Birthday Giveaway

My birthday is tomorrow but I wanted to start the giveaway today. Who knows what frame of mind I’ll actually be in on the 29th! I’ve placed an order for print copies of Craving More and they are supposed to be here Sep 6. Since that was the book that started this fantastic, scary trip I will give away 5 signed copies to 5 different winners. Price Change

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you have a relaxed day ahead of you. I think we will be going to Point Defiance Park today to hang out with the kiddos. Should be fun. I know the Zoo was when we went earlier this month.

After much thought I’ve decided to drop CAUGHT IN THE MOMENT down to $0.99 in hopes that more people will pick it up and enjoy it. I’d like to get this series going, get a little more steam behind it. If you’ve already bought CAUGHT – thank you. I appreciate you jumping on board with my new career. If you haven’t left a review somewhere please consider doing so. It doesn’t need to be long. Just enough words on why you did or didn’t like it and enough to fulfill the word count requirement if there is one, which I believe Amazon has one.

I’ve finished up the cover for my contemporary romance FREEFALL. Yes I know the book isn’t finished but the cover and the couple were calling me.

It’s April already!

I found myself sitting around today working on my story Freefall and started to wonder about my website and the Facebook page. The Facebook page hasn’t been published yet due to my not liking the website design and colors yet. I do believe I’ve found what I’m looking for (for the minute). The plan is to update the Facebook to match and get it published so I can start posting on it.

I want to keep personal Brandy away from author Brandy. It is something I’ve noticed with the authors I work with and others that I follow madly. It is best to start off on the right foot and not make people follow me around when I decide to change things up. Which I will admit will happen at some point.

I desperately want a WaxCreative website at some point in my life. I love their stuff and their staff is amazing.

Updates on the writing front. I have turned in Craving More, book 1 in the Tiger Nip series to my editor and she has already sent edits back. I will be working on those this week as well as getting the cover art done.

While Craving More was with the editor I decided to switch gears and work on a straight contemporary, Freefall. I’m about halfway through writing it now. I have a plot scratched out. No giant mystery or broken hearts. Just two people who went to high school together and meet up 10 years down the line.

That’s about it. I hope you’ll stay with me on this adventure.

Still working

I’m still figuring out what I want to do with everything. Lately I’ve been concentrating on graphic design. Creating covers for my clients that fall under Author Accomplice. Its an interesting balance between helping authors in my role as assistant and becoming an author myself. There is a big part of me that doesn’t want to let them down and still be that person that helps them free up their time for writing and publishing. The other part of me knows that it will have to end at some point if I ever want to have a writing career myself.

I’m also realistic and know that the two will very likely overlap as I make my way to actually be able to earn a living as a writer. Its a very tough arena to work in especially with self-publishing on the rise.

That’s about where I am at the moment. Full of indecision as usual.

 

New Year, New Goals

Yes, I really should makes some goals.

But Brandy don’t you mean Resolutions?

Nope. I don’t do resolutions. I know I won’t fulfill them so I won’t set myself up for that failure.

Goals, however, are a different beast. They are things to aspire to get done. Something that I can check mark off at some point and I don’t have to wait an entire year to fulfill. I’m a little crazy like that. I like to see results and progress toward something.

With that in mind my goals for this year will revolve around self-publishing my first book. Now I just need to figure out a timeline which I was save for a later post.

Its a new place

I’m starting over. I’m sure you can see that since the site is pretty bare at the moment. I’m slowly working to get everything in its place so please have a little patience with me.

I’ve got the contact form sorted. I’m starting the blog. I plan on adding pages for the books I’m working on and the series they go with. Like everything else in life it will take time.

I still have my main job for as a personal assistant. I’m not sure I’ll really ever want to give that up since I really enjoy what I do.
