Three Steps for Filling That Blank Page #writingtips
Three Steps for Filling a Blank Page K.N. Lee
What is your goal when sitting down for a writing session? It should be to do whatever it takes (within reason) to fill the blank page! That doesn't mean to ramble nonsensical words and try to string them together into something coherent. It means that you should find new practices that'll urge you out of that writer's block or moment of desperation.
Lately I've been struggling to stay focused and meet my word quota, but after utilizing my tried and true little writing tricks, the inspiration and the words are flowing once again! I wanted to share three of my tactics. They've always worked for me, so I hope you can benefit as well.
Three Steps
1. Write from another character's POVSometimes changing it up a bit will inspire you. Give that character that makes you draw a blank a break, and write from one of the other main character's point of view. This is effective when writing from 3rd person. If writing from 1st person, the second tip should be helpful!
2. Work on a different sceneStuck on a part of the story with nowhere to go? Move on to that awesome battle or love scene you've been thinking about...or dreaming about. You'll be surprised by how this opens up your mind and keeps the story flowing.
3. Write a jot list with your ideas for dialogue and scenesJor lists are great! You simply write out everything you'd like to capture with your story. Sometimes writing out what your character's motivations are, or their backgrounds, your goals for the story, and so forth will fire you up and put you back on the right path.

Let's Make a Movie! ***King Hall by Scarlett Dawn***Let's make a movie for New York Times bestselling author, Scarlett Dawn!
King Hall (Forever Evermore #1)
Synopsis: A fresh, meaty, sink-your-teeth-in-and-hold-on-tight new adult fantasy series kicks off with King Hall… King Hall — where the Mysticals go to learn their craft, get their degrees, and transition into adulthood. And where four new Rulers will rise and meet their destinies. Lily Ruckler is adept at one thing: survival. Born a Mystical hybrid, her mere existence is forbidden, but her nightmare is only about to start. Fluke, happenstance, and a deep personal loss finds Lily deeply entrenched with those who would destroy her simply for existing — The Mystical Kings. Being named future Queen of the Shifters shoves Lily into the spotlight, making her one of the most visible Mysticals in the world. But with risk comes a certain solace — her burgeoning friendships with the other three Prodigies: a wicked Vampire, a wild-child Mage, and a playboy Elemental. Backed by their faith and trust, Lily begins to relax into her new life. Then chaos erupts as the fragile peace between Commoners and Mysticals is broken, and suddenly Lily realises the greatest threat was never from within, and her fear takes on a new name: the revolution.

Steven Woodford **Author Spotlight & Interview**
Steven Woodford **Author Spotlight & Interview**
Why do you write? Because I can’t sing! What made you decide to sit down and actually start something? I have had a remarkable life and have recently become friends with four writers who shamed me into sitting down and getting it done.Do you write full-time or part-time? Part time; I do volunteer work for a Key West AIDS organization and have a house, a garden and pets to take care of; therefore, writing only when I set an unbreakable rule for undisturbed writing for a minimum hour a day.Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured? Writing is from 10-12 a.m. And if something “urgent” comes up I set aside another hour (two is better) later in the day after the “emergency” passes.Do you write on a typewriter, computer, dictate or longhand? ComputerWhere do your ideas come from? My twisted imagination, my life experiences and/or LOTS of research into specific people and places. What is the hardest thing about writing? Getting everyone to leave me alone to work. What is the easiest thing about writing? Finding a character who is so “real” to me that he or she simply takes over and puts the words on the screen. How long on average does it take you to write a book? About one year.Do you ever get writer’s Block? No; I call it laziness.
Any tips on how to get through the dreaded writer’s block? Stare at a blank screen (or piece of paper) until a word or a sentence comes to you; write it down , even if it has nothing to do with what you thought you were going to write, and see what follows. If you are awake a word or two will come to you and others will follow like lemmings.
Steven Woodford, author of SHORTS, auto-bio collection from a life in the deep south, the upside and downside of New York City, falling in love, suffering the death of love (both figuratively and literally, teaching middle school for 28 years, spending 30 years as a NY theatre and music critic and then……….finally………coming to rest, mid-flight, in the Florida Keys.

Let's Make a Movie! Playing for Keeps by, Glenda Horsfall
Like Fifty Shades of Grey and other erotic romances? You'll love Glenda Horsfall's novel, Playing for Keeps .
Matt is worried! Their relationship is in trouble. Cassie has been begging him to add role-play to their lovemaking, but the kind of role Cassie wants him to play leaves him cold. When he discovers her stash of erotic romance novels, he comes to suspect that what she really wants is dominance.
Matt takes Cassie away for the weekend to celebrate her birthday. She is disappointed that the ‘highlight’ of the weekend is to be a costume party. A costume party is not the kind of role-play she’s fantasized about. She is surprised when she realizes it will be a party for two and that Matt has actually taken her to a BDSM club.
Cassie agrees to be his ‘love slave’ for the weekend and promises to obey all her ‘Master’s’ commands. Matt is surprised at her enthusiasm and is turned on by her ready acceptance of his domination.
At last, he understands her desire to role-play and Matt indulges her fantasies, along with a few of his own. However, the weekend away has changed their relationship and has taken them in a direction he hadn’t foreseen. Now he’s wondering if they can survive the changes.
Here is her ideal cast!
For Matt

I Can Cook: Light Lunches: A Children's Cookbook **Blog Tour**
Author Biography
Born in Zimbabwe, Africa I was fortunate and privileged enough to have had several years of cooking with my granddaughter Imogen who enjoyed cooking. Before she could even stand she was stirring pots from my arms.
I take pleasure in writing these books for "Imsi" in memory of our early years together.
We spent many enjoyable hours in the kitchen and I have no doubt she will one day be a Great Cook. We came from Africa where fresh healthy locally grown fruits, vegetables and meats were readily available grown and ripened in the natural unspoiled gardens and farms with a large percentage of organic growing and production.

Come along and cook with your Children and have fun in the kitchen together with my ”I Can Cook” Children’s Very OWN Cook Book series by Granny Marika – easy, basic children's fun recipes ideal for beginners ages 4-12 year olds. Easy step by step instructions, with safety and health tips for your children while they cook they will instantly learn to make these simple salads, puddings, desserts, baking recipes for their family and friends - with adult guidance and supervision. In NO time your “PreciousLittle Cooks” will be making these delicious recipes; pancakes, bread and butter pudding, jellos and more just like my granddaughter "Imsi" makes.
