
She’d had desire for men before, but none satisfied that emotional and physical ache the way Kevin did. She’d never experienced this type of need or hunger for a man before.
She let go of her tingling breast.
Maybe Penelope was right. Maybe Kevin Reed was her soul mate.
“You just gonna stand there all night?” Kevin sat at his desk in another one of his famous designer shirts and ties. His shiny dark hair complimented the gray of his eyes.
His intoxicating cologne grabbed her from across the room.
Clive Christian 1872.
He loved that cologne and she loved it on him.
She could die in that scent.
“To what do I owe this pleasure?” He leaned back in the chair with his diamond watch catching the light.
She walked inside and closed the door. “I figured you were working late again.” She glanced around his office.
“Did you know I’m psychic?” His handsome face lit up. “I bet I can tell you what’s gonna happen in here.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. We’re gonna have the best…” He threw his pen down. “Sex you’ve ever had in your life.”
“Oh?” She tilted her head. “You think so?”
“Yep.” He stood. “First we’ll start on the desk, then we’ll end up against the wall.” He pointed to that empty space between the window and bookshelf. “And then we’ll end up on the floor.” He walked from behind the desk. “Tell me I’m not psychic.”
Alexis took her blazer off and laid it on one of the chairs in front of his desk. “Just because we can’t seem to be in the same room five minutes together without getting it on doesn’t mean the same thing’s gonna happen tonight.”
He leaned against the front of the desk with that devilish stare. “All I have to do is look at you and your clothes fall off.”
“Oh.” She laughed. “So it’s like that?”
“Oh yeah, it’s like that.”
That mesmerizing tingle hit her between the legs.
“So why don’t you come over here?” He held out his arms. “Or do I have to chase you around this room?”
“I have to tell you something. It’s serious.”
Kevin put his arms down.
“Donovan McCoy, Benson’s son, was killed a few hours ago.”
“What?”
“I just came from the McCoys’.” She walked around. “I don’t know what I hate about being a homicide detective more, finding someone dead or telling the loved ones.”
“What the hell happened?”
“It happened on the beach down from my place. Donovan tried to rape Rose Malone.”
“What?” He breathed into his palm. “That’s horrible. Rose is such a sweet girl. How old is she now?”
“Eighteen.”
Kevin grimaced and shook his head. “This might be fucked up to say, but Donovan was an asshole just like his dad is.”
“What do you mean?” She walked back over to him.
“He was one of those guys who thought because his parents were rich that he could treat people like shit. Benson’s the same way. He’s always thought his money made him invincible or better than everyone.”
“You mean like Grant?”
Kevin leaned to one side. “It’s horrible that Donovan would do something like that to someone as sweet as Rose. She didn’t deserve that.”
“No one deserves to be raped.”
He clasped his hands. “So did she kill him in self-defense?”
“She says she didn’t kill him and all we have is her word for now.” Alexis took her hands out of her pockets. “You won’t believe what happened. As long as I’ve been a detective I’ve never heard shit like this.” She touched the side of her head. “While Donovan was trying to rape Rose, she said someone else shot him from down the beach.”
Kevin gaped.
“Donovan fell over and the person ran down the beach. “Now have you ever heard something that damn bizarre?”
“It’s obviously not random.” Kevin got off the desk. “I doubt someone was just strolling on the beach, came across Rose and Donovan, and shot him.”
“Penelope and I wondered if it was just some innocent bystander who saw Donovan trying to rape Rose, shot him, and ran off in fear.”
Kevin scrunched up his face. “I’d think a Good Samaritan would’ve stayed with Rose and told the cops the truth.”
“I agree.” She bit her lip. “This person knew Donovan or Rose, I just have that feeling.”
“So do you have any leads?”
She ran her fingers through her hair. “We found a shell casing for a thirty-eight, so I guess that’s the weapon we’re looking for.”
“I don’t suppose Rose had any idea who would do this?”
Alexis shook her head. “Poor thing was shaking out of her skin.”
“Aw.” He walked up to her and caressed her arms. “Sounds like you had a rough night, hmm?” He unbuttoned her blouse.
“Kevin.” She grinned. “What are you doing?”
“You know how it is when we get together.” He slipped her blouse off her shoulders and threw it to the floor. “We just can’t seem to keep our hands off of each other.” He sucked her neck.
“Oh.” She melted when his warm tongue touched her skin. “This is crazy.” She shoved her fingers in his hair.
“Then be crazy, Lexi.” He unbuckled her belt. “Be crazy.”
She pulled him to the floor.
Entangled (Book #4 in the Bruised Series) coming from Sugar and Spice Press June 21:
When local mystery author Grayson Paul’s ex-wife is murdered, Baltimore detectives Lisa Swanson and Dee Quarter are thrown into the most complicated case of their careers. When the officers first meet Grayson, Lisa is convinced he’s hiding something while Dee, who happens to be one of Grayson’s biggest fans, is immediately taken in by the older gentleman’s good looks and charm.
What starts off as innocent flirtation between Grayson and Dee turns into a steamy affair which leaves Dee torn between guilt for sleeping with a man she doesn’t love and her torturous infatuation for Detective Winston Lewis. Winston, who’s deeply in love with Lisa, refuses to accept Lisa’s decision to be with Jake Jenson. Meanwhile Jake’s jealousy of Winston becomes so out of hand that it threatens to destroy his relationship with Lisa forever.
Between forbidden attractions, self-destructive decisions, and determined suitors, Lisa and Dee manage to solve the case. Before it’s over they’ll both get a crucial lesson in life and love that they will never forget.
Excerpt:
“Ah, jeez.” Dee stopped and turned around when she saw Winston in the station workout room.
“Hey.” He finished the sit-up then jumped to his feet. “What’s your problem, Dee?” He yanked a towel off the shelf.
She faced him. “What are you talking about?”
He grabbed his water bottle from the mat. “Why did you turn around when you saw me?” He opened the bottle and sipped.
“It’s just that I didn’t expect to see you in here.”
“And why not?” Sweat ran down the tight, black tank that hugged his scrumptious pecks.
“Oh I don’t know.” She swung her hand. “I thought you’d be somewhere running after Lisa, like always.”
He scoffed. “And why are you mean? Well, I mean today?”
“Honestly?” She straightened the towel on her shoulder. “Because you’re the last person I wanna see right now.”
“And what did I do to you?” He dabbed his face.
“You exist.” She yanked the towel off her shoulder.
“You’re such a bitch.” He wiped his forehead. “You think you can just say whatever you want to people and that they don’t have any feelings.”
She put her hand in his face. “Did I give you any indication that I wanna hear your whining right now?”
He gaped.
“In case you’ve been living in a box somewhere, I’ve had the day from hell.” She stomped toward the exercise bike. “All day Connie-big-mouth Allison, and that fat ass Belinda have been snickering and laughing behind my back and I’ve had it.” She threw the towel on the floor and got on the bike. “I thought this was a police station and not high school.”
“So why take it out on me?”
“Because it’s because of you that they’re doing this.” She pedaled. “God, Winston, you’re a cop. You should be able to get a clue.”
“Hey, I haven’t exactly had the best day either.” He stood beside the bike. “As for Connie, I know exactly what you mean. Every time I turn around someone is giggling in my face and whispering.”
“And you brought it on yourself.” She pedaled faster. “I told you people were talking about you and Lisa but you took it as a big joke.” She gripped the handlebars. “What I can’t understand is why are they acting so weird with me?”
“Hey.” He laid his hand on hers.
She trembled from his touch but she sure as hell wouldn’t let him know it.
“We need to settle this,” he said. “What’s going on? If I did something to you please tell me what.”
She sighed and stopped pedaling. “You didn’t do anything. I apologize for taking my frustrations out on you.”
“But why are you so frustrated? Is there something I can do?”
You can throw me down on the mat and make love to me as if we’re the last two people on earth. That’s what you can do.
“No.” She slipped her hand from under his. “I’m fine.”
“Dee.” He put his finger under her chin and turned her face until their eyes met. “I’m your friend. You know that, right?”
Friend!
“Now I know we get into it with each other from time to time, but you know I care about you.” He stroked her ponytail. “You know if you need to talk about anything then I’m here.”
She got off the bike. “Winston. I have to…” She lost herself in his stare. “I have to tell you something.”
“What?” He moved closer.
“It’s…” She stared at his chest. “It’s hard to explain.”
“I’m here for you, Dee.” He took her hand. “Just tell me.”
“Oh…” Butterflies filled her stomach.
Don’t do it, Dee.
She stared at his lips. “I…”
Don’t you dare do it.
“Oh.” She exhaled.
“Dee?” He moved closer.

This means, Double Switch, the Jada and Nate story will not be completed, nor will its sequel. I have chosen to make Exit Strategy the completion of the story and the duology was published as a boxed set as the series swan song (see below).
I have also recused myself from the Den of Sin series franchise, and the boxed set I published with Melissa, Holley and Ambrielle will be my final Den of Sin story. A great many of you will be disappointed with this development, and for this I am deeply sorry. However, my life as a…

Three Kinds of Patterns To Find In (or Write Into) Fiction
Originally posted on Creative Writing with the Crimson League:
Today’s post is all about patterns in fiction and in creative writing. And here’s why:
Lately, I’ve been researching the Myers-Briggs classification I test as pretty much every time I take any Myers-Briggs test: INFJ. Turns out it’s rare (around 1% or less of the population).
A WHOLE lot of the basic INFJ description does apply aptly to me, if I’m honest. The good and the bad/the weaknesses. (Avoid confrontation, much????). But one of the coolest things I’ve noticed–an INFJ niche that I definitely fill–is an affinity for patterns.
INFJs see patterns when they exist. We might create them where they don’t. Our memories are largely pattern-structured: we remembers the patterns of the past. (Honestly, I see a real connection between patterns and my need for routine as well. I thrive with a routine. Always have. I don’t extemporize well and I am NOT impulsive. At all.)

Everyone has a past. It’s time for Shauna Rousseau to face hers.
Other Novels of The Progeny Series
The Progeny (Book 1)
Blood Bonds (Book 2)
Blood Promise (Book 3)
Blood Reborn (Book 4)
Yearning: A Blood Reborn Novel (Book 4.5)
At its core, The Progeny Series is simply about a man and woman who fall in love. The fact that he’s a half-blood (half-human, half vampire) and she’s a Wiccan human are secondary factors. This series encompasses a family dynamic of which we’ve never seen.
The Rousseaus share a common mortal and immortal bloodline, but loyalty is the thread binding this vampire clan. Shauna and Ascher’s dissuaded love only strengthens the family bonds. Their unique union transcends bloodlines and completes the prophecy, defying the beliefs of centuries old covenants while shattering the wall between the Wiccan and vampire worlds that have existed for ages.
This series is erotic paranormal romance intended for adults and contains strong sexual content, adult sensuality, language and themes.
About Ashlynne Laynne
Ashlynne Layne is an award winning songwriter, poet, and author of erotic paranormal and contemporary romance. She’s always had a soft spot in her heart for vampires but grew tired of the garlic fearing, sun-loathing night stalkers of old. An avid horror movie fan, she tends to enjoy media and music of a younger, more eclectic nature. This was the catalyst for her writing The Progeny.
Ashlynne loves writing on the edge—combining the erotica and romance genres—and thinks of Ascher and Shauna as the wicked, damned version of Romeo and Juliet. She is currently working on books six and seven of her Progeny Series, book one of her upcoming Alterity Series, and a novella spin off. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her family. She juggles the hats of wife, mother, full time employee and part-time writer, hoping to write exclusively one day soon.
She lives in the Carolinas with her husband and son.

#MSSWeek42 My Sexy Saturday – Work It Out
It’s been a long hiatus, but I’m delighted to be back on My Sexy Saturday Blog Hop.
Can you believe? It’s week 42 of this exciting blog hop, and I have the pleasure and privilege of sharing with you my definition of sexy.
Sexy is when a man knows what he wants, when he’s not distracted by outside influences, even when those influences make a conscious effort to distract him. Take Dylan, for instance. He wants Marcelle, wants her real bad, even though she’s been trying hard not to succumb to his charms. Amber is the sultry temptress who wants a taste of Dylan, but is he going to let her have her way? Well, let’s read 7 sexy paragraphs from my recently released novella, Work It Out, to find out:
Dylan mentally reprimanded himself. It wasn’t going to work. There was too much heat, too much chemistry between them for him to treat her as just another client.
“Hi, Dylan.” Amber, one of his new clients stopped by to speak to him. At twenty-five, she hardly needed exercise to stay in shape. Tall, willowy, and brunette, she was quite a good-looking girl. Some would say even beautiful, considering the way the other men ogled her whenever she came in. “Could you give me a minute?”
“Sure, Amber. What’s up?” He picked up the weights Marcelle had used. After wiping them, he put them back in place.
Amber tossed her long tresses, and leaned towards him. “I was wondering if it would be possible to switch my trainer.”
He saw Marcelle walk on the treadmill. She has a cute butt. Dylan shook his head. He needed to focus. “Aren’t you with Kelsey? Is there a problem?”
Amber fluttered her eyelashes. “Oh, no problem. Kelsey’s good. It’s just that I was wondering if you could take me on. I would be willing to adjust my timing according to your schedule.”
Dylan frowned, mentally reviewing his allotted time slots. “I’m sorry, Amber. My schedule is full.”
