He reached out and traced his thumb over the curve of her cheek. Her eyes flew open and she took a quick step back.
“I’m sorry,” he murmured. “I didn’t mean to frighten you.”
Her eyes darkened even further and her lips thinned. “I’m afraid of nothing.” Her voice was slightly accented. Maybe Russian, or maybe she was Romanian. It was hard to say. Still, her voice was low and husky, and he liked the way she sounded. He wanted to hear her speak again.
“My mistake.” He inclined his head in apology.
She snorted, but didn’t turn away. It appeared he wasn’t the only one fascinated. She licked her lips and Chase felt his gut tighten. God, her lips were full and rosy and totally kissable.

Weekend Book Club--Moon by Laurann Doher and My Darkest Passion by Carolyn Jewel
This past week, I've read two great books that are parts of series that I've been reading for a few years now.
The first book is MOON by Laurann Dohner, book 10 in the New Species series. If you haven't read this series yet and you love spicy hot, paranormal romance, stop reading this blog post and go buy book 1 (Fury). I do recommend reading them in order to get the maximum enjoyment out of the series.
Those of us who are already familiar with the series have been waiting for Moon's story, and the author does not disappoint. Emotional, sexy and action-packed enjoyment from start to finish. I can't wait for the next New Species book.

The demons are not always the bad guys and the humans who use magic aren't always the good guys. The female characters are particularly strong in this series and characters who are enemies in one book might find themselves as allies in another. A definite must-read for any reader of paranormal romance.
